Where To Eat & Drink In Eastlake - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Siam is a Thai restaurant that’s a perfect spot if you’ve procrastinated in planning a big group dinner. There are always open tables and everything on the menu is shareable, from the appetizer platter loaded with satays and spring rolls to the very excellent crab fried rice (the best thing here). And you’re in fantastic hands with any of the curries, which are thick, creamy, and taste great when ladled on top of the crab fried rice." - aimee rizzo

Google
The best Thai food I've had in a long time! Friendly service met with amazing food made for a wonderful experience. I really liked the Avocado curry and the Tom kha soup, although everything we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend this place, and I will be coming back many times.

Google
Amazing food and great portion sizes. Our whole group was very impressed, and we all plan to return soon. I especially loved the Kea Mao and Tom Kha.

Google
This is our new favorite Thai spot!! We stumbled upon it for the convenient location and were blown away at how good it was! We both got the lunch pad se le and it was packed with flavor. We couldn’t stop talking about how impressed we were. It’s also a more affordable spot, and with the cheap prices we figured it would be tiny portions but instead they were generous sizes and even came with mini egg rolls on the dish that were also delicious. To top it off - the food was ready super quick and the gentleman at the front was super friendly. 10/10

Google
The high rating is definitely merited! The server was very friendly and attentive. I got the panang curry and it was amazingly flavorful and delicious! They deserve all the success! I would be back in a heart beat!

Google
Overall a great local Thai place in the heart of Wallingford. We ordered the Pad Thai and orange chicken and would absolutely order both again. We had the crab delight appetizer and it was good, the middle was a little cold like it hadn’t been cooked for long enough after being in the freezer/fridge. The service was good, I wish the server wrote down our order as they mixed things up and had tried to remember it all which made for an awkward experience. Overall nice and would highly recommend for a date night

Google
I used to be a regular here, but the new female service staff has made the service noticeably rude and unfriendly. Plus, the pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao, which I always loved, have become too spicy even when ordered with ‘regular spice’. This has happened twice now, and it’s clear the quality has changed for the worse. I won’t ever be coming back.

Google
Was one of our favorite places, everything is solid and prices were solid - but they just suddenly increased all prices $2-$5 (25-40% hike) with no explanation. We're pretty bummed that we won't be ordering here as much going forward. Nice folks, wishing them the best of luck... =\

Google
This place is a good but not great Thai restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and very friendly service. The Massaman curry was a little burnt tasting and not that tasty, rice also isn’t included which is a little weird, it’s not that expensive (they charge extra for a serving of rice). The green curry fried rice on the other hand was awesome. Flavorful fried rice that wasn’t too greasy with delicious crispy basil leaves on top. I underestimated the crispy basil addition till I tried it, it was awesome!

Yelp
Seattle has a lot of great Thai restaurants, but Silver Tray appears to be something of a hidden gem. My partner and I love to try new Thai restaurants throughout the city, but Silver Tray continues to be our favorite. Not that we want more competition, but we think this place really deserves to be more popular! We'd give Silver Tray a 4.5 out of 5. We usually order a couple of dishes to share, like the Bangkok chicken, pad see ew with chicken, and papaya salad. The Bangkok chicken is one of their signature dishes - battered chicken covered in a flavorful special sauce that I haven't had anywhere else. The chicken is perhaps a tad too salty on its own, but pairs perfectly with white rice. The pad see ew and papaya salad are pretty standard dishes for Thai restaurants, but the pad see ew at Silver Tray has a slightly smoky flavor that elevates their version above others that I've tried. We also tried the mango & sweet sticky rice dessert for the first time during our last visit, and it was fantastic! The mango was perfectly fresh, the sticky rice had a wonderfully gooey sticky texture, and the condensed milk added just the right amount of sweetness. So be sure to leave room for dessert!

Yelp
If you're looking for a family run, homey, inexpensive and absolutely delicious Thai place, this is it! Each huge entree was only $11.25. We loved the Pad Thai with tofu and the Pad See Ew with chicken which was perfectly smoky and sweet). Their dessert special, lychee ice cream, also hit the spot - it was thick sticky deliciousness with flavors of sweetened condensed milk and little bits of lychee. The waitress was sweet and not afraid to laugh at herself. Be mindful that in the bathrooms in the back, there was a sign posted that they plan to increase their prices for the first time in more than a decade in order to stay afloat. With the quality of their food, it would be well deserved. Silver Tray will be my go-to Thai restaurant in Wallingford!

Yelp
First off, I will say that we got our food to go. It is always hard for me to do an accurate rating solely based on to go orders, but here we are. I had pad see ew with extra broccoli and it was good, but not the best I've ever had. My friend had the pad Thai and she said it was also pretty good. We were greeted by very friendly staff which is always nice. The restaurant itself is pretty small. I'm sure the food is much better when it is served hot and eaten immediately!

Yelp
Came here for some dinner after helping my move more of his things. Silver Tray is hard to miss, right on the intersection on 45th. Street parking only. Because it's street parking only, I noticed a lot of people doing take out so they can pull up really quickly and be on their way. To start we got the crab delight appetizer. I found them to be a bit too crispy. Not burnt, but a hard to bit into and not too much filling. It got better from here though - started with a Cha Manao - Thai Lime iced tea. very sweet and limey, a nice alternative to a standard Thai tea or lychee Thai tea. For food I got the SPN Kao Soi with chicken - crispy and cooked egg noodle with curry, mustard preserve and more. Very good, very filling, very tasty curry. Decent sized portioned bowl too but I had no problem finishing. The service was very friendly, we were welcomed in and checked on enough. They also have outdoor seating. Definitely a solid Thai spot as far as entrees go.
google avatar

Sarah E.

Yelp
I had the SPN.Kao Soi with Crab and it was so delicious and comforting. Service was quick and they are very friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
I have driven by this place so many times. Truly a whole in the wall & truly a gem. It was delicious. Completely satisfied my craving. Plus the staff was rad. Lam (I'm hopping I spelled that right) was cool, attentive, on top of their game, welcoming. Their energy alone set the vibe and I loved it. This just might be my new favorite neighborhood gem. They also have a little patio that's dog friendly for when you want to pop in on a walk around the neighborhood and they were so welcoming to my little fur babies. 5 stars....easy.
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
This is the closest Thai place and thus my new go to take out place! Maybe not my favorite in the city but it is GOOD. I've had multiple takeout orders and everything has been enjoyable and a good value. They are always quick and friendly on pick up!
google avatar

Chloe M.

Yelp
If I could have this thai food every day I would. This place is a 10/10. The staff is so friendly, the food is unbelievable, and the prices are great. ( and PORTIONS ARE HUGE ) Bangkok chicken is so good, very flavorful and it's the perfect type of crispy and I love that you can tailor your heat from 1-5 on any dish. One down side is that their level 4 isn't very spicy. So if you like spice beware of that! The garlic fried rice was sticky and the garlic in it was !!! Will be getting again ! Highly recommend! Also Thai iced tea was one of the best I've had before.

Isabella B.

Yelp
Our favorite Thai place in north Seattle. Amazing, fast service and fresh food. We love the panang curry and pad see ew, but there isn't anything on the menu we don't love. (And you won't find a better price anywhere else.) They have a small dining area but were able to accommodate eight of us for my partner's birthday. Even brought us a dessert. We will keep coming back!
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
We were walking around this area when we decided to stop here for dinner. We were seated pretty quickly and the service was great! I got the pad thai with no protein and mild spice for $11.95. This was the first time I got some spice with a mild pad thai but it was very mild and I enjoyed it. The waitress and staff were all very nice and quick with taking our orders and getting them out. Based on the outside, this place looks like it could be a hole in the wall restaurant but everything had good flavors and was cooked well. I would definitely come back again if I were in the area and would highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Excellent food and amazing value. Delicious and fresh every time. Responsive and friendly service.

Emeche W.

Yelp
Food is amazing and service is great. Ambiance is great too!! I got the Red curry with chicken and crab wontons

Mindy L.

Yelp
Tom yum was really good. The aromatics were fresh and brother flavorful. I like how many mushrooms they put in it but there wasnt any tomatoes. I like mine spicy so I got 4/5 stars which met my expectations. Price is pretty reasonable and portions not too big to match but it's okay because I understand its meant to be an appetizer. I previously tried the larb and yum woonsen which I thought were way better. I dont have any photos but the portions were big and super flavorful.

Claire W.

Yelp
We come here about once a week! At this point we've tried more than half the menu, and have never been disappointed! Truly a local gem that we love taking all our friends and family too. An added bonus is how nice the staff is-- 10/10!!!
google avatar

Alexander U.

Yelp
Best service EVER! I came here after school looking for a bite?! But then i got a seat, comfy seat. Also the black rice pudding is good!

Cassie T.

Yelp
We were staying in Seattle for several days on a recent family vacation and were looking for a place to have dinner on our final night in town. We found Silver Tray and I called ahead since some of the reviews said it was a smaller shop to make sure that they could accommodate our group of 8. The owner, Lucky, answered the phone and was so helpful and instantly ensured she could take care of our party. When we walked in we instantly saw the tables had been moved together for our group and were able to sit down. She constantly made adjustments to ensure the sun wasn't in our eyes as it was setting. The food was phenomenal - not a single person in our party was disappointed. Our family loves Thai food and each person was able to find some of their favorites on the menu. We shared some spring rolls and crab wontons for appetizers and I enjoyed the green curry with chicken. They were helpful in ensuring an appropriate spice level for each person. To top off an already exceptional experience, Lucky was incredibly helpful in making sure that a meaningful item was returned to us via mail when it was accidentally left behind. I assure you, this place won't disappoint and I cannot speak highly enough of Lucky and her team's hospitality!

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
The food here is excellent. Their staff is kind and helpful. Easy to find and located in a convenient area.
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
Cute small restaurant with authentic and delicious food. We got the ginger beef stir fry and the Panang curry. I think it was the best curry I've ever had!
google avatar

Jayne P.

Yelp
This place is GREAT. It's a small and non flashy establishment. The menu is large, and the prices are super reasonable for Seattle and the amount of food you get. Not to mention, the food is delicious! Our service was excellent too! I wish this was closer to my home, but it still might become my go to Thai place!
google avatar

Michelle F.

Yelp
Exceeded my expectations. I have walked by this place many times and I am glad I finally found my way in. I ordered pad Thai, orange chicken and red curry. The pad Thai wasn't overly saturated in sauce, but still had a nice flavor. The portion sizes were large, all lasted me more than 3 meals. The orange chicken was a little more crispy than I would have liked, but still was very good.

Bill B.

Yelp
Tried this place after walking past it many times and very glad we did! Excellent Pad Ke Mao and Pad Se Ewe served with crisp and tasty spring rolls. 4 stars was very hot - will try 3 next time. Very reasonable prices and very welcoming. Service was excellent! Cozy not fancy.
google avatar

Travis H.

Yelp
Service was fast and friendly. I asked for 4* and I got it. Now as for my order the must have ran out because my dish of red curry was very small and had limited liquid in it only 3 tablespoons worth. Which is very disappointing as I prefer to have some sauce in my dish almost like a soup but that was not this dish. Very cheap when it came to using chicken hardly any chicken in the cup. I will likely not be back as the owner is too cheap to keep their customers.

Lawrence L.

Yelp
Food is really good, service is really good, very quick on takeout / pickup, and if you're within a certain range of the restaurant, the delivery fee is only $2.00, which is basically unheard of in this day and age. The food is well priced and they do not skimp on anything, all the portions are very generous.
google avatar

Robyn B.

Yelp
Silver Tray is so good! I love their green curry and Tom kha soup, but everything I've tried has been delicious. It's a cute spot, good for date night (and you can hit up Murphy's across the street for a night cap after!). Friendly service too.
google avatar

B M L.

Yelp
I've had a lot of Thai food and this place has the best pad Thai I've ever had. It's a cute and cozy family-owned restaurant. The owners of the restaurant are so lovely and accommodating. This is definitely a favorite and a restaurant I will always come back to

Russell H.

Yelp
Every time I come here the place is empty. I don't understand, it is the best Thai food I found anywhere around here. Fast and friendly service in the great neighborhood of Wallingford.
google avatar

Ruby D.

Yelp
Hidden gem! I got duck curry and crab fried rice take out. The crab was plentiful and duck meat juicy. Their estimate was 20' and the food was still warm 1 hour after I picked them up. They had no customer at 7:30pm on a Thursday and I think they deserve much more love.
google avatar

Abhinav S.

Yelp
Went to see the woodland park zoo for their lights with some friends. After all that walking and cold weather we were hungry. This place is like 5 min from the zoo. You can find street parking on 44th or 45th. Ordered the Thai iced tea, was pretty good. Was Thai icey as expected. The green curry fried rice was kind of disappointing. It literally felt like they took some of their green curry, poured it on top of white rice, heated it up and served me. Didn't feel like a true fried rice. Fried rice needs to have a certain texture. This was my only qualm. Rest of the things were fine. I suppose other things on the menu might be worth trying, so I may come back another time.

Yelp
Like a mini-time machine back to Seattle 1986, the Silver Tray offers up classic Thai dishes from an era when Thai food was still a novelty in Seattle. This has got to be one of Wallingford's best budget restaurants. Angel Wings, Phad See-Iew with beef, Crab Fried Rice, and "extra-" Avocado Curry with Chicken were the four dishes that my partner and I shared one evening. The flavors were distinct and delicious, and the portions copious. Although we were the only diners seated in the restaurant throughout the meal, we weren't the only customers, not by a long shot. There was constantly a steady stream of folks coming in to claim carry-out orders. Many of these people were obviously regulars, and some of their orders were huge. One guy had two bags laden with 8 dishes! The dining room's interior is clean and cozy, and the huge windows are great for people watching. The staff was friendly; they seemed genuinely happy to be at their work. Even though it was clearly all about to-go orders on that rainy night, the service that we received was still courteous and efficient. What a nice experience this turned out to be. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to the Silver Tray. Maybe I will even order some carry-out items, too!
google avatar

Nicole F.

Yelp
We've tried all the Thai spots up and down Wallingford/Green Lake and this one is our consistent favorite. We usually take our food to go but decided today to eat in their new outdoor patio space which is perfectly shaded! We've had most of their noodle dishes and always get the crab wontons because I promise you they are the best around!! Their Pad Thai is also awesome but today we got the Kee Mao and Khao Soi and it was even better in person!! The service is amazing. And the people there are just so kind! I seriously recommend you give it a shot- I promise you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Julia G.

Yelp
Tasty food! Not too oily. Vegan options. Customer service was excellent. This is one of the best Thai spots in Seattle!

Yelp
Stopped in here last weekday for a quick dinner. We have grabbed the sampler platter to go before but hadn't tried anything else. This time we dined in and it was pretty good! We ordered: - sampler (fried tofu, eggs rolls, gyoza, and cream cheese wontons) - Panang Curry - Khao Soi - side of rice So let's start with the app sampler, I didn't really like the dipping sauces it comes with, the sweet & sour is more of a plum sauce, and the gyoza dip is kinda salty. The gyoza was also my least favorite, the skin is kinda thick. I enjoyed the other 3 things though! Cody ordered the Khao Soi off their special menu and I so wish I had ordered that over the curry! Also kinda annoying rice come separate from the curry. I mean, do people normally eat curry by itself with no rice? The Khao Soi was spot on though, I enjoyed the flavors. Hopefully they have it on their specials menu pretty regularly! Decent prices here!

Morgan F.

Yelp
The food was so delicious!!!! Got the Pad Thai with Chicken and Curry Dumplings, my partner and I split them and it was plenty. We got medium spice and it was so yummy. The waitress / woman in charge is so lovely! 10/10 recommend
google avatar

Erik S.

Yelp
Love this place! The flavors are always great. The firecracker prawns and crab delight are great starters. Crab Delight is a good ratio of crab to cream cheese to pastry. The Avocado Green Curry is my favorite! Such good flavor. The Bangkok Chicken and Phad Thai are on point. Hot And Spicy Duck is excellent as well- love to find Duck on the menu! I'm usually in the neighborhood and will always wave and chat when I see staff outside. Love having them on the corner!

Tianna C.

Yelp
Sweet workers, delicious food!! Can get a bit cold inside restaurant when dining in during the colder months. Affordable prices!

Daniel C.

Yelp
This place has kept going downhill, which has been sad to see as I live locally and love going to out restaurants along 45th. I keep going back hoping the next time will be different, but then just get disappointed in some other way. Last time I ordered pineapple duck curry... or more accurately mixed vegetable curry garnished with two small bites of duck. That's right. Two single bites. And that's for a quart sized to-go container of curry. It should have been called grape and tomato curry as that's what there was the most of. The taste was distinctly too sweet, beyond that solidly mediocre. The pot stickers were cooked well but so profoundly tasteless, like they forgot all spices and no salt. The pot sticker dipping sauce was plain nasty - tasted like watered down molasses with salt mixed in. Sad to say I'm done giving this place second chances.

Yelp
I am sooooo happy to see fresh (and awake) faces in this space! I noticed that Lotus closed a couple of months ago, and was happy to hear that a new couple was taking over the restaurant space and changing things up a bit. I do miss the seafood salad that was my main/only reason for visiting Lotus, but I don't miss anything else!! (I mostly mention this because I want them to re-create the salad...) The space looks clean and people seem to finally be eating at the restaurant. I have not seen that in a long time!! I recently stopped by for lunch and got the very tasty (see picture) beef salad. Definitely recommend it! I haven't ordered anything else yet, but am happy with the experience I've had so far.
google avatar

Claire Q.

Yelp
My all time favorite Thai place in Seattle. If I'm craving pad see ew (which I frequently am), Silver Tray is the only place that consistently satisfies. The noodles here consistently have "wok hei" -- the savory, slightly charred flavors that make wok stirred noodles so craveable. My partner and I also love the khao soi here -- it's so creamy and rich, and has strong flavors that satisfy!

Taylor V.

Yelp
I live about three blocks away from silver tray, my entire life this little family restaurant has been one of my favorite places to eat at. and we continue to get takeout all the time after years of amazing dining all to silver tray. The woman running this place is one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met, she has remade meals for us for free because my brother has dropped them on the bike home, she's added cute little sides to my lunch meals, and always greets you with the biggest smile. We aren't close, I don't even know her name, yet I am always treated with overwhelming amount of kindness. Silver tray truly is a hidden gem. Phenomenal food for the cost prepared in an authentic little place on the a busy corner. You definitely have to try this place out if you haven't!
google avatar

Satpreet K.

Yelp
I just wanted to come back and say how much I still love this restaurant, the food, and the people who run it. My partner and I moved to the South End a few years ago, and even though there are so many great Thai food places in Seattle, we still will bike or drive to Silver Tray whenever we can. It's a place where we can count on reliably good food at a decent price with really nice service. The owner is so wonderful. She tends to work front of house and remembers so many regulars, is so communicative about food allergies, and is just a kind, generous person. Looking through the reviews, it looks like a lot of the mediocre ones are about the takeout. I've never gotten Silver Tray as takeout, so I can't really speak to that, but if you have a chance to go here, I would definitely encourage the dine-in experience - both for the food and the friendly faces.
google avatar

Arie L.

Yelp
Really thought this was going to be an amazing Thai food establishment, and it failed to match the reviews. As soon as we got in the door, we were asked to go or sitting down, and she was annoyed with sit down. I literally walked in starving, and had to "to go" my food because I did not like the service and the food was not too good. There was a group of Caucasian people in the restaurant and we ( my cousin and I) were the only two parties in this restaurant. We weren't ever asked anything, or treated nicely as the other group. So I don't like being treated like second class citizens, definitely not the best service. I ordered the pad kee mao, and it was horribly made. Clumps of noodles, not a good assortment of veggies with chicken. Presentation Just looked terrible. And did not taste too good. Had it to go. And she gives me a clear plastic bpa container vs a paper one. Thanks, I'm definitely never coming back.
google avatar

Ben M.

Yelp
Good ass Thai if ur in wallingford for some reason. I hit it bc it's close and massaman curry is fire. Two meals in one I get fuggin filllllllled
google avatar

Kate B.

Yelp
This used to be one of my favorite places, but, unfortunately, the last time, the food made me sick. I don't play around with that. Even still in the restaurant, I could tell there was something wrong with the chicken. it didn't taste right... It took 3 days to make it out of my system, painfully... To be really honest, any place that actually gets you sick should be 1 star. :( so sad to lose a favorite
google avatar

Dana C.

Yelp
Really good food and incredible customer service that goes above and beyond! This will be my new go-to Thai spot.
google avatar

Hayley P.

Yelp
If you're looking for great and cheap(er) Thai food, this is your place. I ordered the Chicken Satay and Crab Delight. The chicken satay came with 5 skewers and a delicious peanut sauce. The crab delight (basically crab rangoon) was served piping hot and delicious in the plum dipping sauce. I'm happy to get great portion sizes that were all delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Kao Soi with pork. The noodles were delicious and the pork cooked well and full of flavor. The service was good and we will definitely be back if we are craving Thai!
google avatar

Lauren K.

Yelp
We have passed by silver tray so many times that it has become background noise in the neighborhood scenery. We decided to give it a try after seeing promising yelp reviews. They aren't on usual food delivery apps, so we tentatively called the restaurant directly. The customer service experience I received on that phone call was out of this world. The owner answered my phone call directly, and took our order. She is so friendly and made sure she had the order exactly right. She made us aware of al prices up front, and was funny! We waited for the food to arrive, and the delivery time was actually pretty quick - 25 or so minutes! The food itself? Delicious. I would rank it as some of the best Thai cuisine I've had in Seattle, and it even compares to the Thai I've had in bigger cities. We will definitely be eating here again.
google avatar

Harnoor K.

Yelp
I love Silver Tray Thai! The lunch specials have generous portion sizes and the food is delicious. I come here at least once a week, either during my lunch break or for dinner with friends. The service is excellent and it is hands down my favorite Thai place in Seattle.

Yelp
Basil chicken wings were so amazingly delicious even better than Pok Pok in Portland. They were very favorable and I highly recommended. Mieng Kum was also unique in taste and very healthy if you're looking for a light food. The dish came with dried shrimp, dried coconut, chopped ginger, peanuts, chopped onion, tiny lime sliced and spinach leaves with very favorable sauce. The owner and their staffs were very friendly with superb service. Overall everything was excellent and I would definitely go back again.
