Good food, but service was very spotty.
My wife and I played it safe to start and order some steamed pork dumplings, which were good, but shy on the pork. My wife actually thought they were my kimchi dumplings, which the server actually forgot to order. I had the chicken ramen, which was good. It had a nice, rich and complex broth, but just included huge chucks of chicken, which were difficult to eat, and a few trimmings of veggies. I was expecting something a bit more elevated. My wife order the Chili Shrimp, which just tasted like tempura shrimp tossed in a ton of sweet and sour sauce. It tasted like basic take-out fare.
The best part of the meal was the house kimchi, as they call it. It is mostly fresh cucumber salad tossed with some kimchi cabbage, onions and spicy gochujang/gochugaru sauce. It's really good. They should sell it as a stand alone appetizer. Overall, the menu is desperately shy of vegetables and vegetable options, especially for Starters. They do have some tufo options, but that's the cheap way out over offering some interesting vegetable options.
Finally, as previously mentioned, the service was slow and spotty. Our order was wrong and it came out after all the other tables that were sat after us were served their meals. During this time the host or manager was reading a book at the front door- not a good look when customers are waiting a long time for their dinner and something I've never seen in a respectable restaurant.
We'll go back to try some other dishes, but I think they are going to need to step things up to be considered a destination restaurant in Milwaukee.
