Absolutely delicious, healthy, fresh food with excellent service!! They have nice outdoor seating and covered outdoor seating. I loved the variety of options the menu offered. The side dishes to choose from are exquisite. I especially enjoy the garlic spinach and the Brussels sprouts as accompaniments. The children's menu is also exemplary; it has healthy options to choose from. I love the teriyaki salmon with vegetables for kids; my 7-year-old son devoured it. The service exceeded my expectations; our waiter made sure we lacked nothing, and the atmosphere was perfect for a family.

I used to not like Silver Diner years ago, but the new chef and owners have completely stepped up their game—the food is now so fresh and delicious! The chef clearly puts thought into the menu to cater to a wide range of backgrounds, including super healthy eaters and vegan/vegetarian options. Not only is the food incredible, but the portions are also very generous—I always end up taking some home! I’ve enjoyed several of their drinks too; the mimosas were great, though the cucumber-strawberry spritz wasn’t my favorite (probably just not my taste). The mango and passion fruit mimosas were excellent, and my mom loved the Bloody Mary with extra olives. We’ve tried the crabmeat pasta and avocado toast this time—both were fantastic. In the past, we’ve had the crabcake Benedict, wings, cod fish, shrimp and salmon dish, watermelon salad, and a few other dishes—all amazing! Service from our waiter was okay (not spectacular—we had to wait a bit for extras), but overall, the experience was great. We loved sitting on the outdoor patio with the pretty basket flowers and cute blue tables with wicker chairs. The best part: when it started raining, the manager came out and, using a remote, lowered the glass enclosure so we could stay dry outside. Very impressive! Overall, a wonderful experience—I’ll definitely be back!

We're just visiting Arlington, and this place is awesome! The food here is so good. But the service stole the show! Shoutout to Kainaat, Danel and Karen for the awesome service! All the staff was super friendly, quick, and just made the whole meal great. Definitely stop by if you're in the area!

I had diner here and it was a great experience. I love the food, service and atmosphere. The weather was nice so I sat outside. The food came out on time. I ordered skewered shrimp bibimbap and the “Apple pie a la mode” for dessert. The dessert tastes great and I will definitely order again the next time I visit. The meal tasted good and was not overly spiced. Will definitely recommend and go back for breakfast/brunch.

We did not have high expectations but were wowed by this little unassuming diner. Food was very good, service was excellent and the atmosphere on the patio where we ate was all right. We chose seating outside because the elevator from the free parking in the garage opened up there. We did check out the inside space and the tables inside were definitely more upscale. Next time, we will dine inside. We found a new favorite place for a casual meal in Alexandria.

She was attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring the kind of service that makes you feel looked after rather than just served. You can tell she takes pride in what she does. Employees like Hemen are the reason people return. She represents what real customer service should be, and she absolutely deserves recognition for it. We often go out to eat. Recently though, even when the food was good; the service was not. In fact, being former servers ourselves, we were getting very jaded. This changed today when we were lucky enough to get Taron O. as our server. She is funny, kind and very knowledgeable about the food. Mostly though, she impressed us by how very attentive she was! In fact, she gave us the perfect amount of attention while allowing us the time to enjoy our meals too. Even better; she seemed to anticipate our needs before we had even thought of them. As usual, the food was not only delicious and the portions were more than generous but honestly, having Taron take care of us was the piece de resistance. We will be back and hopefully, when Taron is on duty!

Looks like our evening took an unexpected turn from ramen dreams to diner delights! Who knew that a closed door at the neighboring ramen joint would lead us straight to the welcoming arms of Silver Diner? We settled into the spacious and inviting atmosphere, making a beeline for the bar where the real magic happened. Connie, our bartender/server extraordinaire, was an absolute gem. With a smile brighter than my freshly painted nails, she made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Now, onto the star of the show: the happy hour menu. Let me tell you, it was a culinary carnival! The old bay shrimp danced on our taste buds with their perfect seasoning and crispy fry. And those crab cake sliders? They're so good, they should come with a warning label--'cause once you taste them, you'll never want to share! But wait, there's more! The wings were fried to crispy perfection, and the drink selection had us feeling like kids in a candy store. Whoever thought up this happy hour deserves a medal. In short, we came for happy hour and left with hearts full of gratitude for Connie's hospitality and bellies full of deliciousness. So here's to closed ramen places and the silver linings they bring--Silver Diner, you've earned a spot in our hearts (and our dining rotation)! A very modern and clean design of the restaurant! Plenty of seating inside and there's a free retail garage that's easy to access as well. We were sat right away (we were here around 9:15 on a Saturday morning). Sylvia was super friendly and attentive. I ordered a coffee and the Watermelon Cucumber Spritz Deluxe Mimosa and my husband ordered the BrewChata. Both were really good! For our breakfast, I ordered the Burrata Shakshuka, my husband ordered the Oat Milk Protein Pancakes and we split the Apple Pie Stuffed French Toast. The shakshuka was delicious and loved the Naan that came with it. I don't they personally give you enough Naan so I ordered more which costs additional but it was all delicious. Loved the protein pancakes too. Usually I'm not the biggest fan of protein carbs but these were flavor packed and so good. The French Toast was good as well but I wouldn't called them stuffed French Toast, just some apple pie filling on the top but they were still good. Love Silver Diner in general but this has easily been my favorite location. I will definitely be going back to try other items on their menu!

I am a big fan of Silver Diner and have visited many of their locations throughout the DMV. However, this location has become my favorite. It's surprisingly spacious for a diner, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The outdoor seating area is particularly impressive, as it is fully covered, ensuring that your dining experience is not hampered by any weather conditions. When I visited on a weekday, the place was practically empty, so I had my choice of seating options. The service was excellent - better than most of the other Silver Diner locations I've been to. And as always, the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Two thumbs up across the board, and I'll definitely be coming back again.

Normally, I'm not impressed with this place. Tonight was different. Danny did an excellent job as our server. He checked up on us (not too much, just enough). Drinks were nice (watermelon lemonade) and the sauce with the steak frite was so delicious. Husband got a short rib sandwich - shocked at the size! Again, great item. And again, Danny was awesome especially for serving us so late (around 10pm). Happy, friendly, and professional. Definitely ask for him

I had the Philly Steak omelette and it was quite good. Have eaten here several times and it's actually one of the better brunch/breakfast spots in the area. Haven't had any other meal there so I can rate on them. But breakfast is definitely a to-do. The service is pretty on point at this location and the layout of the facility is always clean and inviting. There is a little room for it to get 5-stars but it's a solid 4 to me. Definitely recommend!

Our go to diner for brunch and lunch. Its really not a diner. They have such a diverse menu with options for every foodie need. We always have a good experience at the King street location. They have very good service and they provide a very pleasant experience. We stop by at least once a week and they never disappoint.

I love that they have an outdoor patio option as well as indoor dining. Service is pretty good, servers are very nice and attentive. The food was also really good very fresh and flavorful. The bbq sauce they use is something special Fries were a little cold but still crispy. This place is family friendly, it's very relaxed and not too loud. They also have drink specials on brunch cocktails We had: - A passion fruit mimosa - KICKIN' SHORT RIB BURGER* Creekstone Beef, sliced sous vide short rib, nitrate-free bacon, cheddar, jalapeños, onion straws, Southwest ranch and bbq. HICKORY SMOKEHOUSE CHEDDAR BURGER* Bbq-basted, cheddar, caramelized onions, cremini mushrooms, nitrate-free bacon.

Consistently good food and service. I like that there's free parking below ground and an easy way to get to the restaurant. It's a casual spot that can get busy so mind your timing. The range of food options is wide. My last trip I had the lemony hummus greek salad, which is very satisfying. My wife had the country scrambler and son the chicken and waffles.

Silver Diner wants to capture the feel of the classic diner with an inclusive and near sourced menu. In that they largely succeed. I went with a standard menu item and got a standard food experience. Next time I might be a bit more adventurous and see if I can tack down what's special. For a Friday late night the service was pretty good, friendly. I'd prefer if they had later hours like some of their other locations but this may not be the right neighborhood for overnight chow seekers.

Two dreadful breakfasts. I stopped with my daughter this Sunday morning to grab breakfast. I ordered a Western Omelet. She ordered their Apple Pie French Toast. The omelet was paper thin and bone dry. The accompanying toast was barely warm. Her French Toast consisted of two thick slices of bread with some toppings poured on top. I tried it, and it was gross. A supervisor happened by and asked if everything was OK. When I mentioned this wasn't their finest hour, to his credit, he sounded like he was willing to provide us with some form of accommodation. I declined his offer and still felt it necessary to warn other prospective diners about this place. Up till now, Silver Diner has reliably provided at least above-average food. Maybe this is the exception. However, many of the recent reviews seem to indicate that things may not be going well for this location. (Mental Note: Check recent Yelp reviews before going to any restaurant, even one you thought was reliable. Things can change.)

Here's the little secret that most folks who regularly write reviews on Yelp don't want to admit: sometimes when it comes to our dining options, we're BASIC. There I said it. I mean: * Do I occasionally eat McDonalds? - YES * Have I gotten my morning coffee at a Dunkin Donuts as opposed to a locally operated microroaster? - YES * And do I enjoy visiting my local Silver Diner when I have a craving for consistent and good old diner fare? Absolutely! Silver Diner is a local chain which started way back in 1989 with their first location in Rockville, MD (https://www.silverdiner.com/our-story). Over the next 30 years, the company has grown to 23 locations across three states and the District of Columbia. Silver Diner's "recipe" has been a simple, yet successful one: Quality food at a reasonable price with a healthy side of nostalgia for America's diner culture. Of late, I've been coming to this location off King Street since this newer location has many desirable attributes. While there is limited street parking, there is underground parking with the nearby attached garage...and (for the time being) the parking is FREE!!! There is also a good-sized patio if you choose to dine outdoors, and this area is very thoughtfully designed since it is enclosed so diners don't have to worry about all the smoke and exhaust from the cars driving along busy Rt. 7. This location is also much larger than other Silver Diner locations. High ceilings, a long bar area, and plentiful seating really make this a comfortable space for diners. I dined here recently with my sister's family, since as she puts it, "the place is kid approved by my niece and nephew," so they eat there often. Some of the adults got the "breakfast for dinner" option which was the buttermilk pancakes platter. Pancakes were prepared on a flat top grill to give them a rice slightly crispy exterior, while remaining fluffy inside. Paired with a side of extra crispy bacon and eggs (any way you want them) and it's a hearty filling meal. While I didn't think the Southwest Turkey Sandwich was particularly reminiscent of cuisine from that part of the country, it was still a substantial meal. Piles of smoked turkey were layered with sliced tomatoes, romaine lettuce, pepper jack cheese, guacamole, and "southwest ranch" sauce (which honestly tasted like pesto) within a ciabatta bun. My only suggestion is to pop the sandwich in the oven for a few minutes to heat it up. The classic BLT might be one of the best deal around. For $10, generous amounts of smoky bacon are piled between toasted sourdough bread with lettuce and sliced tomatoes; I usually ask for mayo on the side which the kitchen gladly obliges. Paired with a small ramekin of Cole slaw, and their French fries (which I actually think tastes BETTER than McDonalds) and this is a gut busting meal. I often will just eat 1/2 at the restaurant and the other 1/2 for lunch the next day since the portion sizes are generous. Service was also good and a team of servers did an excellent job of delivering the food within 10-15 minutes of ordering and ensuring that plates got cleared and drinks refilled. Since one of my doctors is located nearby, I will definitely be adding this Silver Diner location to my rotation of places to eat when I'm in the area.

Ordered the Just Eggs Benedict with vegan sausage from Silver Diner. So nice to have a hearty vegan option at a diner, so it was a win! The price was decent and service was fast. There are multiple locations all around the DMV area and this one is on King St, which is nice. The vegan sausage was so yummy! The Just Eggs Benedict was good but there was entirely too much spinach! Don't get me wrong, I love spinach but this was just way too much. It's as if they bought way too spinach and needed to find a way to use it quickly lol. So after I removed the mounds of spinach, I found the rest of my meal. Another disappointing aspect of the meal was side of fruit. Be more generous!!! You can give more than 4 pieces of fruit. Otherwise, the meal was delicious, nice to have a hearty vegan brunch option, decent price, and fast service.

Really good food here at this diner. Don't really have any complaints. Our waitress was awesome and kept my water glass full. That's a bonus is my book. As for the quality and taste of the food, it's amazing. This chain is probably the best diner's left in the USA. I haven't been to one yet that wasn't good. The ambiance is well. Gives me good vibes and is pleasant to sit in and have a good meal. They can get rid of their coleslaw from the menu though. That's gross. But everything else I've tried has been outstanding.

I joined a large party of about 2 dozen people here for a late dinner, food and service were great! Our server Cameron was the real MVP! He had great recommendations and was very friendly. Would happily come back here! Give Cameron a raise, management.

LOVED the food, especially the French toast! The service was AMAZING! The waiter my mom and I had was very nice to us and the overall vibe of the place was excellent! Everyone seemed to be having a great time.

Loved the classic diner atmosphere! Service was very friendly. We had David as our server. He was on top of everything and took care of our group of 6. No issue there. And the food was also just as great as everything else. I personally had the reuben sandwich with a hand spun chocolate milkshake! Not too loud, people-wise. And the music was not loud at all. Again loved the classic diner look and feel. They pulled it off really well. Entire staff all night was very attentive.

We come here all the time. The food here is always amazing. However, we had the best server we may have ever had at a restaurant tonight. His name was Joshua. Really pleasant young man who has such a knack for this role!

Great place for food. We have been here a couple of times for late night dinner. The food has been very delicious. I always start with a milkshake. Quantity of the milkshake is good for two people. If you're in the mood to share your shake then I highly recommend it. I have had their Hawaiian burger and steak (both very good). Burger was so juicy and it was done to my liking which is medium rare. Love the crispy onions on my steak. Service can be wonky. Both the times, our service wasn't great. Took a lot of time to get our order in. Ambiance is nice too.

Silver Diner cafe offers brunch items at a decent price in Northern VA. Offering an extensive menu from traditional breakfast, burgers, and seafood items. This location has a very nice patio that sits plenty. I loved the inside of the establishment. Set-up like a 50s diner. They also offer bar services and have great mimosas. I took my mom here on mother's day and they had specials for the occasion. I got the seafood eggs Benedict. Which featured crab cakes with hollandaise sauce. Then key lime pie for desert. Service was a little slow but it was on mother's day and they were really busy. A great place to get traditional breakfast or lunch.

Lumberjack breakfast. Pancakes 2 out of 4 stars like soft cardboard. The pork sausage was 1 out of 4 stars, hard and cooked some time ago. Eggs were good, bacon was crisp. Service was pleasant.

Very decent American fare. Our server Nate was excellent and service was relatively fast. We were able to easily get a table for 10 at brunch. The huevos bancheros was not bad, although I wouldve liked more diced potatoes and less beans for a more substantial meal. The crispy tortillas fit the dish well and were a fun way to eat the hash. I couldn't really discern the improvements the bison adds to the dish - having beef would've had the same result since the bison was just minced and seasoned. The mango mimosa was balanced and a good pairing with the food. Overall, very decent, with minute things for improvement.

We were on our way to a commencement when we came across Silver Diner. I mentioned that I hadn't been to one in years so we decided to stop here on our way back home. The parking is free in the garage of Harry Teeter. They offered indoor and outdoor dining. We decided to dine outdoors. We ordered an appetizer to share. I purchased the Catfish Fingers. It came with a honeymustard sauce and a remoulaude sauce. I truly enjoyed the cucumber lemonade. Found it to be tasty and quite refreshing. The beyond burger was just ok. I probably wouldn't purchase it again. Personally I think impossible burgers taste better. I really enjoyed the veggies that I chose as my side dish instead of fries. The roasted combination of brussel sprouts, beets and carrots were actually good. We all enjoyed our food. Our server forgot a few things but she took care of it after we requested it. I thought the menu was a little on the higher side considering this was a diner but they do try to gear towards a healthier menu so it's all good. They are famous for their milkshakes so I highly recommend getting one. Overall rating 3.5

Dine in is fantastic, the service is friendly and attentive. The diner theme is classy and appealing. My absolute favorite is the cauliflower pita with hummus. The take out orders need some work. They commonly seem to miss items clearly listed on the order receipt. I've had to drive over several times to collect missing items.

I got a salmon benedict and everything tasted old. -old slimy, transluscent onions -old fishy lox -rotting strawberries And though the dish was advertised as "served on potato pancakes" the potato pancakes were basically silver dollar tater tots. Slick move on a $20 breakfast. Only saving grace was the service. Our server Sylvia was great.

Really happy with our breakfast today. The staff was so friendly and attentive. We had the Bay Benedict, Burrata Shakshuka, and Philly Steak Omelette. All three were fantastic. The Bay Benedict crab cakes and eggs were perfectly cooked, just the right amount of runiness from the egg yolk. Surprised how quickly the food was ready.

Never thought I could like a diner this much! Everything from the food to the service was absolutely fantastic. Portion sizes are massive, so you can definitely share if you'd like. Bonus they stay open so late!

I had nothing short of an extremely interesting experience at the silver diner. I went for breakfast in the morning around 8 AM. I don't eat any dairy so I was thrilled to see that they had several vegan options on their menu. One of those options included an oat milk pancake with coconut whipped cream. When they brought out my meal, the waitress said to me that there wasn't any of the coconut whipped cream so she had brought me out regular whipped cream instead. She asked me "is this OK?" To which I responded that I was unable to eat it because of an intolerance. When she found that out she immediately removed the whipped cream and brought me out fruit to make up for it. In addition to that the manager literally sprinted to the grocery store next-door and bought dairy free whipped cream. When he brought it over to my table he was out of breath but it was so incredibly generous of him to have done that. The pancake was very good and it had blueberries and nuts in it along with fresh syrup. I had a really great experience especially given that they were so accommodating.

Went in for a date night on a Friday night. It wasn't too busy we sat at the bar. The guy behind the bar wasn't that friendly. I ordered the steak medium and there was no flavor even with the blue cheese butter on top I had to dip the steak in ranch to get some kind of flavor. My boyfriend ordered eggs and pancakes and he said the pancakes were not good at all. The good thing about my experience was the wine was good.

Great restaurant that pretends to be diner. This is certainly a hidden gem. Has the trapping of a diner, but is a fine eating establishment. Parking is bizarre, under the building. Highly recommend this place.

Wanted to try this place for a while. The place was crowded, but there plenty of tables open. The person said they only had bar seating available. First bad thing. I ordered the cornbeef hash and scrambled eggs. It was plain and better at Dennys.

This was my second time visiting Silver Diner, but first time at this location. My first visit was to the Clarendon location, and everything about it was bad. Food and service. So, I had low expectations for this visit, but I was pleasantly surprised! The diner itself had a nice decor and the outside patio seating was also nice! Convenient and free parking in the garage nearby. The food was good, better than I had expected! My boyfriend ordered the Hawaiian burger and loved it, my shrimp scampi just needed a little salt (which I added) but it was very good! Our server Rachael was wonderful and took great care of us. Thank you for changing my opinion of Silver Diner. Will be back!

Silver Diner kept popping up when I searched vegan options, which I found odd since diners aren't typically vegan. I finally looked at the menu and saw they had multiple vegan options. Everything tasted great and love that they can accommodate vegans and carnivores.

Something about Sunday brunch in NoVa, the waits are outrageous if you don't have a reservation! Somehow, we lucked out here with no wait for a party of four around 11 on Sunday. This spot wasn't our first choice but we know them as we have one close to us in MD and no wait time so.... This is a newer (6 months?) location and much bigger than the last one we visited. A good size bar area and outside seating looks good when the weather warms up. They are located in the West Alex development with a Harris Teeter next door. Our entrees were: Bbq Tacomelette (new dish with tortillas folded in) Classic Eggs Benedict, Lumberjack Breakfast (come hungry!), Shrimp & Grits (more saucy than usual and tasty). All of our choices were very good. Service was friendly and attentive and they definitely were busy with a loud atmosphere by the time we left around 1. A bit pricey. That said, portions were generous and some had leftovers. In addition to typical diner fare, looks like seasonal specials are available and they had healthy options that are sourced from regional farms which was great to see. Great to unexpectedly rediscover this regional Diner!

Another wonderful dinner at the Silver Diner! I just love their huevos rancheros, it's such an amazing dish! My wife ordered the new USA waffles. They were very tasty. We started with an order of Buffalo wings because it happened to be happy hour. I'll definitely be back!

We've visited the King Street location several times. We enjoy the menu and options for healthier choices. On this visit we enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip, the hummus salad bowl and the ancient grain bowl. Delicious and fresh! However, I am compelled to write this review today based on the exceptional service we received from our server, Nate. He was efficient, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu items and made wonderful recommendations. In fact, we now refer to him as " Nate the Great!" Silver diner is pretty much a solid choice for go-to good food but its the icing on the cake when paired with really, really good service like Nate provided us. We'll return now that we know the menu will also change soon to reflect the seasonal change.

Christian suggested the steak bites, yum yum ! So good and he kept filling my Diet Pepsi. I ate fast and got the spinach while the plate was still hot. He was a friendly server and didn't make me feel bad for being alone, he kept me company! The dessert was really good too. Apple pie is banging at the Silver Dinner. I'll definitely be back soon.

I ordered the flat iron steak cooked medium. When it came out it was more like well done when they came by to ask how my food was. The manager came by and offered an entirely new steak cooked to order. Amazing service every time we come here. We went to a really expensive fancy Michelin star restaurant and this place BEATS their service and quality of food, but better value. The space is always clean and nice to see the lighting change for the dinner hours. We usually come at breakfast and lunch time.

Excellent food and service!! The music was great and the portions filling. Our waiter, Brian, was great and took amazing care of us. Leonardo (host) greeted us so warmly with a big smile and made us feel like home. Rosa was also terrific and got us what we needed without hesitation and a big smile. Will definitely come back on my next visit to DC!

Sat for ten minutes without so much as an acknowledgment from the staff. Wasn't busy, plenty of people working, just couldn't be bothered to wait on anyone at the lunch hour. Gave up, left.

I come here regularly for consistent quality of food and service. Just want to make a special mention of my favorite cocktail here, the Atomic Bloody Mary, expertly crafted by bartender Omar. I prefer it spicy with a few extra jalapeños as garnish but he will gladly prepare it to your liking.
