Inside SIN, the New Italian Steakhouse in Northern Liberties | Eater Philly
"A new Italian steakhouse is opening in Northern Liberties: SIN (Steak Italian Nightlife) will open Nov. 16 at 1102 Germantown Avenue on the ground floor of The Beverly; the 4,750‑square‑foot space seats 160 and aims to deliver a “vibe dining” experience with live local music alongside meals, though the owners emphasize it is a restaurant — not a nightclub. Led by chef Steven Kim (with sous chef Eduardo Olarte) and owners Justin Veasey, Mike Connors and William Muhr, the menu elevates classical American‑Italian dishes using artisanal ingredients, seasonal farmer’s‑market produce, and passionately crafted veal, steak and seafood; Kim’s take on a half‑chicken Marsala is deboned and finished with maitake mushrooms and porcini butter. Signature items include chicken parmesan, half‑chicken Marsala, veal piccata, roasted lobster, eggplant stack, charred octopus, and numerous steaks (32‑ounce tomahawk, 14‑ounce New York strip, 8‑ and 12‑ounce filet mignon) with add‑ons such as lump crab meat, au poivre and bordelaise, and vegan, vegetarian and gluten‑free options are available. The full‑service bar, led by general manager Emir Kahriman, offers Italian wines, beers and cocktails such as an espresso martini, pistachio martini, a G&T with pink peppercorn and limoncello, “it’s a SIN” (Tito’s Vodka, limoncello, strawberry puree, lemon, graham‑cracker‑crusted rim) and “divine damnation” (tequila, raspberry hibiscus, egg white, lemon). Grand opening is Thursday at 4 pm with regular service Tues–Thurs 4–10 pm (bar closes at 11 pm, Thursdays at 11:30 pm), Fri–Sat 4–10 pm (bar closes at 1 am); closed Mondays. Reservations are available on Resy, the full dinner menu is served all evening, happy hour will start next week, and lunch and brunch are planned for early next year; for reservations call (215) 602-4092 or contact Kirstin Thomson for private events at kirstin@sinphiladelphia.com." - Ernest Owens
