Jacob is an absolute delight every time I visit the store. His energy is infectious—you can immediately tell he genuinely loves what he does. Whether you're a seasoned wine lover or just getting started, Jacob makes the experience approachable and fun. His passion for wine really shines through, and he's always happy to share recommendations or stories behind the bottles. It’s rare to find someone who brings this much enthusiasm and knowledge to their work. The wine store is lucky to have him, and so are the customers!

Cute store. But they don’t carry options under 20$ except for one or two bottles. Quality, affordable wines exists—to not sell them is a choice. In fact, they were selling a can of wine for 20$ and using the growers identity to justify the price tag. You just have to laugh. If your store is exclusive, and you’re upset when people call it out, that’s a you problem.

I popped in and felt instantly welcome, and like my request was easily met with three great recommendations. Wine shops can sometimes be unfriendly or intimidating, but that's not the vibe here. Any time I am in the neighborhood I'll be stopping by to get a bottle!

LOVE this place! Great, curated collection of wins. The flavor profile descriptions are great for us lay-people and the staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. My one and only wine shop I support in Crown Heights.

I love this little wine shop. Every time I go in the staff is super friendly, if you need help or want a recommendation they’re extremely knowledgeable AND they have some of the bottles open to try if you’re not quite sure what you want. The prices are also very reasonable (most are 15-30) and the selection rotates. Truly a gem in the neighborhood.

This place is truly a local gem. All the employees are kind and knowledgeable as can be! They have a large variety of wines and liquor that cover many price points, have regular tastings, and keep their Instagram well updated with their happenings. I make every effort to buy all of my wine here.

I wish I got the name of the lady who helped me because she was so sweet & so knowledgeable about all the wines. She helped me picked out a perfect orange wine that I enjoyed very much & would definitely choose again. The whole store is aesthetically pleasing and has a beautiful selection of wines & liquors you don't see elsewhere. I will definitely be coming here again for my next bottle!

Adorable little wine shop in crown heights! They do free wine tasting on thursdays. My roommate and I stopped in, the sommelier was very friendly and educated. We bought a nice bottle of chilled red that they had been sampling. Great place to stop in to grab a bottle for a dinner party!

Best little neighborhood wine store! Everyone that's helped me find wine have been super friendly and informative with their recommendations. Sometimes I come in and ask for an oddly specific pairing for different things I'm making or order for dinner and they've never steered me wrong. There are affordable wines up to high end wines and spirits available. Every Thursday they have tastings from gins (my favorite tasting by far) to wines from 6-8. It's small inside but the addition of twinkly lights makes it cozy especially when you enter at night. Also do follow them on Instagram to see what they've got to taste in their Stories! You won't be disappointed here.

What a special local gem, can't believe it took this long for me to walk in. Stopped by before on a busy Christmas Eve eve. Received really great recommendations for a fruity and sweet beverage, then had a hard time narrowing it down... went with a lovely sparkling prosecco I'd never heard of but the whole crew loved. Big range of price points, so there's something for every body. Seems like every single item is carefully hand picked. A little bit of everything you could think of including local spirits. Many unique options you probably can't find in most other places, you'll be able to impress the socks off anyone with these; Simple Syrup has already done the work for you!

This place is a true neighborhood gem. Adorable set-up, friendly and helpful customer service, and a rotating selection of fun things to try--what more could you want from a local liquor store? It's the perfect place to find new interesting wines and spirits. My partner and I stocked our bar cart here when we moved and we loved every single thing we bought. Simple Syrup is also our go-to spot for buying nice boozy gifts for friends and family. The only possible con is that it's not the cheapest option in the area, but that being said I always see affordable (and delicious) options whenever I'm in there. This place is truly the best!

I stopped in here for a bottle of wine, and left with 4! Matt was so kind and very helpful, giving me good details about every bottle of wine I asked about. While I did feel like the wines were a little on the pricier end, I did feel like Matt knew exactly what he was talking about, and he was more than happy to help a newb out buying wine for friends. Plus, the shop smells amazing!

Listen, it's not Total Wine and Spirits. It's a small, local wine shop that's super easy to get a recommendation for a nice bottle of wine on your way home if you live in this area. Bottles seemed pricey to me, with the low end being $20, but we didn't shop too much (so maybe there were other price economical priced options). we just took the recommendation from the clerk..and it turned out to be a great wine.

Now I wouldn't have even been outside on a day as cold as this (Real Feel -4) if it weren't for my hair appointment. I started to walk home and the weather said "Yeah?? That's ya plan?! To WALK?!?" I decided, well my icicle everything (for real, name a body part, it was frozen!) decided to call a car. I stepped into this store because the bartender in me simply (see what I did there?) loved the name & I needed an address for the car. I offered to buy something just to stay warm as I waited for my car (that cancelled on me btw) and the owner... I'm guessing she was the owner because she carried herself like a boss... said that was not necessary. "If you see something you like fine, but, it's absolutely not necessary... at all." Turns out I did see something I wanted, a Brown Sugar Bourbon and in addition to that purchase I was offered two samples... a nip to semi-warm me for what turned in to the coldest "winter is coming" walk home and a tasty little piece of cheesecake! I'll be returning for sure... there were a few bottles of wine I spied and want to try.

They always have an interesting selection of unusual wine and spirits that you don't find in typical liquor stores. Prices for every budget. Staff is friendly and helpful. A local gem.

By far my favorite neighborhood shop in years! Does that make me a wino? Maybe. Do I care what anyone else thinks? Nah. They have something for everyone's tastebuds, and pocketbook. I adore everyone who works here, and there's almost always something to taste every time I visit. What more could you ask for?

Only place in the neighborhood where I can ask for solid advice and expect to find quality spirits and wine. Excited to see the place offer an even wider selection because they've got good taste. Speaking of taste: the team organizes tastings from cocktails to local chefs. A nice gathering if you want to get to know who's in the neighborhood and what they love.

I absolutely adore this shop. There is a wide selection of hand picked spirits here. Kai is well versed in the flavors notes and with suggestions when you just can't chose one and everything is just what you need. Highly recommended.

I'm gonna start with the good things about this store because I don't want to sell them short: this store has a lot going for it. It is small but has a nice, carefully-curated selection of good wines for a good price, in an area where you'll be extremely hard pressed to find a liquor store that doesn't have bulletproof glass between you and the bottles. Furthermore, the staff is lovely, knowledgeable, and makes excellent recommendations. Every time I've been there in person, I've felt like it is an absolute delight. Just don't place deliveries with them. For a second time now, they've taken more than an hour and a half to get my order to me, and I live a mere 4 blocks away. Maybe I'm being harsh, but I've worked at a wine store before and I've done deliveries before, much further away than 4 blocks. It never takes even an hour. I don't know how busy they are on a Tuesday night, but to take 2 hours to deliver just two bottles of wine. It's quite simple: either set correct expectations, fix your delivery woes, or don't offer the service if you can't handle it--there's nothing wrong with that! What IS wrong is that I could have walked the 15 minutes it would have taken me to get the wine myself, or I would have just bought beer at the corner rather than have my evening plans ruined by a false promise of a 30-minute delivery.

This place is adorable! Great selection of wines and liquor. Wines are reasonable as well- many bottles are $15-$17, of course they have pricer options as well if you want something more fancy. The owner is very nice. She is knowledgeable and very helpful as well. They sometimes have cool events here as well (clothing sale, cognac tastings, etc).

I love this place - it's become my go-to spot for wine. It's cute and small, and the selection is perfect for those early Friday evenings when I've had a long week of work and am ready to enjoy some wine o'clock. I like it because they always have what I need and have a nice range for all budgets, but the selection isn't so overwhelming that I spend too much time aimlessly browsing. And when it comes to the white or rosé selections, they always have a chilled bottle in the fridge waiting for you. The woman who is usually working when I go in is so sweet, friendly, and helpful - the staff here understands the perfect balance to have with customers vs other places where people can either be too pushy or essentially ignore your presence. Don't hesitate to check it out.

Friendly neighborhood spot with a fun selection! This is not the place to go if you have a really specific product you're looking for or want mass market producers (e.g. no handles of Tito's, Jack Daniels, etc) but if you're just looking to pick something up for dinner or to add something interesting to your bar at home, this is your place. They're generous with samples, helpful at suggesting alternatives if they don't have what you walked in looking for, and have a wide range of price points. And they're dog friendly!

This is an all around great wine store especially for those seeking natural selections. The people who work here are always super kind and give great recommendations. I have discovered new favorite wines as a result of the time they took to share recs. I initially discovered this spot due to proximity living around the corner but have since moved. Now I make the commute and this is still my go-to. Much love to Simple Syrup.

Best wine store in the neighborhood. It's a little bit pricey, but the wine is better quality for the price than any other wine store in Crown Heights (many of which charge $15 for a mediocre bottle of wine, rather than Simple Syrup's charging $15 for a more-than-decent bottle of wine). I got a $14 Bordeaux, and it's really tasty. I did see one $10 bottle of red as I was glancing over the selection, it just wasn't what I felt like drinking. The selection is small, but definitely curated well. The shop is clean and aesthetically pleasing inside, and the employees were friendly and helpful. I'm very pleased with this place - it's not just convenient, it's also reasonably priced for the quality of the wine and, although the selection is small, they had just what I wanted.

I have lived on Nostrand for many years and am in love with every bit of this place. And now we have an amazing wine store! What more do you want? Knowledgeable, super amazing owners, incredible wine, liquors from all over the world, plenty of local and small batch everything... All for totally reasonable prices. And they have Tuesday tastings! So excited!

I can't tell you how happy I am to finally have a good wine store on Nostrand Ave. They currently have a small selection of very reasonably priced hand-picked wines from many regions, including New York State. The staff seems very knowledgeable and friendly. The wine I selected was pretty delicious so I guess that means I won't have to settle for hot juicy liquor store wine anymore! They just opened this week so I'm sure the selection will only increase. From what I hear, they plan to have wine tastings and classes and such in the future. Great addition to the neighborhood.

I LOVE This place. Came in the first time just before Thanksgiving because I thought I had seen a note that said they'd have some wine tasting for Sunday evening. Well, I showed up on Sunday evening and lo and behold, I had got something mixed up because it wasn't actually until Tuesday evening. But they still let me do some tasting which was really nice of them. Of course, I came back on Tuesday as well and did some more tasting, ha! It's really well decorated and lit. They usually have a bottle open for you to do some tasting. The wines are weirdly affordable AND good. So you can find a wine for $16 - $22 that you'll want to drink. Some wines are local and some wines are from the usual wine countries so there's a wide range in that sense. Plus they have liquor and atypical ones you might want to try. The staff there are super friendly and knowledgeable too. So all in all, definitely my favorite wine spot in the neighborhood. Not sure I'd go anywhere else after being here to be honest. Check it out!
