"Sliver Spring Mining Co.’s tagline is “home of the original Maryland crab pretzel,” which means the restaurant takes the order more seriously than most. Its best-selling ballpark pretzel oozing with Silver Spring’s crab dip comes topped with cheddar and jack cheese before it’s baked in the oven. A second location sits in Bel Air, Maryland." - Tierney Plumb, Claudia Rosenbaum

We went to the restaurant for the first time, to celebrate our #8 anniversary. We were very pleased with the attention received. Thank you Dana!

I attend this location frequently but this is my first time trying it for restaurant week. Here are my thoughts: - The customer service from bartender Jason was phenomenal. He was our waiter while we sat at the booth in the bar area. He was fast, kind, extremely efficient, prepared, and attentive. I have no complaints. 5/5 for customer service. - My son’s ribs were filling and large but a bit pricey. The broccoli was a little mushy but definitely seasoned. The fries had a good crunch but was only warm (not hot). Overall his meal was about 3.8/5 - I ordered the fried pickles, stuff shrimp with broccoli, and bread pudding. I used to love their fried pickles but now I don’t. They changed the recipe and now serve them like a thin basket of fries. Previously, they were thick (like a spear) and served in a tall basket that stood up. The new formula and presentation used extremely thin, nearly shredded pickles. Again, the broccoli was mushy but seasoned. The stuffed shrimp was delicious but the portion was so small. It didn’t feel like I got my money’s worth for the restaurant deal. The bread pudding was really tasty but I wish I had ice cream to add to it. Anyway, I would rate that full meal as a 3.3/5 for portion and mushy veggies. - My spouse’s meal was the boom boom shrimp, pork chops with mash potatoes & coleslaw, and black bottom cheesecake. The boom boom shrimp was very good but we did ask for ranch dipping sauce on the side. The pork chops were amazingly juicy. They came with an apple sauce for dipping but I didn’t like the flavor combination. The coleslaw was decent. The black bottom cake was just ok. I’m glad it came with my meal because otherwise, I wouldn’t have ordered that dessert. Overall, this meal was a 4.2/5 strictly for the mash and porkchop. - Wings were a to go order for someone else. They said the wings were good but wish they had a little more ranch dipping sauce. 4/5

Customer service and atmosphere 10/10! Food 10/10! Ordered the SSMC crab pretzel, Raven margarita, and Crisfield burger. Margarita was flavorful and strong. Pretzel was very good and the crab was amazing. The burger was cooked to perfection, well seasoned and juicy! The crab/shrimp fusion sends the burger right over the top. Will be getting again.

Absolute great experience for all of us a group of 4 and I got the old bay wrapped chicken bacon and cheese and it was absolutely delicious. My coworker got the shrimp and crab cake and a steak and none of us had anything left it was that delicious and so filling.

Food was great service was not as good. but it was St. Patricks day. I am sure if less busy the service would have been better. The sour beef and dumplings was good and so was the crab cake and ribs.

If you are coming for food, i would recommend NOT to come here. The crab trio plate was 40 sum dollars, and the ribs were dry. The shrimp was tough and was inedible. The crab cake was average. This was completely overpriced for the quality of the food. The staff were great and the atmosphere was good but the food was terrible and overpriced. Thus was my experience here and will not be back
