My wife and I had dinner for our wedding anniversary sans children and also stayed in the hotel. We had the tasting menu. It was an amazing meal on the whole. We were perfectly happy with the portion sizes. Each course was packed with a delicate balance of spice and full of flavour (we did not find anything hot). There was even a little anniversary surprise at the end of dinner courtesy of the restaurant. The only slight disappointment was the chocolate desert. It was perfectly nice and well presented but a little one note and would have preferred an alternative. Evening atmosphere was fine but it wasn't even half full and, I imagine, is more fun in the afternoon when there is a view of the weir. We would definitely return (in fact we are planning to go with some friends in the New Year)

Another fabulous meal - absolutely delicious. Again they changed the red wines for white without fuss when I ordered the wine flight (I can't drink red wine). A lovely date night treat.

Fantastic food, great location 🙌🏻 Enjoyed delicious indian food. Have been here a few times.. this time tried 3 course set menu on a weekend. Each item was delicious - chicken, monk fish and the dessert 😋

I was absolutely blown away by the food - it was delicious! The quality, the flavours and the presentation of each dish was perfect! Combine that with the wonderful, faultless service and the beautifully clean venue, and you’ve got yourself a truly special experience that you’ll thoroughly enjoy. The staff are a real credit; they were so attentive, polite and friendly, and looked to be enjoying their work - nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our taster menu so much (highly recommended) that we plan to come back with our family to enjoy the full menu.

Had the seven course tasting menu and it was excellent. I had halibut instead of lamb or venison, was delicious. Overall an excellent night with lovely staff. Even bought the book with the recipes in.

Arriving at the hotel in which the restaurant is situated, we had the amazing view of the river and entered the hotel to be welcomed by the staff with happy faces. The staff took us to our seats and were very accommodating of my coconut allergy. They took our order and we enjoyed the view of the river. Shortly after this, the poppadoms were placed before us. These were amazing, I was pleasantly surprised when the smaller poppadoms just melted in my mouth. The chutneys both had an amazing flavour. This was then followed by the starter, the chicken tikka was beautifully moist, with a little kick of spice to it. Then the mains came and the lamb was beautifully tender and the curry was fragrant. The naans also came and they were really nice with the cheese melted just right to get that stringy effect. The puddings came and it was very nice, the honeycomb on the Rasmalai was a nice touch and the vanilla ice cream was very rich and creamy. The drinks we had through the meal were very nice, the mango lassi wasn’t too thick and the mojito was flavoursome and the chilli didn’t make it too spicy. Overall, an amazing meal with amazingly attentive staff. I would definitely recommend eating here.

We had a very enjoyable experience. The staff was super friendly and professional. The view is quite nice with the Thames right outside the window. We had the tasting menu and it was really good. I have to admit thought that our pallets are more geared toward French/cosmopolitan cuisine, so I don't think we got full enjoyment out of the various taste combinations. This of course is due to our lack of experience/exposure with Indian fine dining and not at all the fault of the restaurant - they did everything right! Also the lamb dish was amazing - melted like butter. Overall, if you enjoy Indian cuisine and fine dining, you really can't go wrong here.

We had the 7 course tasting menu, which was delicious. We loved the coriander pickle that came with the poppadoms and they were kind enough to give us a small container of it to take away. One suggestion to the serving staff; talk to the guests to see how regularly they'd like the courses to be presented. Some people are happy to have the whole meal done within 30-40 minutes, but we wanted to go at a much more leisurely pace and discuss the tastes and flavours of each course, and we had to ask them a couple of times to slow the pace down. We also decided to stay the night at The Compleat Angler as they had some great value rooms as a 'last minute' rate. The attached picture is of the hotel/restaurant from the other side of the river Thames.
