The Best Nevada Road Trip Stops From Reno to Lake Tahoe | Eater Vegas

"Large downtown casino-resort that anchors a multi-property complex; notable for a massive, kaleidoscopic silver-mining rig centerpiece towering over the gaming floor and a full-service casino experience." - Lucas Kwan Peterson

We stayed at the Silver Legacy Reno from December 19 through December 21 to celebrate our anniversary. While the room itself was fine, it did not feel worth the price we paid for an upgraded suite.||The hotel was extremely crowded with teenagers and children due to what appeared to be a large wrestling tournament. While events happen, the property did not seem prepared to handle the volume of guests or manage the overall environment, which had a noticeable impact on our stay.||At check-in, we were asked if we wanted housekeeping service during our stay, and we requested service for the morning of our second day. We were out all morning and returned around 1:00 PM to find the room had not been serviced at all. When we called housekeeping, we were told they were on lunch. We then checked with the front desk, but instead of offering a solution, they shifted responsibility back to housekeeping. The lack of coordination between departments was frustrating and uncomfortable.||After submitting a complaint through the Ivy 24/7 texting service, a manager called me back about an hour later. While the manager listened, they explained that housekeeping and the front desk operate separately and do not work closely together. That response was concerning for a resort of this size, especially one that is part of a three-property complex that includes Circus Circus and the Eldorado.||On Friday night around 10:00 PM, we walked through all three connected properties. The Circus Circus food court was chaotic, with large groups of teenagers, at least one person passed out on the ground, and no visible security or staff managing the situation. It did not feel well supervised or safe.||Both my partner and I have fond memories of visiting these properties in the past, including childhood visits and trips in my early twenties. Unfortunately, the overall experience has declined significantly.||As an apology for the housekeeping issue, one night of the resort fee was waived. While that gesture was appreciated, it did not come close to making up for the experience, particularly given that this was an anniversary trip.||We left disappointed and do not plan to return.

My husband and I did a get away as. Our Christmas present and picked Silver Legacy for their Player Suite so we could have the large soaking tub. Everything was great until at 10pm at night we discovered that the main reason that we booked the room, the large tub, would not plug as the plug was broken and last day we wanted to do is call maintenance at 10 o’clock at night or have to re pack our stuff and switch rooms on our special getaway. So we just let it be. The next morning at 6 AM. It was discovered that the coffee maker also did not work. When we went downstairs to talk to the front desk, they only were willing to compass the resort fee, which was maybe $40. So as much as we want to come back due to the overall vibe and amenities being good, the loyalty is lacking. A comped or half credit for a room for another stay would have been nice. If they reach out to make this right, then I’ll reconsider.

Depressing smelly lobby, decent rooms upstairs Silver Legacy Reno feels like an empty, depressing reflection of what Reno has become. I remember when this city seemed like a destination worth visiting, but those days are gone. First Impressions Walking in from the valet or shuttle drop-off, the smell hits immediately: a harsh mix of mildew and stale cigarette smoke. The lobby is dim, dated, and frankly depressing. Check-In Experience The line at the front desk was long and moved very slowly. Thankfully, the electronic kiosks were efficient and saved a lot of time. When you check in, skip the line and use the kiosks. Room Quality Once upstairs, things improved. The room was reasonably comfortable, surprisingly quiet, and the mountain view was decent. The shower had excellent water pressure and temperature control. Amenities Ice machine was available, but there was no filtered water, which should be standard these days. Instead, vending machines sold sodas and Dasani bottled water for $4 each, which felt like a cynical money grab. Overall The entry and lobby area are very unpleasant, but once you get past them, the rooms themselves are much better.

I had read a number of reviews before my stay and was a little concerned what I was going to. Upon arrival, I used the fast check-in seamlessly and went to my room. This was clean and well presented. Throughout my 2 week stay my room was cleaned daily, always to a high standard. The elevators worked well my entire stay so if there had been issues, they were obviously fixed. The staff were very pleasant and helpful also, and overall, my stay was a pleasant one. The resort fees and various taxes added on to the room rate I find confusing. I would rather just know what the total room cost is up front and pay that. The overall nightly cost though was very reasonable. I only mention this in the hope that hotels like this become a bit more transparent with their charges.

The dark silvery décor felt more gloomy than stylish, but at least the rooms seemed updated.||Amenities|Ice machines were available, but no filtered water. In 2025, that feels like a cynical money grab rather than hospitality.|Safety and Location|The area felt safe enough, but mostly because the streets were empty of cars and pedestrians. Reno itself seems hollowed out compared to years past, and Silver Legacy mirrors that emptiness.||Overall|Silver Legacy is a tale of two experiences: depressing, smelly lobby and entry areas, followed by decent rooms upstairs. If you can stomach the first impression, the stay improves. The property desperately needs investment in its public spaces. Right now, it feels like a dated reflection of Reno’s decline rather than a destination worth visiting.

This place is one of the best customer service locations in Reno. We loved our room and rhe front desk ladies were very welcoming. Wish we could say the same for the night manager. He was not helpful at all when the bell desk man disappeared and we could not get our bags delivered to our room for over an hour after we asked the second time almost 3 hours apart. But our servers at the café were awesome and everyone else we came into contact with were very kind. We would still recommend this place.

Disappointing Experience at Silver Legacy Reno My stay at Silver Legacy Reno was unfortunately not what I would expect from a large casino hotel that’s part of the Caesars chain. While the bed itself was pretty comfortable, the experience was overshadowed by several issues with the room. There was an active roof leak in both the bathroom and the main bedroom area. The leak in the bedroom was directly over my luggage, and several articles of my clothing were soaked. I placed them in a bag to bring home and wash, assuming they’d be fine. I notified the hotel right away so they could address the leak before it caused more damage to the room. When I spoke with the front desk, the only thing they offered was to return my deposit—which would have been returned to me anyway at checkout. I was expecting some form of actual compensation for the inconvenience, but none was offered. Once I returned home and washed my clothes, several items came out with spots that resembled bleach stains, likely from whatever leaked from the ceiling. I contacted the hotel again, and they told me there was nothing they could do because my booking was made through Expedia. Overall, this was a very disappointing stay. I hope management takes these issues seriously and improves how they handle situations like this, especially given the standards expected from a Caesars property.

This was our first visit to Silver Legacy. Our room was clean and comfortable, including a Kerig and fridge. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially TJ. We enjoyed Brew Brothers so much we went twice. Jamshid was a great waiter, very attentive to us. The casino has a nice mix of slots, the rest rooms were clean. The only negative were a bank if elevators were not working our entire stay.

Yelp
Silver Legacy is a Caesars casino and hotel property in Reno. I recently stayed here for a few nights on a work trip and though not a place I would consider "a must stay" I don't have too much to complain about. Self check in was relatively quick and I appreciate that more hotels are utilizing this feature, especially when lines are long at these types of hotels. Elevators were slow my entire stay, but what are you gonna do? Rooms are clean and a good size. The queen bed was very comfortable. The room had a little coffee maker that always ressurrects me in the mornings. The bathroom had a big mirror and lots of counter space. Best part of the room was the shower with big time shower pressure. For me, that's a huge plus! The property has a few Gordon Ramsay restaurants. We took advantage of his fish & chips concept and it was great for a quick meal. We had drinks at one of the nearby bars and I would say our experience was just okay. They needed a lot more people working there and we waited forever on both rounds of drinks. The property itself reads classic casino to me. Maybe a little outdated in certain parts, but I'll admit for someone like me who doesn't visit too many casinos, it's kind of charming. I wouldn't be running back here if I knew I was staying in Reno. Nothing personal, just think there are other properties that can offer a better overall experience!

Yelp
I stayed here from 10/9-10/13 and had a really awful experience. For my entire stay, 2 out of the 4 elevators to my floor were not working and I had to wait an extremely long time to get up and down. There were long lines at the elevators. Elevators were packed and felt unsafe in terms of weight capacity. I was looking forward to staying here because there was a pool and hot tub advertised, but the pool is only 3.5 feet deep. I felt tricked, as I was expecting an actual swimming pool not a kiddie pool. The hot tub was also broken and empty when I visited the pool area. It seems pretty deceptive to charge a resort fee for this paucity of amenities. A huge disappointment. I was also shocked that there was no microwave available anywhere in the building. I have stayed in many hotels but I never stayed at a hotel where there is no microwave available anywhere. There are few water fountains available in the building and the public bathrooms sinks only dispense hot water, which is not refreshing to drink. The ironing board in my hotel room needed a replacement as well. I knew that the smoke in the building was going to be unpleasant, so I was glad to stay on a non-smoking floor, but all over the other hazards, inconveniences, and disruptions made this stay excruciating.

Yelp
Update: do people really believe these responses from the casino? We both know your not changing anything or talking to anyone about any issues. I went to talk to front desk and they couldn't care less. And we still had to pay resort fees....... Not impressed, making everyone wait to check in till exactly 3pm is ridiculous now we all have to check in at once are you kidding me? No glasses inthe rooms or water. Elevators don't work takes forever to get back and forth to rooms. Bartender only makes the servers drinks we sat at bar 25mins for a drink on a Monday afternoon that's just sad. If we wanted this kind of experience we would book circus circus....

Yelp
An older hotel & casino located in the heart of Reno. My favorite band, Air Supply, was playing here & that is what brought me here, along with friends who were staying at the hotel. Very nice place with lots of food places to eat at. The showroom where the band held their concert is located downstairs & is an awesome venue. The acoustics & sound are amazing! There is also a separate area inside the venue for selling band merchandise. There is a large sculpture that goes from the ground to the ceiling, the top part being concealed from a dome. Everyone loves to look at it & take photos with it as their background. Even I did it! Overall, a good place to go & has a lot of celebrity history behind it, as evidenced by posters on the hallway walls upon entering from the valet area. They do have awesome valet service here as well.

Yelp
I have stayed here many times. They are not the greatest but decent for a weekend stay. Rooms and bathrooms were updated a bit. The carpet in the room is outdated but not a deal breaker. Spacious room. Front desk staff were friendly. They give bottle waters and bags of snacks. Check-in time is at 3pm sharp. If checking in early, there is a fee.

Yelp
One night downtown on a Monday so hotel and sports book both in the plan. Check in was the worst part of our stay. 4 people checking in and two staff behind the counter. 8 empty kiosks, being ignored. Then 10 people then 16. One person stepped out of line and asked a staff member for assistance with the kiosk. His check in was still several minutes. Still 15 in line. It was apparently the 3 o'clock rush. It wouldn't be so bad but as my wife pointed out 2 staffers were seemingly standing around doing nothing. Maybe they were but to a customer nope. Off to our room. Very nice! Clean and everything working as it should. Shower, sink AC, TV, lights and toilet. You'd be surprised how seldom everything works. Quite pleased. Now to sports book and football. Got a table and enjoyed the game. Plenty TVs for everyone to see all that was going on. Allowing smoking is the only thing I would change. A fun experience for both of us. I'll be back to visit my money soon! The night in the room was quiet and uneventful just the way we like it. We will return soon for sure.

Yelp
Best Hotel & Casino in Reno. Check in was awesome; kudos to Coleen F. She has done a phenomenal job in checking us in and check out.

Yelp
I stayed at the silver legacy for a line dance event/ rodeo and let me tell you that was a mistake. First of all the staff, rude. The way they speak to you, the way the "help" you truly makes you wonder why they are in the hospitality industry. No one in the staff seems to care. When we checked into the hotel, the hotel staff was aware that the low-rise tower had elevator issues, yet they decided to place us there anyway. We were late to all our classes, all our events because there was only one elevator working. By the next day, when my roommate and I decided to speak to the front desk, no one wanted to help us until we spoke to the manager and his solution for us was to comp one resort fee and move us rooms... Great we move to the midrise tower to now have all the elevators shut down for more than 5 hours. It was very embarrassing to have security have to escort me from my room on the 25th floor all the way to the lobby because we could not take the stairs nor there was any way for us to leave our floor. On top of that, checking in to our "new room" The HVAC was not working properly, we found clothes that belonged to the previous guest, our room smelled like a gym locker and the bathroom had hair all over the floor. When we went to the desk to request to speak to someone they would "advise us" that a manager would be in contact with us. By the time check out came, we went to the desk once again and we were told there was no manager on duty so a manager would contact us. It has been 3 weeks, and I have been calling 10+ times trying to get a manager to speak to me and no one has responded. If I could give 0 stars to this hotel I would do so. The hotel is dirty, broken down, the staff does not care (for lack of better terms) and trying to get a solution is a headache. Paying $600 plus resorts fees for this hotel is an absolute nightmare.

Yelp
Update: As I said I did share with management and got zero sympathy and now 2 days later the elevators are still not all working. Don't stay here unless you like standing in line 30-40 minutes to go up or down the elevator! 3 out of 4 elevators for the floors 4-17 are broken. We had an elevator full to capacity and still stuffed 2 more people on and then on the next floor down our elevator opened and a guy saw that we were full and said "Oh I think there is still room" and he showed into me hard pushing me over into the people behind me. I told the managers and they only said they are working one the elevators but its been 2 days, but there are at least 3 broke, how long does it take to fix one and did they really all break at the same time? Sounds wrong to me.... this is the worst experience and very disappointing. They did not care at all that I was assaulted by being shoved and then having a strange man pressed up against me against my will in the elevator.

Yelp
We came up to Reno for a Concert at the Silver Legacy. Elvis Costello - fabulous show . Nice venue as well . We arrived a day early . Checked in very smoothly . Went up to our room on the 26th floor. Wonderful view of the mountains and surrounding casinos . Very comfortable room . We feel the room was very affordable for the 3 day stay ( Saturday-Tuesday) My husband and our friend enjoyed the pool area . We enjoyed our gaming in the casino . Good drinks as well . When come to Reno we always enjoy our stay at the Silver Legacy.

Yelp
Stayed here with my family and not sure Silver Legacy would be my first choice coming back to Reno. ROOM: The rooms felt very small, especially for 2 Queen Beds. There was a very narrow walkway between the bed and the desk stand. Otherwise the room was clean and smelled good when we checked in. CASINO: The Casino was very expensive on weekends, basically $25 minimum table games, which I would expect if we were on the Las Vegas strip but didn't realize Reno commanded such prices. POOL: The pool was tiny and cramped. You need to be there first if you want a place to lounge in the sun. Also what made it not enjoyable was the water fountain which would splash water due to the winds. Not only that but you need to use the pool before 3PM, because at 3PM the sun gets blocked by hotel tower, and you will be cold in the shade. The pool was also not heated and actually very cold when we went in June. GYM: The gym is located on the 4th floor and you should go before 9am earlier as it gets very packed with people. Overall, enjoyed my stay at Silver Legacy but would love to check out another hotel before coming back here.

Yelp
Only 1 elevator work for 40 floors. Took an hour of waiting before deciding to walk down the fire escape. This place is turning into crap.

Sabrina S.

Yelp
Silver legacy is the only casino/hotel at the row that has a pool so I decided to stay here since it's summer. The pool area isn't too big but at the same time it wasn't too bad, maybe it's because I stayed during the weekday.

Judith O.

Yelp
The hotel room elevators at the Silver Legacy are horrible. On Saturday morning, 10/11/25, at 8:30 am, they were not functioning for floors 17-26. Several people called and spoke with security. They informed us that all of us on floor 24 would be taken down in the service elevator. We waited over 15 minutes from the first call to security and in the second call we asked when they will be getting us. The officer said our floor was first to be taken to the lobby!! We ultimately waited over 50 minutes to finally squeeze into a full elevator going up so we could then go to the lobby!! When checking out that day, I shared my disappointment with the elevator situation. The front desk assistant manager said the elevator company has been called and they were sorry. I asked is there anything you can do for us and this inconvenience. She gave us small water bottles. So don't stay at the Silver Legacy even if you are a Caesar Rewards member. Also, they charge a $44 dollar daily resort fee!

Jessica R.

Yelp
We stayed 4 nights for a conference. It was awful. The elevators were down the entire time. By today when we left only 1 was working. It took us 20 min just to get an elevator to leave. We had too many work items with us to attempt the stairs. Also, there were toe nail clippings on the bathroom floor.
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
Rooms are updated and very clean. Only issue we had was the bed felt like a marshmallow with lumps.

Nicole R.

Yelp
It's ironic that you have staff available on weekends to respond to Yelp reviews, but no one from risk management or management was available to address a serious safety issue during my stay. I reported this in person and through multiple channels, and not a single person could assist me before I left today. Your apology rings hollow when there's no action behind it. At this point, I've reported this to the health department, emailed Caesars corporate, and posted publicly because I'm still waiting for someone to take accountability. If this isn't resolved immediately, I'll be disputing the charge with my credit card company.

Yelp
Some staff need to improve their attitude, long story short they were a bit rude and caught us off guard and in the process of me and him playing black jack we lost our bet. I just feel like staff needs to be more considerate, Its my first time gambling and just honestly getting the gist of things. I just turned 21 not to long ago so people should know where Im coming from. We didn't end our night there, decided to leave that spot and just try a different spot. For the staff that has misunderstood us, I lowkey wanted to know the options of what mixed drinks there were but didn't even give us a chance to think. Hotel smells bad, especially the elevators.

Gramen S.

Yelp
The only hotel I stayed in Reno Not disappointed Reno was slow in weeknight Early check in +35USD

K-Lynne V.

Yelp
This place is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in, yet it's clean inside. The service is horrendous. I waited over two hours just to get a room, and I made reservations, and apparently, it's not guaranteed to get the room you booked. I did not enjoy how my kids were on a roller bed nearly falling every second.

Bill G.

Yelp
If you want a low budget experience, this is your place. First, 2 of the 5 elevators for our "tower" worked. And they were questionable. Secondly, the pool. We rented a cabana for $350 and there is no pool service. Getting food was a joke with the CaesarEats app. Fees on top of fees. Drinks, went to get a plastic cup of wine and was told "sorry, I don't have a bottle opener to open the bottle. You can come back later". I said do you do strawberry daiquiris? He was like "hmmm. Ummm " I said, " that machine behind you would say yes". Incompetent. The cabana had bird shit on the cushions. Every other hotel has pool attendants. Not here. Overall, this place sucks. If we come back to the biggest little shit hole in America again, we will go back to the PepperMill. Service 1 Atmosphere 1 Food 0 Location 0. Overall .5 that's .5 not 5. That's 1/2 a point. Caesars should be embarrassed. I'm sorry I brought my wife to this POS.

Brian L.

Yelp
Took 20 minutes to get an elevator to our room on a Friday afternoon. It seems 2 of the 4 elevators were not operating. Not a big deal but it gets more important to be able to get an elevator on Sunday morning around 930 AM. I had a 1030 tee time in south reno at 1030 and thought I could get an elevator to make my tee time. Every elevator going down was packed to the point of being unsafe. I was on the 14 floor out of 17 in the tower. People knew that the only way to get an elevator down was to ride it up and secure a spot. I eventually decided to take the fire exit down on the stairs. 13 flights of stairs were not what I would expect from a top Casino hotel. Fix your elevators!!!

Yelp
While the room at the Silver Legacy was adequate, There is no fan in the bathroom, the television services lack any type of desirable channels if you're traveling with a child unless you want to pay $24.99 for the Disney Channels or nickelodeon, group of channels . The real problem is the elevators. The silver legacy divides their hotels between like banks of rooms so you'll have floors 2 through 17 or 18 through something so on and so forth, we stayed in sections for the elevator of 2 to 17 and that bay of elevators visually consist of four elevators, however, only two simi operational for all of our stay with one being operational for the majority of the time. In order to go down to the lobby, you had to get in an overly packed elevator go up to the top section of your level and then come back down. Additionally, most people would be thinking OK we'll just take the stair stairs so upon taking the stairs, you learned that all emergency exits from the floors beneath you were locked, therefore, forcing you to go through an employee only corridor that you may or may not find if you've ever been there before. The front desk staff is sorely lacking in customer service skills or in ability to compensate for said inconvenience, they think that taking off the resort fees for the two days that you were there is an applicable solution for being trapped in an elevator or trapped on your own floor for anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour waiting just to get downstairs. So of this four bank elevator section that we had access to two of them were never seen functioning when you speak to the hotel staff to tell them they are not functioning, they just say OK we're sorry and nothing can be done about it, additionally housekeeping is sorely lacking in the fact that you can call and ask for a simple request such as bringing an additional pillow to your room and it took a day and a half to get a pillow.( Granted that might've taken so long because the elevators didn't work) Upon speaking with other guests, when reaching the lobby, they were equally as disgusted of their own subsections, having similar elevator problems, and then one person was told by the hotel that they're all like this because we are full. Regardless to the hotel capacity, one would assume that a hotel chain such as silver Legacy, which is owned by Caesars I believe would have the funds available to keep your elevators operational, therefore not creating such a hazard to your safety. Additionally, if you check in before your initial check-in time, there is an assessed $45 early check-in fee and then to find out that you have the elevator problems on top of that you have to check out early in order like as an early in the morning in order to not be late, checking out and therefore be charged again. So if you are ever considering staying at the Silver Legacy in Reno Nevada, I highly recommend asking for a room as close to the ground floor as possible or staying somewhere else and don't expect for any type of compensation to be provided for the fact that you miss events that you had planned and scheduled because you cannot get out of their hotel. I will never stay at Silver Legacy in Reno again and good luck to anyone who does.

Yelp
While in Reno for Hot August Nights, we decided to catch "The Fab Four", a Beatles tribute band that we had seen several years ago. Our seats were not in the center row, but we were in the front row of our section. The show was amazing and the lighting and sound were perfect. I would definitely recommend seeing shows at this venue.

Yelp
I came to Reno with my grandson for a baseball tournament and stayed at the Silver Legacy for a week. The room was adequate and functional. I was expecting 3-star quality and would have given that rating except the rooms were not cleaned. I stayed 8 nights. I was gone all day most days. The first day I returned and found that the room had not been cleaned. The second day I called in the morning and requested cleaning and they came and cleaned that day. The next day - no cleaning. On the fourth day, I called and requested cleaning and when I returned that evening, it had not been done. After that I just left it and just requested clean towels each day when I returned to the room. Over all - in the 8 days, they cleaned twice. The pool was also a disappointment. The water didn't look very clean or appealing, but I assume it met safety standards. Earlier in the day , it was pleasant on the deck, but the water was too cold. By mid afternoon, it was shady and cold & the water temperature was even more of a problem.

Yelp
Silver Legacy is a place that is instantly recognizable around Reno, and has been an established place for years. But this is my first time actually staying here during a bit of a stay-cation. Right off the bat, I very much like the style and layout of this resort. The lobby is lovely, the gaming floors very well laid out, and the inside of the big dome never fails to impress me. Check-in was quite easy, especially using the self-check kiosks. Heading upstairs, I liked the room quite a bit, which was spotlessly clean, had decent decor, and a nice view out towards the mountains. Just make sure to close your curtains at night, or the giant green spotlights will keep you up. Room amenities are what you expect, too; coffee machine, TV, safe, fridge, etc. The rest of the resort also has all the bells and whistles you could want from this sort of hotel, especially when paired with the other two hotels of The Row. I especially like heading over to Hidden Pizza, across the sky bridge in El Dorado, if you want a late-night slice. It is also right in the heart of downtown, and thus close to things like the Riverwalk or Brewery District should you want to get out and about. One whole floor is devoted to the spa area, the gym, and the outdoor pool deck. This rooftop pool area was honestly a bit of a mixed bag. It was indeed quite a nice spot to hang around at. But the pool itself is quite small and shallow, and the hot tub is extremely tiny. The other drawback is the pool area is only open 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, which is a bit of a letdown in case you wanted to do a morning swim or soak in the hot tub later in the evening. I found the service from the staff to all be quite excellent all around; be it the check-in clerk, the cleaning crew, and the folks manning the stores and restaurants. The resort has both valet and self-parking, though you need to drive especially carefully in their garage as the parking spaces and driving lanes are quite narrow, and often larger pickups or SUVs stick out precipitously and become obstructions. As for price, we paid about $350 range, including taxes and fees, for our two nights. For the quality of stay we got, we were both quite pleased with it, though some of the restaurants and bars we felt could be a touch pricy. Though as we were booking, we noticed prices can go up significantly if there is some event going on in or around the time of big events in Reno. All in all, I very much enjoyed my stay at Silver Legacy, and would definitely recommend it as a spot for other visitors to Reno to consider.

Yelp
This is the absolute worst hotel I have ever experienced in my entire life, and I have traveled extensively. Multiple large scale events happening this weekend and out of a bank of four elevators most of the time only one is working. Employees either tell you they just broke last week or they've been out of service since April. Well which one is it folks? I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess it's probably been this way since April. They've also locked the stairwells so you can't even use a stairwell to go from floor to floor. I was on the fifth floor and would gladly have trekked down the stairs to the third floor lobby, but they have the stairwell entry locked. You can only go all the way down to the ground level and outside. This seems to be a severe safety issue that the city of Reno fire department needs to look into. I would never ever, ever recommend this place to anyone for any reason whatsoever.

Yelp
Do NOT reserve by Priceline.com Mid-level casino hotel, getting dated, but ok. The Priceline.com price which should include all resort fees and room taxes is not honored by Silver Legacy. Still trying to get it worked out through Priceline.com but getting the run around.

Yelp
I stayed here with a bus excursion for three nights. The room is spacious and I like the fact that they have coffee makers in the room. It's only a few minutes and the Keurig has brewed a nice cup of coffee. The room is modern but it shows its age because of plugs. There are no outlets at the desk. There is an outlet on the base of each lamp at the end table of the bed so you plug your electronics in there before going to bed. There are three connected properties--the El Dorado, the Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus. There is no need to go outside as the walkway connects all three. That also may cause some problems for thew directionally impaired. We were given food vouchers as part of our trip so I pretty much ate in one off the hotels. Elevators were fast. You must insert your key to move the elevator. There are machines on two levels but the casinos are small compared the the large ones in Las Vegas. One complaint i have about Casears and MGM and Red Rock resorts, put coin back in your ticket redemption machines and stop bilking the public out of a few cents. You are literally nickel and diming your customers. I would stay here again if I were to find myself in Reno.

Yelp
Really good hotel. I'm not sure why it has such terrible reviews. I was scared to stay because of the bad reviews. But I was overall satisfied with the stay. Our room was clean! Service was decent. My only complaint was the air conditioning. It wouldn't go lower than 69, but it didn't feel like 69. The room did cool down in the middle of the night.

Yelp
this is the casino we like to stay in reno when we come visit reno. This casino is located in the midtown which is the perfect location to go to concerts and explore small business restaurants and coffee shops. . . room- . Silver legacy is not a new hotel but it is one of the best ones in midtown reno. The inside rooms is ok, nothing fancy, but is clean to us. We usually get a 2 beds in one room. There is a standing shower which is nice and there is no bath tubs. There is a sink and a toilet. I like how the toilet and standing shower is in one room with a door. The sink is outside so people can use it when someone is using the toilet and shower. There is a fridge in the room so it is convenient to place items inside when we need to. . food - . when we dont want to leave the casino, we would go to the central cafe which is downstairs and they are open 24/7 if we need food. There is also a starbucks inside which is convenient. We just discover the dessert shop next to the vip lounge is amazing. They have great dessert pies to eat. We love the fruit tart which isnt too sweet. . bell service - . it is convenient when we checked out the room and left our luggage with the bell service. We didnt have to wait a long time to retrieve it. it gives us freedom to roam around without our carry on. . concerts- . recently we saw air supply which is inside silver legacy ball room which was small and compact to see an initmate show. for bigger concerts it is int he reno events center which is a lot bigger for the chinese concerts. it definitely can fit more people but not as big as a sports arena. . overall we come here to experience with the property and we are satisfy with the service. We love the surrounding which is easy to walk around and explore without a car. It is close to greyhound bus and amtrak train too if needed. Hope this review helps and thanks for reading. Have a yelptastic day!

Yelp
ViP services waa horrible. I used to be Diamond Plus member and lost my status for not playing for a while. Went to go ask if i can check in at the VIP. Thia lady Jazzy was not friendly at all and told her that ive lost my status this year. She was not accommodating at all and once you lose your status youll be treated like crap. No wonder Ceasars are losing customers. I would rather take my money somewhere else. Here they charge you resort fee now too. Soon parking. Soon Reno will become Las Vegas. Anyways Jazzy was not customer friendly at all she needa to treat customers with respect no matter what status they may have.

Yelp
Stayed for a few nights recently and was very happy! The room was clean and the furniture was updated and very comfortable. I stayed in room 3261 and had a decent view. The room was very quiet and the only noise I heard at all was the occasional siren. The only thing that was a bit irritating is that they will charge you $40 if you want to get your room before exactly 3 pm. Will no doubt come back for another visit!

Yelp
Decent room & accommodation. Accessible to food court's & gambling. Easy to transport to & from valet. Quick check in...clean room, only one little issue, our sink stopper was not working, it was broken? So technically any water we used that night in the sink just sat there. We called down to the front desk & informed them we didn't want to be charged for the issue & they were understanding..luckily we only needed the room for a few hours.

Yelp
This place is turned into a dump!! No valet parking, the elevators are total ghetto! You can tell it's like typical Vegas trash. Please take some pride in that facility it was the best in Reno at one time. Ever since Caesars purchased it all been downhill. You're not a valued person, just a number and how much money they can take from you. Miss the Carano Family. You were treated as family.

Yelp
This review is ONLY for the pool area. My family and I rented the Silver Legacy Cabanas for a couple hours and as seen in the pictures they consist of a wide comfortable bed with comfortable pillows. There was plenty of seating, so not renting out a cabana would have been fine. I don't recommend to rent out a cabana, the pool area is really small and not much going on where a cabana would be needed. We did not expect their pool to be only 3 feet which was highly disappointing. We spent no more than 30 minutes due to it starting to hail and thunder, but we most likely would have left after an hour anyways. Unless you have small children or just want to sit in the pool and jacuzzi, then this spot is for you.

Yelp
I've always like the Silver Legacy Casino!! I like how on the 2nd floor, the 3 Casinos are connected, Circus Circus, Silver Legacy, and the Eldorado. I've been here numerous times and it hasn't changed. Lots of Casinos in Downtown Reno have closed up for various reasons, but I'm glad this one survived. We walked through here, gambled a little but didn't win anything, and just kinda hung out for a while. I have a lot a great memories here, gotta come back and spend some time here!!

Yelp
Went here to see Gladys Knight. No Pips but backup singers helping out. Gladys poured out her heart in this venue, struggled some but she's 78 and still happy to be doing what she does!! Seats were comfortable and not too close together. Sections were not indicated and we sat in the wrong seats until the rightful seat owners came to claim them. Oops! Found someone to help us find our right seats. Same row but over a section so still pretty good seats and screens to watch the show also ( helpful when people stand up in front of you!) Drinks expensive, $10 for a glass of white wine but friendly bartender named Jairo assisted us. The Silver Legacy is linked with 2 other casinos so it's easy to get lost! We asked 3 people to help us find the valet parking which is located in the El Dorado, everyone was very helpful! Great evening and I can say I saw Gladys Knight!

Yelp
I don't understand all the bad reviews? I was just here last weekend and didn't have 1 problem with the hotel. The room was nice and the hotel is connect to three others so you really never have to leave. The Row has a host of restaurants to choose from and all the ones we ate at were good! Definitely my go to when staying in Reno! The check it was speedy and you're offered free water bottles and pretzels. All the staff we interacted with were very nice and helpful. The 24 hour cafe offers all kinds of food from pho to pasta to birria and was delicious. We had a great time at silver legacy!

Yelp
Food: 5 Affordability: 4 Customer Service: 0 Location/ Parking: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Visited this older Casino Hotel a few yrs ago, its located a few miles from airport in a great location. Lots of parking so no worries. Registration was long and of course customer service was rude. I advice all to use the machines they have to check in and out. I wont go into details how nasty the front desk acted toward us.... The manager made up for it by offering us a really nice hotel room above the pool area- city view. We appreciated the kind gesture. Rooms are really large and clean. We had no problems with our room and service the few days we stayed here. The casino is connected to Circus Circus and El Dorado, lot of dining and casino options if thats your jam. The food is really good and service from the bar was professional thru out the hotel. The pool area was clean and lots of seating areas. Keep in mind if you stay here, you will be in a great location, room prices are reasonable, but this is a older hotel with no updates. I found them on booking.com ~Dani

Yelp
So I'm giving this place 5 stars because they were so accommodating and nice to us. After being kicked out of the GSR at 9 pm at night, this place was a breath of fresh air. It was such an amazing atmosphere and very beautiful hotel I must say. The staff was so helpful and friendly I also give them 5 stars. They gave us the most beautiful room that had a view of Reno's snow covered mountain and it was just gorgeous. This was my birthday trip and I had such a good time I can't wait to go back. No complaints. My kids loved it also, everything is nearby, good food, Starbucks, gift shoppes, it was just such a great stay and I just want to thank you guys for taking such good care of us!!!! Thank you silver legacy !!! We will be back soon

Yelp
I've gone here since I was little. This was my common place to stay, to eat their prime rib buffet, hop next door to circus circus, and head to Tahoe to snowboard. It's a quick trip, 30-45 min to the ski resorts. If I gamble, this is my go-to. They have 1 cent machines and above. Right now, you could win a Tesla . The best part is that these casinos are owned by the famous wine makers. For example, their house, served in the floor is Ferrari-Carano fume blanc. Super pleased. They are connected to el dorado on one side and circus circus on the other and walking distance to great eateries and bars outside of the "mini strip".

Yelp
Was a guest for the Reno air show and was very impressed with just about everything about the stay. Hotel rooms were like new, casino was buzzing, and was overall very lively and pleasant. VIP Diamond check in very appreciated. Hotel rooms were in like new condition. Floors and bathroom looked incredible. Since we had two rooms I know it wasn't just luck either. I have a feeling quality increased ever since Caesers took over. Coffee makers in the room I thought was a nice touch - something that you find less and less these days. Casino was very happening. Many people and table game options and people winning. I think a lot of this had to do with the event going on - I never expected to see things so lively. Rooftop pool/hot tub with nice views especially in the evening. Gym is just across the hallway and includes cardio and free weights. The spa is also on the same floor so you will enjoy relaxing music and a zen like atmosphere on your way there. Signs will remind you to use 'inside voices' as you exit the pool. Buffet is closed and will get replaced with Gordon Ramsay. Thats the chef that yells in the kitchen on TV. Fine dining choices given Ruth's Chris is is also already there. Thats a crazy name come to think of it. "Ruth's." Lots of bars and places to get coffee. Everything is convenient and within short walks since the place was designed well. Diamond check in and automated check in also means no standing in line 30 minutes if you arrive at a popular time.

Yelp
I can't comment on the rooms or check-in process but if it's like a lot of aging properties it's probably more of a 3-star than 4 for the accommodations. Was there for a comedy show. Was a little confusing finding the end of the line to get into the show. There's actually a better side entrance down some escalators with probably very little line compared to the huge lineup for the escalators at the main entrance near the box office so hunt or ask around where the other entrance is and save yourself some time waiting in line. Drink prices were a bit lower than I expected. $16 for a double Titos. I've been to other places where a double is $19+ at a show. Good size theater. For a comedy show it pretty much doesn't matter where you sit. I liked they had a free covered parking garage as it was raining that night. It gets pretty full but you'll find plenty of spots once you hit the 7th or 8th floor as least in the Winter on a Saturday night this was the case. Seemed clean. Not very much smoke smell. And the big 4-story mining rig in the middle is pretty cool. This is the place to go for casinos in downtown.

Yelp
Had a three day, two night stay at the Silver Legacy and we opted for Deluxe Spa Suite Corner Room. The key here is the CORNER. If you're looking for a huge room, this is it. Panoramic views and a HUGE soaking tub in the living room. On an off-weekend and with some discounts, price was very reasonable. Room also had a bar area and was nicely renovated. Gaming wise - it was easily the nicest casino out of all of the ROW properties. Drink service was decent (with frequent rounds) but they are super stingy with drink tickets at the sports book. Even a $200 bet would only get 1 ticket. Also, I was very surprised at the table limits....$25 for roulette with $5 chips! Blackjack was $25/$50...on Sunday afternoon, they had some $10 roulette tables (with $1 chips) but for the most part, the limits were $25+. I haven't been to Reno in 7 years but I was expecting limits closer to the low-end Vegas casinos! Also Caesars took over, so they will take your Caesars Rewards cards if you gamble in Vegas or their other properties but that also means they now charge a $40 nightly resort fee to your hotel. Can't complain too much since it's an industry standard now. However, my biggest complaint would be the self-check in kiosks...I arrived around 11am and use the kiosk to check in. Didn't want to pay the extra money for "early check in" so I came back at 2pm (check in time) and according to the kiosk the room was still not ready. I ended up having to stand in line and do it the old fashioned way. They told me that the room had been ready for hours and that I should have been notified... Solid 4 star review! I definitely would pick Silver Legacy if I'm staying in the ROW.

Yelp
It's been a few decades since we last stayed in Reno. One thing that hasn't changed is the scent they pump into the hotel and casino. It brought me back to the first time we stayed here. The rooms have obviously been updated and look fabulous. We used the self check-in kiosk and had our room and keys before the line to see an actual human even moved. Love this feature and still not sure why more people don't use it. Parking was pretty simple, even with all the classic cars parked for HOT AUGUST NIGHTS. Our room was remarkable. Nice view. Comfy bed. Giant bath tub. Massive bathroom with walk-in shower. It really was just so nice. Housekeeping dropped off another robe to our room while we were out. Front desk gave us excellent recommendations for our anniversary dinner. Checkout was simple. Everything was great. We are so happy we chose SILVER LEGACY for our anniversary night.

Yelp
First surprised that it's in the Caesar family and the quality is not good they need to make some upgrades. The rooms are a bit outdated and some of the service is spotty one agent was nice enough to switch my too to get me out of that long line. The huge let down was the room elevator the line was so long it took nearly 30-40 minutes to get to your room then forget about going down you are fighting to get elevators to. Casino floor is very warm cluttered and congested. The cocktail ladies were rude and not too friendly. Flashback of why I prefer Vegas over Reno. This stay left a sour taste of Reno and unlikely coming back and if I do definitely not staying at SL or the hotels in the row.
