"Located inside The Trailhead outdoor gear shop, this soup, salad, sandwich, and pasta counter is good for a healthy, quick bite on the road or before hitting Buena Vista’s water park. There’s local beer and wines as well as build-your-own natural froyo bowls for dessert." - Josie Sexton

Well made food presented tastefully. Service was quick, servers were very attentive. They have combos for soup and salad or sandwich. Food came pretty quickly and was very satisfying after our long drive.

The service was kind and the prices were fair. The fresh made gluten free bread was delicious and the vegan burger was amazing! The outside patio was spacious and enclosed so kids could play easily with the magnetic wall and other games. Their non alcoholic beer was wonderful as well!

I really enjoy this restaurant. The food is excellent, the staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is great. I only gave the atmosphere 4 stars simply because they can get so busy, and I don't like sitting outside, so it's a bit tough to get a table at peak hours. The owner is friendly and helpful too.

Super delicious and fresh food. Wonderful service, everyone was very kind and helpful. Lots of seating options, especially the outdoor patio area with activities for the kids. Right downtown on Main Street. Highly recommended!

I'm giving the atmosphere a 3 because of the outside patio, but some other patrons had a dog that barked and whined the whole time, and that was annoying. This was a place that claimed to have "new american" food, and maybe at 32 years young, I'm too old to get it. My husband got the elk burger, and it was undercooked and underseasoned. The menu offered few visible prices and was over priced for what it was. We didn't even bother getting drinks because the good was so expensive. I ordered the seasonal Cajun chicken sandwich without onions, and they brought it with onions. Raw, red onions that made my whole sandwich taste like onions even after fixing the situation and removing them. My steamed broccoli tasted like hot farts and had no seasoning. Not even salt or pepper. The pickle was sour and my husband said "I've never seen you turn down a pickle" a truly historic moment for us both. I don't know if these chefs have ever had Cajun food, but Cajun good doesn't include arugula or raw red onions. The seasoning wasn't even Cajun. As far as service, you pay at the front, and then you're on your own until you leave. So I think I did pretty good serving myself! Won't be back.

Food was amazing! We had tomato bisque, Bison citrus cream ravioli, and a fresh baked baguette. The ravioli was the star for sure. Service was very friendly. I hope to come back and try other menu items one day!

Simple Eatery in Buena Vista delivers! Simple Eatery delivers pow pows to the taste buds, the Bison Ravioli had all the taste buds covered. A hint of lemon citrus lightly blankets savory notes of absolutely delicious well seasoned Bison inside the perfectly Al dente … seems to be house made pasta shells. The light sauce was the sauce you lick off the plate (I used my bread, but licking crossed my mind) and make no apologies. I also ordered the steak stroganoff, to try and take home. My steak was perfect medium rare, pasta was again perfect and the stroganoff gravy was well seasoned and something I’d ask for seconds in a second. The staff at Simple Eatery were all nice and eager to recommend their favorite dishes. There’s so much to do in Buena Vista, hiking, biking, motocross, camping. Simple Eatery is situated perfectly downtown after a day outside doing all the things or just walking around town for an amazing meal it’s simple, Simple Eatery 😉

I’m sharing this to warn others who have celiac disease or a gluten allergy: Simple Eatery is not a safe place to dine if you need to avoid gluten. I ordered the Trout dish, which is clearly marked as gluten-free on the menu. I also noted in my online order that I have a gluten allergy. Despite this, when the food arrived, I found wheat noodles mixed in with the vegetables on the plate. At first, my partner assumed the noodles might be gluten-free since the dish was labeled that way but I knew it was a mistake. We called the restaurant, and they confirmed that the noodles were not supposed to be there and that they had “no idea” how they got into the food. That kind of cross-contamination is extremely dangerous for anyone with gluten sensitivity, and the fact that the restaurant couldn’t explain how it happened is even more concerning. If you need to eat gluten-free for medical reasons, I highly recommend you avoid Simple Eatery. Their handling of gluten-free orders is careless, and their lack of accountability puts people’s health at serious risk
