The Liveliest LGBTQ Bars and Clubs in Portland

"This nightclub and legendary strip club is divided into two decidedly different spaces. The downstairs room is Portland’s most underground setting... literally. The basement is where the bar gets its reputation: Hunky male dancers entertain visitors in private booths nightly. The upstairs room is a much more casual hang, featuring karaoke, a video bar, pool tables, and a kitchen serving chili queso fries and fish and chips." - Thom Hilton, Eater Staff

Was a great night and fun time with friends! The host was great, she bought us jello shots to start the night and was very welcoming and kind. The dancers were good drinks were great. We had a great time!

I was at Silverado twice. Sunday night I noticed that there was a dancer who I was not attracted to and who I thought danced badly. But, preferences are preferences and while he was not my cup of tea, I'm sure somebody appreciates his style and approach to work at Silverado. This dancer was there Monday evening - at the time I was there, there were very few customers downstairs. Max 4 customers, probably two. This dancer decided to accuse me of taking photos and yelled at me across the room. Clearly this was not the dancers first time of doing this because the bartender was entirely sympathetic to me and apologized and I left. Too bad because there were several hot dancers. But the vibe was, for me, over. Next time I'm in PDX, I'll return to Silverado. It's awesome. Except for that one "dancer."

Google
The security at the front door took my ID and refused to give it back to me when I asked for it. Had to tell him 3 times to give it back to me. I dont know what kind of shady stuff they have going on. I realize they prob pay next to nothing for security, but you are not stealing my ID. A reason a line 2 blocks long down the sidewalk in front of badlands, with no line here. Silverado won't be around like like this. Security treated me like I was skip out on paying my cover. Im not a damn criminal. No need to treat me like one

Google
Bartender was friendly, quick, and the drink was strong. Can't complain. Biggest downside is that the bar is cash only, but there is an ATM inside. I was there early enough in the day that the downstairs wasn't open yet, can't speak for how it is down there.

After moving back to the PDX area from living in the eastern part of the USA, I had to Google up Silverado as it wasn't at it's original location and I saw that it has moved to it's current location on 6th Ave. I ordered a beer here and was informed that it's CASH only. To my dismay and not having any cash on me using my phone to pay for everything, it is the year 2025. I had to walk some two blocks away to the US Bank to get cash from the ATM. This is my only complaint and the bartender was kind and provided good service, too.

Google
I have been a customer at every incarnation of this bar and love this newest one in NW. I just moved back to town and enjoyed ray or rains dancing very much he was amazing we chatted a bit upstairs and he was great. However, Van might be my new favorite bartender maybe even person in Portland.. we had the best conversation on a slow Wednesday night.. such an amazing human.. I’m glad this bar has survived and still continues to have great employees ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I had fun for my first time in a male strip club. They were so sweet and fun. I just wish i had more $ when I came in wtf friends unexpectedly. 5☆

Google
I've been a few times. The atmosphere is a little seedy, but it's a strip club, I don't think there's any getting away from that. Drinks are okay and stiff enough in my book. The performers have all been darlings in my limited experience, very courteous and friendly. Tip those boys well, they work hard for it!

Yelp
This is a great place to come to. It has an upstairs area where you can chill with friends and a downstairs area where the dancing takes place. The drinks are priced well and the atmosphere is great. I love it when Peter is dancing. He has a unique way of moving that makes him fun to watch. He's also very friendly, easy to talk to, and not pushy at all. And let's not forget cute as well

Bowman S.

Yelp
I'm a middled aged (maintained) gay man, not high maintenance and been patronizing the Silverado since they were on Stark Street. I have no issues with the bar staff. They're friendly, hardworking and easy on the eyes. However based on the last few visits, that's where anything positive ends. Place seems always dead; even Friday nights? The upstairs is waisted space, not interesting or fun. It's stupid they don't put a stage or video feeds up there to support the dancers, generate additional revenue and have something to look at. Downstairs music sucks 80% of the time. Weak air-conditioning makes it uncomfortably hot. The dark lacquered floor was a mistake. Looks like there's standing water everywhere. I come to a gay stripper bar to see men that look like men. I have no issues with the trans community but don't want to see topless constructed boobs in this environment either...

William B.

Yelp
Niko and Peter are definitely two of the many reasons to visit this bar... Niko is physically perfect, great smile, great moves, and great Peter is amazing in all ways possible. Perfect little body, great flirtatious grin, dance moves that are almost acrobatic. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I've never been to a strip club and I didn't realize that this was an actual strip club for my people lol. I met a very nice young man who "took a liking to me," which made me feel off because I always make fun of straight guys who fall for strippers giving them attention and genuinely thinking that the stripper/dancer is into them but I really wanted to talk to him because I found him to be super interesting - I swear that was it. I wanted to know his story, how he fell into his profession, and asked if he were passionate about his work. I probably won't return because it's cash only and they don't do a good job of letting patrons know that. I'm from Long Beach, CA, where for the most part, the gay bars are cash only but you'll see plenty of signs making that fact very clear for non regulars. I find cash only bars to be very unfriendly and annoying to consumers already but I get even more annoyed when there isn't fair warning.

Yelp
The Dancers and staff are great at Silverado! I always have an amazing time there! I highly recommend to go to Silverado to have an amazing time!

Yelp
I lived downtown in Portland, Oregon in the early 2000s. I didn't go to many of the strip clubs in the downtown core until I moved into another neighborhood. I don't like the music at some of the strip clubs. The only strip club that I do like the music (that is in downtown) in is Silverado. I would go more often to the strip club... but too many of my friends are working during the times that I want to go to Silverado. I was told that the drinks are good. I didn't drink anything. I was told that there wasn't any problem bringing my friends who aren't straight. The alphabet mafia is welcome. There was a man that I was interested in in 2004. He rides his bicycle there. I was told I could order any drink I wanted and that the male strippers would be there until 2:30 AM. I told the bartender about the tourists that had asked me where the strip clubs were when I was on the MAX. I tipped the male stripper and told him that I liked his clothes. He winked at me. I told him... he could buy his groceries where I worked if he wanted to. He's a good person. I don't think he knew about the sales before I told him. And no,... I didn't have to spew on that afternoon. The sewer smell is disgusting in the downtown core.

Yelp
Great vibe at this club, especially when Peter is dancing! Best late night food served by Francisco in the kitchen. Be sure to ask for a burrito even though it's not on the official menu
google avatar

Yelp
Franciscos is great mexi food, pool table and karaoke and lottery. Even if you dont do the strippers lots of fun

Yelp
This is by far my favorite gay bar in Portland. My girlfriend and I come here for the environment. ( we're both gay by the way) and yet we are always welcome here with open arms. The guys are so nice, inviting and always checking up making sure we're having a great time. 10/10 would recommend no matter who you are, you are always welcome here!
google avatar

Yelp
The dance I got was a dance out of paradise! The dancers are more polite than a newborn baby! Right when you walk in that door you feel welcomed! This place is non-discriminatory my favorite dancer at the club is Drake! He does whatever it takes to make you happy! Right before I went downstairs I bought him a Drink and we bonded. When he gave me my private dance I even made joke that he found funny. I'm gonna probably go there every week just for him! The bar on the main level is very welcoming! It's a very fun place to go to hang out. With the music blasting downstairs in the basement and the very nice dancers that go out of their way to make you happy. Drake deserves a big bonus. There is not enough stars on this review platform. If I was to rate my experience it would be 50 stars and it's Drake that made my whole night. I hope he see's this review so he can see just how good he is at his job.

Yelp
What a fun bar. Drink pours were heavy, and there's slot machines on the first floor along with TVs playing sports and a cafe which has bar food and a few Mexican options. Downstairs opened up and the gogo dancers started doing their thing on the pole area that's fenced off by seating/table arrangements around the perimeter for a closer show. The men were hit or miss, but whether or not you were "into" them, they were all entertaining to watch in their element. Good spot to come with friends and I've never really seen a gay strip bar like it (they're an endangered species). I'd def be back!

BeJay T.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for a little while now but every time I go I have a great time chatting with Mr. Peter, he is one of the sweetest performers there, as well as good looking an charm, can't wait to go back!!!!
google avatar

Cory B.

Yelp
Great new location and easier to get too. Bartenders are nice fun and professional. Enjoyed seeing how they try to always make sure there's room for others to get to the bar and order drinks while at other locations often times it's so crowded getting drinks can be dreadful. Drinks here are poured well so you definitely get your monies worth. On the main floor you can relax talking with friends with an outdoor seating option or you can go downstairs for entertainment, music and dancers :-) Definitely a place to visit and remember at any club taking photos of dancers is normally not allowed while on stage.

Garrett L.

Yelp
Very greedy management. The dancers are actually told not to give out their numbers or else they face immediate termination. Obviously, they want the customers to keep returning to drink their lousy beer & pay for those seedy "private shows" which are a serious public health hazard.
google avatar

Nathan M.

Yelp
STAY AWAY! We came to spend a ton of money on drinks and enjoy the entertainment tonight, but the very rude and harassing security guy yelled abusive obscenities and kicked us out when we simply asked why they don't take cards for payment. Seriously -- it's 2019! Quit being so cheap and get a freakin credit card machine and fire your rude staff!
google avatar

Peter T.

Yelp
Great service and ambience. Bartenders make good and strong drinks. Parking is a little sketch there but once inside it's a great vibe and chill. Two levels with full bars in each section. Dancers were friendly and cute.

James M.

Yelp
I always head to Silverado when visiting Portland. The new location (well, no that new!) in The Pearl is a great venue. The upstairs has a bar and small restaurant quick food. Downstairs is where the dancers dance and also has a bar. The dancers are always so friendly and not pushy at all, but offer private dances or just simply tip and enjoy your favorite dancer when they are doing their sets. There is a variety of guys for all tastes. The crowd at this bar/club always seems so friendly and has a good time. It's not at all sleazy or stuffy, which I really like. It is easy to talk to other patrons. Check it out and if you don't have any 1's, don't worry, the bartender will get you small bills for tipping! Tip your dancers!!
google avatar

Lori S.

Yelp
What's not to love? Dive bar! Cute dancers! Men certainly have it good because they sure don't do the stunts and acrobatics that women have to, but then again, maybe they have stunt night. Haha! Hubby and I had a blast. Hung out for a few hours and made new friends. We would definitely go again for a change up in entertainment. Hubby even tipped a dancer. Update: Gay pride week, again!!! A lot more dancers on the floor this trip... and a LOT more pole-climbing.... pun intended. Anyhow... strong drinks and fun crowd.

Yelp
Visiting for vacation for the weekend. I wanted to try visiting Silverado since the last time I was here, it was in the old location, and I went early in the day. Went in around 10pm, paid the $4 cover for each person in our group. ($12) The security person was very kind and gave us a run down of their rules and expectations. We found a table upstairs, then realized something was going on downstairs. I went over to the bar and asked the bartender to tell me about the place and asked what was going on down there. He was very sweet, and shared about their events. He told me to go downstairs to see the dancers and that we could come up and down as much as we wanted. We went downstairs. I loved the layout of the club space. However, it is very tight down there. (No pun intended.) There is very limited seating so we stood around for most of the short time we were there. We never got a good view of the dancers. The beers costed $4.75 each, which compared to the beer prices at Stag, were more affordable. We chugged our beers and promptly left to head over to Stag. In my opinion, Stag is the place to be even though the beers are $6.00 each. We enjoyed ourselves much more at stag, even with the $5 cover each.

Yelp
I'm a fan of this place. The bartender who happens to be from Phoenix was very nice. The host that works there was also very entertaining. He had shaved head, wore this wife beater shirt and funky white glasses. He totally made us laugh the entire time we were there. He was such a hoot! They have strippers at night, and the beers are freaking cheap! They also have free WI-FI which is always a big plus. The only reason I'm giving them one less star is because of the restrooms. My friend needed to drop a piping hot loaf into the commode, but he couldn't because the toilets don't have locks. He was not amused!
google avatar

Sara R.

Yelp
I have no words. I have never seen so much ass/balls/boiz. This place was definitely an experience. The strippers are super pushy to give you a lap dance but also friendly at the same time. You're not allowed to scream which I find to be really weird. Maybe they just got sick of all the drunk ladies at Bachelorette parties (such as myself) and their ear-piercing screams? Either way, pretty strange. Definitely an experience of a lifetime and worth it if you don't blush very easily.

Yelp
Portland has grown up and now has two male strip clubs. Now that Stag has taken the reigns as the cool place to hang out, Silverado has had to somewhat redefine who they are as well. Spoiler alert: what they are is DIRTY! I like to say that if you wanna hang out at a bar that has some strippers, you go to Stag. If you wanna hang out at a "Strip Club", you go to Silverado. The dancers are sexier, more aggressive, and wayyyyy less shy. You don't go here for the social scene. You go here so that some guy in a jock can gyrate in your face. I feel a lot dirtier after a trip to Silverado, but for some of you, that might be the exact feeling you're going for. Still cash only, which is rather maddening and (in my opinion) highly suspect.

Yelp
I stopped by this place when I was vacationing in Portland over Memorial Day weekend. It had everything I love about gay bars: beautiful boys, cheap drinks, good music. One thing, it's cash only for everything. I brought some cash, not a lot but enough to get around. I wanted to tip the dancers, but ended up giving most of it to the bartender for my drinks. I left after ten minutes. I wanted to stay longer, but I ran out of cash. If only the bartender would've accepted my credit card instead of my money.... Sorry boys, all the money I brought for you I had to give to the bar instead. What a shame...
google avatar

Carl F.

Yelp
I'm in love with a stripper... Jk. Not at all. I spent most of the my time here making a puzzled 'doing-math-in-my-head' face while trying to figure out if it were physically possible for me to be the mother of any of these boys. Emphasis on the use of the word, 'boys', because boy are they young. We came in on a Monday evening, which is apparently amateur night, though more than a few of them seemed at least a little professional when it came to open-air gyrating. There was no cover and almost a week later I still have remnants of the 'Party On' stamp given to me by the bouncer on my hand. When we first walked in I was surprised because I thought this would be a full-on strip club, but it was pretty empty and there were zero naked or dancing people so I'd say it's more of a dive bar with a single, scantily clad male bartender. Drinks are cheap AF and service was pretty damn wonderful considering I'm a girl and basically invisible here. It took at least a good half hour before we saw anyone n their skivvies and dancing and when it the amateur show started it was a bit of a mess. You can't yell or make noise, just look and give dollars in support, which I guess is a pretty civil way of doing things but it sucks a little bit of the fun out of it. There's no announcer or anything- the boys just line up on stage and then scatter amongst the bar while one dances on stage and another dances on this little platform in the back. I expected the whole experience to be a little more exciting than it was but the drinks were all like $4 and under with $1 jello shots (because of course) and for strictly scientific purposes, I did find it interesting, but it didn't do anything for me overall other than give me a good, hearty buzz from the cheap, strong beer.
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
We thought we knew what we were in for when discussing coming here for amateur night, but in the same breath, we had absolutely no idea what we were in for when it came to amateur night. It could either be completely amazing in the best possible way, or it could be completely amazing in the worst possible way. Either way, we wanted to investigate. After dinner we pulled together a group, took a quick ten minute walk and let the adventure begin. There was no cover at the door on Monday and we were instructed that "the show starts at 10:00. No hootin', hollerin' or whistlin'." Deal. At the stroke of 10:00 the train wreck kicked into gear and the stage was graced with rock hard abs and chiseled cheek bones. The highlight would have to be a particular entertainer that we dubbed "Matt Damon" and danced a bit like a baby giraffe straight out of the womb and learning to walk - wobbly and uncomfortable on it's feet. Verdict: completely amazing in the worst possible way. Well drinks rang in at $4.00 each and they have Jello shots for a buck a piece. We lasted an about an hour, got our chuckles and were on our way. Well, check that one off my bucket list!

Andrew D.

Yelp
I love this place and wish I could say it was great but almost got kicked out for not having a mask on while Drinking a drink. Signs say you can have ur mask off while drinking but apparently that isn't true. After COVID it will be great but not a good place to go if you also plan to drink.

Yelp
'Ding Dong'. Nope, that's not the doorbell. It is a literal ding dong. Here's a brief, "The More You Know Moment"... Portland has the most strip bars per capita than any other U.S. city. This doesn't necessarily mean nude girls all over, because the fellas like to get in on that single dollar swinging action as well. Now that you know this city is filled with multiple greased up metal poles, lets start the fun. A huge group of us came here because a little birdy told us it was amateur night. I mean, who doesn't want to see a bunch of clumsy Under Armour clad fellas stumbling all over the stage. We came, we saw, and it was super fun at Silverado. Along with the lack of inhibition here, was also the lack of cost. They were charging four dollars for vodka sodas and a dollar for strong jello shots. The more booze the better when you're in unfamiliar territory. This place is not for the faint of heart or the close minded. This is a venue of freedom and the right to show your butt cheeks at all times. I give it up to brave souls who ventured on stage that night and I hope they didn't take our delightful snickering to seriously.

Yelp
Fact: My first trip to Silverado involved a dancer biting my ear, trying to get my phone number and me being a bit horrified in general. I was a bit sheltered back then. Now that I'm all grow'd up, I don't mind the occasional visit to Silverado's or as the regulars call it "Church". The dancers are hot with a capital H, the drinks are cheap and the crowd is usually quite fun and friendly. It's definitely not for the shy or squeamish (see: ear bite) because the bathrooms are male oriented with minimal privacy for us ladies - and that's just fine with me since I am not the target audience. In keeping that in line, ladies, don't squeal and scream or think this is place for a bachelorette -it is not. What you'll see on the stage varies from night to night - sometimes you'll see some fancy man underpants and sometimes you'll see some men with almost no underpants...seriously, it's a mixed bag. But it's all good fun. Four stars because despites the slight sleaze factor, it's always been a interesting time with those cheap drinks on top. Oh, CASH ONLY.

Janei J.

Yelp
The bartender is a piece of shit. Attitude. Rude. Wouldn't spend my money here. I rather go to a straight bar where I'm respected than this bar. They have such a bad reputation. I'm surprised that they have 3 stars even. Ask the locals. They told me to stay away from this place.
google avatar

Harry P.

Yelp
Silverado is the best gay bar. It is where my gay side matured. It is where I've fallen in love. I love the friends I've met here as well as the lovers. Also the bartenders are great. Robert, Chicken, and Josh are the best ever.
google avatar

Tamara C.

Yelp
On Dancer, on Prancer, on Cupid, on all you man-Vixens. You are all most definitely on Santa's naughty list at this gay, male strip club. Oh hell yes to Sunday nights that is referred to as "Church." Devout worshippers come bearing tithings (cash) for the hot, young, thangs prancing around in their cute little underthings. During Church, Instead of drinking the blood of Christ, as the wine there is not my thing, I enjoy $2.00 well drinks. Some prefer $1.00 beers. Be advised the bar is cash only but there is an ATM inside. Ladies, please don't squeal and behave as if you have never seen a man in his skivvies. That sort of behaviour is frowned upon. Be cool, take your cue from the men there. Tip the dancers and enjoy your inexpensive beverages. The dancers rotate from a main stage at the front to a more private little "stage" toward the back. There is a nice variety of handsome fellas shaking their cute booties. This is a fun place to let your hair down and take in some eye-candy while sipping a nice, inexpensive and stiff drink. The drinks aren't the only things you'll find stiff around these parts...bottoms up!

Yelp
What is going on here ? Karaoke side smells moldy. The main area has laser, ehh no, it's string. The bartenders are cute, a few dancers have nice smiles. It's a big space but there is no area to have a conversation. All areas are loud. The decor is not old and rustic; it's more like worn out. Nice pool table and the television screens give good tips on stripper etiquette.

Colton S.

Yelp
I celebrated my first birthday here! I was raised in a very religious household and only came out as gay at 35. My first birthday I got to celebrate was at 36 and I did it here at Silverado! Even though it was still during covid the dancers were personable and friendly! The bar tenders were awesome! I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Matt V.

Yelp
Wtf is all I can say... seriously. Strippers/hustlers are not my thing. So, disregard this review if this is your thing. This place is a dive...but it really doesn't aspire to be much more, so I'll appreciate it for that. Staff here are friendly enough. Good choice of beers on tap as well as bottles. Most of their dancers are really quite good looking, and they have a good mix of guys to suit every fancy.
google avatar

Katie P.

Yelp
Not as fun. Used to come here for man bodies. Now its like a sad Hooters. Not worth it.
google avatar

Valerie W.

Yelp
Oh my. I'm with Jeannie J. on this one and this place isn't for everyone. Definitely divey. Definitely an eye opener. Drinks are somewhat stiff and reasonably priced. $4 will get you through the door. My gay man friends and I ended up here one late Friday night and the crowd wasn't too bad. The music was blaring...but good to dance to. I like that they have 2 separated areas and an outdoor spot for our smoker friends. Video poker and pool on one side, dancers on the other. Although they did have a 'dancing' area on the other side. Lot's o' booty shakin going on. Did not have a problem getting service here although I do understand some straight ladies have had past issues getting drinks. I've heard Sunday is THE day to go.
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
A beautiful, enormous, expansive space. Festooned by a snuggly, little cocktail karaoke lounge. The dancers are so GORGEOUS! So FRIENDLY! I just love them all! Where did they find so many beautiful boys?! Karaoke hosts Rocky and Suzanne are the most wonderful people you will ever meet! So helpful! Suzanne has the voice of an angel! The karaoke selection is fantastic and HUGE! Bartender Brandon is a doll! What a sweetie! I absolutely adore him! Gather up your singles and shove 'em in these boys undies! You'll be glad you did! LOL! HAHAHAAHAHA!

Yelp
Mom: What did you do in Portland? Me: Oh nothing, just went to a gay strip club, NBD. You may ask yourself - does such a place exist? It does and it's called The Silverado Bar in Portland. I'm not really a club or even a strip club kind of guy, but when the opportunity presented itself to check out some dudes dancing, I followed the pack and headed towards this mysterious place. Everyone was pretty surprised that we didn't have this sort of thing in Los Angeles... but then again I think it's pretty much every club on Santa Monica Blvd. Now I understand that no cameras are allowed to protect the privacy of those doing cartwheels in g-strings on stage, but I didn't understand the no clapping, cheering or whistling concept. If someone was doing something memorable, shouldn't they be rewarded with cat calls and bad behavior? Not here, none of that was welcome and they made it very clear that it wasn't permitted, which made it awkward because it was either silent, or people were having their own convos and not even paying attention to what was going on. Monday nights (when we went) are apparently amateur nights - so there was a wide range of entertainment. It all starts promptly at 10pm and each person is given a few minutes to do their thing. Because it was amateur night, there was everything from the super impressive to things that looked like seizures. I was bummed that the talent didn't choose their own music for their routine as I would think that'd be the best part of the job. Everyone danced to whatever was on in the background. The crowd was super diverse with a variety of age ranges. We saw everything from old men cramming dollars down dude's undergarments to a bunch of ladies just hanging for a GNO. There was no type that was here and I think that was what made it more comfortable for anyone that decided to come and socialize. Drinks are super cheap here and they only accept cash. Bring the green if you're going to partake. They do have an ATM in the lobby if you forget, but be prepared for some fun fees to withdraw. Some nights have a cover and others don't, but I don't think it's ever more than $5 a pop. If you're really into getting sloppy, Jell-o shots are only a buck - good luck! We stayed for about an hour and saw a lot of things that we probably will never be able to unsee. From mild to wild, we did see some danglers, but we were ready to retreat to the comforts of overpriced cocktails and men with trousers for the remainder of our evening. It was definitely an experience to remember and I'd come back to check out some of the other themed nights that they have in terms of talent. Keep Portland weird, folks!

Yelp
I love them because they always play Nicki Minaj and I'm her biggest fan ! But besides playing Nicki they actually play good club music, the drinks are cheap and good, the staff is nice. Great place

Yelp
Co-Workers: Let's go out for a drink! Me: Uhhh I'm okay. I'm going home. Co-Workers: Oh come on! You can't miss out on the memories! Me: Oh yes I can. You're just going to go to a lame dive bar. Co-Workers: No, we're going to Silverado! Me: Yeah, it's a lame dive bar! Co-Workers: No. It's a gay strip club. Me: (Looking up Silverado on Yelp app and finding funny half naked man taking selfie in bathroom) Oh hell no. I'm in! Half naked men who are absolutely not interested in me? This is my kind of party. True Confession: I made a secret promise to myself this year that I was going to stop being a prude and have more experiences! I'm going to go hiking in the mountains (I'm not outdoorsy at all), travel to foreign countries, and simply experience more NEW things! Well a gay strip club is certainly something I've never experienced so thank you Portland and dear co-workers for helping me check off a few things from my bucket list. I wasn't sure what to expect considering it was a Monday and AMATEUR night, but I was actually surprised that the Silverado was fairly clean and low key. We ordered a round of drinks from the half naked bartenders and waited for the show to start. The music blared as we hung out with our cocktails and although it wasn't very busy, there were a decent number of people in the room. One thing to note is that there's absolutely no photography, no screaming, and no bachelorette parties allowed. I found this to be extremely interesting because this obviously changes the entire energy of the evening. The bartender, who also happened to be the emcee, announced the contestants for the evening and ten man-boys paraded out onto the stage half dressed in jeans and underwear. Most of them looked liked teenagers and that made the entire situation oddly uncomfortable. Sad to say I personally wasn't impressed and decided that it was time to turn in for the night. I came, I saw and left before having to witness any completely unnecessary nudity. Yes, I'm still a prude, and I'm totally okay with that!

Yelp
Great staff for the most part. Aladin is hot. But he doesn't dance. He also never appreciates his tips and doesn't know how to say thank you. And for that alone I'll spend my tips on the bartenders. Those who matter.STOP RELYING ON THAT BODY! just standing there and playing with your cock like a monkey in a cage isn't gonna get shit from me. Perform. C'mon now. I work for the service industry and I tip well. But you will not grt my money ever again.

Yelp
My first strip bar experience!!! Haha, three of us met up with some friends here and I definitely had no idea what to expect. But we walked in and right away there were boys on stage doing their thing. As people mentioned, one side of the bar is the strip club and if you go back and around, there's a little food place and then a bar with pool tables on the side. They had pretty good drink specials, and for a Sunday night there was a ton of people there. I think the layout is a plus and minus for the bar. It was nice(?) to have two different "experiences", but I think if you're going to be a strip club, you should own it. Would I go back though? Definitely. haha

Yelp
we wanted to visit silverado for a drink during pride month, and did so yesterday around noon, all masked up and sitting outdoors......i had a corona, and my partner had the bloody mary....the bartender and customers were the friendliest and funny....we toasted pride with them too....she was real happy with the bloody mary as we sat outdoors people watching...the music was fabulous and the space perfect for covid 19 outdoors....be sure to tip big during these challenging times...thx so much!

Yelp
Went here for the first time on a Saturday night, first time going to a gay strip club. Mostly everything was great, had a few hot guys that caught my eye and there were lots of people having fun. My only complaint is with the stripper who is very obviously straight since he ignored the guys and only paid attention to the girls. I paid for two songs and he just up and left after like 2 minutes, after promising me so much more. I just wish I could've given that money to someone who actually deserved it.

Yelp
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!! Over priced drinks, lazy dancers, and an awful atmosphere. It is 2017, Who doesn't accept cards for a bar tab?!?!?! A cash only bar that deserves to go under.

Yelp
Some friends and I meandered in here and I have regretted it ever since. There is a cover charge, we give them a car which they don't take. We are pulling money out of the ATM by the entrance. They said for everyone to wait by the entrance. The machine isn't working so it's taking a while to pull money out. I see a guy wearing a shirt, all of 4 feet from entrance and ask him where he got it to make small talk while we are waiting. This large LARGE woman with something to prove, because why not, comes over to me and says "you were told to wait by the entrance". My reply was, I did because I WAS. And we were pulling money out at the behest of the bar, so I didn't understand why we were having this problem. She immediately pulled a power trip and some tragic twink guy that worked there pulled Ugly Security guard solidarity and asked us to leave before we even entered. Garbage place and really put a damper on our trip for absolutely nothing. I didn't wonder outside a 4 foot proximity from the front door! This was all a power trip from some garbage person. Also, every other gay bar we went to, had a great time with no problems. Will not go back here, and neither should you.

Yelp
Frankly, I was disappointed. I'm not sure what I was expecting and maybe it was a slow night (Thursday) but there wasn't a whole lot going on. I'm used to straight strip bars where glowering men stare at naked women with bouncers ready to crack some heads if anyone gets out of line. Larry Miller once compared a guy at a strip bar to a leopard casing a herd of gazelles. Then there's the Chippendale's experience, which is like Gulliver in Lilliput. The guys have to be muscle bound to tear themselves free of the grasps of dozens of middle aged housewives. I guess I expected something in between. This was more like strippers as smooth jazz. That is, it's in the background and people mostly don't pay attention. Occasionally someone would go up and a stripper would come to the front of the stage and money would go into fancy skivvies. A petting zoo! That's what it reminded me of. With penises instead of animals and dollar bills instead of carrots. Thursdays are "Thirsty Thursdays", $2 cover, $2 wells. Maybe it's crazier on the weekends. WTF? Who voted "good for kids?"

Yelp
What's there to say? Guys in manties (and sometimes less) shakin' their booty for your pleasure. Many are good looking, most at least have quite decent bodies. It's very much a gay bar but as a straight woman I've never had any problems in there. Know that you are not their number one priority, and all will be ok. Be polite, tip, don't act like a novice at a bachelorette party, and I'm sure you will be able to make friends and have a great time. They also have a bar in a second room if you want to get a little less penis with your drink. There's still usually a guy dancing there, but only one as opposed to 3 or 4. I've always had a great time here, but go with good friends and an open mind. I'm not much of a strip club person (straight strip clubs filled with girls who do the "stripper walk" around the stage and expect to get tipped for just having an uncovered vagina) but these boys will dance, they'll show off their muscles, even do tricks upon occasion. Have yet to be let down. Highly recommended for boys out on the town looking for a bit of naughty fun.

Yelp
Five stars for a gay strip club? Ha! Ha! Ha! All will come together by the end of the review. Steve and I have a policy that while we are monogamous and married and will remain so it is ok to look at hotties and comment on how they look but touching is not allowed! I find the Silverado a bar that offers something that the many, many gay bars I have been to that the others don't. Good old fashioned stripping or thereabouts. I remember my first 'strip club' was a dive called The Brig in Denver. At first I thought the dancers were strippers but they really weren't. They came out scantily clad and danced and went back scantily clad. The Brig was not good as getting as attractive dancers as The Silverado. After a couple visits there and seeing friends and going on trips to Chicago, Houston, Kansas City, MO and Boston I just did not come across strippers instead of go go boys which is actually what those characters were at The Brig. Some of these guys at The Silverado would tease with quick views of full frontal nudity which as far as I was concerned made them strippers at that point. Other dancers here seemed liked go go boys too. It was quite apparent that several of these guys were straight that were dancing and I think many of the patrons knew that but that did not stop them from getting free drinks by patrons and getting felt up when they were not dancing. Those dancers were probably so drunk by the end of the night that they probably had a hangover for a week. Some of our bonafide strippers knew the art of teasing. Others seem to perform strange gymnastics on stage and others just shook their booty. While I maybe terribly naive coming from the states of Wyoming and Colorado there may be plenty of more clubs like this out there. When visiting, even if your friends are gay it does not normally dawn on them to take you to a full frontal strip bar when you are going about town. But I am not so sure it is just that either. Seattle has no such bars. The alcohol board in Washington does not approve the selling of alcohol in gay strip clubs. In the past gay strip clubs tried to open in Seattle without the alcohol and nearly all of those establishments were short lived. People suggest up here that if you are looking for such a club you should go to The Silverado in Portland. Even after examining other reviews for the bar many reviewers mention that there are no such bars in San Francisco either. Probably the best chance you could see such things but feel the risk of being intimidated or even threatened would be to go to gay bathouses in the big cities. There is a element of danger in those places since I had a friend that got raped in one. Definitely not something for Steven and myself to get mixed up with. So that kind of makes The Silverado a special place, being the only bonafide strip club either of us have been to without getting too creeped out. P.S. The drag queens that showed up the night we went looked fantastic! Especially the zombiesque looking ones. Whether that was their intention or not I do not know.
