Silver Dollar Bar

This was an ABSOLUTE surprise of the trip for us. We did not know this place existed and the goal was to get bison steaks while we're in Wyoming. The bison steak was about $59 and it was ABSOLUTELY delicious. The elk sliders , the bun was a bit crispy and the elk was tender and juicy. Mac and cheese was delighful. The cheeseboard was way more than we expected. We loved all the cheese there. The whole meal was just delighful and cost each of us about $94 each but it was well worth it. Service was great, we walked around for around 15 mins to find a restaurants but all the ones that are around were booked up and we were so glad to have found this little gem. Server sat us at the table quickly and food was brought out in 10 mins. The bathrooms are super clean. They had the live band playing the whole time we were there so it was a show and a dinner and and everything was amazing. We will deff come back here.

First off, we didn't eat here. We only came for the vibes and live music. Did not disappoint! These folks are serious about the cowboy shuffle and let me tell you, they are a sight to see. You talk about intimidated! These folks get down, in the country world. They know what they're doing so don't get in their way. The bartender from Turkey was amazing. Being the only guy there with a full house, was well orchestrated and had it under control. Tip that man well! Wished we were in Jackson Hole longer to repeat.

Historic bar at The Wort hotel in Jackson Hole Wyoming. It was kind of fancy and really good. The bar is beautiful, they have a lot of newspaper articles in the back hallway that tells of the history about the hotel and bar.

Had a really great experience here! The service was excellent—fast, attentive, and friendly. We ordered wine, a Diet Coke, and the pulled pork, which I had with a side of soup. It was delicious—very flavorful but not heavy at all. We also shared the trout as a starter, which was really tasty. My friend had the veggie burger; it arrived a bit cold, but that could’ve easily been fixed if we had mentioned it. The sweet potato fries were also a hit. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making the whole experience even better. Would definitely recommend this place!

Stopped here for lunch while visiting Jackson. It’s located inside the Wort Hotel. We were able to sit outside since it was a nice sunny day. The beer list had lots of local breweries and I tried a local brown ale. To start I had a cup of their famous corn chowder, which was pretty tasty. For my meal, I decided on the house smoked trout, which was an appetizer but ending up being huge! Delicious and super fresh. Overall a lovely lunch.

So we stopped by the silver dollar bar to see our good friend David Jeremy in concert. It is exciting and challenging at the same time when you are a one-man band and have to entertain the audience all by yourself, and DJ, as friends call him, knocked it out of the park. He was engaging and entertaining, and was in a matter of seconds when he started playing his first song of the night the patrons jumped out onto the dance floor and started dancing the night away. He continue to play fun upbeat songs that were geared towards dancing, and I don’t think there was a time that the floor was not filled with Dancers having a great time. Although he said, his voice was not doing well that night he still managed to belt out a number of great songs and sounded good in the process. He really has honed his performing skills over the years and is able to make it work and make it work well. If you are looking for a fun night out on the town and want to listen to live music from a seasoned musician, then give David Jeremy a try. He plays almost exclusively now in the JACKSON area and that’s quite fortunate for those locals and visitors alike. Oh, and by the way, the food is pretty damn good too.

Definitely a local treasure. Atmosphere was great, giving the upper midwest cowboy feel with leather furniture and quaint decor. The place is historical together with the Wort Hotel next door. You can see locals eat here, be respectful and enjoy the place. Steak, asparagus and mash were fully seasoned and done perfectly. Smoked fish platter was tasty, and balanced. Dessert selection was plenty. Wish my stay at Jackson was longer so I can come again.

Great place for dinner when in Jackson. Great menu (including soups and chowders and fish-n-chips!), good service and welcoming staff. The bar’s good too. We went twice!

Our guide for a Tetons tour told us about the Silver Dollar Bar & Grill, saying it was a "must visit" in downtown Jackson. We arrived for a drink in the bar area, before heading to the restaurant side for dinner. We enjoyed the lively vibe at the bar. Dinner was good, but nothing to rave about. Glad we checked this long-term staple of downtown!

Go here knowing you aren't visiting a Michelin star restaurant. You go here for the vibe. It's in the historic Wort hotel. Great spot with great atmosphere. A plus if you make it on a live music night. Service is fine and food is quick. We do love the corn chowder and the bison chili. Club Sandwich was great, its HUGE. Nachos were meh, big portion though. Elk sliders were very dry they needed mayo or a sauce. French Dip was fine. Onion rings are great and crispy.

The Silver Dollar Bar on N. Glenwood St. in Jackson, Wyoming located in the Wort Hotel is a historic property dating back to 1941 and is located right on the main drag in town. The bar serves everything from soups and salads, and sandwiches. But also has a delicious dining room menu, which includes steak fish, and wild game. I thought service was good and my drink tasted good as well.

Ordered takeout from here after a long travel day and just wanted some soup and salad. The house salad was excellent as was the chili. Also loved the flourless chocolate cake for dessert!

Unfortunately we were really disappointed in our dinner tonight. The "famous" corn chowder, meatloaf, and huckleberry mousse were all extremely underwhelming. If you are looking for good quality food, I would avoid this restaurant. The meatloaf and mousse were especially bad, only took 1 bite of each and didn't finish. It's too bad, it was a good location and The Wort is beautiful. I have visited Jackson every year for about 20 years now and this was the worst meal I've had so far. I'm sorry to be so negative, but I hope they can make some changes with recipes/quality of food they serve.

Decently cold beer here. Sat at the bar at first. It was crowded. Bartender was rude to a waitress..not very cool. A different bartender told me that I had to move a seat over so that a customer who eats there 2xs a day for the past 20 years could sit there. When I left 90 minutes later the seat was still empty. I moved to a table and had a salad with blue cheese dressing along with a bison filet. Both were very good.

The silver dollar bar & grill was okay... The food wasn't anything to rave about. I had a grilled chicken sandwich, with the pesto mayo on the side - I didn't end up liking that (I'm just not a fan of pesto) so I got a side of bbq sauce- which was awful. The service was a bit slow- there only seemed to be one server on our side of the restaurant. My son asked for a side of ranch when his meal came out and didn't end up getting it until he was finished eating. The decor was really fun to look at, and there were silver dollars in the tables which was cool. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this place to anyone but if you want a meal in the area it isn't a horrible choice.

Walked into this place and was greeted right away by the friendly host! She took us to our table right away where we were seated! The ambience was upbeat and they had music playing in the background! Pricing was decent and the menu selection was very good! I ordered the buffalo burger with steak fries which was a good size burger and very delicious and flavorful would definitely order again! Our order came out hot and fresh and came out super quick! And service was excellent! I would highly recommend this place whenever you're in town!

Casual spot downtown Jackson - the food is reasonably priced (compared to most of the city) and the bar service was great. I thought there was live music but the band was only on for about 5 min while I was there. The bar tender was attentive and friendly and the drink pours were great. I got the Buffalo burger and was disappointed- what was supposed to be medium cook was more like well done and it tasted greasy/had a strong aftertaste of being overly cooked. The fries however were delicious - crispy and small but still soft in the middle. Overall, not my top pick but an ok choice !

I ordered the chicken tenders with a side of buffalo sauce. Halfway through, as I dipped my chicken in the sauce a nasty short black crimped hair came out and thank god I saw it. I literally spit out my chicken and let the server know immediately. She was very nice and didn't charge us but are the kitchen workers not wearing hair nets??? Hair in food is a biological hazard come on folks. This place is old but the standards shouldn't be. Get it together, this should be the top notch place in JH.

Silver Dollar is a solid late night choice for a quick visit to Jackson! Strong pours, reasonable prices, and the food was great! We did elk sliders and the bison chili - the chili was the highlight for me! We met some great people here, and enjoyed chatting with the bartender too. We'd come back and return!

Jack the Bartender was an amazing dude! Me and my friends went to the silver dollar and he was so entertaining and fun and when we got creeped on by a weird drunk man he waited with us to make sure we were safe! Love Jack!

So much fun!!! We popped in to listen to the band. They're a super fun lively band. The floor is hopping with incredible dancers! I got an old fashioned and it was delicious and service was pretty fast. The place looks super cool. It's exactly what you'd expect!

We stopped by here on our last day at Jackson Hole for breakfast before heading to airport. We were greeted with a smile as we walked in. Small things count and there are those who still don't get it. I rdered omellete, my wife ordered the Full Teton and my mother ordered a plate of fruits. We all enjoyed our meal. I personally like the elk tips in my omelet. Our food were serve in no time. We love the atmosphere as well. I highly recommend this place.

Omg the food was so good. I got the elk slider two. Now I'm not an onion ring eater but they so good and the breaded didn't fall off when eating them. Husband got the Buffalo burger. He could not stop talking about this burger. Buffalo Burger was seasoned good and full of flavor. The service was phenomenal. Super friendly people food was quick but so delish. It was super crowded and the ambiance was chill and welcoming. Definitely will stop by again.

We recently went to Wyoming for the first time... we loved it! Especially this restaurant for the music on Tuesday nights... we had so much fun!! I absolutely loved their famous corn chowder soup!! The best I've ever had!! Their veggie burger was very good too!! Oh and their very crispy onion rings!! Yummy! BUT Their orange cake was blah... no flavor ... we took one bite and couldn't take another... I would not recommend it.... Beer options were very good too... Moose Drool was my favorite!

Food was yummy, Al Fresca dining, slow service. The Elk was tender and tasty-would recommend. Kids menu available.

Told to come here for the burger. Pretty sure it was a preformed patty, not hand pattied, not a lot of flavor. But after removing the bun from my burger everything tasted better. Maybe the sesame bun was old? Regardless, it didn't taste that great. Wouldn't return for a burger.

The Silver Dollar Bar & Grill was the recommendation of a friend. It is a big restaurant in a hotel in downtown Jackson with a large full bar and a big dining room. It is an attractive, upscale restaurant loaded with casually dressed tourists. The service is excellent - attentive and team oriented. The wine selection is extensive and the cocktails are very well made. The food is generally pretty good. So, you ask, why 4 stars? The salmon dish was so salty that two people at the table could not eat it. Of course, I had eaten saltier stuff earlier in our trip, so I made do with it. The trout was opposite - underseasoned and not very flavorful. The burgers tend to overcooked as did the pork chop, but they were still tasty. The chili is outstanding as was the bison ravioli. The sourdough and butter were also great. The desserts were decent - a little underwhelming. Overall, we had a lovely evening. The wine was the BEST as was the staff. Stick with the chili for a great meal.

Really enjoyed this place. Beer was cold, had a great variety of options on the menu, and quality life music. I had a cup of the Bison Chilli and the Elk gyro. Delicious! Ill eat here again whenever im back in town. Quick service as well

The veggie burger was really good. It's flavorful and cooked well. The seasoned fries were the other popular item at the table. They have a more lively bar area where you can enjoy your meal with music or you can opt to sit in their restaurant area. They have a couple tables outside too. The employees were attentive and they we did not have to wait for a table during their weekday lunch hours.

My chicken dish tasted old and made my stomach hurt. My boyfriend's food also hurt his stomach. No one's food at the table looked good. Would not spend money here

My husband and I had dinner here and we should've stayed sitting at the bar (grill side) because our bartender was very friendly and we enjoyed our time. However, we moved to the restaurant side (bar side) to have dinner. We both got a steak and it was honestly the worst steak we've ever had. It was cooked and looked like it was cooked again, they were both burnt and hard to even chew. We told the waitress when she asked how everything was, we mentioned our steak was too done and she looked at it and said it looked fine. This was one of the only restaurants opened for a "nice" dinner given it was our anniversary and a lot of places were closed due to off season so it was pretty disappointing. On a happy note, the artichoke dip was delicious so you may be better off ordering appetizers rather than a $60 steak.

This was a really cool spot and felt like a true Jackson spot. Very historic and cool decor around. We only got drinks here so can't comment on the food (although it smelled amazing!). The cocktail menu was great and we tried a few options because they all sounded so good. Service was really fast and everyone was very nice and helpful.

We had dinner and breakfast at this location with a large corporate group. Sadly, they definitely were overwhelmed and the food for dinner was just okay. The appetizers were more impressive than the entrees. Breakfast was much better for me, however they got my husbands order wrong but he ate it anyway since they were already struggling. If I were back in the area I MAY would give them another shop after trying several other places first.

Not sure why The Silver Dollar wouldn't have at least four stars so let's help change the narrative. This is a Jackson Hole staple and learning how much history is under this roof makes all the sense. Inside the Wort Hotel (opened in 1941) you will find the most inviting and I'm sure "happenin" spot on a late night. They are a restaurant, bar, and showroom featuring local and regional bands with live performances. We stopped in before hitting the slopes and immediately tried their famous corn chowder as recommended by our waitress. Which confirmed their 'famous' theory. You can even go to their website to find the recipe. I know because I looked. I had a Caesar salad with a side of fries because balance. The salad was huge in portion with a great dressing to lettuce ratio while the fries were cooked to just the right crisp. Make a point to roam their hallways to take in the history and artwork throughout all the years. And check out their music schedule and happy hour specials as they've got something going on each day of the week. Like their Whiskey Wednesday -- half off whichever 3 rotating whiskey is on display that week which especially caught my eye.

Love, Love this place! The bartender Phillip was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this place.

I was brought here by Brett on 3/11/2022, by our guide from BrushBuck Wildlife Tours, as part of our all-day sighseeing tour and after lunch, the Elk Refuge sleigh ride. Brett had been to Silver Dollar many times. He was gonna take us for lunch to someplace he'd never been to, but when he called, the restaurant said they were only doing take out that day. Brett recommended the Elk Gyros, and I woulda selected that anyhow, as I like the most exotic thing on the menu. i didn't like our server, an older very thin woman, I thought she was off-handed and defensive, like she was tired of her job. The elk gyros didn't come with enough cucumber sauce, which other reviews mentioned the same, that it needed more. There was only a small dab of sauce inside, on only one side, and only on half of the pita, like cook was in a big hurry. Our server didn't come back to ask if everything was OK, so I had to chase down another server to get me more cucumber sauce, so I could get it before the others at my table finished eating. Eventually one dauce wasn't even enough, i used up two sauce containers. The elk gyros meat itself was quite dry, and had gristle in each piece that I liken to chewing small wads of newspaper. i had to spit it out. I am not so familiar with eating elk, but I think it is about the elk meat, not the preparation. I had the sauce all over my face. I chose sweet potato fries as my side, and it was really delicious, stayed crispy even after we finished lunch. They gave us a generous amount too, so that i took it back to the condo and enjoyed it again. I would not order the elk gyros again, cos it was dry, tho everyone else who reviewed the elk gyros seemed to like it, tho mentioned not enough cucumber sauce. The sweet potato fries were 5 star, but the service attitude and gyros, somewhat boring, 3 stars, which Yelp just calls "good". I don't recall ever critiquing a restaurant's choice of napkins before, but I sure didn't like the cloth napkins here. They were extra stiff, like a piece of hard leather, can hardly fold and wipe. I really needed the napkin to be functional due to the white cucumber sauce being so messy. Napkin did not absorb, only smeared. Poor linen service.

Looked packed the night before we went so we decided to try it. It was dead at 7pm on a Saturday. We stayed. I ordered an old fashioned which was good but for a $14 drink you need the real dark cherries if you want to charge that much. My husband got a red breast double. They charged us $40!! You can buy a bottle for $60-70.... Insane. Bread was good. I got the braised short ribs. Very good but not $40 good. My husband got the jh strip and it was so thin that it would have taken 3 to be a normal steak. The food tasted good but for the money it was not worth it. Service was fine. Hence 3 stars but We won't go back.

I was the unfortunate one who ordered chicken tenders. They were frozen and not good at all. Everything else I saw on other people plates looked great. Sadly mine was horrible. Do not order the chicken tenders. I would not have except we are going to a nice steakhouse for dinner so I wanted something other than beef. The fresh cut steak fries could have been amazing, except they were cold.

I like it here! Yes downtown Jackson is a bit of a tourist trap but a fun one! Silver Dollar Bar brings the old west to life! Live country music, DANCING (no line dancing!!!!!!) the food is actually good a bit expensive, friendly staff and great drinks highly recommend the Manhattan or Old Fashioned. Definitely recommend!

I was visiting for a few days and this spot was my go to. Staying down the street, it was an easy walk. Went there several times for lunch, happy hour and blue grass Tuesday! Food is simple, well done and delish. I wish I could give service 10 stars. Every busser, bartender, server were so friendly. Didn't stay at the hotel, but I think I will next time. Opening the door for you, front desk folks greeting you. I forgot the names of the workers, but they all deserve a raise! Can't wait to come back.

This is a no-nonsense old famous, or infamous, bar and grill inside The historic Wort hotel in downtown Jackson Hole. It's charming and has a cool bar vibe with live music and entertainment most nights of the week. We stopped in for a light lunch and had the Elk sliders with onion rings and the elk and bison meatballs. The sliders were good and are served either as 1, 2 or 3 which is nice so you can choose how many you want. The onion rings served with the sliders were super fresh and crispy and tasted homemade. The meatballs were loaded with way too much BBQ and cheese and were swimming in a vat of BBQ sauce with only about 4 meatballs inside. I didn't care for them at all and would not order again. I like to taste my food - not just the heavy sauce. Menu had tons of items on it and service was clipped but quick. The food was out quickly and the place was spotless. Bathrooms were especially nice and clean. It's located on the Main Street in Jackson so it's easy to find and easy to shop nearby which I always love. Lots of street parking for 3 hours can be found all around so it makes a visit much easier.

The Silver Dollar bar was fun! They had live music but it wasn't like overly obnoxiously loud but definitely a good time! Still able to talk amongst the table too. Very limited menu, I'm not sure if this is because staffing reasons or why but that was a little disappointing. Caprese sandwich was good! Just enough balsamic added to it give it great taste but not make it soggy. Chips were a little different side, fries probably would have been more my jam for a dinner meal. The hummus portion for the veggie & hummus appetizer was ridiculous! There was so much! No veggie went untouched with that hummus!! Green chili chicken chowder came out in a beautiful bread bowl! One of the top meals from this trip! Bartenders margarita was okay, tasted a tad like sprite. Wyoming Mule was delicious! & I also loved the High Point Cider! Would love to check the grill out next time!

We had a great time here! Our waitress was wonderful on the first night. She was very kind and helpful. Most of the bartenders we met were surly and cantankerous, with the most notable exception of Graeme. He was absolutely magnificent and the bright spot of our entire trip. He had an easy-going sensibility and kindness that permeated his every action. We never got to enjoy dinner here because they were always too full, but we had some good times late at night here. The hours are odd. Sometimes they close on time, and other times they're open way past 10 PM. It seems like the locals get to stay as long as they want. An interesting little place that you should probably check out.

Came for lunch & had a Reuben & a French dip. Both were good. It's a cool aesthetic with silver dollars inlaid in the bar. The service was a little lax but I'll give them a pass since it was busy.

Had a great time listening to live bluegrass on Tuesday. It was very busy but service was great and I loved my Buffalo burger with avocado, side of onion rings. Hubby said pulled pork sandwich was standard.

Low key sports bar vibe in a killer location. Chicken pot pie was delicious and hit the spot on a cold evening. Extremely reasonable prices compared to a lot of other local spots. Will definitely be back.

Stopped in for some brunch. Two seats at the bar opened up in a couple minutes, perfect. Natasha was very prompt and super nice. Started with some beer of course. My man got the Mighty Bison Brown and I got the Wilson IPA. Both beers are great local craft beers. The wait has been long due to low staff. The same problem that a lot of the country is currently facing. I got the salad and added grilled chicken. My man got the Silver Dollar Burger with American Cheese and Steak Fries. The fries were super hot and good. The burger was a little on the pink side, still juicy and delicious. The salad was a spring mix with veggies, the grilled chicken I added was overcooked, but the Balsamic was good. We finished our beers just about before the food arrived. So due to the long wait our wonderful bartender gave us beers for free. Then she gave us another round later and comped them as well. Sweet, we left a great tip.

I ate here on a recent trip to Jackson, WY with my wife and mother in law. Overall, the staff was nice, but the food was mediocre at best. Further the speed of the service was poor. The reason why we chose this restaurant is that it was open before many of the other restaurants in the Jackson downtown area. We were hungry and it was before many of the other restaurants opened at 11:30 am. We arrived here at 10:50 am. We asked if we could sit outside, but were told we could not as the outside area was only for lunch service, and that we could not be seated for lunch as their brunch service was still going on, and lunch did not start until 11:00 am. We're decided that since it was nearly 11:00 am, that we would wait. They seated us in their bar area to wait. At just 11:00 am we asked a female staff member, whom would later become our server, if we could be seated outside. She told us yes, and seated us a table outside. A few moments later, a male server approached us and informed us that we "couldn't just sit down," and that we needed to be seated by a staff member. After we informed him we had been seated by another staff member, he relented. So far, not perfection, but not terrible. Shortly thereafter, our server took our order, but if informed us that the kitchen was shifting from brunch to lunch and there might be some delays. I ordered fish n' chips, but only because the restaurant was out of elk meat needed to make the elk gyros I originally wanted. My wife ordered the small plate of nachos. My mother in law ordered a cheese burger and fries. I will admit that I have not worked in food service, and understand that there be some sort of transition from a brunch service to lunch service, but my fish and chips and my wife's nachos were not served until 11:45 (45 minutes after seating and 55 minutes after we arrived at the restaurant). Moreover, at this time, my mother in law's cheese burger and fries were nowhere in sight. Several times, our server apologized for the delay in my mother in law's order assured us that the cheese burger and fries would be served soon. Around noon, the server told us the cheese burger was being "assembled." In the meantime, we were hungry, and my wife and I began to eat. My mother in law shared the nachos with my wife as she was very hungry at this point as well. The food itself was disappointing. My fish, while fried decently, was overcooked. My fries were ok, but not great. The chicken from my wife's nachos was tough and stringy. Both of our dishes were subpar. The saga of the missing cheese burger continued. To her credit, our server offered to get my mother some other food, but my mother in law decline as she wanted the cheese burger specifically. At one point, I saw another table served a burger and fries my mother in law's cheese burger was still tardy. Then, without request, our server brought to the table a cup of tomato, rice and chicken soup. My mother in law did want this soup nor did she request it. The soup so-so, at best. Finally, at 12:25, we asked the server to cancel the order for the cheese burger and fries and bring us the check. The server complied. After paying, and the server profusely apologizing, the server brought my mother in law the cheese burger and fries in a to go box. Ultimately, we were not charged for it. If you are keeping score, that's more than one hour and 25 minutes from the time we were seated with no cheese burger and fries. To her credit, our server was very nice, genuinely concerned about the absent burger, and, at the end of the day, made things right. However, waiting 45 minutes for fish 'n chips and nachos is not acceptable. Moreover, the mysterious delay in the cheese burger and fries just too much. While I am still interested in the elk gyros that I never got to have, and our server was a decent and nice person, this restaurant belongs on the avoid list.

Quick server service, however, my son's meal was never turned in to the kitchen, so we all had meals and he did not for another 15 minutes or so. We had to ask to see the manager and then her plan was only a minor discount. Wasn't worth the effort. Cool ambiance though.

The food was NOT seasoned added topics I did not order to make it 3 $ extra .Service was fast the waiter I had was beyond rude . Waiter also added automatic 20% tip with out permission 1 star

Trout and steaks were good. Service was ok. The history of the Wort Hotel is interesting. Jackson is a beautiful western town and the Resturant has a lot of nice western art.

I took my family here because of the ambience and the menu looked good. We were seated in the back by what I can only assume was the main hvac unit as the table and chairs were vibrating. The first time the waitress came by, I told her my wife and daughter were in the restroom and would be right back so she said she would come back in just a few minutes. When my wife returned, the waitress was talking to another waitress for 5 minutes or so even though she saw that we were ready. When she finally came back, we asked if we could move over a table since the wall and table were vibrating strangely. She curtly said yes and as we moved tables, she left to take an order at a different table. It was a terrible experience so we walked out. Hopefully it's just one bad waitress.

Cheese and kitschy - if that's your thing then great. But it lacks authenticity. The saddle seats at the bar seem like a fun idea until you have to an actually sit in one more than a couple of minutes. And you'll be in one for several minutes as the bartenders seem to serve you whenever it suits them. And you'll wait even longer to get your tab. I tried to order from the grill but after ten minutes at the window and my beer getting warm on the bar (at my saddle) I finally gave up. I can't rate the food but the service is "turrible" in a town full of bars and restaurants, it's the little things that differentiate a place - service and hospitality being chief among them.
