Charming Neighborhood Spot with Great Vibes and Flavor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 out of 5) We absolutely loved this hidden gem tucked away in the neighborhood. From the unique decor to the cozy atmosphere and carefully curated music, it was a memorable experience from the moment we walked in. Parking is a bit tricky—you’ll likely need to park along the street—but once you’re inside, that small inconvenience is quickly forgotten. Service was fantastic, and everyone we encountered was friendly and accommodating. We ordered the Margherita pizza, which was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. They had great drink specials, and the seasoned olives were a flavorful starter—just keep in mind they do contain pits. The cheese board was generous and well-balanced; we asked for a few extra crackers, and the staff provided them without hesitation. One of the highlights is the interior layout—it’s full of unique seating options, including a private room with its own bar that can be rented out for events. There’s also a lovely outdoor seating area, perfect during cooler weather. Make reservations! Final thoughts: Whether you’re looking for a romantic date night, a casual evening with friends, or a cozy solo outing, this place checks all the boxes. We had a wonderful time, and I would absolutely return.

This place is very nice, intimate setting. The lights are dimmed inside which set a very chill mood. I like the drinks here they are made very well. I recommend the key lime martini and the Sunshine in Oaxaca drink. The food has been delicious and dessert is great! Sunday nights they have salsa dance classes… the only reason I’m giving a four is that parking is limited. Other than that I definitely recommend this place.

Google
Cute local bar with a nice outdoor patio area. Service was friendly but lacking and uncommunicative. We ordered drinks but waited well over thirty minutes before they came. We did order cocktails but we had to walk-in and check in a couple times before they came with the drinks - it felt like we were an afterthought.

Stopped in for a quick drink and loved the cozy vibe. The Black Walnut Old Fashioned was fantastic—smooth with rich black walnut liqueur and a smoky touch. Enjoyed some popcorn while chatting the night away. Perfect spot for a relaxed atmosphere, especially around 6 PM. Definitely worth visiting for a laid-back evening.

Went to Simone’s on a Saturday evening to hang out with my professional friends. The atmosphere was amazing. The menu compliments the beverages and the waiters and bust boys were very accommodating. I rated 3 stars because of a waitress/ bartender by the name of Sophia. Our initial waiter had left for the evening and she came around to check on us. When we asked for the bill we wanted 3 separate checks or spilt the bill three ways. By us being professionals we treated the evening as a casual meeting and we asked to write off the expense. Sophia came back and said the system would not allow her to spilt the check. In the same breath she said well you all can zelle each other the money for payment. As a business professional I had to pause before I responded to her by stating that’s fine but you can use my card and provided her with the last 4 digits of my card number. Sophia proceeds to say ok where is your card? I looked at her and said remember you have all 3 cards as you stated you couldn’t spilt the bill 3 ways. She said I know but which card is being used for payment? I said I told you mine and provided the last 4 digits of my card number. The other guest that accompanied me jumped in and said well wait, I never received this drink on the receipt. Sophia then goes and says well do you want it now? The guest goes no that’s ok since Sophia had a major attitude. Sophia brings back the bill with all 3 cards and my card was ran with the drink still on it. I told Sophia and she went to remove the drink to process the refund. I noticed the check I had to sign but asked for the bill to reflect the refund. Sophia proceeds to say the register would not let her do that but take a picture of the receipt and call my bank if it’s not reflected. Sophia went back to her manager and provided me with a receipt of the drink taken off but I had already signed for the drink as if it was purchased. I said Sophia again you all cannot reflect the refund? Sophia told me to call toast and see how I can get it reflected. By this time I am angry as what should’ve been done was Sophia could’ve consulted with the manager and the manager provide me with cash as the difference to make up or either simply cousin’s provided a receipt that reflected accordingly. I realized the waiter we had before was able to provide another table right next to us 3 separate checks but Sophia and the manager do not know how to use the toast system accordingly l. I highly suggest training as Sophia’s attitude was disrespectful. I tried to educate her on what to say to customers when you can’t provide something as I can understand admitting you cannot provide something is hard to do but the customer respects honesty. Simone’s only get the rating due to Sophia’s customer service as she nasty and need a few weeks off to adjust her attitude and trained on how to use the toast system as it has the capability to spilt checks and process refunds. I hope the owner would consider training her on the system and speaking with her about her attitude towards customers. I will try the owner’s other location as I hear it’s way better but won’t highly won’t return to Simone’s due to Sophia’s attitude. I pay for service as that makes a place feel comfortable. The drinks were well worth it but not enough for us to return due to service unfortunately.

Nice little spot, with great food, intimate setting. Nicely drinks and wine, the food was a pleasant surprise, Rockefeller oysters were delicious. Will definitely return, might even try the Sunday salsa night

The food was great and so were the drinks. Love the neighborhood and The vibes. Service was okay but kind of inconsistent. To be fair, there was a lot going on with some large party next door. Would go again.

Google
As someone who has been here several time I highly recommend. I have a niche drink order they have the bar to cater to it. Furthermore, they have a good selection of food and amazing service. It also has dance nights through the week of you are a beginner or an expert. Highly recommend on all accounts.

Yelp
I've actually enjoyed my simple and quick time at Simone. The parking was a headache and left a lot of uncertainty, I just ended up parking on the driveway of the property which the bartender allowed. But beware, of parking around here. Its an issue that needs to be dealt with first before stepping in. The lounge/bar itself is towards the back of the building and NOT the welcoming front entrance where the door is locked. How akward. Once inside, you'll it'll feel right. Since I landed during Happy Hour, I elected to get the house red and white with their truffle parmesan popcorn. I thought the popcorn was going to be a smaller serving, but it came out in a big bowl reminiscent of a bucket! Love it. I'll have to bring the wife here one day. Great place for wine, lounging and some snacking.

Yelp
We visited Simone on Sunset for my dads birthday celebration. Nice, tucked away location in Houston. They were able to accommodate our party of eight in their main dinning area. My first impression when walking in was chill and romantic, but as the night progressed you could see more guest and noise levels rose. They didn't have much of a menu, but their chicken samosas and margherita pizza was a great starter for the table. The location is more of a low key starter location before a real night out on the town. So grab you a couple of cocktails and enjoy the vibes. The ambience is lightly dimmed and intimate. There also are private rooms that can be reserved if you have larger parties. Will be sure to give them a try another day soon.

Yelp
The Simone on Sunset is a hidden gem (at least to us)! It has a beautiful patio, fantastic drinks, and awesome bartenders. The place is spacious and was very lowkey for a Sunday evening. Happy hour is every day except Monday and Tuesday. There's even a baby possum that wanders around that is surprisingly cute and adds to the charm. The bartender mentioned it's a friendly regular!

Yelp
This is a cute little bar my bf took me to. Not crowed, not loud. It was a nice spot. The truffle fries are really good along with their drinks. Also the service is really good. Will be returning.

Yelp
Cute little wine bar that we almost missed it blends right in. I enjoyed the food and the bartenders were very helpful and welcoming. I will say their parking isn't very good unless you want to valet, we went on a non-busy Sunday and could hardly find anything so I can't image a busy day. The shrimps and grits were my favorite, the sauce was so flavorful and a pretty decent serving size for one person. If you're looking for a nice local spot to have a couple drinks and some pretty good food definitely give it a try.

Yelp
Wonderful visit to Simone on Sunset! Went for a birthday dinner, so we were a group of about 10. There is street parking available or complimentary valet (they accept paypal or cash tips). Enjoyed the happy hour $20 house bottles of wine, spinach artichoke dip, margarita pizza, truffle fries, truffle popcorn, and calamari. Food was good, excellent service from Alicia, and great for our large group. Great place for date night or girls night! I loved the music playlist too.

Yelp
Cute place with a patio! Great place for a date night or to get together with a small group of friends on the patio they have little seating areas for groups

Yelp
The location for me is subpar, it received the hype last fall via social media but this restaurant has been in the Houston food scene for some time. As for location, I think that is how it has stayed afloat for years. I would not say it is the best wine bar I have been to, it's alright. I would not indulge in the food too much, they could barely make a passable coffee drink. The location and atmosphere is fabulous, but that cannot be justified when the wait staff and bartenders on duty can barely make an edible plate of food or coffee that is drinkable. I had to send my coffee back since they could not ask me if I wanted it hot or iced, and I prefer hot. As for the "wings", I took a bite and that was that. I will say their cheesy appetizers merit it enough justice to return but I would be wayward of making it a regular appearance due to the nature of the food and service. Parking is also TERRIBLE and I dined in on a night when it was quite slow. I would think twice and look for another spot before making reservations here, you can find better.

Yelp
Cute ambiance for a date, decent cocktails. Service was good with good timing for a date, not trying to rush us out. Food was good-- liked the steak tartar!

Yelp
I was so excited to finally try this place, but boy, it was a huge let down. Giving this place 2 stars just for the ambience. The food was not great at all. The pizza which was about $16 tasted like the frozen pizza you get from the grocery store. You are better off going to Pizza Hut than getting pizza from here. The "truffle" fries tasted very basic. It was regular fries with very little cheese sprinkled on top. If you want real truffle fries, I'd suggest heading to hoppdoddy, where the taste and quality of the fries are WAYYY better than these. They only had ketchup and chutney that goes with the samosas. They did not have any other sauces. Also, the drink I ordered looked beautiful, however, they burned something in it to make it smoke, which left particles of ash and dust inside the drink. It also tasted burnt and ashy which kind of ruined the drink. I've had many flaming and smoked drinks, but this was just HORRIBLE. My friends tried it as well and none of us could finish it because of how excessively smoky it was. I came his for a birthday happy hour and they didn't even do anything special for the birthday girl, when we asked. Overall, it was a bit pricey for the quality of food you are getting. I'm always willing to pay for good food, but this just wasn't it. We will not be coming back, especially when there are so many better options at rice village nearby. The parking situation is also a bit of a hassle because there is only valet or else you have to park way down the street and walk. They have about 4 spots in the front the restaurant, which they also make you valet for. Not everyone wants to valet, so it would be nice to have an option to park somewhere nearby.

Yelp
A beautifully hidden gem within the West U Area, Simone's on Sunset is a stunning choice for romantic date night. With its low seated couches it is perfect for snuggling up with your boo. However, even if you are looking for a good time with friends, Simone's is wonderful as well. Their hummus and pizza was wonderful and the drinks were fantastic. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Came with some friends on a weekend evening. Service was just ok. I had a reservation but we were stuck with a very tiny table for 4 people (it was that or sitting outside in the cold). My cocktail was fun, the tonic water made the drink change colors slightly and it tasted nice. Food also just ok. Samosas were tiny. Pizza was average, nothing to really dislike but also nothing to rave about. We had to flag down the waiters to order things and bring us the check, etc. They have valet parking, based on tips. Otherwise you could try to park in the surrounding neighborhood. No available lot.

Yelp
I had a great time at Simone's. Perfect spot for brunch with friends. I ordered the breakfast pizza and mimosa flight. They let us use the wine room for my party of 6. Great service and great ambience. Perfect spot for a date or girlfriend meet up. They have lounge rooms at the back and a patio out front. I loved it! The only thing I didn't like was the parking which I had to valet and they only have about four spaces out front but it's no charge you just tip.
google avatar

Yelp
Probably more like a 3.5. This place is super cute inside, and I love the vibe. The food is a little overpriced and the portions are pretty small. We got the vegetarian pizza and the Italian meatballs, and they were good. The wine selection is great as well! We got Sauvignon blanc. It was great! I'm terms of the service, last time I came it was great, but it was lacking this time. They may have been a bit understaffed. We had to ask a few times for plates for our food. Overall, I would recommend this place for a girls night or date night for drinks.

Yelp
Great service! It's beautiful inside and out. We found the place quite noisy. The craft cocktails were amazing! Must have. The food was also very good. We had the fried chicken and margarita pizza. Very yummy. Very picture worthy and great for parties.

Yelp
Such a cute spot tucked away a few blocks from rice village. I went on a Wednesday for happy hour, and I had no idea it was ladies night! They had 25% off bottles of wine, $20 bottle of house wine, half off margarita pizzas and a few of their apps. I didn't get a chance to try their pizza or apps but I did try their cheeseboard, which was amazing for the price. I'd say the small is plenty for a group of 2-4. They also have a great selection of wine and cocktails. My friend tried an espresso martini and said it tasted like chocolate milk. Aside from that, everything else was great. Parking is limited. You'll most likely have to valet (free!) so bring extra cash to tip. I'm definitely coming back here soon to try more food and wine options!

Yelp
My husband and I decided to check this place out while we were doing a staycation last weekend. We showed up just after they opened and enjoyed about an hour of feeling like we're in our own private restaurant. The food was surprisingly good. We got the chicken lollipops and two different types of pizza: smoked duck & beef and jalapenos. So so good. Service was amazing. Will definitely be back. Keep in mind like most of houston there is minimal street parking but they do have valet.
google avatar

Yelp
I came in as part of a meet up group. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere for the place. The outside area is really cute and intimate, and you can also reserve the back room for larger groups. I enjoyed their specialty drinks as well as their margaritas. I didn't order any food but I definitely will when I return. Our party was particularly large but our server was really sweet and extremely attentive. Overall, great experience!
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
Overall I enjoyed my cocktail and my friend and I both agreed the drinks are strong. I would come back for drinks but not food. I think the food is way overpriced. J only tried the basil martini but it was delicious!! It was not too sweet and very strong, just how I like it :) my friend said the splish splash was very sweet and strong, just how she likes it! As for the food... We only got the spinach artichoke dip and margherita pizza. Not to be that person but the margherita was really more like a cheese pizza, but it was served hot and fresh and delicious nonetheless. Granted, I was also starving. The spinach artichoke dip was ok... I just don't think the food was worth the price, even if we got some discount for happy hour.
google avatar

Claire C.

Yelp
Got why are u here vibes from all the staff. Ordered a dirty martini and espresso martini... the classics. Worst dirty martini I have ever had. Would have preferred a cup of vodka warmed up in a microwave. The espresso or coffee used in the other martini was watered down and bitter. Took way too long to get a waiter to come around. Will not be returning. Sad!

Matt D.

Yelp
Good wine, good people, and even better chairs. It says I need 85 characters though, so I will say that it's weird that it's in a neighborhood. But maybe that's a good thing. What do I know?
google avatar

Hirva R.

Yelp
I always like coming here. The people are friendly. The service is good. I think HH would be good too!
google avatar

Courtnie L.

Yelp
Firstly, parking was a bit confusing. I guess I got there before the valet attendant was there, even though the sign was out. When I called, they said just leave my car in the front and someone would come and get it. I didn't feel comfortable with that so I waited. The good thing is I only had to wait maybe 4 to 5 more minutes before he arrived however, while waiting, I saw a few people drive around and then park in the parking lot down the street and walk up the bad part was this was all happening during the rain. Pretty cute and quaint on the inside. We got there close to happy hour time so we definitely indulged in the $20 bottles of wine. Our server was pretty nice. It's a really good spot to have some drinks eat some light bites and have a good conversation.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
I was pretty impressed by this spot! I visited on a weekday evening with a large group for a mixer. I will preface this review by saying it is limited given I only tried one menu item. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed what I tried! While we were mostly socializing, I did have the chance to enjoy the rather delicious cheese board. Complete with 5 different cheeses of various textures and flavors, I appreciated the chance to sample so many great cheeses, especially with the grapes and other fruit! The board was large and served a good 7-8 of us. We were seated at a big table near the front of the restaurant initially, but as our party grew the hosts were kind enough to offer us a private room. This would be a great spot for a private event - there were several tables and a small bar for socializing. I'd love to come back here and sample some of the wines, ideally while snacking on cheese and charcuterie. Maybe I'll check out the happy hour soon and update this review!

Yelp
This locale has great ambiance with delicious cocktails and tasty appetizers. The only con was waiting on service but that was due to it being a particularly busy night.

Yelp
Moody and romantic vibes. We just went for drinks and apps. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful over the menu.

Yelp
The pictures and TikTok videos definitely oversell this place. To start, the scene is not what it appears to be on social media. Call me shallow, but it's what sold us in the first place. We reserved a table and when we arrived, we were sat in a typically "closed" party area that had bare walls, and basic high top tables with chairs that you would typically find at a hole in the wall pool hall, and we were set away from the main part of the restaurant. Eventually I went and found a server in the main area and asked why we were placed in a very cold secluded area. The response was that those tables had reservations. I explained that I also had reservations so I was unclear as to why we were set in such an area that almost appeared as if it was still in the "construction and decoration phase" away from everyone. After I was told "this table is reserved for the managers friends" and I made a "ahhh I see" face, it was then that what appeared to be the "host" approached us (she was very friendly) and moved us to that very same table. The service might be the worst part of it, as my friends and I waited for everything. Waters left empty until we could finally get someone's attention. Wine orders took a while with our previous drinks were left empty. The food was mediocre at best, and I did offer opinions when asked by the server. At the end of our meal when it was time to pay is when we saw the server the most. However we had multiple items of food unfinished that we wanted to take home, and after signing our receipts and finally asking another employee, did we finally receive one box. I tried it, and can honestly say I won't be back unless some changes are made.

Brie S.

Yelp
This is not a wine bar. It's a bad restaurant with limited food offerings and a lengthy wine list. And to top it off, the service was terrible. It has a lovely patio, hence the second star, but there are lots of places in Houston with lovely patios. Visit one of those, cause this place sucks. The list of awful things... (1) My wine came out in a glass poured so full that it was spilling over the sides as it was served to me. If you're gonna call yourself a wine bar, at least get some decent wine glasses. (2) The waitress barely paid attention to us. We had to flag her down repeatedly to make our orders. (3) the food was bad. Actually, the charcuterie board was good, probably because it doesn't actually require cooking. The samosas were cold and just not good. And the meatballs were so dry we could barely eat them. (4) And the worst, well the worst is tied between the full minute she thought she'd lost my credit card, and the extra $112 she charged me that I now need to call and deal with.

Yelp
Such cool drinks and great food! Cute ambiance too! Spinach Artichoke and Samosas were really good too

Yelp
Very cute and I'm loving the vintage velvet couches. A group of us went on a Saturday and had a few drinks. They have outdoor seating, which is a plus. We sat and within minutes had the menus. Service was good. We had samosas, Adamame and spinach dip, all tasty ( some spicy). House cabarnet was only $6. Very cool chill spot, definitely recommend.

Yelp
Awesome, great atmosphere, quieter(if you enjoy that i highly recommend). This place is refined and has a sophisticated yet fun vibe! Great drinks and better food!

Yelp
This place has gone down hill rapidly. I visited this establishment on the premise of seeing if it is still worthy of its former rankings, IT IS NOT!!,. The boy who claims to be the owner was beyond rude. I was trying to make conversation about the establishment's history and he freaked out. This dude is on drugs.!!! He was rude and aggressive. I'm an epileptic with a service dog and I was denied service because of not my dog , but because the questions I asked him. He didn't like me , so he decided me service of my dog ,who tells me when my seizure afflicts me. His words were " we can deny anyone we want to, no Matter what ". I was shocked. I'm a simple person who would like some place of acceptance. This place is not acceptable for good people, just those who treat good people like trash. I'll never go there again and I live five blocks away in west university . BEYOND DISGUSTED!!! Have a good life to all good people!!! Charles Burrage

Yelp
Hidden gem on Sunset! We had delicious cocktails, and yummy food tonight. The staff was so nice, and it has a lovely outdoor area, and a cozy indoor area. We loved it! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Service was decent. Food was pretty good! Drinks were ok. I'd go back for the food. The interior is alright. But this is a solid place for a date. Casual environment.

Yelp
Obsessed. Best romantic and intimate vibe I've seen in Houston. Got a date or need to have a heart-to-heart with someone? Come to this place!! Simone on Sunset is an amazing gem. The space is small and seems to be located in a revamped residential home. The parking situation is non-existent from what I've seen. You'll need to find street parking or Uber. Wine menu is fantastic - highly recommend the truffle popcorn and the cheese board as well. ($16 for the smallest size, pictured below). The lighting is low - there are two rooms filled with a mixture of normal tables, bar seats, couches and lounge chairs. Highly recommend the couches for intimate conversations! Overall, highly recommend. Most suited to groups of 2. If you're in search of a romantic venue THIS is the place!

Shanell T.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant with great drinks. Great service and ambiance. Try the truffle popcorn.

Yelp
Truly an experience. Unfortunately the rain changed many plans, especially if the outdoors was reserved but overall, this was a really good experience for our mother. Will certainly be back with my girlfriend crew for our HH and speakeasy experience.

Yelp
Had kept this on my radar for so long- pics on google not very accurate representation of the current state- though I guess I should take into consideration spring/summer foliage vs winter. Martinis were delicious- only reason for 3 stars. Wine is way overpriced. But- So disappointed in the food situation. Our server was very sweet, but you can come tell me once MaYBE twice that menu items we've ordered aren't available....but THREE times ?! That's a little absurd. It was soon after opening too. Don't know if I'm motivated enough to return.

Stacy P.

Yelp
I had friends visiting from out of the country and wanted to take them to a nice, small restaurant to eat and have some wine. This was my first trip to Simone on Sunset, and needless to say, my last. The website looks beautiful, but that is not the reality. First, we we were brought water in plastic cups! You had to scan the bar code to get the menu, which is fine, but for my guests that don't read English well, ordering took some time and patience. The waitstaff was young and inexperienced. The waitress stoped by to refill our water every now and then, after the plastic cups were empty. They spent more time socializing that waiting on customers. There was only one other group sitting down eating, so it wasn't busy. There were more people drinking at and around the bar than who were dining for dinner. I had to go to the bar and ask for our check when it was time to leave. Sitting at the table, staring at the empty plates and plastic cups was not a sign to the waitstaff that we needed their attention. The atmosphere was loud and obnoxious! It was difficult to carry on a conversation at our table. We were hoping to go out and enjoy a nice dinner and stay for a couple glasses of wine, but we ordered simple pizzas, drank our water from the plastic cups, then left as soon as we could. The pizza was surprisingly good (didn't expect that when compared to the other issues). The place has a lot of potential, but don't let the website fool you. It's probably a great place for college aged adults to go to drink and converse with friends, but it's not a relaxing dinner restaurant.

Yelp
Great place for happy hour specials! On Thursday's, they had Happy Hour until 7: $20 house red and white bottles and $1 off some apps. For 2 people, we got a house red, the Truffle Parmesan popcorn, and the spinach and artichoke dip. The popcorn is huge and was a great thing to snack on! We sat outside, which was a very popular area. They have several patio chairs and tables out front of the restaurant. The patio has a very rustic feel, which I liked! Inside they had plenty of space and a musician playing. Definitely a fun place to chill on a weeknight. I'll have to come back to check out their Wednesday Ladies Night!

Yelp
We stopped by sometime is 2021 and we're treated to a live performance. We sat outside, enjoyed the wine recommended by our waitress, munched on a cheeseboard & a few entrees. Apparently it was steak night & the steak was delicious. The portions were generous and came with sides for a decent price. It's been a few months, and although I don't remember the food, I remember the vibe. Overall it was the atmosphere for me! Great setting for a date, or a catch up with friends. Great backdrop for good conversation & great company

Yelp
Absolutely loved my first time here. Took my girlfriend to Simone for her birthday treat back in April 2021, as well as to have girly time. I made a reservation at 4pm and we parked our cars across. The place is cute and quaint. I love the decor inside. Very colorful and eclectic. A lot of seating areas inside and outside. There's also a private room available if you want to host a party. We were seated by the wine display and ordered a bunch of food. The prices were decent and service was fast, friendly and personable! The staff were so nice and knowledgeable. Food quality is great as well as drinks! We were even treated to a free cocktail since it was my girlfriend's birthday! Definitely will come back! Their bartender's personality and candor is a thumbs up!

Yelp
It can be a little loud and crowded, so I definitely recommend a reservation on the weekends. I went for the happy hour & really enjoyed my cocktail and the appetizers. Staff was super friendly. My biggest complaint was figuring out parking, but they do offer complimentary valet for customers!

Yelp
Whew, where do I start?! This place should be lucky to get 1 star from me. Simone on Sunset has been on my list for it's whimsical patio appearance but that changed at a whim! For starters, the patio could use some sprucing: rusted furniture, creaky awnings, unstable tables & chairs rocking back and forth; it looked like a decorated trailer park. Also, fighting squirrels, the restaurant tends to feed. Two squirrels started tussling on the patio, when staff was notified, the waitress casually stated, "Oh, that's just Simone. " And proceeds to bring a plate of mix nuts to feed her. No wonder the squirrels are tussling! Why are you feeding the squirrels, let alone on the patio furniture, where guests are served, using plates that guests use. At least do it in the back and use a dog bowl or something. We proceeded to order two drinks & shrimp for the both of us (which was misspelled on the menu, by the way). After receiving the drinks, and waiting patiently for our food, the waitress informed us that the gas went out & it'd be 15 mins before the issue was to be fixed. She offered a free appetizer or drink. We took another drink since it was the best thing this place had to offer. Time went by, and she reassured the gas had been fixed and the shrimp would be out in 5 mins ....15 mins later, still no shrimp. By this time, the gas man is still there, and another waitress told us they thought the issue was fixed, but it's not. Before she could finish her sentence, the other waitress came behind her to confirm, yet again, the gas was fixed and the shrimp would be out in 5 mins...20 mins, still no shrimp. After two drinks & a water, I needed a restroom break. Of course, not the cleanest restroom & no paper towels/anything to dry your hands. As I was taking my seat, my guest & I noticed a to go order walk pass us. How does the to go order get their food before us and we've been here since they've opened at 4pm?! 10-15 more minutes, we're STILL waiting on shrimp. When asked about the food, the waitress said it was being plated. The shrimp breading had absolutely no seasoning, I literally peeled it off just to get to the shrimp. The dipping sauce didn't help, again no season or flavor to add to the shrimp. We waited all this time for this?! Keep in mind, this is a Monday. At most, probably 4-5 ppl in this entire establishment. Hella empty. This should've been a free ticket for the inconvenience & time wasted. I even apologized to my friend for bringing her to Simone on Sunset because it was such a disappointment & embarrassment. Reservations at 4:00pm, left at 7:15pm...for 2 drinks & some shrimp! Let me guess, the shrimp was made from scratch Never again! After reading this review, hopefully you can make the best decision, however, I certainly won't return.

Yelp
Our experience was awful. Food: The drinks were the best thing, we got Moscow mules. The shisito peppers were cold and lacked flavor; it's as if they tossed them with a bad salad dressing. The edamame was flavorless as well (very little thought was put into this dish). The hummus was extremely sour, how do you mess up hummus? The samosas were cooked well but lacked flavor. We ordered a pizza but it took so long to arrive that we just cancelled it. Service: We came on a Saturday night and the whole restaurant had a delay in food because of a party going on. No one around us had food and the staff seemed highly unorganized. Vibe: The vibe was nice with paintings and dimmed lighting. I felt bad for the table in front of the wine bookshelf because anytime they needed wine they would have to reach over the people at that table. We felt bad for them. My recommendation is to drink here but not to eat here. They do well with drinks but food quality and service is poor. It's really just bad bar food.

Yelp
If you like good service, then this is not the place for you. The level of service provided does not match the price that you are paying for food/drinks. If I'm going to pay $17 for a cocktail or $25 for a pizza, I do not want to be ignored during my first experience here. My girlfriend and I did not receive any check ups until we were ready to pay. We were greeted by one server for drinks/food, but after that she disappeared and never checked up on us. We went a full 1 hour of no service/2 min bite check after our apps and entree. We did not know who our server was. Funny enough, the tables around us received a lot of service because they complained about the long wait while the server had their back turned to us. We understand kitchen can get busy and didn't complain when French fries took 30 mins to come out. It wasn't until after we done with our meal and I was obviously looking around for help that we were receiving some attention from a different server/hostess. She was not very friendly and sounded very upset when I brought up being charged regular prices vs happy hour. I think the cherry on top was their suggested tip on the bottom of the receipt. 20% - 35%. I've worked the fine dining industry for awhile now. If I'm being charged high prices, I expect a higher level of service than what most restaurants provide. This is the first time in years where I've been genuinely upset with the service provided and would never allow the attitude given to me and the tables around us to pass.

Yelp
Inside was smaller than expected but there is outside seating. I had the margarita pizza but felt more like a cheese pizza. Wish there a more variety for non alcoholic drinks but it is a wine bar so i understand.
