Silver Beach Pizza

We had such a delightful evening with our nomad friends in St. Joe and chose Silver Beach Pizza for dinner. I can’t recommend it enough—10/10! We picked it specifically because of their clearly designated gluten-free and allergy-aware menu, and they truly delivered. The pizzas were fantastic (and that’s saying something coming from a Chicago girl!). I’m not a deep-dish lover, but I do appreciate a great thin crust, and Silver Beach nailed it. We ordered the Garlicky Greek with dairy-free cheese, plus a gluten-free cheese pizza—both were absolutely delicious. The prices were very reasonable, and the staff was super friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. I’d totally go back again!

Pizza is usually delicious, that's why we come back. Understandably seating is hard to get without a 2 hour wait. But the server giving the pizza we ordered was so UNFRIENDLY. She gets a 1/10 (because at least she handed me the pizza) We'll probably be back next season when we visit, hopefully she won't be 🤣 We got the cheesy bread, very good. Kids say 8.5/10. Got UJ Sunburst pizza, weird but decent and fresh tasting. Kid says 5/10 (I say 7.5/10) And got BBQ chicken pizza, good. Kids day 6/10 (I say 7/10.

Stopped in and tried a gluten free pizza which i really enjoyed, a regular pizza, gluten free breadsticks quite dense consistency. My son enjoyed the chicken tenders and fries. No wait to be seated on a busy Thursday beach day. The fans felt great as a break from the heat.

Was told there was a 20 minute wait, and we were sat within 7. Server was super nice and food came out quickly. I really enjoyed the Irish Nachos (loaded fries) and my mom loved the Bruschetta. Pizza crust was crispy and delicious. Really neat place! Would definitely visit again next time we are visiting town.

We were visiting and after watching sunset on the beach came here. We got 2 different pizzas because they all sounded amazing. This place did not disappoint!!! Best BBQ chicken pizza I've ever had. We will definitely be back to visit. We felt bad for coming in 20 minutes before closing but they were so nice and friendly to us. Great service and amazing pizza!!!!

Ryan was our server and he was excellent. We ordered the garlic Greek pizza and he recommended putting bacon and banana pepper on it. It was so good and the best pizza I’ve had at silver beach pizza and I’ve had most of them being local. Thank you Ryan for great service and for the cooks for a great pizza. The fried green tomatoes were top notch and the salad was really good.

Here’s what you need to know about this awesome pizza place. 1. They have an incredible server names Karissa. She is really good at her job. 2. They have a 21 and older section on the rooftop - otherwise you’re in the main dining with all ages 3. The pizza is unique! Most of the pizzas have toppings BELOW the cheese. 4. It’s an old train station and yes, trains still go by. 5. Parking is insane so seek a larger lot further away and make the short hike. You’ll thank me later. 6. Call ahead. It’s important. Get in the waitlist. Dropping in at a dinner or lunch hour with expectations to be immediately seated, is right-out 7. Eat here. Do it.

No wait for us. Our server, Alexander was friendly and checked on us regularly. We ordered a half and half pizza. My wife ordered the Meat Mania and my half was the Whirlpool Wonder. The pizza came loaded with toppings, crust was traditional style, not too thick or thin. Great taste. It rated as one of my top pizzas I've had.

Love this place! GREAT pizza, great ambiance, and great service. We got the Sicilian pizza and it was delicious... I'll be dreaming about it for months. Love how they serve the beers in goblet glasses

Friendly and fast service. Food was delicious! Great place for a family after the beach. For adults only there's a nice bar area on the upper level.

I never remember to review this place when I come because I'm distracted by beach day, but my crew really love to eat here! It has a fun vacation-feeling ambiance when you dine in, especially if you sit in one of the patio or open areas where the windows are all open. My favorite this about this place is The David's pizza. My boyfriend doesn't eat a lot of things including cheese, so sometimes pizza can be a bit of a dud, but everyone in our group (even the cheese lovers) LOVE this pizza. I can't explain it. It just has the perfect balance of sauce, the sauce has a little spicy kick to it, and then meat and onions and things are perfectly carmelized. It is just wonderful. The other pizzas we have tried have been pretty good also. But if you are only in town and likely to visit the one time, I recommend The David.

I was able to be added to the waitlist via my cell phone while I was on Lake Michigan. I got a text message indicating that I was on the list and then a second text message indicating my table was ready this process saved everyone time and is excellent. when we got there, everyone was super professional very nice our server was Olivia. She was a superstar. She helped elevate the already great mood. She gave excellent service. she brought my kids tenders out when they were ready rather than waiting for the pizza that was thoughtful, the tenders were actually really good. I didn't feel like I was buying some generic tenders, but rather these were really tasty and satisfying. The pizza came out and it was fantastic. We ordered a margarita pizza and asked for add additional onion on half. The processes saved my time the pizza was the best I've had outside of my hometown and the service is the kind of service that makes you want to tip more than the standard 20%, but rather feel good about tipping. 10 out of 10 for service, 11 out of 10 for personality of Olivia and all the staff and 11 out of 10 for taste of the food this restaurant needs to teach other restaurants how to serve, cook and set up process.

Wow! Thank goodness for bar seating! The wait was 2-2.5 hours Saturday afternoon. We lucked out! We ordered the Sicilian pizza medium which was phenomenal! Salami, sausage, pepperoni and olives! Perfection and not bad for breakfast either... we had leftovers My schooner of sangria was perfect on this hot day. I absolutely loved the jalapeño margarita as well. The tequila is infused with jalapeños impeccably! I am so glad we came here. Best meal we've had in St Joe

SO much to love about SBP... Best views in SW Michigan. Definitely plan to see an amazing sunset while you dine! My husband & I go to the over 21 Lounge located on the top level. Fair warning, it is always crowded so little tough to pop in but the wait is always worth it. Our favorite bartender is Brent. He is the best! Always happy & professional. SBP has the best cauliflower pizza & really good salads & wings. My husband gets regular sausage pizza & it is also super yummy! This place is a MUST visit when in St. Joes!

The best pizza I've had all summer! Instead of just having classic mozzarella on our pizza, we added Gouda and it was fantastic! The mozzarella sticks and breadsticks were also delicious. For those 21+, the margarita schooners are the best. So tasty and cold! We will literally drive 2 hours just to get a pizza from here every summer! If you go in the summer, know that the wait will be at least an hour. Bring cards to play outside or head over for a carousel ride while you wait. It's worth the wait!

9/30/23 We came here with the family for lunch. From where we were sitting, we got a nice view of Silver Beach. When we got there, the restaurant was already busy. Here's what we ordered: - Whirlpool Wonder Pizza - Large pizza: 1/2 cheese and 1/2 pepperoni - Wedge salad and Anti-pasta salad (not pictured) There were 8 of us in our lunch group and we still had some leftover pizza. The pizzas overall were just okay, not amazing nor terrible. The toppings for the whirlpool pizza were not distributed evenly, so if you got pieces around the edges it was mostly just cheese. I appreciated that they cut the pizza into squares so we could pace ourselves. People ordered a variety of beers to drink as well. The salads weren't fantastic but at least I got some vegetables in that meal. Service was good, but I probably wouldn't return here for such mediocre pizza.

Food - 3.5/5 Service - 3.5/5 Ambience - 3.5/5 Value - 3.5/5 The best part about SBP is the view of Lake Michigan. There are lots of pizzas to choose from, though the flat thin crust is not my favorite, it often seems over done. This is a great place to come with friends for a night hang out and good place to bring out of towners.

A perfect 5 star! This place is a "Gotta go every time we visit Silver Beach"! The pizza tastes amazing... despite the slight long wait. The location is perfect if you have to wait a while! The compass splash pad, the carousel, the stairs to St. Joseph's downtown area, and Silver Beach State Park!! Our surroundings were very calming and satisfying. If you want to visit Silver Beach for yourself and pizza is the #1 thing you will eat, I would recommend going here!

Top notch pizza, second only to another unmentionable, but not worth it if the wait is over 30 minutes - and it usually is. Well...if you're hungry, really hungry, it's not worth the wait. Lol! Last note, this is a place you must dine-in and try at least once if you're visiting.

Great pizza, the pepperonis are outstanding! My daughter loved the Caesar salad as she is a fanatic about her Caesar salads. The place is very accommodating for a Sunday evening unlike the Burger Brew place down the street that has lazy employees. If this place was near my house in the Chicago Suburbs I would be ordering every week! The staff was nice and the prices are more than reasonable. Keep up the great pizza making Silver Lake!

O stars Don't go here !!!! So I ordered my pizza was waiting never got a text. It was ready then when I asked for plates and napkins, the girl in the front her name was Elle threw the napkins and plates at me. Spoke to the manager and all he could say is I'm going to talk to her don't go there and the pizza was not good at all zero stars . It ruined my day and on top of that we turned in a phone that we found at this place never got a thank you.

Awesome place! Location can't be beat - and the pizza was really, really good. The flavors all meshed and the crust was just the perfect amount of crisp. Yes, it's busy but worth the wait. (Awesome people watching to keep you occupied).

Food- ordered a cheese pizza and a vegetable pizza. Both pizzas lacked flavor and the cheese was very chewy and different. The crust tasted like it had been previously frozen. Service- ordered pick up from a window. The youngsters that operate the establishment during the summer are quite rude. Ambiance- none This has to be one of the worst pizzas that I've had. It literally tasted like cardboard. It went right into the garbage. Would not recommend. Avoid... even if you are starving.

Meghan has a great sense of humor lol! She also had wonderful service to match. I brought my family here for the great tasting vegan pizza and drinks. It's always busy and loud here as people are enjoying themselves. It's a super family friendly outing with something for everyone.

I've been told by many people to come here to try the pizza. I was not impressed by the pizza. The location is great, next to the "beach" and a rail road. Service was great. We got a large half carousel and meat mania, medium boom pizza . Hitman wings were great. We had reservation for the rooftop. It has a sports bar atmospheres. Carousel is pretty much a supreme pizza , meat mania is meat lovers and boom is bang bang shrimp With cabbage on top which was my least favorite.

I ordered takeout after spending the day at the beach right down the street. This place is located conveniently near the lake and has a huge parking lot, rooftop, and takeout window. I received a text notification that my order was ready to go within 20 minutes. Pizza was hot, fresh, and yummy.

Came all the way here from Phoenix! Absolutely love this place. The pizza we got was soooo good. It was the garlic something I can't remember what it's called (sorry) but BOY was it some of the best pizza. Our waitress was attentive and fast with service. And of course the ambiance is amazing!! One of the best locations in the world.

Phone never eats first when it's Silver Beach Pizza! This is one of my husband and I's favorite pizza spots and it was a must to celebrate my birthday in St. Joseph, MI! Our server, Camryn, was busy but tended to any need. She was by far one of the best servers we've had. The pizza is always to die for, this time we tried the BQQ Chicken. We typically get the Garlic Greek,, if you've never had it please do yourself a favor and check it out! We live about an hour away and always take a pizza home, snack for later right? Our favorite spot is across from the first floor bar by the tracks. First time we've seen a train go by so that was loud but also expected! Even though they had a 30-45 minute wait we were seated in only 20 and as always, had a great meal in a perfect spot.

We had a pleasant meal. We came on a Saturday, checked in with hostess 5:28pm and at 7:28pm, 2 hours exactly we were seated. We were a party of 2. It was busy even though the beach was closed for swimming due to weather. When we checked in we were told 1 hr -1hr 1/2 and it went over some. I tried to check if we could reserve ahead of time but this wasn't an option. We ordered our food when we ordered our drinks to speed things up since we were super hungry after long wait. The appetizers came out within 10 min of ordering and the drinks as well. The pizza came out when we finished out appetizers. We enjoyed everything, especially Pizza which was really good and the reason for our visit. I like my salad chopped up into smaller pieces, and this salad was not chopped, but the taste was good. my advice if I were to return back, I would not go on a weekend or I would go before dinner way before like one or 2pm. I would say this is not good for a big party on weekends. You can order from side window and eat on beach.

Excellent food. We love this place. My kids always beg for the pizza here. It's unique with its own style.

The location is super cool, the restaurant occupies an old train depot. Parking is a bit tight during peak times, but it's a nice little walk down to the beach while you wait. The hostess and server were friendly and attentive. Food was warm and drink was cold and got to the table quick. No issues at all. But also nothing that would bring us back. We ordered breadsticks and pizza. Both were good, again nothing to get excited about one way or the other. If you are looking for a nice evening out and a lot of options for decent pizza... enjoy!

We attempt to dine here and/or pickup food to go whenever we're in town to visit. This past Saturday night was no exception -- we made the 60 minute drive over to catch a Lake Michigan sunset & enjoy amazing pizza. Yes -- you may have to wait up to an hour to get seated during prime times -- but outdoor seating for waiting guests is a fairly pleasant affair with the famous water cannons/fountain shooting off nearby; the people watching and oh yea -- witnessing the AMTRAC stopping for passengers. The pizza is what we primarily always come for -- and this was excellent as always. We tried an appetizer we hadn't ordered before -- the shrimp jammers (fried shrimp stuffed with spicy cheese) -- so we'll be getting that again next trip! Our server had to be exhausted as busy as they were -- but she didn't show it -- very pleasant, happy and attentive. If you've never ventured out to Silver Beach -- it's well worth the effort.

Bang bang pizza. We are obsessed! That is all I have to say!!! We loved it so much we ate it back to back days while on our vacation.

Great spot! Made reservations for the rooftop (21+ FYI) and was seated immediately. Beachy, casual, happening vibe with great view of beach. Ordered whirlpool pizza- if you like toppings more than pizza, you will enjoy. Highly recommend apple pie flavored mule. Great service, food, and ambiance. Will be back for more mules!

I've been here so many times and I will always keep coming back. The rooftop is to die for with great drinks and better pizza. I always get the harvest but have had so many other types. The service is great, the atmosphere is amazing for family or for friends in town, and the food is always good.

Omg! Loved this place. Went there with a few coworkers and the Greek Garlic pizza was AMAZING. Had tons of garlic and pepperoni. To die for. The service was great, our server was really nice. It was clean and the bar looked fun. Nice views of the beach! Would recommend!

Great location, especially if you can get upstairs! Started with the shrimp jammers.... fantastic! Crunchy deliciousness Meat pizza was perfection! This crust, crispy....sauce, savory....toppings, plentiful. Ray, our server, was fantastic! Come to this area and stop in for a fabulous meal and beautiful view. Parking is...good luck find a spot and park for the day!

Our waitress, Cam, was amazing! We had a group of 8, and she was so attentive, even though the restaurant was packed. She was able to remember who ordered what, and she made it look easy! The pizza was some of the best I've ever had. I got a small Sicilian pizza. There was definitely enough for 2 people. I ate half and had the rest as leftovers (which were great cold the next day). They have a wide selection of beverages and I was really happy with the different ones I ordered.

Unfortunately I started writing this review near the end of our three hour wait. (We were quoted 1.5 hours when we put our name on the list). I guess waiting 2x isn't terrible if you're going from 15-30 minutes. This was a beating. The hostesses weren't rude, but just kind of shrugged their shoulders when we started inquiring after our first two hours. I guess this is typical. Be forewarned. We were #5-#2 on the list for the last 45 minutes of the wait. Party of 5 if you're wondering. Once we finally got to our table, Zack was great. We were hungry enough I'm not sure we would have turned up our nose at microwave pizza, but this pizza was really good. We ordered one with Alfredo sauce and ham, one half cheese half feta and green olives, and one gluten free Parugula. Wife has a gluten allergy and the GF pizza was helpfully labeled with a sticker. Especially good since the GF crust was actually comparable to the regular crust (not prepackaged Udi's like most places). I sampled it - definitely different from the gluten-full, and pretty darn good. All said, it's obvious to us why this place is so popular (aside from just its clear monopoly on eateries in town). And if you've got wide open plans and want to hang out on the beach indefinitely while you wait for your table, you won't be sorry. If you've got young kids, other plans for the rest of your day, or need something timely by anyone's definition, probably best to skip this one.

If you find yourself in St. Joseph, Michigan (as you should) and you're searching for a great place to eat and drink an ice cold beer, Silver Beach Pizza has to be at the top of your list. Well-known for the 18oz "schooner" glasses, Silver Beach Pizza is nestled in the perfect location in St. Joseph just at the bottom of the stairs from downtown and just off the beach. If you're coming in by train it's in the same building as the Amtrak station (how cool!). Family friendly, kid friendly, and rather large you can probably find somewhere to sit, but reservations are highly recommended especially during the summer. While my favorite thing about Silver Beach Pizza (besides the giant beers) is obviously the pizza, it's only the pizza because they used to have absolutely incredible wings - hence the 4-star review. For those of us who know Silver Beach Pizza pre-pandemic they had seriously some of the best wings and sauce I think I've ever had. Today? While certainly flavorful, the wings are a mockery of what chicken wings are supposed to be. At $8.99 or thereabouts the tiny wings are a hard pass for us. Actually smaller than what I see in stores if you can believe that. Give the calzone and other appetizers a try while you're there. If space is available the upstairs bar is pretty nice too, and a bit more adult friendly.

My coworkers and I wound up going upstairs for dinner - the upstairs area was really nice even in crappy weather. Dinner was good with two people getting pizzas on the menu while I got a build-your-own. The beer selection was pretty good as well. Service was a little slow for refill on waters and such, but it was pretty busy. Overall, it was a solid choice, though not standout. I am a bit picky on pizza options so I may be tough on that. I would come back, especially if I built my own again.

Loved the pizza, flavors were great and crust even better. We sat upstairs in the bar area which was less crowded and more comfortable. We will be back next time we are in St Joseph!

Fabulous food. Enjoyed the beer, great pickle spears and very tasty pizza of the month. Service was very friendly, and pretty quick for a pizza to order. There seems to be a lot of fuss about the crust and the toppings. It is a thin chewy crust with this toppings, but not a crazy amount of cheese. Very enjoyable. Fun casual place with good food, draft beer, and custom cocktails. Parking is very strange and convoluted, but not a problem, I navigated a big SUV without any trouble. BUT pay attention to the directions so that you can leave when you are ready. And if you are already close by, just walk.

Awesome location, and pizza is the best around by a long shot. Order the Harvest pizza for something different that we loved. The schooner of beer is also a treat, love the frosted glass and fits the vibe perfectly. Then, a walk out to the pier with friends... Don't miss this one

Only complaint was the wait and the pizza wasn't done in the middle but it tasted good

We ordered the Greek pizza and a couple of Mango Margs which were spectacular. No skimping on the liquor. Also ordered an Italian side salad which was as l expected, perfect portion and delicious. Got there at 1:30-ish and hot right in. Not usually the case as this place is always hoppin'. Waitress was attentive, friendly and offered suggestions. Great pizza place. Several years ago my husband ordered a pasta dish that had WAAAAY too much olive oil. Not sure if they fixed that, but pizza is always outstanding. Order it "extra done" for the perfect crispy crust!

Unique taste pizza, nice atmosphere, great location. A bit pricey. Wait time are usually 20 minutes plus. Does have its own parking lot in the back and the entrance has now moved to the back so you can check in right away if you park in the back.

We ordered the Harvest Pizza and it is without a doubt our favorite! Excellent menu! Absolutely delicious!

I'm not sure how to write this review. Visiting SBP was very unique. In a perfect world I could give the food 3 stars and the pick up experience like 1 star, basically just for the kind staff. For starters, if you're someone who doesn't enjoy a stressful parking situation, this is NOT the place for you. The parking lot is extremely long and skinny and getting into / through it is unlike anything I have ever experienced - both confusing and feels like a weird haunted house or video game. The pizza is what I think is more 'Detroit style'. It kind of reminded us a Lunchable pizza and seemed super pricey. We weren't feeling brave enough to try one of their house options but maybe they would be better. The kale salad was excellent. The added chicken portion wasn't skimpy like you sometimes see and the ingredients were fresh and well portioned/evenly distributed throughout. Really enjoyed this and would gladly eat again. Price felt super reasonable here. We wanted to try the wings but they don't do those to go, which in hindsight makes sense. The pick up process takes awhile and they likely wouldn't be very good by the time they got to you no matter what.

Last day for lunch in the 2024 season, so glad we made it! We we promptly seated, drinks arrived quickly. This place seats a lot of people! You will definitely need to park somewhere other than their lot. Pizza was exceptional, we will be returning again and again.

Sliver beach is my favorite pizza. The place is nice and clean. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The pizza is always fantastic. It's a good place to go eat pizza and to hangout.

Such a cool place! Right by the train tracks. Parking while you eat is close. The kids got dough to play with while waiting. Our favorite was the cheese pizza! Yum! So good!

1st time in St.Joes and stopped up here because of all the great reviews I'm by no means a "Pizza Aficionado", but I can at least recognize a decent pizza, and this is all this was- DECENT, not great, not spectacular, DECENT- it got the job done. When the pizza came i was a little puzzled by the looks of it.The toppings were under the cheese and the cheese appeared to be orange, like cheddar cheese. The crust was very hard and tasted stale.. it actually tasted very similar to a frozen Tony's pizza you get at the grocery store. My husband and I both ordered a schooner beer and they were coldest beers we've ever had! Our waiter was awesome and very knowledgeable. If we are ever back in town we'll stop in for a beer and maybe try something else, but not the pizza.

I trusted the reviews on this place, and I deeply regretted it. I not only waited 45+ minutes for my two pizzas, but when I received them, the pizza had hardly, if not any sauce. I do not want compensation from the place, I just want people to know not to go here.
