Yelp
Silva's is a Brazilian restaurant with an All You Can Eat feast ($29.99/dinner) and an additional menu that you can order from. I feel like they are a discounted less fulfilling version of the Brazilian churrascaria experience I am used to.
When my cousins picked this spot for dinner, I made a reservation for 3 on my trusty Yelp app and discovered they were closed between 4-5pm. We got there a little before 5pm and waited patiently for opening time for their transition to dinner.
There was a cold section, warm section and the meats were all behind the counter. The selection was also very limited.
I was not too into the selection of veggies offered. Of the ones I did pick I was not too impressed. The cheese balls were on the small side. The truffle mac and cheese was not well coated in sauce.
From the meat section, they only had tri tip, sausage, garlic sirloin, chicken legs, skirt steak, pichanha, pork ribs and lamb. I was really hoping to see my favorites like filet mignon wrapped in bacon and chicken hearts, so I was a bit disappointed. Not only was their selection limited, from what they did have, I was not too impressed. My cousins did not like the sausage. The three of us agreed that the skirt steak was tough and chewy. The garlic sirloin was ALL FAT. The pichanha is your best bet.
Service here was also lacking with some confusion and wrong meats when I was at the meat station. The wait staff also kept coming around trying to clear plates I was still eating from... like I was ACTIVELY eating from it. I felt discouraged to get up for more food until I finished my plate or else she would clear my plate prematurely and waste food.
Since one of my cousin is pregnant with her cute cravings, we also added an order of her favorite Coxinha de Frango ($10) separate from the all you can eat experience. This is a chicken croquette with Brazilian cream cheese that comes in a 4 piece serving. It was a pretty good chicken croquette, but a bit rich.
The next time I crave pichanha and cheese balls, I will be sticking to Agora in Irvine. They have a superior selection of high quality ingredients, more variety and the gaucho guys walking around to serve my meat.
