California Cheese Trail: How to Plan the Best Trip to Sonoma and Marin | Eater SF

"After stepping away from Cowgirl Creamery, Sue Conley purchased a farm and opened Silver Penny to reconnect visitors with California farming’s grassroots; she hosts retreats and seminars on ecological farming to bridge conflicts between agriculturists and environmentalists, and offers several casitas for overnight stays that include a walking tour of the farm, an introduction to the Sonoma/Marin food shed, and a welcome basket with coffee, wine, honey, and cheese." - Marisa Churchill

Our family - three generations - had a magical week staying at the Silver Penny. It is such a beautiful and special place. We woke up every morning to the Petaluma fog, drank coffee on the porch or in the sunroom, and cooked breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen. We ended the evenings with a glass of wine on the porch as the sun set. Our girls played hide and seek inside the house and outside on the gorgeous property. It is a perfect location to explore the Bay area….Redwoods, Napa and Sonoma wine country, San Francisco, Berkeley, downtown Sonoma Square, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, and on and on. The seven of us had more than enough space and loved spending the week all under one roof. Highly recommend bringing your family here for a very special week in beautiful Sonoma County!

Beautiful property and an awesome, central location to explore Sonoma. I was swimming in wine and cheese by the end of the trip :)
