The female sommelier lady provides an excellent service, perhaps even too good for this place, she certainly knows how to be attentive and constantly keeps an eye on all the tables. Perfection and it really made us appreciated this evening. We have tried the degustation menu & it is a bit of hit and miss - some of the dishes were delicious (cheeks, fish, desserts, amuse bouche) and some were either plain (cauliflower, lamb) or burnt (the poor octopus was rather inedible). 🤷‍♀️ The price for the degustation menu is only 80 euros and you get extra amuse bouche and also one pre-desert. Wine pairing was around 50€, thus price point is pretty low and therefore we don’t mind we didn’t really like some of the dishes. They also are pretty good in adjusting the dishes, in case you have a gluten allergy.

Another hidden gem in the city of Athens which merges Greek tradition with modern techniques. We selected the 8 course menu and it was a great experience. Every course followed a sequence which made total sense. Probably traxanas was our highlight dish of the dining.

This restaurant is a must visit in Athens. It breaths honesty down to its core. The atmosphere is pleasant, service is impeccable, informed, and kind. They make you feel welcome. Food carries the logic of plates to share. And they do accomplish to elevate your gastronomic experience with their honesty and their imagination. Flavours that are brilliantly combined and presented. Well done to the chef and the whole team for what they have accomplished and for keeping this journey grounded and inspired.

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Simul. Very creative and tasty bistronomic food in a friendly and cozy atmosphere. Seasoning is a tiny bit strong on some plates.

Our party of four dined here week before last. The thing with upscale eateries in a city full of culinary gems is that they have to be truly extraordinary in ambiance, service and menu choices to stand out. In our experience, Simul does just that. The right level of special attention to detail in each dish. A slight twist to traditional flavours without overcomplicating it. Front of house are well trained and seem genuinely happy to serve, making guests feel welcome and looked after. The excellent sommelier made very good wine pairing recommendations. What stood out: the lamb shoulder with asparagus and artichokes, cooked to perfection. The morels were interesting: some of my more conservative guests were not thrilled with the hint of garlic flavoured caramel 😉 My personal favourite was the bonito with fermented pear and horseradish. Beautifully plated and surprisingly layered taste combination that could have been a complete flunk, had it not been so perfectly balanced. If you are in the mood to try something different, Simul is definitely worth a visit!

Sorry for the bad photos on the bread and pre-dessert(ice cream, I forgot to take the picture first and then eat.... The food was perfect... Superb... I even ate stuff I don't usually eat... Be careful of the wine pairing... You will probably need a taxi back home... Congratulations to the staff, everything was perfect... Even the music in the background
