very average - didn’t get the hype. we booked a table via reception desk at Regent for the same evening. upon reading the reviews, we prepared ourselves to be blown away - only to find the whole experience very average compared to other places in Taipei. we ordered the classics - crispy pork belly and duck, as well as tofu with mince pork. and while the taste was good, it definitely wasn’t anything amazing. the vibe at the place was also very stiff.

Amazing Cantonese cuisine at Silks House! I had dinner with HK friends and we all love the dishes here. Good ingredients, excellent dishes design and seasonings by Chef Max Wo, I didn’t try enough as I really enjoyed the dinner here. Thanks for the nice service and hospitality :)

Definitely one of the best dim sum spots in Taipei. The service is excellent, and the whole dining experience was truly comfortable and enjoyable.

pretty much every single dish was exquisitely crafted and it all made such an i credible dining experience — it’s the level of quality that you would expect something with this price tag ! i think all the courses were really great, but i’ll just talk about some of my highlights. my favourite (or maybe most surprising) dish of the night was the mushroom and abalone dish — not something i thought i enjoyed, but it was just so delectable. the sauce was concentrated, aromatic, and addicting. the mushroom and abalone were both bouncy, plump, and thick. the sauce was so good that we actually ordered a bit of hot rice to mix in with the leftovers, and it was absolutely divine. i would actually drink the sauce if i could. the roasted peking duck was a veritable MEDLEY of textures and flavours: the crunchiness of the cucumber and onions, the softness and QQness of the crepe, and the crispiness of the skin all came together in a bomb of a bite. when you bite into it, you first taste the heavy, sweet saltiness of the sauce and the oiliness from the duck/skin, then as you chew further, it unleashes the lighter, yet sharper flavours of the onion and cucumber. later, the duck leg was also incredibly meaty and dripping with juice, and the crispy skin had a thin layer of fat underneath that made it so delicious and indulgent. another one of my favourites was the 泡飯 — the rice wasn’t mushy like usual 泡飯, but crunchy and crispy instead, so you could really taste the flavour of each individual grain. it was paired with a perfectly salty, light, and oily lobster broth. the barbecued pork was insanely tender and melts in your mouth, probably the best charshu i’ve ever had. since it was on a grill, it was a bit smoky and the honey sauce was suBTLY sweet, and had less of a “in your face” punch sweetness you usually find with charshu, so it tasted very harMonious. the preserved egg was something i didn’t think i would like, but turned out to be a pleasant surprise. the outside was gelatinous and firm, and the yolk was creamy and thick. the scoop of chili on top was quite spicy but contrasted well with the earthier and quieter flavours of the egg.

A great dining experience, the service was very attentive and the food was delicious. I had a great time with my family eating at Silks House. I love the roast pork and crispy pig, the bamboo shoots were so soft and tender, the soup and crab were so good as well. The presentation of each dish was beautiful and I really enjoyed trying each one

We ordered an entire Peking duck. The duck was so juicy and flavorful. The wrap was very chewy and had a nice texture. I would definitely have the soup (西施泡飯) again when I visit next time. The soup was decadent, unique, and delicious. It is definitely a must order.

My goodness, that lobster soup with all ingredients is absolutely delicious and soothing. I ended up eating two bowls because it was so good! Would go back just for that. The honey glazed char siu was out of this world - super tender and full of flavor. No wonder every tabled ordered one. The desserts themselves were amazing as well - the mushroom and sesame balls were beautiful and tasty works of art! Kevin are server was patient and kind with all of our questions and needs. Thank you for making our meal a memorable one!

Finally went for a birthday dinner. It was a special occasion for me and my girlfriend. We were satisfied with the food. Everything was fresh and well prepared. However the service was extremely disappointing. First couple courses came without any explanation. They also mixed up our orders simply because they were too lazy or busy to even ask. We had no idea that the dishes were even different since they looked very similar and we accidentally ate each others order. At this price point I would honestly assume that they would keep track of our orders and simply give us what we’ve ordered without asking. Meanwhile right across from our table was a table of around 5-6 people and the restaurant had a staff there drinking with them for the whole night entertaining them. I would have no problem with that but they couldn’t even get our table orders right. We had to ask the staff for better service which is quite unacceptable before they started to give us some attention. Food wise If you’re looking for a fine Chinese cuisine experience this is quite a good choice however you can feel the chef is not very passionate about the food they serve. Everything had perfect seasoning and great presentation but details were lacking. My noodle had a big clump of uncooked dough that was rock solid in the middle. My partner had a lukewarm lobster rice. While everything was very well done the details weren’t quite to the standard that you would expect. All in all I think it was a underwhelming experience for us although the food was decent. I would not recommend this place considering the service and price point. I would recommend to go in a group. It seems like they only provide good service to customers that are paying a bigger check.

Located on the third floor of the regent Taipei, very nice upscale restaurant with good food served here. I came here for business dinner and service was excellent. They have a standard course menu but they cater to individual needs for allergies or diet. Each dish was served in an individual plate. Nicely presented. I don't remember exactly how many dishes were served but I was very full by the time dessert was served. Each table is set up so far between, really ideal for business dinner. They also have several private rooms for more privacy.

Silk House is located in one of the finest 5-star hotels in Taipei. Located on the 3rd floor, the hallway leading to the main dining area is decorated with Chinese calligraphy from a famous poem. Although I've only been here 3 times, the food has been consistently tasty and special. The roasted whole duck was well cooked and delicious. The dim sum also packed flavor although some dishes did not stand out that much to me. We also got the minced prawn wrapped in lettuce which was unique with crunchy texture from the lettuce and nice savory prawn inside. Barbecued pork with honey sauce really stood out to me, I think they caramelized the honey on the top of the pork skin. I can say this is probably my favorite red roasted pork. The fried rice with abalone and egg white is also quite tasty. Overall, this place is a classy restaurant with great selections that are unique and delicious. I would like to come here again and try more of the menu one day.

Magnificent place to have multi-courses dinner. First visit here and I was more than impressed. Love their private dining room that can accommodate up to twenty plus people. Definitely a highly recommended place for celebrating special occasions. It will be something to remember for life.

Recommend the turnip cake. Not my go to restaurant simply because I don't turn to Chinese food, but the food is quite delicately made.
