If you want to make a splash at a gathering that makes people literally "ooh and aah," get a charcuterie board from Silverlake Socialite. I've bought several, and they have been slam dunks, without exception.
Two were for my mother for her Birthday (Classic and Crudite), and my family couldn't stop raving and immediately huddled around them to chit-chat and stuff their face.
One was for me, because I'm a big fan of Parks and Rec, and sometimes you have to TREAT YO' SELF.
The last one was for woman I've been chasing for months. She immediately took a picture, put it on the Gram, and shared it with her best friend, who now approves of me. Killed it.
Do not deceive yourself; these are not cheap. Quality never is. It's obvious that high-quality materials were used to craft them, and the way it's displayed on the board is pristine. Mention that it's a woman-owned business, whatever your sins in the past may be, all is forgiven.
My advice would be to just go pick it up at their kitchen if you can. The first time I delivered, they came 2 hours early, and then the second time they came 2 hours late. Traffic in Los Angeles is just too unpredictable; go get it yourself if you can.
I'm currently making plans for Mother's Day, and you'd best believe Silverlake Socialite will help me make my mother happy. Thanks, Lauren!
