"This fun-loving saloon on Main Street is hiding some pretty serious kitchen chops for dinner and brunch. Try the chicken-fried quail or the sweet-savory pork medallions with raspberry-chipotle sauce while enjoying live music, drinks, and people-watching on the patio. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Erin Russell, Nadia Chaudhury

Loved our experience here! We got the crab cake Benedict, it was great! Also got an espresso martini, not too bad. Everything was a reasonable price too. We brought our two pups and they were immediately greeted with water bowls and treats. We loved the dog menu. Our dogs scarfed down the ground beef with carrots. We loved how dog friendly they were. We will definitely come back next time we are in Fredericksburg!

My husband and I got Silver Creeks famous burger with a side of cheese curds. We got a virgin strawberry daiquiri and it was delicious. A band plays outside every night, which was very entertaining. I got a key lime pie and it was one of the best I’ve had.

Service and atmosphere were great, but the food was a bit on the bland side. I may have had high expectations because I love German food and lived in Germany for a year, where I had Jaeger Schnitzel more times than I can count. Unfortunately, the flavors just didn’t hit the mark for me. It wasn’t bad, but it lacked the depth and richness I was hoping for.

Hip Hop

Lovely place with a great selection of beers on draft and in cans & bottles. Good selection of cocktails as well. Friendly and attentive staff.

We made a quick stop in Fredericksburg during our road trip and while walking down Main Street, we heard fun music coming from this place. The atmosphere was really nice, so we decided to go in for some refreshments and a snack. We ordered the artichoke dip and it was really good! I don’t have any other reference since it was my first time trying it, but I really liked it. Our waitress was very attentive.

The steak was perfect. The pork medallions were amazing! The mashed potatoes are the best ever and we’re still trying to figure out what they did to make them so good. Service is top notch. Highly recommend!

We came here as a big group, the food was delicious, the drinks on point and the atmosphere was perfection under the starry night

Yelp
Marjan and I visited this Main Street Grill, attracted by the open patio and the sounds of an acoustic guitar performer on the porch. We were immediately seated by the very pleasant hostess, and an equally pleasant waitress directly filled our drink orders: Warsteiner Pilsner and a Warsteiner Dunkel. Now what to order? Marjan was hungering for a Reuben and we ordered with an extra side of sauerkraut and an order of their fries. Well friends, the Reuben was just delicious. Perfectly prepared corned beef, thousand island dressing, cheese, all twixt toasted and marbled rye. Just wow! And if one enjoys crisp, well seasoned fries...you have found a home here. Ditto for the sauerkraut! We love beers, and the Warsteiner is quite a brand. I preferred the lighter Pilsner, my lady, the darker Dunkel. On this crisp sunny day, the setting, the music, the libations, and the delicious Reuben made for a perfect lunch. Marjan rates this eatery: four boots!! Highly recommend Yelpers!!!

Yelp
I have never been so unimpressed and disappointed by a restaurant manager before coming to this place. Alfredo ruined what could easily have been a positive experience. A group of 11 of us arrived for dinner and we waited for a table for about 30 minutes, which was completely understandable given our party size and it being a Saturday night. A few of us went next door to grab a glass of wine and wait outside for our table. Once it was ready, the very nice hostess took us inside to our table and as we were sitting down, our server told to us finish our drinks or throw them away. So we did - happily - before sitting down. This is where everything was handled TERRIBLY by Alfredo. He walked up and quite literally yelled at us about a potential $10k fine and refused to serve us. I was a restaurant manager for 5 years, and I would have been fired on the spot if I spoke to guests the way he spoke to us. We were not trying to get the restaurant in trouble. There was no communication from the hosts about not being able to enter the restaurant with a drink. We were very hungry and happy to follow the rules once they were communicated to us. But no, we weren't given that chance. Even though our very lovely, friendly server (Logan) was willing to work with us, Alfredo decided that his bad day had to be everyone's bad day. He made a pregnant woman cry and didn't care one bit. It's unfortunate that 1 terrible person has made it so that I can never recommend this place to anyone traveling to Fredericksburg. Zero stars for Alfredo, 5 stars for Logan, and N/A stars for the food since we didn't get to try it.

Yelp
Let me start by saying the scenery is so gorgeous here. Sitting under a big shady tree with live music was so inviting. We ordered water as we sat down to look at the menu. When it came out with no ice, I thought that was strange. Hubs ordered a beer, and I chose a mango chamoy margarita on the rocks. We weren't really hungry, so he ordered chips and queso. The marg came out with no ice. I tasted it and almost choked. It was like a mango puree with some chamoy swirled in, thick like it should have been frozen...but it wasn't. The chips and queso arrived. Very greasy chips, but the queso had fresh pico de gallo on top. It was tasty. Hubs said his beer was good, but he didn't care for the chips either. I don't know what was wrong with my drink, and I didn't have the heart to send it back. Our waitress was so sweet. In the end, I'd say keep walking down the street.

Yelp
I wanted to eat the Schnitzel since I am from Germany, but decided on the Reuben. I don't regret my choice. The Reuben sandwich was very delicious and flavor. My husband had the Schnitzel Sandwich and he said it was okay. I think the reason why is because most people deep fry the Schnitzel. That is not a good thing. A schnitzel needs to be sautéed in butter and schools look golden brown when served, not black. Our waiter was absolutely nice and attentive. My Reuben came with German potato salad and it tasted very delicious and was spiced right.

Marie M.

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner. There are options for covered outdoor seating (with fans) and indoor air conditioned spaces too. We loved the live music and quaint dining room. Our server was helpful and conversational. We tried several sampler plates rather than going for dinner meals. The sausage platter and the pretzels were amazing. I also don't think I've ever had rye bread this tasty. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Huong E.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this venue on Main Street. We didn't have to wait for a table on a Friday evening. Seated at a high bar table. Live music was excellent. Server made some great recommendations and dinner was tasty. Bar food German style. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality food that was served hot and quick. Fun place to stop to enjoy music food and drinks.

Bill T.

Yelp
Made plans for the 11 of us to go there--supposed to be open on Mondays but the place was closed --- very disappointed especially with a big group

Steve H.

Yelp
Loved the live music and ate street side. Not the cleanest patio we have been to. Ordered some sandwiches for lunch; wife had a Chicken Caesar Wrap and was bland with mostly lettuce and little chicken. I had a Rueben sandwich that had little meat and lots of sauerkraut (which was tasty); the rye bread was hardly toasted. Our server, albeit nice, seemed a bit "off". Our bill was $32 but had been charged $75. Server did correct it when it was brought to his attention. This is the second time we have eaten here and it seems like it is slowly going downhill. Will not be back (too many other options along Main St)

Reese B.

Yelp
Very poor service. It was over 100 degrees outside and the first thing the rude servers said was "put the drink in a bag and don't take it out" in a very nasty tone. We sat outside for about 30 minutes with no service and at that point me and mom just got and left. I will never come back to this place.

Yelp
Silver creek has THE BEST FOOD ! highly recommend the German soft pretzels and spinach artichoke dip ! You will not be disappointed with any of their apps !!! My personal favorite entree is the Jaegar schnitzel however you spell it with Saurkraut and home style potato salad with deviled egggs in it ‍ so good but guarantee anything you order will be delicious !!! And have a lot of love in it the ambiance is great outdoor seating is available and you can even enjoy a seat at the bar in the back which is considered outside and you can smoke if you'd like while you eat a meal and have a delicious drink ! Currently craving one of their famous prickly pear mojitos beautiful drink and tastes just as beautiful staff is very hospitable which you can always appreciate anywhere you go but when you come back they recognize you and always treat you well highly recommend!!!

Anna C.

Yelp
The live music was so sweet and the performer really interacted with the crowd. There's a large selection of beer, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. I didn't LOVE the food I got, the fettuccini Alfredo, simply because my stomach didn't feel great afterwards. But I guess that's what happens after drinking wine and eating heavy food afterwards!

Sammy S.

Yelp
As soon as I walked in I loved the environment. Lively but not too overbearing and the live music was the icing on the cake! The food was on point, loved both the fish and chips and the schnitzel! Great quality and portions are good as well so you get a bang for your buck. Not to mention the staff are super fun and super sweet :) Now the real impressive part were the drinks. If you are lucky to meet the owner Chris, the man can make a KILLER cocktail! If you're an adventurous drinker and want a fun story to tell your friends, ask for the Hellen Keller shot! It's an experience you can't pass up! You'll thank me later .

Tom S.

Yelp
Wouldn't seat us because I had a Starbucks ice coffee I didn't want to throw away or chug. So we went next door. Will never go back.

Myranda K.

Yelp
The service was pretty good. The schnitzel was average, the German potato salad was average as was the red cabbage. Portions were hardy. Menu was not all that exciting.

Randa T.

Yelp
No gluten free offerings on the menu except a salad, however the Greek salad was really really good. It had alot of olives, artichoke hearts and feta. Yum. Husband had the Santa Fe salad and enjoyed it as well. He said it had a nice big piece of grilled chicken and the guac was real tasty. We sat outdoors on a beautiful day listening to the live music. We will return for sure.

Jaiden S.

Yelp
Everything we were served here tasted and looked amazing, the cheese curds and fried pickles were a favorite. Best Piña Colada I've ever had. Had a relaxed and pretty chill ambiance, the live music added an awesome touch. The service was amazing and the owners are incredible people! Definitely swing by this place if you're in the area!

E C.

Yelp
Fabulous menu. Try the Reuben Sandwich! The Sausage sample is very tasty. You will not go wrong with anything in the menu. Portions are large. I usually have to share. My "go to" place when walking downtown Fredericksburg, TX. Every time I have been here there is live music. The owner Chris is very friendly.

Valerie R.

Yelp
If you come here, just stick to beer. What compelled us to come here was the mediocre live music. We were looking for a laid-back chill vibe with live music. As we were walking down Main Street, we heard the live music and decided to have a drink. My husband had a beer. There's not a lot of ways that you can go wrong with that. The mixed drinks are a completely different story. I tried a mango chamoy Moscow Mule, and it was beyond terrible!! Like regurgitate in your mouth bad! I NEVER complained, but it was so bad that my husband complained on my behalf. The waitress offered a half-hearted apology and asked if I wanted something else. I ended up ordering a frozen rose, and it was slightly better, but not by much. Needless to say, I was disappointed. My husband finished up his beer and asked for the check. We were a bit taken back that we were still charged for the full and undrinkable Moscow Mule. I guess it was on us for assuming that the waitress was trying to make things right when she asked me if I wanted something else. When we spoke up about it, she became annoyed and said that she would talk to the manager. It took her at least 20 minutes to make her way back to us. During that time, the couple at the table next to us told us that their martinis were absolutely terrible and the food was awful. This confirmed our suspicions that this place was overall a tourist trap reeling people in with live music. The establishment was hesitant to take off the terrible beverage, but they eventually did. Save yourself some time, find another place.

Lip S.

Yelp
Service and food were amazing! I came here with my sisters the night before and for brunch the next day and both times servers, bartenders and service were very great and nice. Cocktails the night before were delicious and the bartenders were very informative of the drinks. Absolutely glad we found this place!

Bridgette F.

Yelp
Beer and appetizers is all that is worth it here. Definitely not worth the money. Just go to fast food or a gas station to grab some snacks and you will get better tasting food. Pros: The patio was nice and had a live musician playing. Food was ready quickly. Large beer list. Cons: The food was edible and that is it. It didn't even pass into the okay category. The chicken salad had grilled chicken that was super dry. The burger was plain, overcooked, and overpriced. The Bratwurst sandwich was the favorite but was described by the eater as nowhere near good but better than the rest of the food. The schnitzel was dry but they said the potato salad and red cabbage was good. The only thing described as good between the four people in our party.

Anj L.

Yelp
I'm totally confused with the negative reviews. We had lunch here on Black Friday, so it was packed. The old building is gorgeous- if you like architecture, this is a must see. The doorways are beautiful! Our service here was top notch. I did not get our main waitress's name. When I commented how busy they were, she said that "her bar area" was full, so I assumed she was the owner or manager. She was unbelievably friendly and attentive! We were both very hungry, so we started with fried pickles and jalapeño poppers. They arrived super hot and yummy. My hubby ordered a salad. I was still a little chilly, so I opted for the lunch pomodoro pasta. Again, this was bubbly hot and tasty. I would describe it more like pasta Telefono, because the sauce was rich and creamy. I was truly blown away by the entire staff that I encountered there. They truly made us feel welcomed and I thank them for the great service!

Ash M.

Yelp
Great burgers, Pasta, German food and some awesome appetizers/bar snacks. Best bourbon selection in the hill country !

Paige P.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants on Main Street. Highly recommend the garlic cheese curds and burger. Wonderful service and fun patio. Live music most nights.

Jules H.

Yelp
We came here with 5 women. We were scolded when entering because my mother had a cup of water (she has an autoimmune disease that causes extreme dry mouth and dehydration that other establishments acknowledged upon entering). We were seated and ordered a round of drinks and food with no issue. When we were served our food a member of our party asked to order a beverage and we were informed that a "manager" said we could no longer be served. Baffled by this, we were hesitant to finish our meal. When our server we returned, we questioned what had happened. His initial response was that we had brought in a beverage. When we responded that my mother had a disease that required her water, we were instead told that we were boisterous to the point that if we were further served it could cost the server $10k. Meanwhile a group at the bar inside was also "boisterous" and continued to be served. This is a group of mothers and daughters trying to enjoy a Saturday and this ruined our experience. Think twice before dining in this establishment.

Lisa A.

Yelp
Alfredo was very rude. Overwhelmed with a large party and did not want to serve us despite a reservation. Will not come back until I can grow a dick he can suck on and choke. This his how much his poor service enraged a crowd of ten with reservations.

Kristopher S.

Yelp
I've been coming here for 10+ years and Silver Creek is simply amazing! Great staff that are always happy and ready to help. Menu is full of delicious food and it's always very tasty. Drinks at the bar are made perfectly and they are great at recommending new cocktails and other drinks to try. Most extensive Whiskey & Bourbon choices in town by far!! Live music out front, Beers on tap, sports on the TV's and friendly people...my favorite place in Fredericksburg!!

Elvira O.

Yelp
We were in need of something hearty after wine tasting around Fredericksburg. I love their bratwurst sandwich with a very generous portion of sauerkraut and a side of fries. Slather mustard on all of it! It's so delicious. Equally delicious is the schnitzel sandwich which I got a bite of from my boyfriend. And not to be missed: pretzel rolls. Get them. Soft, buttery, salty goodness!

Don R.

Yelp
The reviews for this place are incredibly bipolar - seems like people either love it or hate it. My girlfriend and I absolutely love it. We come here for Sunday brunch when in Fredericksburg and it hits the spot every time. The service for us is always spot on. Good drinks and food, great beer selection. The Biergarten outside is fabulous and the dining room and bar area are good too!!

Philip D.

Yelp
Alfredo is a horrible manager. He deserves to be fired. We were a party of 11 who waited 30 minutes for a table inside. We went to the wine bar next door while we waited. When we entered some of us had alcohol and the server told us we needed to chug it or dump it. Alfredo rudely came us yelled at us about a $10k fine and then refused to serve any of our party. He made a pregnant person in our party cry. He's awful. The worst experience we've ever had. He deserves the worst reviews and this places owes us an apology. I am extremely unimpressed and will never recommend this place to anyone. AWFUL.

Roel Kristy V.

Yelp
Jaegerschnitzel, classic rueben, hot German potato salad, sauerkraut, and Alstaht kolsch, mid 60 degrees on cloudless Saturday afternoon in Fredericksburg. Doesn't get much better.

David C.

Yelp
What a beautiful restaurant, huge oak tree covering the outdoor patio. The hostess was great, found a suitable table to allow our 2 very well behaved black labs to join us for lunch. She sat us, brought us water and then returned with water for our dogs. This was before noon on Friday November 24 2023 (Black Friday), patio was maybe 1/4 full. Waiter came took our drink order, a couple of recommend beers from their decent list of offerings. Maybe 5 minutes later, brought our beers and took our food order. A hamburger and fries for my wife and I ordered the German sausage plate. I good experience this far. Here is where the review goes bad. We sat there for 40 minutes wondering what was taking so long, waiter was still working, never once coming over to see if we needed more water or another beer, nothing, no interaction at all. Place was starting to get busy. Other people who came in after us had started receiving their meals. Finally we asked another waiter to see what was taking so long. He said we are busy, I said yes you are but we were here when there was hardly anyone at restaurant. He went and talked to our waiter, who then came out with a platter of nachos and said he was sorry and forgot to put in our order. I told him I was not interested in the nachos, he said " whatever". At that point I really didn't want the nachos or his attitude. I told him we would just leave and to bring us the check for the beers we had. He walked off mumbling "ok have a nice day". I got up and followed him so I could pay right away and leave. He handed me the check, it was around $14.50, I handed it back with a $20.00 bill and he turned around and said "have a nice day" like he was done with the transaction, I said I would like my change. He went and got me change and I told him I would not be leaving a tip. He then turned away and told me to "f@!k off". I know some days are better than others for waiters / waitresses. With the day being a very busy day, he was looking at a tough day ahead of him. If you can't take the heat, find another career. I was very disappointed with the service. I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone I know. I'm sure he is happy with our decision.

Cheryl M.

Yelp
Great service and friendly bartender He was great. Gave me samples of beer. And gave me beer close to what I usually like

Ben C.

Yelp
Great service! My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time here. We will be coming back!

Wilbur R.

Yelp
Wait time is absolutely ridiculous. It took an hour for them to serve our food. Server is also rude and not sympathetic. The food was TERRIBLE. Go to the next restaurant if you're in Fredericksburg.

Karina A.

Yelp
Great food and service. They have live music which makes the ambiance very enjoyable.

Keith L.

Yelp
Have ventured to silver creek twice and have not been disappointed. The eclectic decorations and open beer garden set up make this a fun and entertaining place to relax and enjoy some adult beverages while live entertainment plays on front porch. The repurposed home also has amazing german food options as well as standard fare. There was no issues with staff promptness and professionalism, the food and presentation send it over your standard option on main. Definitely worth checking out. Be advised though there may be a wait depending on what city functions are occurring

Chad D.

Yelp
Sitting here in a Saturday afternoon listening to live music with great food and drinks. Try the Texas Tea!!! The German sausage and kraut is absolutely perfect. The pretzels are the best I've ever had. And the staff is so kind. Hottest part of the year and we are just chilling in the middle of the day listening to Jeff Wood live and enjoying drinks under the cool shade of the enormous tree in the courtyard off the main drag in Fredericksburg. Will definitely get back as soon as we can.

Betsy E.

Yelp
Best part of this place is I was able to reserve a table for a big party on a bachelorette weekend. Food was okay. Service was good. Served the purpose we needed! The outside had live music and looked much more lively than the inside. If I go back, next time I would sit out there.

Maria B.

Yelp
Love this place, it's super chill and has such a relaxing patio. Some live music, yummy food and chill vibes. The service is good. Overall great experience here every time I go.

Robin D.

Yelp
Excellent food and great service!! Hamburger and brats were so good !!! Service was great! Beautiful day sitting outside enjoying the music and food!!

Mark E.

Yelp
Best little bar with the best Ruben sandwich in Texas. Staff is amazing. Skinny margarita is a must!

Alan Y.

Yelp
The food was actually pretty good. Our waitress recommended the fish y chips, didn't disappoint. The raspberry chipotle pork medallions were mashed potatoes were excellent. The service, especially the senior manager/owner sucked. It was a little cold out, asked 4 different people if they could turn on the propane heaters. They all basically said we should ask someone else. Finally turned one on myself after the 4 people y over 20 minutes of sitting in the cold, only to get bitches at by the old bald guy who rudely told me not to touch it bc I wasn't the owner. Later, we asked another old guy to turn up the heat since it was at the lowest setting. He told us to talk to our overworked waitress who had way to many tables to deal w it, even though this same prick was one of the guys who turned on other tables earlier. Basically, I've never been to a restaurant where so many of the staff who hated their customers or didn't give a crap about their comfort. The band from Kerrville was pretty good.

Shelby G.

Yelp
We would have loved to have had an opportunity to try the cocktails and atmosphere of silver creek but that was cut abruptly short by the bar back/bus boy shutting the outdoor heater off because he deemed it not frigid enough to turn on an outdoor heater. It was 68° with ample wind. He decided that we could not have possibly felt cold because it wasn't under 60°. Directly across the street at hidden hideaway provided heaters without any issue. The server was wonderful. The drinks were amazing. And you could still hear the music from across the street. Hidden hideaway had no issue turning on a heater for 30 minutes. Unsure why it was such an issue for silver creek. Cost cutting measures it seems but not customer friendly.

Susan P.

Yelp
There's a lot of places to eat in Fredericksburg, tourism is their business but none beat Silver Creek's ambiance and setting. Right on Main Street, they feature an outdoor dining area shaded by a magnificent tree. Our lunch was accompanied by live music that was just the right volume. And the food? Well that's outstanding as well. We started with warm German pretzel rolls and added a queso dip. They disappeared quickly. Our table had entrees ranging from a salad to fish and chips to brats and a Reuben. All were good and featured authentic German sides. A lovely lunch.

Sophia S.

Yelp
My family and I came here on vacay in pursuit of some ~authentic~ German food. Since I've never had German food before, I have no clue what that means, but we did leave full and satisfied. All of us pretty much ordered one of two Schnitzel dishes, virtually identical besides the accompanying sauce. We also got the German Sausage Plate to share, which was probably the tastiest and most interesting of the dishes. As a big fan of pickled vegetables, I did enjoy the side of Sauerkraut, but even that wasn't enough to cut the heaviness of the Schnitzel. In conclusion, not somewhere I would routinely visit, but it does have that comfort junk food appeal (with a German twist).

Amanda S.

Yelp
Food was great. Menu has lots of options to satisfy a picky group. Beer garden with live music was enjoyable for our group. Drinks and service was great. They were very busy but still served or food in a timely manner.

Josh R.

Yelp
They made us wait away before we were seated even though there were spare tables available. I ordered the "Our Famous Burger," and it hit the spot after hiking Enchanted Rock. It was a lot of food and tasted great. Even the bun was good. It was served with fries. We ordered bread pudding for dessert. The bread pudding wasn't my favorite, but it didn't taste bad. Just a FYI, the bread pudding has nuts in it.

Shannon H.

Yelp
I can't figure out why this restaurant doesn't have better ratings. We arrived on a Saturday during rush hour, was seated immediately, and service was awesome! If I remember correctly, her name was Candice, and she was the best waitress we've ever had. We got our drinks and food very quick. If you want a quick bite with superb service, check this place out!

Danielle J.

Yelp
We were recommend to come here from a local and wished we would have spent our time eating somewhere else. I really wanted to like this place because it had been recommended but man, this prices here aren't worth it. A positive note would be that they have a good beer selection. Got a German amber lager that was good. Not too stout with a great flavor. Got there spinach dip. It was alright. It didnt come out with very many chips and was going to be charged if we wanted more. Thought that wasn't right. There prices are incredibly high. Like way out there high. I got a fettuccini alfredo and without adding a protein, it was 22 dollars. For just sauce and noodles. I ended up adding shrimp for 12 dollars which made my total for just my meal 34 dollars. Which is insane. Only came with 7 shrimp. The alfredo sauce too intense. The shrimp were not deveined which I would expect paying this much for a meal. I dont know how they came up with the price for just noodles and sauce but it was not worth the price. They do have a lovely seating area outside but dont recommend sitting inside. Have a musty old smell. Which I get it is an old building but other places didnt have the smell this place held. It really sucks having to write this type of review for a place like this. It has soo much potential but charging for every little thing will not get you returning customers. I know I wont be back and will not recommend.

Trish M.

Yelp
Negative 5 stars at the very least. Horrible service, gross food & the rudest staff ever! Have you ever been kicked of out of a place sober for asking for better service? Called a fool & your family told to choose better have better friends? Then threatened by them to call the popo while being politely quiet? Not to mention the chips while warm tasted as if they had been fried in old oil. The salsa was bland & tasted canned. The guacamole tasted as if it had been stretched with blended peas. Our server, April S was gloating after our party was FORCED to pay gratuity after being treated badly. The manager, REFUSED to give his name & falsely accused me of being demanding. I was Asked if I was local then was berated for being one. This place while having a nice out door venue doesn't deserve even a star. In fact a negative five star wouldn't be low enough. If that what rocks your world, please enjoy Silver Creek!
