"Located in Donelson, Sindoore is an intimate and excellent spot to stop by before or after a BNA flight. Fill up on Indian favorites like yellow lentil soup and a collection of curries soaked up with an order of garlic naan. Much to the delight of regulars, Sindoore brought back its lunch buffet at the end of 2023 so you can enjoy your favorites alongside any new-to-you dishes." - Kellie Walton

"Sindoore serves North Indian cuisine in an elegant space tucked into a strip mall off Donelson Pike. To start, try the chicken kati roll — an Indian street food staple resembling a burrito. Then, round out the meal with the Amritsari lamb shank and butter naan. But save room for dessert — the homemade paan ice cream is flavored with betel leaves and rose petals." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

"Serving up Northern Indian cuisine in cozy digs, Sindoore holds its own against any Indian restaurant in Nashville. While the naan is worth the trip alone, the tikka masala (available as chicken, fish, or paneer), baingan (roasted eggplant), and a large selection of both meat and vegetarian entrées make this place a local treasure. Lunch crowds are common, thanks to a buffet featuring a wide selection of favorites, which is a great way to experience the full spectrum of the menu. It’s a small restaurant with limited seating, so patience is encouraged and rewarded." - Justin Bonnema

Google
Our first time dining at this restaurant. So impressive, was not expecting this level of dining experience in a small shopping center. Great service. Food was excellent. Garlic naan bread a great dish. Atmosphere was quiet and relaxed.

Google
Absolutely divine! My partner and I drove two hours from Kentucky for this experience and it did not disappoint. The lunch buffet was well stocked, clean, and full of selections that not only looked and smelled amazing, but tasted like culinary perfection! The staff was very friendly and hospitable, all in all a 10/10 dining experience. We will definitely be back!!

Google
All the servers were nice and the place was welcoming. Bollywood songs were playing, warm simple interiors and a small bar. But, I personally felt that the food tasted bland and the quantity was also very less as compared to the price. They did give free papad chutney and rice though. We ordered paneer 65 as an appetiser and garlic naan with kadhai paneer as main course.

Google
My husband and I have dined in once and ordered take out once and enjoyed it both times. Tonight, we ordered take out for a second time, and my husband found a large fly cooked into his food. He didn’t finish his meal. We loved this restaurant but turned off of it now :(

Google
This is definitely the best Indian food in Nashville. I got the roganjosh, asked for extra spicy and it was nice and spicy. My partner got the butter chicken. From what I tasted of it, it was also delicious and more complex than it often is at other places. The waiter was attentive and professional. The atmosphere was pleasant and nicely themed. Nothing overstated. The price was reasonable as well. Overall I definitely recommend it!

Google
Nice place. Great service. Nice selection of Indian beer. Delicious (and inexpensive) lunch buffet daily. I'll be back soon.

Google
Ordered the food from doordash. The food was delicious and tasted really good. Just had the chance to try daal this time with rice. I called them to add onions on side as there was no option on the app to add this request or purchase it, the gentleman over the phone helped and got the onions on side for me which I really appreciate! Overall, highly recommended.

Google
Love the lunch buffet! Great spread of all the classic dishes.

Yelp
Wonderful food and excellent service! The lamb was fantastic, I chose the Saag! I also tried the Pav Vada, which had a great spice level. Not too hot, but very flavorful.

Yelp
I love good Indian food, and Sindoore is better than good. It's fantastic. As an expat English man, you have to realize that Idian cuisine is the UKs national dish. Having been here for decades, I always feel a little let down when eating at Indian restaurants, until now. Vindaloo is by far my favorite dish, and I've never had a really good one in the USA, that drought is over. Let the great pouring of chicken vindaloo commence! As well as having some really excellent dishes, goat curry, chicken goan, butter chicken and their chicken tikka masala are all to be praised. Their service is also way up there. Not too intrusive, but you don't feel abandoned. All of the staff we have encountered should be praised by the owners, they're worth every penny and more. It's a small restaurant which looks tightly packed, but whilst there you don't really notice it. Not too loud and has a good atmosphere. We will be back again and again.!

Yelp
The food was DELICIOUS! The service was average. They weren't overly nice but they were sufficient. The restaurant was nice and quaint.

Jessica A.

Yelp
Insane how much this hit the spot. Korma Lamb, not spicy, just flavor and excellence. The Raita was a little on the sweet side which actually paired perfectly. Kashmir and Garlic naan were great. Chai was super comforting. 11/10

Roxy M.

Yelp
The food was really good!! Especially enjoyed the okra dish. I feel like anything here would be good.. loved the butter naan as well. We got there right at 5pm when they opened & they quickly got slammed. The restaurant was packed. I'm guessing because it was on the Yelp Too 100 a lot of people are wanting to check it out now. So while we did get seated immediately we did wait on our food awhile so go when u have time.

Brian B.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! Hands down, the best Indian food in Nashville area. We had Cauliflower Manchurian and Butter Chicken. Both were excellent

T R.

Yelp
Amazing good. Great staff. Eat quality Indian food I've found outside of Chuhan Ale house in Nashville.

Yelp
Well hello there, new go-to Indian takeout spot. Before I rave about how incredible Sindoore's food is, I first have to shout out their extraordinary customer service! My husband and I decided to place an order for delivery through Sindoore's website on a Friday night. Their delivery service is through DoorDash, and we had to deal with the very unfortunate circumstance of our food never actually arriving at our doorstep. Whether the Dasher couldn't find our home, or just decided they'd rather enjoy our food for themselves ... we missed out on our meal on Friday night. Although this was a regrettable situation, I want to emphasize that this had nothing to with the restaurant and everything to do with that particular Dasher. The Sindoore team went above and beyond to ensure that we received a refund for the food we did not receive ... going back and forth with us and DoorDash all weekend long over phone calls and text. A few nights later, we decided to give it another try. Instead of ordering delivery, my husband went to pick up our order directly from the restaurant (which is probably what we'll be doing from ANY restaurant for the foreseeable future!) We had zero issues with this - our food was hot and ready at the exact time promised! We ordered a little bit of everything ... Butter Chicken, Potato Korma, Samosas, Vegetable Pakora, and plenty of Garlic Naan. Everything was incredibly delicious! The Butter Chicken was creamy and balanced, the Korma was warm and spice-forward, the Samosas were crisp on the outside and pillowy on the inside, and the Pakora was perfectly fried. I almost don't blame that DoorDasher for stealing our original order ... almost. I can't wait to work our way through the entire Sindoore menu - and absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a hearty, comforting meal!

Yelp
This place look like a hole in the wall from the outside, and as it was near the airport in a sea of chain restaurants I was concerned. Well, you don't need to be concerned because the food was pretty good. My only recommendation here is related to the purchase of alcohol. Drink prices are very reasonable, but they're not really good at making drinks. All I asked for a Martini and I got a shot glass with a shot of gin in it. A bit disappointing... But with regards to the food, it was pretty good I had the lamb vindaloo and ordered some of the naan. Not two spicy, and very tasty. Give it a shot, but forget the drinks! Buy a beer instead!

Anne S.

Yelp
This is some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Been to India twice, and this HIT. THE. SPOT. I had butter naan with paneer tikka masala and it was so good - perfectly balanced flavors. I was only in Nashville for the night but whenever I return, I'll be back.

LeaDan Y.

Yelp
Ordered through Grub Hub, so probably more pricy than visiting the restaurant. I am ONLY commenting on food because I am not qualified to comment on service nor ambience since it was a delivery. For 2 and a half people, we spent around $100 for 2 entrees, 2 drinks, and 6 sides. Didn't realize rice came with each dish. We were SO hungry, having been on the road for hours, and probably ordered more than we needed to. In any case, despite the price, we will still have enough leftovers for at least 1 more meal so the cost will even out. The vegetarian samosa were too salty for me, but my husband enjoyed them. His entree was too spicy for him but perfect for me.

Robert R.

Yelp
Quite a nice place inside, situated in a strip mall. Menu is a little different from the standard Indian restaurant, but you'll find some of your usual favorites here. More than the usual offerings of vegetarian dishes, but not exclusively so. Complimentary poppadom pieces served with a mint sauce and a sweet ginger sauce as an amuse bouche. Mixed vegetable pakoras were different from the usual, and not really in a good way. I know Vindaloo curries are known for being very spicy, and I've had a great many over the years, but I asked for my Vindaloo, medium spicy as they offer three spiciness levels, but I felt it was still on the hotter side of medium and was glad that I'd ordered a side of raita and that they frequently filled the water glasses. Phew! The waiter was okay, but their was something a little off about him e.g. not looking at you and instead looking across the room when you're ordering from him. Overall, the experience and the food was okay, but I wouldn't rush back here.

Shelisa S.

Yelp
This is the best food I've ever had in my life. The service was great. Honestly get the salmon, I've never had anything like it

Chris A.

Yelp
One word, delicious. I am no expert on Indian but every time I come here it does not disappoint. The staff are friendly and the place is classy. Parking can be a challenge if they're busy. They share a lot with several other businesses. Also the waiting area is extremely small. Only about 4 chairs. I discovered this place by doing Uber Eats delivery. Part of the pluses of doing Uber Eats is discovering new restaurants. Well I marked this one for follow up and it did not disappoint. My go to is the tikka masala. The flavor is so good. This is not your normal takeaway place. It's a nice place to treat yourself to a nice meal.

Yelp
I've eaten a lot of Indian food. There's everyplace else, and then there's Sindoore. This is a tiny little place, tucked away in a non descript strip mall on Donelson Pike near the airport. Don't let first impressions fool you. It is very tastefully and beautifully decorated. The owner is stationed just inside, orchestrating the entire dining experience. Everything we tried was delicious! We started with samosas & pakoras, then moved onto Fish Goan (no one offers this & it was made with MahiMahi!!!) and Lamp Shanks with Kashmiri Naan & mango chutney. Everything is cooked to order, so takes a little longer, but is more than worth the wait. I literally could not stop eating because the food was so special. I will always eat here when coming thru Nashville. Call ahead for seating because this place is tiny.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Sindoore is DELICIOUS!! I'd never had Indian food before and tried Sindoore since it's just around the corner. Service is great and the food is so good, I now crave butter chicken and garlic naan. And we did try another spot but hands down Sindoore is the best, most flavorful place for Indian food in Nashville.

KaSea C.

Yelp
Best samosas I have ever had! Super flavorful and the crust is tender and flaky. We had chicken korma...it was divine! The butter chicken was so good I wanted to lick the bowl. Tiny place but give it a try! Service was also fantastic!

Erin B.

Yelp
First time ever trying Indian food and I'm regretting I hadn't sooner. I ordered a small lunch order through Doordash of garlic naan and butter chicken and it was hands down one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Will be back this weekend for dinner! Can't wait.

Haley Z.

Yelp
This is my favorite Indian place. Wayyy back in 2019 I made it a goal to try every Indian restaurant in the Nashville area. At that time there was 13 and I tried them all. Sindoore was hands down my fav. Honestly, I get the same thing every time. The veggie Goan Curry because it's coconut based. And at most indian places I can't find goan so I have to get korma, but really I just want goan, so this place is my fav. Also, I dig the vibe. Their service is good, but the food takes forever, but I kinda like it because it makes me feel like they're really cooking it for me because I swear it's slow like that every time lol

Annie M.

Yelp
Amazing food!! Yelp's top 100 was not wrong when choosing this Donelson spot. We got so many dishes and all were perfect. The service was also great and we only got it to go. Can't wait to check out the inside!

Robbi E.

Yelp
I visited Sindoore during a lunch break and was delighted for all the yummy options they were able to provide. The service was fast and friendly, and they help me settle between a few options I was descending between. If it's your first time trying Indian food, you can't go wrong with their butter chicken. If you're wanting to try something new, a personal favorite of mine is the lamb curry.

Sweta P.

Yelp
This restaurant has a very nice ambience although it's a small restaurant and during the dinner time the area gets busy. I would like to rate the food as a 4.0 as well. The food was good and some dishes better than other. What truly was disappointing was service it took them longer to get us water/drinks refill then for our food to come out.

Teri T.

Yelp
Indian food is a staple in my diet. After living in 5 states and 11 city's, have a go-to place for Indian is a must. I adore Chauhan Ale and Marsala house and Sindoore is now it's rival. The staff is excellent and the food is packed with flavor. I ordered food to go and enjoyed a feast at home that tasted fresh and on par with anything that would be delivered to your table in the restaurant. I enjoyed two curries (Goan with Chicken and Korma with lamb) that tasted like they were cooked for days, thick and creamy. The meat was excellent and lamb melted in your mouth (and I'm not normally a lamb person). We also enjoyed the samosas, cauliflower Manchurian, and garlic naan. Samosas are massive and almost filled me up on its own! I liked the cauliflower Manchurian but it was the only items that is probably not the best for takeout. Any crispy element from frying was soggy from the sauce by the time it got home. All in all. This is a must visit for Indian food in Nashville. Don't miss out!

Mr. And Mrs. H.

Yelp
For the area, we find Sindoore to be the best quality Indian food, by far. We drive past a few other Indian restaurants, in our way to dine here :-) Mr. H has really been enjoying the Potato and Spinach Saag, and any tikka dishes, including the lamb are solid. The fried cauliflower appetizer is also notable!

Nancy Z.

Yelp
The food was outstanding. I had the chicken Tiki Masala and it was perfect. My husband had the lamb biryani He thought it was the best he has ever had. Our waiter Ram was very attentive and interested in our trip from Iowa to Florida. Our experience was very delightful after a long driving day. The music offered a nice background to our meal. This is a can't miss! Restaurant clean and neat!

Danielle J.

Yelp
Pretty excited to try this with the high reviews and so few Indian restaurants this side of town. The Lamb Korma was absolutely perfect, with super tender pieces of meat and really flavorful sauce that is the best I have had anywhere; the saag paneer was a tiny flat on flavor. The few misses were the amount of protein in the dishes was very small for the price, so that it was a bit like a giant bowl of sauce. The garlic naan was sadly rubbery and bland which was a stunner. The flavor of the Lamb Korma holds this up for me overall, and would be willing to get back to try other dishes for sure.

Joy J.

Yelp
Their food is truly fantastic. The sauces are delightful and the love the chips they give you as an appetizer (can't think of the name right now). I would give them a 5-star but their cocktails need help. It's better then a year ago when they would just give you a shot of vodka (some people would love that... not me), but they have some work to do. Don't let the "hole in the wall" look from the outside turn you off.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Loved this place. Butter chicken was amazing. Methi masala also excellent. Ram was very attentive and helpful. Definitely will go back.

Ben K.

Yelp
Amazing service very nice food! Highly recommend! Let be it we go every time we're near the airport!

Lisa M.

Yelp
The ambiance and service is great. The food is fresh and the employees are welcoming. I wish I took a picture of my dinner!

Tahseen H.

Yelp
The food was good and the atmosphere was very nice of the restaurant but the spice level was super whitewashed. I asked them to make the food as spicy as possible and what they brought out was at most mild. Service was very nice though. I just don't think this would be the most authentic desi place to eat.

Shannon B.

Yelp
Very good food. Fast service. I wish the menu had the gluten free options marked, but the waitress knew what could be made gluten free.

Laura G.

Yelp
I'm always craving this place- I've eaten here 10+ times. My go to is the chicken korma, medium spicy with a side of garlic naan. It's the best Indian curry I've had in Nashville. The naan is good but I will say it's not perfect. It's slightly slightly slightly spongy. But I don't like to think about it too hard. The chicken biryani is another favorite of mine. Their samosas are a tasty app and their chutneys are yummy. I love the tamarind sauce. I had the betel leaf for dessert once. The server tried to convince me NOT to order it which actually only made me more intrigued. While I liked it, the rose syrup was overwhelming. Still, fun to try and I ate the whole thing. Turns out betel leaves have some weird medicinal properties though I didn't realize so if you're pregnant or something maybe skip the betel. They have never messed up my takeout orders either. The servers are super friendly. Good music too.

Greg R.

Yelp
A very, very good restaurant. My wife and I stopped for lunch on a Saturday, and enjoyed everything about this place. It is comfortable, they bring filtered water to drink, they have a bar and can make cocktails and serve beer, and the food is top rate. It was just great, I highly recommend it.

Troy V.

Yelp
I have a lunch special comma with several vegetable dishes. Each of the four samples comma were excellent but doctor especially the spinach one. Tony was kind and attentive. , and we will bring our family back for dinner!

Aziz I.

Yelp
Worst Indian food in town. Just ate here this morning and have food poisoning now. Food was cold and probably left over from previous days. Do not recommend.

Diana V.

Yelp
Great food. Love the Tika Marsala and Butter Chicken. Wish they added some veggies to these dishes but then I'd have to give 6 stars.

Alena D.

Yelp
5 star experience! One of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. Garlic naan is one of a kind, you should definitely try it. All entrees were delicious as well. New favorite place in the books.

Devine P.

Yelp
The food was okay, not much flavor at all and i've had my fair share of indian cuisine. The service was fine as well, servers and the owner were engaging and ensured everything was okay. The atmosphere was ok as well. Very quiet. I ordered the garlic naan. It was bland, no flavor at all and super crunchy. Food didn't taste fresh as well. I would rate this place all together a 5/10.

Dev A.

Yelp
Home like food. Overall good experience.. Ordered dal tadka and kadhai paneer... We recommend to others

Lena P.

Yelp
Exceeded expectations Garlic naan, tandoori chicken and samosa chat were great. Eggplant dish was good. 5 out of 5!

Dave H.

Yelp
Outstanding flavor and service Ate there with new friends. Everyone got the special and everything was loved Quite unusual to have a full meal that everyone loves every part of.

Simon M.

Yelp
Great ambiance..... very tasty food.... Very good service... very fast service....will definitely go back there again...

Sydni V.

Yelp
Great food. Service is fast and always hot when picking up on time! Consistently delicious.

amaya m.

Yelp
For our first time trying Indian food this was to good 10/10 everything had so much flavor down to the chips an dip they had...definitely will be back

Matt G.

Yelp
Naan is perfect! Chicken Korma is so good me and my lady order it once a week Very nice manager. Pay Vada is also delicious

Kristen M.

Yelp
Ordered during corona, and took advantage of the $50 delivery meal deal and it was more than enough food for two hungry adults stuck at home for TWO meals! Delivery came within 45 mins and we don't live close to the restaurant! We ordered the butter chicken and lamb korma and both were delicious along with the garlic naan (our favorite!) and the yummy app and dessert! I highly recommend for both take out and in person PC (post corona!)

Sarah C.

Yelp
I live in Denver but ate there when I was in Nashville. I have been thinking of how good the food was ever since. We LOVED the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in town.

Danyelle C.

Yelp
Fantastic butter chicken. Very fresh and delicious. Will definitely order again. Naan was excellent also

Amanda H.

Yelp
Best Indian food in Town! I would consider this a more mid-range to upscale restaurant. The food is definitely upscale! We've ordered take out many times over the past few years. We've had most kinds of their naan (if you're feeding multiple people, I suggest ordering several orders of naan, the cheese is my fave.) Our orders are always correct & delicious. The Paneer 65, Mutter Paneer, Goan Curry Shrimp, Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala Chicken, Korma Chicken & Lamb Roganjosh are all very GOOD! It's a bit pricey but considering a fast food value meal is $10-12, it's worth every cent. Do yourself a favor & eat some good quality food here!
