While visiting Magnolia Market, we were most excited to visit the bakery. It was not crowded when we arrived around 11am on a Thursday and decided to try the carrot cake and lavender lemon cupcakes. They looked delicious and were packed in a cute little box; however, both of our cupcakes were somewhat dry, which was completely shocking after hearing for years how amazing they are. The carrot cake was actually a little crumbly, rather than moist, so sad. The frosting was smooth and creamy, loved the texture, and I'm not a frosting person, but it was good. I LOVE sweets and I can't believe I'm saying this, but it was a little too sweet, even for me - another shocker. I was going to get a cookie for later, but after eating the cupcakes, we decided against it.

Google
Our first stop at the Silos. We made the mistake of having a big breakfast, so didn't try the cupcakes. They looked amazing and I would have loved any in the half-dozen box on offer. So fun to see the layout in person. And don't forget to check out the bathroom. Its getting very worn, but that wallpaper and design is fabulous. Adorable shop!

The line moves fairly quickly, I noticed more people packed in once I was on the way out. Overall, the pricing is decent, about $5 dollars per item. The cinnamon roll has good icing but is a little bit more bread like in texture than I would have like, the cream cheese icing is good though. The cupcakes embodied the flavors they were named after, the toasted coconut and lemon lavender were very tasty! I would return to this place.

Google
These cupcakes are so pretty and tempting. ESP when it says 6 for $25. We got 4 and the icing was so sweet that even kids didn’t eat it. The store is small and quite cramped. There were so many people it wasn’t even funny.

Victoria Donaldson

Google
The place is small so it gets crowded and the lines are long. Their selection includes sweet and savory treats. The staff is courteous and polite. Chocolate cupcake was super moist and delicious. The cookies and creams was a bit dry, not sure how fresh it was. Overall good.

Charmy Unadkat

Google
Silos Baking Co. is definitely worth the hype! I waited 30 minutes for the cupcakes, and I can honestly say it was absolutely worth it. The cupcakes were fresh, perfectly sweet, and so flavorful. The frosting was smooth and creamy, and the cake itself was light and moist. It’s the kind of treat that makes the wait feel like nothing. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by for these delicious cupcakes!

Came on a Thursday afternoon wasn’t too busy. There is a good amount of icing, the cake portion is very moist. Overall tasty and worth the ~$5 per cupcake.

Google
Beautiful little shop. But after watching Joanna bake cupcakes on TV so elegantly for years, we expected them to taste a little bit better. The ingredients tasted cheap and for the almost $50 I spent so we could all try one or two cookies & cupcakes, we didn't finish anything except the blueberry muffin which was moist and delicious and tasted homemade unlike the cupcakes. The staff was a bit cranky but I think I would be too if I always had 30 people in my line : )

Yelp
We came here visiting from California to tour Baylor. We spent two hours here in the silos area. I'm going to say this Oreo cupcake was the best cupcake I've ever had in my entire life. If I lived in Waco, I would be at this bakery often. My daughter had the lemon curd cupcake and loved it also. Such a fun place. Wish I would have tried more.

Ellie N.

Yelp
The silos cookies are a must. Perfect texture and flavor. It's sweet with a good amount of salt to give you a kick in flavor. Cupcakes: I'm torn with the sweetness amount because I'm don't have a sweet tooth. The icing is too sweet for me, but the base pumpkin cake is very nice. The croissant was just ok. It's not buttery enough.

Jim M.

Yelp
Yayyy for Cupcakes.Located in the Magnolia Homes Silos this quaint little shop serves up a variety of sweetness, the folks here provided friendly service and the selection was displayed in glass on counter. We had the Blueberry Crumble which true to the name provided the perfect blend of Crunch and moisture and Strawberry Creme that was loaded with creme that wasn't overly sweet. We sat outside by the Silos to enjoy this treat.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Exceptional quality! The items you get here are high quality and delicious. The service is quick and well organized.

Deborah L.

Yelp
There is always a line but it goes really fast. The menu options are a mix of typical plus unique flavors in a cupcake. It's good and moist but too sweet for my taste. The vibes are what gets me. Good option for a pick me up on a nice day

Sarah W.

Yelp
It's a great small bakery for a quick sweet treat while exploring the Silos. People had raved about the cupcakes so we tried the cookies & cream flavor. I loved that it was made with chocolate cake batter instead of the usual white cake for C&C. The frosting was a super sweet buttercream. It was really good but I don't feel like I have to go back to get it again, might try a different pastry there next time. There was a line here and there but it moved quickly!

Cathrine S.

Yelp
Highly recommend the oatmeal cookie pie, the buttercream filling was perfect and the cookies were moist and loaded with flavor.

Gabi Y.

Yelp
Such a cute little bakery. My friends and I came here on the way to Austin from Dallas and it's easy to get to off the highway. We were in and out. The cupcakes were so yummy and it is a cute little area with the gift shop too. It is super small, so you might have to wait outside if there's a line.

Sophie T.

Yelp
As someone who used to watch Fixer Upper religiously, I had to make a day trip to Magnolia Market while I was in Texas visiting with a friend. I'm SO GLAD we did. The bakery is so cute!! And it's loaded with delicious treats. I got the Shiplap (vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting) and my friend got the cookies and cream cupcake (chocolate cupcake topped with cookies and cream frosting) and they were so cakey, moist, and soft, we couldn't stop raving about them. Also, they're HUGE. We had to rip off the bottom of the cupcake and slap it on top of the frosting to create a little cupcake sandwich. DELICIOUS. Jo knows what she's doing!!

Yelp
I'm not into the whole "Magnolia" hype, BUT Silo Baking Co. is a must-stop for me any time I'm near Waco because the cupcakes are PHENOMENAL! This was my third visit and I've been blown away every time. FAST FACTS: *Parking - free parking is available along 6th St, 8th St, Webster Ave, and in the lot on the corner of 9th St and Webster Ave *Pre-orders - available for a minimum of 3 dozen items and must be placed at least 48 hours in advance * Closed on Sundays SERVICE - Depending on when you go, expect to stand in line. Once you get near the door, a worker will give you a menu card with a pencil to fill out and welcome you inside when there is enough space. You hand your menu card to the cashier, pay, and then they will call your name when your order is ready. The workers tend to be pleasant but you can tell that declines when they're busy. PRICING - The total was $9.50 for a cookies & cream cupcake ($5) and classic cinnamon roll ($4.50). I think the pricing is reasonable for being a more "gourmet" bakeshop. COOKIES & CREAM CUPCAKE (10/10) - I've had all of their standard cupcake flavors and this one is one of my favorites! The chocolate base of the cupcake is the perfect richness and the cookies and cream icing on top is very sweet (which I love). I've ordered this one several times and will continue to do so! CLASSIC CINNAMON ROLL (10/10) - Even eating this several hours after taking it home, it was INCREDIBLE! It's a massive size for the price, and the texture is perfect. It's gooey, cinnamony (that's a word, right?), and the icing on top really ties it together. I'd order this again! If you love sweets, Silo Baking Co. is 100% worth waiting in line for... even in the summer Texas heat! I always take my baked goods home and they are packaged really nicely so they survive the 75 minute drive home without any issues. I'd recommend Silo Baking Co. to others, even if they aren't into the Chip and Joanna scene.

Damian C.

Yelp
An hour and half drive from Austin. An entire HGTV theme park, but home to some of the best cinnamon rolls and cup cakes you'll ever eat!!! I mean delicious!!! Service staff were inviting and friendly. They told what were customer favorites as well as their limited time seasonal selections. Stopped by for the ambiance, left with a dozen cupcakes, and these are HUGE cupcakes btw, and a cinnamon roll. Definitely making a return trip

Jennifer J.

Yelp
I love going to Waco and seeing the Silos. Even more when I can bring my family here when they come to visit. We stopped by the bakery and got some goodies. Ordered the cupcakes and they were all so yummy. My favorites were the lemon lavender, strawberry, shiplap and orange flavored one. The cookies and cream were kind of a let down and the chocolate was not my cup of tea, since it was too rich for my taste. The frosting were too sweet, so I mainly just ate the cake. I made sure to get a chocolate chip cookie too. One of my faves. And the staff were all so friendly. Definitely make sure to stop by and try them all out when you visit.

Andrew A.

Yelp
What a great bakery! Everything we got tasted phenomenal. We tried the oatmeal cookie and the cinnamon roll- both were 10/10! The bakery doesn't seem to be well run... I was the only one in line in the stanchions and waiting my turn to order. People kept entering through the "exit" door and would continue ordering ahead of me. There were four employees behind the counter and only one employee was taking order. I don't know what the other three were doing... Then as customers exited, they walked through the stanchions (the line forming behind me) to exit through the "enter" door. It was just unorganized and took a long time to order.

John W.

Yelp
I had a good experience at silos baking. There was no line, the food was good and not super expensive. The interior was very nice. I went to silos baking on a Monday (Memorial Day!) I was expecting it to be packed and expensive - it was neither of those things. Service was very quick. I got the chocolate chip cookie. It was ok, but definitely not worth $4. The oatmeal cream pie was a little too sweet as well. Overall, it was still a fun experience and I'm glad I stopped in. I probably wouldn't go back expecting the most amazing food, but it's still fun

Mary W.

Yelp
Extremely cute bakery, great location, competitive prices, and delectable baked goods! This place was a real treat. I stopped in on Wednesday when roaming the Silos. There was a small wait which went fast, but it let me know that weekends here are probably slammed! Parking is a little tough. We parked on the street behind the train track and I do think there was a garage there for public parking. The ordering system is quite simple. You check off your items on a card and hand it to the cashier. Easy as pie. My friend and I got an array of goods. I got the Strawberries and Cream cupcake, Classic Cinnamon roll, and The Prize Pig. DELICIOUS! All amazing. It was a really tough choice! The Prize Pig was my favorite. Cheddary, bacony, buttery biscuit. My friend got the Carrot Cake cupcake and oatmeal cookie. We snacked on these for days!! I wish I lived near here to go back weekly. Make sure you check out Silos Baking!

Eid F.

Yelp
Very cool building and overall area around the bakery. Very clean and beautiful landscaping. Lot's of seating outside (no seating inside bakery). The cup cake flavors were unique and sounded delicious BUT they were just ok... most of the cupcakes were dry. Ordered a Spring Box and a few more cupcakes not included in the spring box... Was hoping for soooooo much better... pretty disappointed. The chocolate cupcake was DELICIOUS!! There was a line but they were prepared by handing everyone an order form in advance to speed up the ordering. Line moved fairly quickly. I would return to try the Magnolia diner next door... probably wouldn't buy any cupcakes again.

Barbara N.

Yelp
Cupcakes were vey dry. Seemed like they were previously frozen or just old. Chocolate chip cookie was ok but not the best I have had. $21 for 3 cupcakes and a cookie. I expected more. Disappointed.

Matt N.

Yelp
Cute little bakery shop in Waco, TX. In Magnolia Silos by Chip & Joanna Gaines. Limited pastries item. The whole facilities are beautiful. The cupcakes were very good and moist. The frosting was flavorable. Service was quick during the afternoon.

Rav A.

Yelp
The line was long but moved pretty quickly. There is a "menu" by the door where you can mark your order and hand it to a cashier. Then your name is called when your order is ready. The classic chocolate chip cookies were excellent! Cupcakes were good too. We ate so fast; I didn't even take a photo.

Dave M.

Yelp
Great coffee (says my wife and daughter). Neat place to sit, and relax. Great pastries and treats. Service is fast, prices aren't bad.

Maisha H.

Yelp
This was my first time in Waco and I was told that I must stop by the Silos. Granted I don't watch HGTV so I'm not into the hype surrounding the celebrity designers. However I am a food snob so the bakery was definitely on the to do list! As far as the ambiance, it was very well organized with the host at the door distributing the menus and two cashiers up front. The line was to the door when we arrived, but as the host stated, it moved very quickly. We ordered a lavender strawberry cupcake , (I'm pretty sure that's what she said although that option was not on the menu since it's seasonal and it also didn't allow me to select that for the picture description.) My son had a chocolate chip cookie and then I got the vegan salted caramel cookie which was prepackaged. My son devoured his cookie, but he is six years old and will eat anything that contains sugar with pleasure. Upon biting into my cookie, it tasted like a brick of salt. The vegan cookie was horrible. I know I know, most people reading this are probably thinking "who would go to a bakery in TX and order vegan treats". But my main reason was because I love salted caramel so I figured it would be great vegan or not; but that was not so. It was overly salty and hard with hints of caramel. They need to start over and try again. The cupcake had a nice flavor and was nice and moist with a ton of icing on top of course. If you go, my suggestion is to stick to the cupcakes and probably the fresh, non-prepackaged cookies. I also had the rose and lavender Tea, which was interesting yet refreshing.

Darelle G.

Yelp
I've been to the Silos before and truly love the area. This time I drove from Dallas specifically to try the Bakery! There was a special for $25 box of the summer flavors. The cupcakes are very pretty and the icing is nice and dense- but very sweet. I ate mainly the cake portion and scraped off the icing. I must say I am normally not a fan of any type of icing, so I do this with all cake and cupcakes.

Gohar K.

Yelp
I'm a bit disappointed with the quality of the pastries sold here. First of all they look like packaged cookies that have just been removed from bags and taste super sweet. Like you are eating artificial flavored sugar and I don't know what cookies. Same with the cupcakes. Very disappointing. The shop is super cute just like everything else at the Silos. Customer service is friendly. Believe it or not we didn't eat the cookies we bought. Just one bite and we were done ....

Bella O.

Yelp
Not a sweets person at all but the chocolate chip cookie and the s'mores cupcake are amazing!

Dennis D.

Yelp
Cupcakes were old tasting. Seems to be going downhill maybe they weee old. Not sur. Very nice folks but not as good as they used to be.

Winnie Y.

Yelp
I loved the space, it was beautifully decorated. There are no indoor seating, only outside. My husband and I went first thing in the morning there wasn't a line but did the see the line wrapped around the block later on in the day. We didn't even go during a busy season The cupcake was good but I think I preferred the chocolate chip cookie more. I don't think they are anything that special though and probably wouldn't get it again now that we have tried them.

Kari S.

Yelp
This is part of the Magnolia Silo area. We apparently arrived at a very busy time, they only allowed a few people inside at a time. We were left to stand outside in 100 degree weather, unfortunately there is no shade in that area so keep that in mind - we allowed an elderly couple to go ahead of us as she was looking overheated. There is no seating inside, you are able to take your items and sit in the outdoor seating area within the complex. You are handed a menu and pencil when you walk in, and once you get to the counter you just hand over the menu. All the staff were very busy and seemed preoccupied, while no one was unfriendly they were only there to serve you. The only acknowledgment we received was the amount of our bill. We ordered a Vanilla Cupcake (which was very lemony- I wish it was more vanilla flavored, wouldn't order again), a Brownie Cookie, a Chocolate Chip Cookie, and a Salted Carmel Cookie. The cookies were delicious.

Jesse B.

Yelp
Who doesn't love sweets . Love the variety of flavors and the decor inside is nice . The service is very good considering how busy they always are.

Lauren-Ashley B.

Yelp
When you walk in you can smell how amazing the baked goods are. Service was warm and welcoming, the cupcakes were moist and the icing was soft, just amount of sugar and it went perfect with my coffee

Clayton B.

Yelp
Had to pop into this bakery when in Waco recently. Small space in itself, but so much to see and explore around the actual silos. Plenty cupcakes to choose from here, from seasonal to traditional. Some cookies and other treats to offer as well. Went with a pumpkin spice cupcake with cream cheese frosting and a silo cookie. The cupcake was decadent, subtle pumpkin spice flavor, cupcake wasn't even remotely dry and the frosting was delicious. The cookie was ok, a bit dry and not much flavor. Service was great. Worth dropping by if you're in Waco.

Danielle V.

Yelp
We arrived 10 mins before opening to grab breakfast because we were told there was always a line... but I was the first in line. Ordered the Pig biscuit and took it back to our place to heat up. Tasted amazing.

Peter L.

Yelp
Didn't have high expectations for this as food isn't what they are known for, but these were some of the best cupcakes we've had. Tried the Lemon and lavender, chocolate, cookies and cream, and short break cookies. Everything was delicious and nicely presented. It is a bit of an assembly line in there, but you are really just grabbing a snack before or after hitting the shops so it is fine. Highly recommend the cupcakes (lemon and lavender was one of the best cupcakes I've ever had.)

Stephanie Sprouse S.

Yelp
Daughter loves the oatmeal pies. Friendly service. Located at the beautifully designed Silos.

Angie G.

Yelp
Super tasty, fresh gluten free goods, beautiful location, amazing design, this is a must-go place in Waco

Alice T.

Yelp
I'll preface that I am not a fangirl of Fixer Upper/Chip and Joanne Gaines. I never watched their shows or followed their work. I just happened to be in Waco and from research I learned that Magnolia is the biggest attraction there. I parked closest to Silos Baking and decided to check the place out since there was a small line out the door. We got a cupcake, cinnamon roll, prize pig, and a cookie. All the treats were good, but it's not spectacular or special. It wasn't that Instagrammable either for those who do it for the 'gram. Maybe the place is to show off that you're at the Silos. Giving four stars because the service was good and the treats were good. I feel that this place would truly be appreciated if you're a fan of the Gaines.

Elizabeth N.

Yelp
I was excited to try the Silos Baking. I honestly didn't have any expectations but it blew my mind! To be honest I thought the cupcake was going to be small, but i was wrong!! The cupcake was BIG and it was listed for a decent price it was not overpriced. Sometimes you go to a known cupcake place and the cupcakes are overpriced for the size. The flavor and taste was DELISH and it wasn't dry. Definitely worth trying and yes you may have to wait in line but it went by quickly when i went. The good thing is that they give you a form to fill to order your cupcakes. So you already have an idea of what you want to order. The place is tiny, but you can eat your goodies outside. Since there's a sitting area. Overall, i highly recommend trying Silos Baking!

Rachel B.

Yelp
I was ready to be wowed by this bakery but I may have set my expectations too high. I was very excited to try the seasonal offering after watching the Silos Baking Competition. The winner made a delicious-looking devil cake and I love chocolate! The actual pastry from the bakery was different than the one from the show winner. It tasted more like a pastry from a grocery store than a bakery. My mom got a classic chocolate chip cookie. Neither of us liked the cookie. The line was not that long when we were there, which was a plus. Both the cookie and the devil cake were large, which would have been a plus if we liked them. The prices weren't too much for the simple pastries.

Jessica P.

Yelp
These cupcakes are the best I've ever had in my entire life, not exaggerating. They're so soft and flavorful, yet not overly sweet. The frosting is to die for. Amazing service and the decoration is beautiful as expected.

Kelly Y.

Yelp
The big draw to this place is the Gaines, of course. I am not familiar with them, but my friends were excited to try it. The cinnamon roll ($4.50) was really good. They had quite a few cupcakes and cookies available for purchase. To drink, only water, Dr. Pepper and Elderflower lemonade. The employees were nice and helpful.

Courtney W.

Yelp
Great spot for quick grab & go decadent pastries! We split a giant cookie and a seasonal cupcake.

Grace B.

Yelp
We came here on a day trip because my cousin from Hawaii was in town. She was a former baker at the Magnolia in Honolulu, Hawaii. She loved working there, so it was a treat for her to visit where it originated. We bought every kind of their cupcakes and a vanilla bean shortbread cookie. We all took a sample bite of each cupcake. I would have to say the presentation is beautiful. Tasting each one was always delicious. Airy frosting and fluffy cake. Scrumptious and delicious. I wasn't too fond of the shortbread cookie. I don't know. Maybe it's because I like simple shortbread cookies. But it was EDIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE. The interior of this bakery is very rustic country and modern. Reminds me of like old money Hamptions. My cousin who was a former employee said this is the theme country luxury. Very pretty. Outside they have picnic tables to eat at and an entire landscape to explore like a garden, an open park area. Lots of photography opportunities. Love this place!

Tania D.

Yelp
Visited Magnolia Market today and had to stop here for cupcakes. The line is long so come prepared. We waited about 30 minutes. They hand you a menu where you can mark your items ahead of time which is good, but the line still moves a little slow because the cashier still has to enter your order into the register. They should have a person taking the orders ahead of time in line and you just pay when you get to the front. The cupcakes however were good, but the icing on them is the big hit here. We ordered the Shiplap and the Lemon Lavender cupcakes. They were delicious. We also ordered the cinnamon roll which was amazing. We really enjoyed the desserts here. The store is cute and a must stop if you're visiting the Silos.

Julie S.

Yelp
Highly recommend this bake shop! The frosting on the cupcakes is INCREDIBLE. I did the walking tour of magnolia and our guide works at the Silos Baking Co and she said the standard is if they wouldn't hand the cupcake to Joanna Gaines, they won't hand it to a customer. And I believe it! The seasonal box has cupcakes for the price of 1 free. They also have gluten free cookies, that are delicious. Pro tip go first thing in the morning to avoid the lines and simply save the treat to enjoy later.

Alyssa R.

Yelp
Always enjoying stopping by the Silos Baking company. I find that the best test for a bakery is the standard chocolate chip cookie and I truly enjoy their every time. Just enough saltiness to balance the sweetness. Next favorite is the Silo cookie. Peanut buttery and oatmeal goodness! Even with a line going around the corner, I don't feel like the wait is too long. The cashiers are good about keeping the line moving but are still able to offer helpful suggestions to the new or indecisive patrons

Steve L.

Yelp
My wife is a fan of the show Fixer Upper and while in Texas a necessity stop was the Silos in Waco. Our first stop was this bake shop that had a long line outside of it. Upon making the line they handed out a paper menu so you could order while in line. Great idea in speeding things up. We choose the Strawberries n Cream and Lavendar and Lemon cupcakes. We also ordered the chocolate chip cookies, the prize pig biscuit and were sold on the cinnamon rolls as they were fresh out of the oven once we were at the register. We also ordered a Elderflower Lemonade. The cupcakes were simple and moist. I didn't find them out of this world. But sometimes less is more and this is a perfect example of that. As for the chocolate chip cookie, it was really good. Chewy and crunchy at the same time with a good amount of chocolate. Elderflower Lemonade was a small bottle from the fridge. I was expecting something freshly made. But either way it was good. But the highlight was the unexpected cinnamon roll. Wow it was just so fresh and I mean how can you go wrong. It's a cinnamon roll. And I devoured it before I could even blink. They had a very nice outside area to sit and eat. The weather was great but I can see if it wasn't how that could be an issue. Overall it was a great bakeshop which obviously wins from being part of this show.

Yuri C.

Yelp
Silo's is undeniably one of the most popular cupcake spots in Magnolia, evident from the long line stretching out the door. Despite our attempt to be early birds, arriving first thing in the morning, there was still a line - but let me assure you, it's absolutely worth the wait. My friend and I opted for the strawberry cupcake and the seasonal pumpkin flavor. What sets Silo's apart is the well-balanced sweetness of their frosting, perfectly complemented by the moist cupcake bread. It's not overly sugary, creating a delightful harmony of flavors. We also tried their coffee, which might not be on par with Blue Bottle, but it's definitely worth a shot.

Carol M.

Yelp
I tried a couple flavors of cupcakes, lemon and lavender and strawberry cream. The cake was extremely dry and frosting ok. Expect a wait to get into the bakery itself.

Mariah S.

Yelp
Really enjoyed everything we had! We sampled a few items and were not disappointed by anything we ate. Definitely recommend!

Kevin Z.

Yelp
Quick stop at in Waco at Magnolia on a roadtrip. Picked up some awesome cupcakes. Great variety, quick friendly service. It's definitely worth the stop and the stores and food trucks make for a beautiful rest stop if you're passing through the area!
