Intimate space for rock shows. A little upscale for the bands I’ve seen there, drinks are pricey. Staff/security is helpful and nice. Gets very hot 🥵 when the concert starts! Tip: there are more bathrooms through the lobby, door to the left of the stage.

I have been to this establishment before, but unfortunately my experience on Valentine’s Day was terrible. I made a reservation well in advance, back in January. We arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation time and were asked to wait at the bar, with the promise that we would be seated shortly. We ordered drinks at the bar and ended up standing there for about 30–40 minutes. I asked several times when we would be seated. Each time, I was asked for my name, and that was it. About 10 minutes later, I approached the host stand again and asked how much longer the wait would be. I was told we would be seated soon. In the end, we were seated about five minutes later — nearly an hour after we arrived. Once seated, we were not given menus and no one came to our table. We waited for about 20 minutes. By that point, we were hungry and ready to order. We waited a while longer for a server, but no one ever came to us, and we were ultimately forced to leave. It was a very unpleasant experience, especially on a holiday. I don’t think I will ever want to celebrate anything at this establishment again. I am extremely disappointed 😢

I called this venue three times prior to the show (02/20/26 - Jay Buchanan). Once to confirm if there was seating. They responded that it was all General Admission and that it would cost $500 plus a minimum on drinks/food for seating. The second time was for set times. Which I was told that the doors are at 8 but it’s going to be a late set, the artist would go on around 11. The third time I called, I asked for set times again, the day before the show, and they were just unsure. I get there for 10 and I am told the artist is nearly done. There was only seating unless you were at the bar or by the bathroom. Staff are unhelpful. Communication was extremely poor. Drinks wildly overpriced. The performance better be super worth it if you come here because I would avoid it if possible.

Great night out with our two (adult) kids and their partners for my daughters 21st birthday in NY. We booked at for start of entertainment at 9.45pm and stayed all the way through into the 2nd "set" with the full band. Tim Young was fantastic and band coming on at 11.30ish added another dimension. This is a full on experience with audience getting involved and recommending songs for Tim to sing. This bloke isn't shy (putting it mildly!!) but he's a great entertainer and he loves the ladies in the audience!! Not a cheap night but it's a superb one-off experience. My wife loved it as did our kids and their partners. One of the big highlights of our trip to NY. Eat before you go as food is a side thought. It's nice but expensive.

Go here if you want to starve for hours. You will have to ask someone for a menu and will be ignored throughout the night unless you get up and greet one of the waiters for a menu. Oh and let’s say you ask for ketchup or even a napkin, it won’t be high in the priority list so they’ll act like you never asked and not get it at all. Also, make sure you order everything at once. If you get drinks first you’ll have to wait another hour for appetizers, after the appetizers you’ll have to wait to see the waiter again in another hour if you get lucky, and don’t even bother asking for dessert unless you’re trying to be there until closing time. Oh and when you ask for the check you might as well have them charge you on the spot because they’ll disappear for another 1-2 hours. Good luck asking someone else for something, they will disappear like Jasper and you’ll never hear from them again. At some point my boyfriend was asking this waitress if we could order more food and she said “of course you can” and slowly started walking away. Safe to say I’ve gotten treated better at McDonald’s. I’d also like to add on Valentine’s Day they will charge you $200 in advance for reservation bc they know you will be guaranteed terrible service. Then they will act like they’re giving you a discount to compensate for the bad experience. Therefore, it’s not a discount more like a scam because you already paid $200 in advance…. LOL

I was so excited to try this place last night. I went with a friend for an event, and the entire experience was awful from start to finish. The bar gave out “free drink” vouchers - part of the event was 2 for 1 drinks. The bartenders had no idea how to make the system work and some people were given a first free drink, and some people were told they had to pay for the first one and come back for the 2nd one. The system made no sense. But even worse than that was the way we were treated by bartending staff. We waited patiently at the center of the bar to be served and watched for 23 minutes while every party around us was served. The bartenders wouldn’t even LOOK at us. It got to the point where we waited patiently at the bar and new patrons would walk up and be served and immediately greeted. It’s worth mentioning I was the only woman of color waiting at the bar. Instead of serving us, we watched bartenders drink their own drinks, turn the labels out on bottles, etc. It was pretty embarrassing to be so obviously ignored. Finally the male bartender rolled his eyes and asked us what we wanted. I ordered a jack and Diet Coke - he gave me a makers mark and Coke, and literally threw the drink at me across the bar, causing some of it to splash. The martini ordered by my friend was also not good. Overall, the staff in this place were horrible, genuinely unpleasant and discriminatory. I really wanted to like this place because the concept is cool, and the interior is nice, but I will NEVER go back, and I’ll recommend that every brown person I know stay away too. Disgusting.

Always a different band; love their cocktails. What a room and vibe! Get a table reservation on the weekends!

I heard good things, and wanted very much to have a great after hours anniversary cocktail and dessert with my boyfriend here. I made sure to make a reservation for 9 PM about a week in advance and I couldn’t stop talking about coming here. Unfortunately this turned out to be a waste of money and time for us on our special day. To simplify my experience please see the flags below. 🚩 hostess told us that they need the table back (even though we had a reservation and showed up early) but if we wanted the table for the whole night it’s $75/pp. We responded by saying we were only there to listen to a few songs and have a cocktail or two. She said no problem, and seated us 🚩 it’s a piano bar but no mention of “off nights” where there are random performers (which if fine, we weren’t picky, but would have been nice to know ahead of time) 🚩 waited nearly 2 hours for performance to start, resulting in 4 orders of overpriced, sugary drinks for $100 🚩 once performance started, people migrated from the bar to directly in front of the stage blocking any view, and resulting in the poor man next to me with a man’s buttocks in his face for most of the night 🚩 waitress forgot to enter our order, came back 15 minutes later saying “I forgot, did you need something?” What is the point of having a low light table that a reservation was required if you allow people who walk in to stand in front of the stage, blocking the view of people who did what is necessary to secure a table. Management did nothing, and didn’t even apologize for their staff forgetting the order. Overall disappointed with the drinks, the staff, the management and the entire facility. Do not recommend, will not return.

The male-to-female ratio is equal. If you do not have bottle service, prepare to wait a bit. That is my only quam. If I am leaving midtown to go that far I am making a few stops lol. Clean, respectable, security and hostess! Also this review is from Wednesday 2024.

Great Date night spot. Visited on a Friday night around 8:30pm. Had a reservation and was seated immediately. The ambiance is so nice inside, really chic and cozy. Ordered a bottle of wine while we listened to the singer and band play. We didn't have any food since we just came from dinner but the menu looked pretty good. The singer took request which made for a fun night. The crowd was lively so that also helped. Only 1 bathroom so the line was long at times.

First time visiting this romantic lounge. I came mostly for the showcase. Despite the reviews I didn't feel pretentious vibes. The menu is over priced with a hefty table reserve price I opt-out of. It's located next to the entrance of moxy and can easily be missed at night. I was suggested a table which I don't think includes the expensive food and drinks. I declined however they offered complimentary coat check which I used. If you have cash, tip coat check worker. The staff were nice all around. This venue is very dim, if need vision help, bring them. The decor is minimalistic and chic with a dim WC in the rear of lounge. The stage is small but the bands/artist performing managed and gave a spectacular show. Artist that performed; Breaker, Bec Lauder, and The Living Roomers. Listen to their catalogs on most streaming services. I can understand why this place can be pretentious. It's New York and not every business caters to everyone. That's ok, if this lounge is your vibe, visit. But be advised, the menu is sparse.

For the record: We were sat, but waited 25 min for ZERO service. Now, with that said, I am willing and excited to give this business ONE MORE chance. The vibe, on point! The drink options, so sad I wasn't able to grab a drink! And some food items, same as the drinks! Overall, my first experience, severely disappointing... One year later, I'm HOPING, I'll get served!

I came here on a Friday night. 11pm reservation. I got seated seat 12:30 am though. Granted it's a Friday night in NYC... you can have the table for up to two hours but it was way too loud and crowded if they were only taking reservations. It took away from the "classy" appeal. To accommodate our unexpected wait we were served a round of free cocktails. The wait was annoying but when you have as much patience as I do you ... you won't make a scene. When we finally sat... I was able to take in the performance. A guy sung a bunch of hits on the piano. Personally I just wanted to hear the piano and the piano only. The food was sub par. They had dark meat chicken tenders and the sushi was mid AF. The drinks were good though I can't lie. My favorite thing about this place was the design. (Please go early in the week)

I came here right after going to Sake No Hana for dinner as it's advertised that it's free entrance if you dine there first and then go here but what I didn't expect is for there not to be any tables available. My group of 4 did not have a place to sit and it was pretty crowded so it was tough to even get a drink at the bar and stand around. We were there for less than an hour and the music was okay , I expected an amazing show after reading all the great reviews but that wasn't the case . I've been to other live performances but this one wasn't engaging enough to want us to stay . I honestly wouldn't come back . It's a small and crowded space and the performance was not what I was expecting . We left for a more upbeat spot, this place was a little depressing .

We were in NYC celebrating our friends birthday and staying at the Moxy. The staff at the hotel are geat. Silver Lining on the other hand feels like a whole different world. The host vacate our group of 6 that just bought our round drinks...stating $95 tap per person if we wanted to sit so that a group of white patrons can sit there freely. Once we got up.. She literally followed us around with a reserved sign to make sure we didn't get to sit. We hear you loud and clear Asians are not welcome here. Thank you Tao group.

Very cool place, that had a killer three piece band, Indigo Mane. Worth checking it out.

Had a most marvelous time celebrating a good friend's US debut (Nina Brand of South Africa) at this wonderful venue. The vibe was electric, spearheaded by Tim Young on piano. Staff were attentive, and quick to deliver delicious cocktails! Will definitely be back with the wifey and friends, as this is a VERY fun spot to come and hang!

Very unpleasant staff, pretty bad food and unpleasant, pretentious atmosphere. Music is way too loud to hold a conversation. I really wouldn't recommend this place

Perfect romantic date spot! I came here on a Friday night for an 8:30pm reservation with my Fiancé and we had the best time. Music started at 9p and they give you a 90min table reservation but it was perfect for us since we had 30ish min to order our first round of drinks and talk a bit before the music started. The piano man was amazing and he was so funny and interactive and took song requests including my song request for Miley Cyrus flowers. He sang it beautifully! The drinks are on the pricier side around $23 but they were well made and the service and vibes were great. They also serve food as well (my fiancé ordered sushi). I also liked that we were able to grab another drink at the bar after our time was up. The only thing I could say that could have been better was that there was just one bathroom so there was quite a bit of a line at times.

I've had this place saved and after dinner one night we wanted to keep hanging out and we were close by. We walked in around 11 and were warmly greeted and offered a table. I didn't know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised to find live music. The instagram has pictures of people partying so we really thought this would be more of a lounge dancing vibe but instead there was a gentlemen playing the piano and singing and it was just fantastic. Though surprised we were happy with the outcome, not sure if they host parties or have dj's some nights and live music others but it was great. We had a couple of drinks each but no snacks or food because the kitchen closed by the time we got in. It was a true New York grown up vibes experience. I will most definitely be back.

Love the recent surge in piano bars and lounges that have been popping up throughout the city! The vibes and decor in Silver Lining Lounge were dim and cozy, perfect for date night. My date and I arrived for an 8pm reservation on a Wednesday night. Upon seating, our hostess informed us we only have 90 minutes and performances don't start until 9pm. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks and the king salmon pillows to munch on as we wait to catch a bit of the music. The drinks, while creative and sweet, were not very memorable. The king salmon pillows consisted of 5 small puff pastries bites topped with a sliver of king salmon and jalapeño - not worth the $28 price tag. The performance didn't start until 9:15pm so we were only able to enjoy 15 min of the music before we were rushed out with the check. While I would return with a later reservation to enjoy more of the music, I'm not eager to come back so soon.

Great little vibey spot in the LES! Saw all the hype via tiktok and made a reservation immediately. We visited on a Friday night (around 8pm) fairly early. It started getting lively and buzzing around 9. There was a pianist who was extremely talented but if I have to be honest the music choice wasn't great. It was super mellow and eventually we had to leave. I wouldn't hold it against them though because apparently there's a live band that comes on after. Drinks were great, typical NYC lounge cocktail prices and we even snacked on their almonds. Will return for sure but probably later in the night next time.

Silver Lining is a great restaurant for drinks and drinks only. Food was way too over priced for it to be basic with no flavor/seasoning. $75 for 6 oysters. Drinks were good. Triple cooked fries were a basket of fries NOT any different from fries at McDonald's. The singer was pretty good but it gave broadway performance the entire time. Great atmosphere and the couple sitting next to us where really nice to talk to.

Such a perfect place to spend a Friday night if you love to just sit, and listen to great live music. The setting is gorgeous. The menu is perfect and definitely keeps you from leaving for a bite. Absolutely loved the Katsu nuggets! If you try one thing make it the nuggs. We hung out for about 3 hours and our lovely waitress as well as the main hostess/floor manager took great care of us throughout the night. Soooo looking forward to coming back! And Tim Young is AMAZING!

Came here on New Year's Eve. Super small venue and very crowded. Staff is rude, bartenders were ruder. The live band that was playing was absolutely awful. The music and vibes only got better after the band left and the DJ took over after midnight. Also no diversity. If you ain't white, it ain't the right....place for you!

Space too tight. Dark, music by the piano was very low. Can hear people talking next to you. Hard to get bartender's attention. No seats so group of friends just stood around for a few minutes trying to get a drink but didn't happen so we left and went to another bar around. Inside is definitely new and fancy though

Wish I got here earlier.....caught an amazing set with incredible musicians going OFF. Was able to see the last 20 mins of them performing. Not sure what the cover is, they let me come in free because it was about to close.

Was not aware of the $20 charge per person until the bill arrived. Also, not jazz music... more of blues/cover songs. They covered Beatles and Dolly Parton. Drinks were also $23+. The space is very nice. Great vibe but not worth the price. If you're looking for real Jazz music, this is not the spot.

The Silver Lining Lounge was an INCREDIBLE venue for our party. We chose it for our wedding rehearsal dinner (~40 people) because of the swanky vibe, and we were SO HAPPY that we did, and our guests LOVED the place! First of all, I loved working with the pre-event manager Genna; she is totally professional but also super patient and kind, which is no small thing when you are stressed out and planning a thousand details for a wedding. I had a ton of questions and asks and she was fabulous. She got every single thing right, from seating to lighting to set up to timing of events. Secondly, our on-site event manager Chris was also phenomenal, and also completely professional and kind (seems to be the theme here). He made sure everything ran smoothly, that the staff kept the guests happy, and he checked in with me throughout the night to make sure that I had what I needed. We had the bbq station and sushi trays, and the food was a hit - particularly the specialty drinks, the jalapeno cornbread, the chicken, the sushi and the desserts. I would 100% recommend this venue.

Not Jazz music paid $45 for a Moscow mule they don't tell you about a $20 cover charge that get added to your bill automatically would not recommend.

If I could give this place a 0 stars I would. If you value your dignity, skip altogether. When you show up there, they tell you about the 90 min time limit for your reservation. Nowhere on any of the websites, not on open table nor their own website, do they mention this prior to the visit. Then literally ever 5 mins the most annoying manager starts coming around to you trying to get you out. The music is way too loud. The food is alright but absolutely nothing special. TAO must think they conquered the world to treat people with such disrespect. I think the concept is good but this place is just terribly offensive. Don't go!
