"In the historic Springfield neighborhood, Silkie’s Chicken and Champagne Bar is dishing out some of the best fried chicken in the city. Chef Kenny Gilbert, who many know from his days on Top Chef and as a private chef for Oprah Winfrey, is the mastermind behind the flavor combos like cane syrup with hot honey and pickled pineapple on a biscuit with a piece of golden brown fried chicken. For diners who want a lighter dish, try the watermelon and lychee salad, which combines kale, red onions, feta cheese, watermelon, and tropical lychee fruit, all tossed in a lime-mint dressing." - Megan duBois

"At Silkies Chicken and Champagne Bar, chef Kenny Gilbert elevates Southern cuisine with fried chicken, biscuits, and champagne cocktails. The Flavor Bomb chicken sandwich, a favorite of Oprah Winfrey’s, features a truffle and gouda biscuit with fried chicken in a sweet and spicy sauce. The weekend brunch highlights include chicken and waffles like the OG Weekend CW with tequila orange blossom honey butter sauce and the Mexico City plate with churro-style waffles and Spanish hot chocolate sauce. For sides, the truffle smoked gouda macaroni and cheese is a must, offering a perfect cheese pull to complement the meal." - Megan duBois

"When it comes to fried chicken no one is doing it better than chef Kenny Gilbert at his Springfield restaurant Silkies Chicken and Champagne Bar. The counter-service restaurant is known for its chicken biscuit sandwiches piled high with unique topping options. The most popular dish on the expansive menu is the FB Hot made with a crispy fried chicken thigh with spicy hot sauce, creamy Alabama white barbecue sauce, and cool dill cucumbers piled onto a cheesy jalapeno cheddar biscuit. This is the chicken sandwich that Oprah was served by Gilbert, which automatically makes it a win." - Megan duBois

Hands down, this restaurant deserves 10 stars ⭐️! The food, service and ambiance are top notch. I am a property owner in the area and this location adds value to the community and puts Jacksonville on the map! Our group ordered different items and after sampling everything, you cannot go wrong anywhere. My 🔝 choice is the shrimp and grits bowl. In the south, it is a compliment to say the chef “stuck their foot in it.” I’m thinking about it now and cannot wait to go back. By far one of the best restaurants in Florida!! Did I mention the shrimp and grits bowl is OUTSTANDING (and has collard greens in it?) The professional, courteous, knowledgeable staff make it all a winning combination. Thank you for a wonderful experience! 🤩

My friends and I have been coming to Silkies since early 2021 when Chef Kenny actually use to be there and cooking! Since summer of 2022 my friends and I would meat at silkes on Fridays for the catfish special majority of the time it would be a short, Caucasian chef (whom the ancestors were definitely watching over!) the food always was a 10/10! The service with the old crew (older caucasian lady, Tre, and younger Caucasian male always a 10/10. They made sure from the time you entered until the time you left you had an amazing experience and being that the concept of silkies is fast food with a twist and definitely nothing I’ve seen at any restaurant. After being deployed for a year and returning to Jax it was a must that I catch up with my friends at Silkies on Friday to continue our tradition. From the time we entered until we left it was a 0/10 experience. The atmosphere wasn’t welcoming. The young man (heavier, Afro, tall) taking orders was amazing. Very patient, friendly, and professional. When the lady (dreadlocks) came over to check on our table after we received our food. Had such a nasty attitude when we asked if the fish was catfish because it has changed in taste, quality, and size. She snapped at us saying “it’s the same fish Chef Kenny don’t play that” and walked off. And we were left stunned like ok. She definitely needs a lesson on customer service. I’m not talking about the customer is always right but how to genuinely speak to ppl and stay calm to not escalate or make matters worse. We remained calmed and my friend went to the cashier who exchanged out his fish for something else. I on the other hand was over it. The attitude, the food, the experience. I was offered a refund for my catfish alone. I took it and went to get lunch elsewhere. The recipes and options have changed and I understand that things cost more but quality product should never not be the goal. The grits are different, the macnchese taste different. But the catfish (said) is definitely not the same!!! I will not be returning to silkies and definitely not recommending anyone else to dine there. I wish I had gotten a photo of the fish from yesterday for comparison but I was in shock and so much was going on.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Silkies Chicken and Champagne. The atmosphere walking in was welcoming and intimate. We were first greeted by T to ask if we had been here before (in which we had not) and we responded no and she made sure that as we were waiting in line to order that we had access to the menu to decide our selection. Once it was our turn to order, the cashier was very nice and answered all of our questions to make sure we made a well informed descision. We ordered our food and was told we could sit anywhere. We sat in the section closest to the bar and awaited our food and drinks! We had one waitress deliver my delicious mimosa flight and then T brought our food. My husband realized that his Champagne order never came so I got up and asked T about it. She immediately got into action to get my husband's missing champagne and even topped him off after it was half gone because he had to wait on it. The food was delicious and the service and care of everyone that works here was even better. Just a background we originally picked this place to visit while we are in Jacksonville (we live in Tampa) because the owner, Chef Kenny, is from Cleveland (where we both are from) and we also love to support a black owned small business! We will definitely be back when we are in town and hope to see T and the rest of the Silkie's staff!

I had high expectations for this place but was a little disappointed. I didn't have the experience I wanted, starting with the service 👎I thought there would be suggestions when choosing, for example the Collard Green, Garlic Shrimp dish is just that, it doesn't come with any accompaniment or side, we asked everything separately. I think the concept is good but the menu should be improved... trio of Biscuits (a little dry and all three taste the same) with different "butters", jams for dinner? Some dishes have sides, others don't, a little confusing, but it would have been nice to have good service that would advise you, suggest you in that sense, but the truth that is not the place. Overpriced for the experience.

Google
From the reviews I had higher expectations. We got the catfish & grits and the mac & cheese w/ jerk chicken, and the strawberry cobbler. I think both were overpriced. The catfish & grits- the catfish was fried & seasoned perfectly, the greens were so spicy I couldn't eat them, the grits were good but too watery & definitely not enough for $25. The mac & cheese was medicore & needed more seasoning or more salt. The jerk chicken was good but not spicy at all. The strawberry cobbler was just nasty. We took 1 bite & threw it out. The customer service was great, staff was nice. But from the reviews, prices, & menu I expected a more upscale atmosphere. It was hot & muggy. The self-service silverware was dirty. The food was served in to-go container & rugged pan. For the price I expected more.

Google
It looks cute on the inside. It's kinda like an upscale fast food. You order and pay at the counter, they provide you with a number to display at your table and a server will bring your food/ drinks to your table. The servers I encountered were all very friendly and helpful and took the time to explain the menu. I ordered a biscuit by itself as a starter and had the great American for dinner. The sole biscuit had food flavor but, unfortunately, was a little dry. The toppings were yummy though. The great American also had good flavor and i loved the waffle fries. However, all in all, I don't think it was worth the money I spend. I think the food was over priced.

William Linville

Google
This place was great!! The chicken was moist and flavorful. Service was attentive and was routinely asking if you need anything else. It is quite pricey for the meal that you get but I feel it was worth it to me. I got the St. Augustine sandwich and my wife got some classic chicken and waffles. Both amazing. The truffle Mac and cheese was delicious too but you definitely have to love truffle to enjoy it.

Jeremy Risher

Google
We went in with a party of 5, and I only heard great feedback about each dish. The honey butter was Amazing and great even on the fries. The chicken was top-notch. If it's your first time, check out the menu before you get there they have so many different things to try. My only regret is that they didn't have biscuits and gravy when we went in.

Yelp
Silky's Chicken and Champagne Bar in Jacksonville is a fantastic spot for breakfast. This restaurant is run by Chef Kenny from Top Chef, who was a favorite of mine during his season on the show. The menu features a number of great dishes, including a standout chicken and waffles. Everything here looked like the chef took great care in preparing it. The only downside is the size of the restaurant--it's quite small. A line can quickly form outside, and the ordering process can take a while since you need to wait for people to get up and leave before you can find a seat. Despite this, we absolutely loved every single dish we had here. I would 100% return if I were in Jacksonville again. Silky's is the kind of place you should seek out, and the star power of Chef Kenny truly matches the quality of the food served.

Yelp
I can't believe it took me this long to write this. We send everyone here. And I hadn't been since the new menu, and my mom sent me all kinds of pictures and we just had to resolve that. Alright so it's just as good as I could remember. Honestly, arguably better. We had the chicken and waffles and the chicken and biscuit meals. The smoked then fried thigh is so near perfect; juicy, tender, crispy, slightly spicy, delicious. The tenders (for the kiddo, who doesn't know what he's missing with the thighs) also delicious, especially dunked in syrup. This is weird, but. The highlight? The sauce man. The garlicky ranch - holy moly, bury me in that. We took it home lol! Anyways. Love this place they do no wrong, people are always amazing and food always delicious.

Yelp
Silkie's Chicken and Champagne Bar after thoughts: (post-Novo Nordisk/Jaguars Stadium Challenge 2024) simple clean designed interior. Helpful order first counter concept & once prepared, food will be served at your table. Ordered: Hot honey chicken wings Garlic shrimps - cooked just right, nice taste of dill & other mixtures was good Sweet plantains - flavorful combo of sweet & heat, tangy, black bean purée was well received & was great paired together with the "Garlic Shrimps" Tres Leche Cake - tasted but not the usual traditional tres lech I am accustomed. I still enjoyed this dessert. Left satisfied & not overtop full, considering the time of dinner, it hit the spot in all the right places. of 5 (4 of 5)

Yelp
So sorry you are closing this sight. Had a wonderful Mother's Day brunch there 3 years ago. To bad RIVER CITY can't get a special place with great good food. Tired of Traveling so far for my "foodie delights"

Courtney K.

Yelp
I am SO SO SAD to learn that Silkie's has closed. This was one of my favorite places in JAX. We can pretty often -- and we live on the other side of town! Hoping so much that this resto can be resurrected.

Yelp
Out of business effective immediately Another victim of economic crisis and COVID and staffing issues

Yelp
So sad you're closed! I came several months ago on a visit, and was excited to come back! Best of luck with the next chapter!

Yelp
My monthly dinner group had decided in December that Silkies was our January choice. Honestly I was fortunate enough to attend an event on Tuesday at Silkies. So excited to share its awesomeness with my dinner group put a smile on my face. I am terrible at asking for names but the staff... Wow, attentive, patient and knowledgeable. These guys worked as a team like a well oiled machine. The ordering is fast casual.. order at the counter and food is delivered once prepared. I am learning to love this concept! The only downside is you swipe your card first and drink while gathering with friends, swipe again first ordering and swipe again for another beverage. Wish we could leave our tab open. On to the most important part of the evening the delicious food. My heart was set on the delicious jerk thighs I had tasted days earlier. I choose 3 sauces all were so good and served for great dipping for my waffle fries and chicken. Truffle Gouda Biscuit was so yummy! The portions are amazing. My gang ordered an array of food and honestly I forgot to take pics. Thanks Chef Kenny and staff. We are already talking about putting you on our rotation! See ya soon!

Yelp
I have been a fan of Chef Kenny since seeing his talents while competing on Top Chef. I learned of his restaurants in both Duval and Nassau County and made it a must try. Well Todays visit to Silkie's was no doubt another great experience. Chef Kenny's vision is very impressive. That's to say that the food, the presentation, the ambiance and the decor are awesome. This small wonder is packed full of excitement. Once you choose your food items, the rest is self serving, you grab your table items and have a seat either inside the dining area or walk out to the patio and enjoy your food of choice. The area where this restaurant is located was once run down, it is rich with history and with the revitalization of the neighborhood homes and businesses, Kenny brings a much needed ray of light to the community.

Yelp
I first discovered Silkie's for a Yelp event and I've been back a couple times since then. Talk about a unique and creative menu! Silkie's has taken fried chicken and biscuits to a whole new level. I've had the flavor bomb and the fl/ga boy. Hubby's favorite is the flavor bomb. It's the perfect name for this chicken biscuit. So many layers of flavor going on and it just works. Spicy, sweet, smokey, truffle paired with pickled veggies - yummm! My favorite is the fl/ga boy. The large dollop of sweet butter atop the fried chicken breast is phenomenal. If there is one side you must try, it's the truffle smoked Gouda mac & cheese. So creamy and cheesy with an extra layer of baked cheese on top and the perfect amount of truffle flavor. Trust me, just order it! Their biscuits are amazing with or without chicken. They are huge and hold up really well even with all the fillings. I love the jalapeño cheddar biscuit as well as the buttermilk biscuit. I have seen them with a long line around the block. Do not let it deter you! It's worth the wait, every time. Until next time Silkie's!

David A.

Yelp
Friendly, cozy, family style atmosphere. Servers were extremely friendly and welcoming. The Flavor bomb was mildly sweet and spicy and the Mac and cheese was thick and rich. Definitely recommend and will come again. Great southern comfort food.

Amber J.

Yelp
The best fried chicken in town! It's fried chicken and champagne y'all! It doesn't get any better than that!

Christian K.

Yelp
Another absolutely tantalizing experience at Silkies! We had quick and friendly service in their modern yet cozy dining area. We got a couple things we saw such as the signature flavor bomb chicken biscuit with their pickled vegetables and collards. My friend got the Jerk chicken with grits bowl. We had to ask for these also that weren't on the menu anymore , my friend called them Walnut street nuggets, which were smoky chicken nugs covered in Gochujang honey and Benne seeds over a mixture plantain cakes and pickled pineapple. The food is amazing and is a divine explosion of flavors! Can't wait to come back again.

Debi R.

Yelp
Very few restaurants hit 100% in every area. Service, hospitality, food, parking, atmosphere. Silkies's knocks it out of the park. Went for brunch. A steady flow of people coming and going but no long wait. You order at the counter (review menu before coming because there are so many great choices it's hard to decide). They have daily specials also. We had 4 adults and a child. Everyone got something different. I split Berry Berry waffles and chicken because the quantity is large. Biscuits and gravy topped with scramble eggs was another favorite. My grandson (4) ate his waffle and asked for seconds. He enjoyed both waffles and a biscuit. The food is good folks!! Chef Gilbert is best known for being on Top Chef but he was also Oprah's personal chef for many years. The atmosphere is quaint. A neighborhood vibe. Truly a hidden gem. Flights of bubbles flow during brunch as well as by the bucket. And the people? You leave feeling like you're family. Not only the staff but the other customers were so friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to go back. Going to order wings tonight for our Bowl Game Watch Party!

Bruenella W.

Yelp
Super cute place! Went Saturday morning so a bit of a wait But totally worth it! Great staff & dog friendly! Sat out back on the patio They brought water bowls & treats for my boys

Yelp
Silkies is an absolute gem in the brunch scene! From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality that's second to none. The ambiance is chic and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a delightful brunch experience. The menu is a culinary masterpiece, offering a tantalizing array of brunch delights that cater to every palate. Each dish is crafted with care and creativity, showcasing the chef's dedication to quality ingredients and innovative flavors. But what truly sets Silkies apart is their exceptional customer service.

Jawhara G.

Yelp
100% Recommend! The food was AMAZING! I ordered the southern fried catfish grit bowl which comes with collard greens as well and it was hands down the best decision. I ate every single morsel The biscuits came out first and they were really good! The jam and butter pairing complimented the flavor perfectly and the food came out quickly. The staff were all very pleasant and helped with deciding between the bottle and the flight which are roughly the same price. You'll get more glasses if you get the bottle, but you can try more flavors if you get the flight. I opted for the flight and the pear and peach flavors were my favorites! My sister enjoyed the guava. The ambience was really chill and we enjoyed ourselves overall! I would absolutely return!

Monica L.

Yelp
Headed to Maine and our first stop is southern food in Jacksonville! Without knowing too much about Jacksonville and the area, Silkies is located near downtown in a clearly gentrification in progress neighborhood. I felt it's important to share what is happening in the neighborhood. The establishment seemed to be an old business and the rustic esthetics were preserved to fit the surrounding houses nearby, which I really appreciated. The menu was pretty expansive! I went for the FL/GA boy chicken biscuit sandwich with Mac and cheese and my partner went for the BLT with beans and quinoa. For drinks we ordered two Lychee frose. Gosh were to start with this review. The FL/GA biscuit was outrageously delicious. The chicken was so freaking crispy and well seasoned that I could just eat it by itself. The sweet maple butter inside the sandwich was such a complimentary flavor twist with the chicken. The Mac and cheese was sooooooo cheesy. I was so focused on my sandwich that I did not try the BLT, but let's just say he cleaned it up good and no crumbs were left behind. As for the froses, you have to order them because it's the most distinct frose I've ever had. It was the perfect almost creamy balance to alcohol ratio. Can't wait to try the new silky brother restaurant that just opened in Miami when I'm back in town.

Chris J.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Silkie's with my cousins and the by ourselves, and again with some friends who were in town for the weekend. We've been there 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Chef Gilbert and the staff are second to none. Seriously ridiculous good food. Wicked awesome my wife would say. The oxtails are amazing, ask for grits instead of rice if you're looking for brunch for dinner. The biscuits...bless their hearts. I cannot say anything that will live up to the experience that is Silkie's. Go and enjoy for yourself. No reservations and advisable to get there early, also beer, wine and champagne only no liquor. I will finish with a kudos to the staff, they are welcoming and genuine. I enjoyed every single second in this restaurant and it was a privilege receiving their hospitality.

Tiffany J.

Yelp
I was super excited to try this restaurant. I visited another one of the owner's restaurants, Gilbert's Underground Kitchen in Fernandina Beach, FL, before it closed. I ordered the Ultimate bowl with no fish, extra shrimp and crab. The bowl had a compilation of flavors, and I enjoyed the flavor of the crab and shrimp. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was adequate for the fast casual experience.

Victoria B.

Yelp
My hubby & I stumbled upon this place while visiting family in JAX and it was such a vibe. It's nestled in a cozy neighborhood near the city with plenty of delicious options to choose from. I ordered the Chicken & Waffles and my hubby ordered the Catfish The Ultimate Grit Bowl: Catfish, Garlic Crab, and Cajun Shrimp. Both were phenomenal!!! The waffles were delicious and had a juicy berry sauce. The chicken was flavorful with a crunchy skin. The grit bowl was out of this world. The service was amazing & they offered many suggestions. The menu definitely has something for everybody. We also ordered a champagne flight and the flavors of each cocktail were amazing! We definitely recommend you check them out!

Martin B.

Yelp
We went here on a late Thursday evening. We didn't expect it to be so casual but casual it was. The Smoke Chicken and Dumplings was perfecto and the Jerk Atlantic Salmon, excelente. Can't wait to go back!

Miriam C.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Chef Kenny for years! I've visited every location and was sad when they closed. Shout out to the fried green tomato sandwich from the Fernandina location. Anyway, Silkies has been on my list to try since they opened. I finally got to try them today! We came at a very busy time, but that was our fault! Every bite was worth the wait. My personal favorite was the truffle Gouda Mac and cheese with jerk chicken! Oh. My. Gosh. It was one of the best items I've tried in 2022! I bought my husband the jerk chicken seasoning to use at home! We shared the biscuit sampler and really enjoyed each one! My favorite was the jalapeño cheddar! Loved the pickled veggies as well! Flavor bomb was awesome. Classic was great! BLT was good, but I didn't love the bacon jam. Just a personal preference. We all shared food and the most incredible strawberry ice cream dessert! Don't come here in a rush. Come here planning to enjoy quality food and company!!!!

Laura A.

Yelp
Everything about our dining experience was wonderful. From the the moment we entered, we were offered menus to review and help with our order process. Everyone's food was fantastic, flavors were amazing. Loved the space as well, a neighborhood place that was warm and welcoming.

Neila Z.

Yelp
My BLT plate was $22, when a canned soda was added. I thought it high for lunch but it was more than I could eat. Mac and Cheese is great. Tenders were, meh ... Publix is better. Biscuit was good but dry. Salads were nice, the fried biscuit croutons were really tasty. I feel like I checked the box here. I see why people like it, I also see why his prior restaurants closed. I won't recommend or return.

Tara K.

Yelp
Decided to try Silkie's on our way to a Concert at the arena. Perfectly situated, took us about 10 min (with traffic) to get to the arena parking lot. Because it was Thursday, I tried the 1/2 priced Gouda Mac w/ Garlic Chicken and a Champagne Cocktail Flight (also 1/2 priced)! The Gouda Mac was SO delicious and paired perfectly with the garlic chicken. Perfectly cooked and the flavors seriously erupt in your mouth. So much food, I was able to finish about half of it and now have a delicious lunch waiting for me!! My husband got the "Half a Bird" roasted with a Jalapeno cheddar bisquit. Chicken was moist and super flavorful. Champagne Cocktail flight was also delicious and was perfect to split between 2 people. Everyone from the girl who took our order to the gentleman delivering food were very friendly. Can't wait to go back-that Gouda Mac is calling my name!! #TravelwiththeKirklands

Melissa L.

Yelp
Okay, so the drive in was a bit shady...but don't let the location dissuade you from checking out this place! Brunch was delicious and drink options were bountiful. The line moves quickly, even out the door. Stick around. It's worth the wait.

Aiyana V.

Yelp
While this spot sits quietly on a neighborhood street corner, the flavors served on the inside are bold, creative, and nothing short of delicious. Love that the menu is straight forward with so many inventive food combinations like orange marmalade on fried chicken buttermilk biscuit or Smokey fried chicken thigh on a Jalapeño cheddar biscuit. Even southern classics like shrimp n' grits and fried catfish, you can't go wrong ordering anything from the menu. Whatever you do, you've gotta try one of the fried chicken and biscuit combinations and one of the bangin sides like the Mac! And to pair perfectly was the great and quick service; we were attended to like family. I can't explain how good the place is; you just have to try for yourself!

Jessica C.

Yelp
Good. I'll even go on a date there Buttttt it's the collards green on my grits that had me thinking why would they do that to a fish and grits dish I don't eat it all but

Rachna K.

Yelp
I've heard about this place for a bit and finally went to check it out! The food was delicious, some of the best fried chicken I've had in Jax! The mimosa flight was also great. The restaurant has a good amount of seating and it's self seating! The staff was all really great and helpful!

Mallorey S.

Yelp
Silkies is amazing! The service is top notch. Our host/cashier was so warm and welcoming as soon as we walked in the door. Seriously, her smile and energy were off the charts. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all of our questions. My 9yo son and I shared the 905 chicken and waffles with a thigh and tenders. The waffle was good and the chicken was "The BEST chicken ever" according ti my son and I would have to agree. I also had the cheese grits which were very rich and flavorful. My husband had the chicken and biscuit with thigh and traditional buttermilk biscuit and fries. The game changer on his plate was the garlic ranch and the Alabama white sauce. Both were delicious and we would have bought a bottle of the ranch if available! The atmosphere is laid back, you order at the counter and get your own drinks, silverware and napkins. We also noticed on our way out that they have some very night outdoor seating in a back courtyard. Overall a fantastic place! We will definitely be back to try out their dinner menu.

Laura L.

Yelp
This was the best food we've eaten in a long time!! It was our first time here and went on Easter Sunday. The flavors that hit your mouth are amazing! I had the biscuits and gravy and my husband had the Sunday breakfast. My food was, again, AMAZING! Jalapeño biscuits smothered in andouille chicken gravy and 2 sunny side up eggs....yes ma'am! It was spicy, but not too spicy, sooooo much flavor. My god! My husbands food looked basic but he said the flavors were just incredible in everything. I did taste his scrambled eggs and they were so good. We both had drinks from the "bar"-mimosa and Bajan Lover. Mmmmmm.....It's a small, clean, order at the counter but NOT fast food place. The lady working there came to check on us and called me by my name. Made me feel like family. There's a garden to sit in too, if you prefer. It's in cute Springfield and surrounded by homes on treelined streets. You'll love it.

Ruvani D.

Yelp
Huge delicious flavoursome platter of 4 different chickens plus biscuit and a local beer for less than $40 - fantastic food, great service / and a really good atmosphere, plus no queue for an early brunch - highly recommended.

Shana S.

Yelp
I finally made it to Silkies for fried fish Fridays! I had the fingerling potatoes (which were potato wedges) with coleslaw and the fried catfish.. and i cannot forget that cheddar jalapeño biscuit! I've never been disappointed with any of Chef Gilberts creations and it still holds true that he is probably one of the greatest creators when it comes to food. Everything was flavorful, cooked to perfection and the catfish was amazing. Hats off to the cooks that were there. The restaurant is beautiful and i enjoyed my meal on the back patio which is a hidden gem. I will be going back

bella t.

Yelp
RUN don't walk to Silkie's!!! I've been wanting to try this place for so long and finally got the chance to today!!! The chicken breading was flavorful, the jalapeno cheddar biscuit was out of this world and the garlic ranch sauce was incredible!!! Check out Silkie's you won't regret it!!!

Jeanie W.

Yelp
Very flavorful selections. Perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs and the most decadent cheesiest Mac n cheese . Loved the crispy chicken

This is my second visit to Silkie's and I'm just loving every moment here. First visit was Date night with the hubby about a year ago. Dinner was not very memorable then. Today's visit was definitely better! It's Saturday 12pm and it is busy! Worth the wait though. This is Oprah's private chef we're talking about...and he's whipping up some magic in front of you too. I love the music , there's a DJ today and his sounds are early 2000s , some 90s music and I'm feeling it! I arrived at 12:01 and was the fourth person in line. Seating is limited and the line is kinda slow. It took about 10 minutes before I could order. Side note: can't save a seat either. I was politely asked to get up from a table I was saving. You gotta order first, I was informed. It didn't seem too bad though, there's definitely a nice flow of things. Each time someone finished ordering, another table would magically become available. They turn the tables pretty quickly. I ordered the fall special. Fall Springfield Chicken and Waffles or something like that. That pumpkin butter was everything! The honey was a bit watery and so was the hot sauce. One of my chicken was overcooked but the other one was nice and juicy. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see Chef Kenny helping clear tables and he even brought my friend's plate up to our table. I respect that!!! I feel like I'm at his house! My friends ordered another type of chicken and waffles: Country Boy and my friend ordered the Flavor bomb. We were all pretty pleased. I should've ordered champagne but didn't. Next time I will!

Yelp
Been wanting to come here for a minute but it was always so crowded. So we came like on a Wednesday night and it was perfect. I've been to all of Chef Gilbert's places but this one. I really enjoyed his BBQ and unique flavors so I was excited! As usual the food did not disappoint! The biscuits were soooo good and the sauces! That strawberry ginger one had me in a chokehold! There's so much I wanted to try so I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Hands down my #1 pick for a brunch spot. Yes... there is usually a line. Enjoy catching up with friends while you wait because it's 100% worth it. We ordered a little bit of everything our first time and everyone in our party was not only full, but couldn't stop talking about the different flavor profiles and quality of the food. Would love to see this place expand have more parking and seating... it's a hidden gem!

Yelp
Good was delicious. The staff was nice, but you had to ask for everything....plate, utensils, napkins. Maybe it was just an off day for them.

Yelp
Amazing food. Excellent service. Great atmosphere. Group of 6 people. Order at counter and sit for a delicious meal. Especially save room for the apple pie ice cream. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
First time here, super delicious! The Mac&Cheese, green beans, black bean hummus, biscuit sampler and the Texas Catfish was worth the drive from St. Augustine! The portions were substantial, and the service and atmosphere was wonderful.

Yelp
Legit. Biscuits are on point. Prices reasonable. Staff was charming. I had the OG Weekend Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was fried pretty much perfectly, well seasoned breading. The tequila OJ syrup was great on the waffles and good on the chicken. When combined with the hot sauce the syrup was just right on the chicken too.

Yelp
I've been to Silkies about three times now and the service and the food has been great consistently. I'm on a mission to try something different each time that I visit because I'm confident that it will be great.

Yelp
The food and service was great. The area is trying to come back. The food is unique but very good. The portions are large so plan to split something unless ur starving.

Yelp
I was sad to see Gilbert's go, oh, but I do love his replacement . We originally dined when they were freshly open. I am currently in a wheelchair, and there was a considerable step I initially had to maneuver over to get in--I traveled back months later--ADA accessible. The MS Muse (.com, blog plug :) in me was ELATED, but this accommodation. The menu is TALKATIVE. Between the specials and the existing menu, it is an assortment of delicious possibilities in biscuit selection, chicken vs. fish--I loved my catfish entree, it was a "Saturday special." We've been here three or four times already but still I feel I have yet SO far to still SAMPLE and taste --I come to Jax for multiple sclerosis attention at UF and love a stop by Silkie's when possible. OH--the Champagne, the lovely options--GO

Yelp
I could seriously go on and on about Silkie's Chicken and Champagne Bar, if you're considering going--just do it. I'm a fan of any restaurant opened by Chef Kenny since Gilbert's in Fernandina. One thing you will notice is consistency. The experience is always great, the food is always delicious, always hot and the employees are always kind. One of my top choices at Silkie's is the Southern Fried Texas Catfish special served on Friday. You can never go wrong with the Truffle Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese or a new fav of mine, Steamed Green Beans & Turnips if you're in a veggie mood. The Buttermilk and Truffle Gouda are my go to for the drop biscuits but there are more to choose from. The sauces, butters, and jams are a must--you get the point. Try as much as you can. I highly recommend Silkie's.

Yelp
Run, don't walk to this fabulous eating establishment. We ended up there for a late Saturday brunch after a wonderful morning at the zoo. We both ordered two different kinds of chicken and waffles and two different champagne cocktail. Both dishes and drinks were excellent. The chicken was moist and delicious and the waffles crispy and flavorful. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the atmosphere was comfortable and homey. I felt comfortable in my shorts and tshirt, but could easily have dressesd up and not felt out of place. Will definitely be going back because their biscuits looked amazing!

Yelp
Despite lines out the door, it's worth the wait. Good portions and fresh food. Southern flares!! Nice addition to the Springfield area.
