I came here for an event, and they knocked it out of the park. I had never been to this location before, but had visited the old Grapevine location several times with my family.
The service is everything you expect from a finer establishment. Empty plates are taken away and replaced, along with silverware. The timing of each course is perfect and the servers are on the spot but not pushy or invasive.
On to the food! I was here for a wine tasting with bites to accompany and highlight the wine. All in all we tried four wines, all pinot noirs, my favorite. They had a sommelier there to explain our culinary journey and he was informative and friendly. The Oregon selection was paired with a crisp topped by smoked salmon. However, my favorite part of this course was the bread and butter brought for the table to share. Crusty bread accompanied with VERY good salted butter. If you have had a good Irish butter, I would say this is comparable. I could have been happy with just that. A representative from France was paired with bacon and breadcrumb stuffed mushrooms. A lovely California wine paired with a bite of stewed beef and sugar snap peas. The peas are a staple of the Silver Fox, and one of my favorites. Our first course was my absolute favorite, and I am still thinking about it today. As an off menu item, they have a charcuterie board. It can always be requested, but the manager said you could call head to make sure it was available. It was paired with a lovely, light pinot from New Zealand. The board had prosciutto, a lovely goat cheese encircled by cranberry, an olive tapenade, sour cherry compote, berries, rosemary crackers, and a crunchy cranberry toast. I loved it so much. We started with it, but it would also be a wonderful way to end a meal. I would gladly take this over their chocolate cake, for dessert. And they make awesome chocolate cake! It is definitely worth a trip to Fort Worth, of one of their other locations.
