I’m not picky at all, but our experience at this place was terrible. Even though we were paying customers, we were treated in a clearly discriminatory way, were kicked out of the karaoke, and the staff was extremely rude. On top of that, we were given a misleading offer and ended up being charged more than promised. I do not recommend this place at all. It’s much better to go to Koreatown, where the vibe is cooler and the people are genuinely friendly.

We booked a private karaoke room for our group of seven and had the time of our lives singing our little hearts out for three hours. Their karaoke system using the tv, mics, and provided tablet all worked great. And when we had a brief moment of connectivity issues with our mic, they quickly fixed it and we were back to scream singing 90's country songs in mere moments. They had a service button in our room for when we needed to request items from the bar. This button only seemed to work like half of the time, so we would try and order for the group all at once and getting buckets. The couple of times we tried to order anything but the buckets of beer, the orders were slightly wrong and a couple of us never got our drinks but it took so long to get any assistance that we just gave up. The private rooms are literally in the basement of the diviest dive karaoke bar. Which didn't bother us at all, just know what to expect.

We chose this place expecting a fun night and it was a mistake. From the moment we arrived, the security was unnecessarily hostile. At first the staff was fine, but everything changed when the owner showed up: rude, dismissive, and a treatment that made us feel uncomfortable and discriminated against An unpleasant experience from start to finish. I don’t recommend it; there are much better options in Koreatown with a better vibe and genuinely friendly people.

This place doesn’t deserve a single star. The owner is extremely rude, treats you like garbage, and even cuts your hours to fit another group. And that’s not even mentioning how hostile the security is from the moment you arrive. Don’t waste your time or ruin a night with friends here. I’m not picky, but don’t pay for such terrible service. As other reviews say, the owner is clearly discriminatory and the treatment is unbearable.

U need a new doorman who knows how.to.check age . If you are a guess please walk away when he s acting stupid for the sake of peace. My 3 times here and its been lame time after time. You must upgrade this. I love karaoke but not that I experienced. It's an entire experience from starting to end and u don't have it together with key elements of hospitality from the beginning to end. Up ur game.it happens. Time change u change with it. We expect more. I expect more for a karaoke experience from. The simplest to more extra it must be correct and pleasant. Neither

DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. The security is rude from the moment you enter, and the owner is even worse: hostile, rude, and discriminatory. They charge for everything per person, yet treat you like garbage; they can even cut your hours if another group shows up. I will never go back or recommend it.

I was here Halloween night 2022 with some friends. I’ve been here once before but that night will be my last visit and here’s why. The owner was at the bar. He was being rude to several different people. One example was that my friend was dressed as beast boy from the teen titans and the owner accused him of wearing black face and singled him out in front of the crowd using a microphone. It ruined his night. His hair and skin were green. It came off extremely malicious. There are too many other good karaoke bars where you can spend your money. I don’t recommend coming here.

Rented a private room for my birthday. We had a lot of fun. Pros: price, friendly accommodating staff, wide variety of drinks Con: the rooms are a tad small and don't really match the suggested party size. We had six ppl in a room that is reserved for 8. It was tight in there.

A great place to go when the city isn't as busy for fun karaoke, but you have to know the very real draw backs! The good: a. Really good song collection b. LOVE THE STAFF - awesome and fast c. Vibe - fun and chill and having a good time d. Pretty good drinks prices Why it doesn't get 5 stars: a. It can be kinda cramped in the public areas (small space problem) b. There sometimes is a tipsy/over-eager a guy (different guys) lounging around (probably practically lives there) stealing songs, bumming drinks off of people, and getting uncomfortably touchy with the girls of the group. At first it feels like being friendly, but then it gets weird. Go with a group to make sure it's fun and not concerning. Bottom Line: a. Great for - 3rd dates - Groups of friends - Slow days b. Bad for - Break ups - On your own - If you pick really awkward songs (thematically or things that don't have good sound for live singing)

Such a cute place! My friend and I were only going to stay one he but they had Bollywood songs also So we stayed two hrs and it is def a memory for life. The private rooms are super cute and we didn't even know how time flew. It would be nice to have newer Bollywood songs but it was crazy they had a couple they had. All the other songs great selection and the bathroom was super cool lit up and and overall totally would come again

Had a great time at Sing Sing!! I held my birthday party here and it was super easy. The staff were very communicative prior to the event and everything went perfectly for my reservation. We had quick service getting drinks to our room. The karaoke song selection was easy on an iPad and the amount of songs was perfect. The microphones worked well too. Everyone got to sing something they enjoyed and we had a great time! No surprises with payment either. Will definitely be back!

Karaoke bars are a really popular way for this city's dwellers to past the time, so when all the better spots are booked solid through the night and you need a last minute place to go, Sing Sing will likely have an available room. Imagine the stickiest little bar you could fathom with thin walls, employees who do not want to be there, overpriced shots, and the large song catalogues with the pages inside the sort of plastic binder sheets you used in high school, and you'll get an accurate picture of what Sing Sing is. It's more or less your standard karaoke bar, except stickier, more cramped, and without the efficiency of the karaoke bars in K-town. What I will say is that their song catalog was extensive enough to have all the songs we wanted to sing. I'm not sure if the songs are up to date, but I go to karaoke to sing the nostalgic music of my youth and not modern music. There was no service in the rooms to speak of, we had to brave the lines at the bar out front anytime we wanted more drinks.

Yes! I've finally found an "open room" karaoke bar in NYC! Such fun, highly recommend! The service and atmosphere were great and you don't have to get a room to sing, you can sing in the open bar!

Had such a great time there! Ended up getting one of the private rooms with a friend for 2 hours! It was about $15 per hour (because the room was for 3 people originally but that was the only room available at the time) and they had a bunch of songs to select from. I think it is usually around 10 per person per hour. The room was pretty small and was supposed to be for 3 people. However, it was perfect for just 2. I can't wait to go again!

Could use more space service weird no food though man. If they got finger food, it would be a different story

It was cold in the rooms and the bathrooms are dive bar perfect. Meaning that you definitely want to consider carrying hand sanitizer with you. It is great fun though and they have a wide catalog of music. The service is friendly and consistent.

Too much fun was had by all! We sang our hearts out all night! The atmosphere was so fun and friendly. There's some pretty cool artwork on the walls and the drinks are reasonably priced. If you love karaoke and fun, come here! You can even rent a private room to sing with your friends!

Waited over an hour to sing. That's okay, it's busy. But after being skipped over several times even after BEING PROMISED I WOULD BE UP NEXT. I'm sorry but I will never come back. Mood was ruined, and the disappointment is immeasurable. I can't reccomend a place that openly disrespects the clientele. SKIP THIS PLACE.

The rooms weren't that large. There wasn't as many songs of the genres I liked. Specifically underground hip hop, alternative rock, some less popular pop songs, and so on. The entrance is narrow which I don't like. It gets pretty crowded! There is two floors of rooms and there is a dingy vibe to it. The drinks are strong! Which made me happy. Service is quick and direct.

Love sing sing, it's the spot for late night karaoke. Very reasonably priced and they're cool with you bringing in outside food in private rooms! Great song selection and responsive staff.

ZERO. STARS. I've done a lot of karaoke in the city and this place was so unbelievably awful. I have never experienced such horrendous customer service in my life. The bouncer accused multiple members in our group of having fake IDs when we are all well over 21. He then proceeded to request $60 BRIBES to get back the IDs and get inside???? Once we made it into the space we were literally yelled at by the woman and man working karaoke and when someone in our party lost their phone THEY LOCKED THE ROOM AND WOULDNT LET US IN. She refused to fast forward security footage and made her sit down and watch almost the full hour before letting us back into the room to retrieve it. Not to mention the drinks are just plain bad and expensive. We were then OVERCHARGED and yelled at once again. Never coming back to this overpriced and sleazy dump.

Sing Sing has a steady crowd of locals, you come here to have fun, sing karaoke, receive great service right away, you are never waiting for a drink, and they have a vast selection of songs. The crowd is eccentric, friendly, it's always a great time here. Sing Sing has an unapologetic vibe, with memorable nights.

One of my all time favorite bars in the city! My friends and I come here whenever we want to have a really good night because it never disappoints. Super divey, local, loud, and fun. The drinks are always made really strong and the bartenders are attentive despite how crowded it can get. There are so many songs to choose from. The private rooms are fun but the bar area with public karaoke the is my favorite! There's always a lot of Taylor swift songs and pop songs that everyone gets excited for (especially me).

Had a great time at Sing Sing last weekend! It's the perfect vibe of dive bar meets Karaoke. The place was packed but we were able to get our drinks pretty quickly and had a blast singing the night away. I also love that there are signs up that say Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas is you" is allowed to be played once a night in the month of December... that's so good! Will be back next weekend for sure.

This place will over-charge your credit card and refuse to refund you after multiple emails. They're scammers -- stay away.

Go here if you want people that signed up after you to bribe the employees and sing ahead of you! We've seen multiple people slipping the person who manages the front bar karaoke money in order to sing first. We were there for an hour, there were maybe 7 people, and inexplicably, the same 4 members of a friend group that signed up way after us kept singing for the whole hour. It was like their own private concert! Good for them. You guys suck for this.

Went here for my brothers get together with friends & it's a pretty cool spot,a good selection of songs,they serve happy hour on weekends till 8pm which is ..the staff was always great..I will be back

RUN. This place was so chaotic and unorganized. I get it's a karaoke bar but the staff is non stop shouting across the bar and down the halls the entire time. They overcharged our party and included 20% tip on top of a convenience fee??? Even after that, the guy tried to get me to tip extra. They take bribes at the door from people underage but gave us a hard time with our real ids. Not to mention the staff is just outright rude and condescending.

I don't know what made me go here for karaoke for my birthday, but definitely not worth what I paid. Never checked on us after we got in our private room, charged us for more people than we had (policy and I get it, but like be real...shit happens and not everyone can show) - mind you, we had a reservation so it's not like we just showed up with a crowd of people AND it wasn't crowded when we arrived. Snotty receptionists who don't even look your way. Just get better management all around. Do better. 7.5/10 song selection. POC maybe go to a k-town for better service at karaoke.

One of my absolute favorite bars!! So much fun singing here, excellent bar tenders that know what they're doing, and a classic EV dive bar. Come here regularly and it's truly a neighborhood gem

Visited for the first time in a couple years and it was the same smiling faces behind the bar, fast service and fun, lively front bar, as always. We ended up booking a room and staying way longer than expected! Can't wait for the next time

Karaoke bars are fun... if you're a good singer or you have a enough liquid courage or the right group around you. Well I'm not a good singer, but with happy hour running until 9pm on Friday I'll take a couple of $4 angry orchards. The need to know: 1 bartender until 9. 3 screens with lyrics, 2 wireless microphones around the bar. Each song request is $2. Private rooms available in the back. Most people arrive after 10 so sing early if you don't like the crowd or prepare to wait 5-10 bad renditions from journey and others until your next chance to sing. Located between Houston and 14th st there are many options for transportation. M9, M14, M15, L, F trains

DO NOT GO HERE. WORST establishment I've ever been in. Literally every staff member had HORRIBLE attitudes, were condescending and impatient and managed to bring down the entire vibe of our night. We barely even did karaoke in our private room because we were so shocked at how disgusting they were. Unhelpful, careless, and unorganized.

The songs I sang? I cannot tell you. It's confidential. My songs are for Lisa. Only Lisa . . . We sang all night in a private room and it was very good, very good indeed. I learned how to use an iPad. My heart is loud through the mic. Gratuity of 20% was included which was nice because I could leave all my math at work. If you book a room for yourself and Lisa and Mark, you will get charged for 3 people for the night even if Lisa storms out because she is mad that you sang 7 Journey songs in a row. Anyway, how is your sex life?

-First Impression- Looks very grungy... -Service- Service was ok, although the pricing wasn't really explained well. The app they use on the ipad or song selection was explained pretty clearly, so that went fairly smoothly. There's a button (I presume in each room) to let the staff know you need them. The first time we pressed it, no one showed up after several minutes so we pressed it again and someone came in to help us shortly after. -Price- I think they charge based on a 10 person minimum. There were 8 people in our group and it seemed as though we had to pay for two imaginary people, but we weren't told this until AFTER we used the room... Again, not clear on that -Did Not Like- The inside of this place looks like some secret underground basement party in the 90s that you have to know somebody who knows somebody to get in. Kind of scary-looking, actually. -Noteworthy- Very good song selection, including a lot of recent songs and current top hits -Recommended?- Probably will not be back...

The man that works the door is absolutely awful. Literally said "get out" repeatedly when our time was up, and wouldn't even let us use the bathroom before leaving. 10/10 rude AF. If you want to spend a lot of money and leave feeling bewildered by their incredibly poor customer service, check it out. Anything but friendly. There are much better karaoke rooms in NYC!

On Saturday there was a rude nasty man shouting hateful words and saying he was going to rape people and he hate white and Jewish people. He was asked to leave the bar but was impossible to get him out. The tall security guard tried his hardest to get him out. He kept coming back inside to get him out even though the man didn't want to he is a friend of the bartenders that made it worse. His friend the bartender finally got him out. The tall security guard apologized for the man actions. While the short security guard was standing outside with the man joking with the rude man and saying he agree with the rude man about hating white people. I have been here 4 times and every time the tall security guard is on the vibes is there and he's very respectful but the short one always vaping and not checking I.ds letting anyone in. The drinks are horrible and the place needs to be cleaned the right way to bring a great smell. Good place to come sing just need small work. Shout out to the security guard and the young lady that was out there helping and apologizing to us. See you guys soon.

Sarah was incredibly rude --she gave our group attitude from the beginning (we were the only non white people at this establishment and we were the only ones who received her condescending remarks whenever we had a question) and by the end of the night, she was yelling at us after we questioned why she was overcharging us. Go to any other place because this place isn't worth it at all!

Came in for happy hour and was not let down. Half price drinks and half price private karaoke rooms was the best pregame. Definitely would recommend.

I've done karaoke a lot, and this place is by far the most sleazy, purposely manipulative spot I've visited. I was there with a few friends and we wound up with an astronomically high bill that was lowered seemingly arbitrarily when we pointed out that 1) no one had told us our time was up at any given point (which like, what? every other karaoke bar I've been to lets you know when your time is up and gives you the opportunity to either pay for more time or leave) and 2) that a very clearly drunk bartender had double-charged us for drinks. The manager was some dude with napoleon complex who ridiculously threatened to call the cops on my understandably upset friend when he dared challenge him about the bill. We wound up just paying so we could get out of there, which absolutely strikes me as the way they hope things work out. Beyond that, the speakers in the room were totally blown out, the mics don't have any covers on them (and are definitely not cleaned between uses), and the song selection blows. Do yourself a favor and go to literally ANY other karaoke place instead of this trash pile.

Enjoyed! What a cool concept. We got a small room so we could sing until our heart's were content without disturbing anyone else. Some of us in the room were way better than others, but who cares? Everyone had fun. Definitely, make sure they give you a controller that works well. Ours was glitchy and slow - thus eating into our rental time. However, the bar was well serviced, and everyone had a great time. The bathroom was less clean than I like to see, but we were there pretty late in the night, so I guess we cannot be too judgmental. It's tough to keep bathrooms up with drunk patrons, especially late into the night. Overall we had a great experience, and the system and a plethora of songs to choose from that met everyone's expectations and needs. I would highly recommend this place for a fun out with friends.

Now hold on here, Yelpers! Why you gotta slag off Sing Sing Ave A? Would you throw a bunch of Milo's Kitchen Dog Treats at a three-legged Alsatian just to watch him beg? That ain't right. And that ain't New York. I think some of you have grown soft and that you're killing off the city that I've spent decades of my life in. If you're going to dog on Sing Sing, particularly after the great and beloved Odessa sadly bit the dust, then you wouldn't last a minute if you had been around during MY time. Damned hipster kids. Always killing off the good spots. But NOT you kids who are filling Sing Sing with a great deal of energy. You're okay in Johnny's book. Of all the karaoke joints that have returned since the Before Times, Sing Sing has retained its allure better than any of them. It JUST beats out the trusted Planet Rose just a few blocks north, which is also sitting quite pretty, thanks in part to the pretty bartender who works there. Sing Sing is a welcoming place. You just have to know how to work it. The crowd didn't complain when your pal hit the joint one night and kept singing one Bee Gees song after another in his inimitable falsetto. And there were even a few ladies who slid under his arms shortly after his performances and whispered into your pal's ear, "I'll make you MY Gibb brother. And not the dead ones." Hot Whatever Summer? Well, your pal has been having it! Against all odds, Sing Sing -- with its natural commitment to the streets -- has managed to transform into a place committed to raw social energy and a bit of offsite hubba hubba -- if you know what I mean. Your pal often wonders if he's still got it. But then he gets invited home from a lady from Sing Sing and realizes that passion is beyond measure. You whipper-snappers need to get over yourselves and start being pro-active, if you know what I mean!

-Pro They have a good list of song selections, but that's debatable -Con The pricing for the karaoke private rooms isn't listed and they don't do a very good job at explaining the cost. We ended up getting a bill that was higher than we had anticipated and after we complained they lowered the bill, but the amount was still wrong. It's as if they arbitrarily chose a random number and hope that we wouldn't tell because we had been drinking.

Worst bartenders ever. Neglected half the bar, super slow, cost the bar and management a lot of money. Will not go back due to lack of hustle.

I love karaoke and I am always excited when I can get a crew on board to join me. I had 2 friends visiting from Philly, both avid karaoke goers. However, before we even got into the karaoke room we rented, the bouncer was a complete jerk to us. He claimed my friends, who have PA IDs, were using fakes. However, he didn't question my MD ID. Of course we were a bit taken aback considering all of us have been of drinking age for several years, and clearly had real IDs. So we were polite about it and they offered a second piece of identification, and we asked if he had a scanner or black light. He reacted so unprofessionally and rude towards them. I asked if there was a manager, which I hate doing because I don't like to question people who are just doing their job, but he was such a douche bag that it was hard for me to keep my cool. I ended up calling the number who had been texting me to confirm the reservation, and he said he was the manager but was off duty. By this point, the bouncer finally let my friends in but refused me at first because he thought I was calling the police... I was so mad because I knew we were about to drop close to $1,000 at this place and I was ready to take our business elsewhere, but half of my friends were already inside. Aside from this incredibly disappointing encounter, the music selection was great and we had a nice server named Greg. Everyone had a great time but I am not interested in returning.

Came here for the first time for my friend's birthday and it will be the last. The music selection is alright but it's the individuals that work here that ruined the experience, particularly the "security". We had a disagreement with one of the security guards (white, male, gap-toothed) who was a sensitive alpha-male that took it very personally. He refused to give me his first name to report him to management. Instead he slapped my phone out of my hands, yelled at us, forced his other pet security guard to escort us out, and stood behind the bar literally giving us two middle fingers like a child. Napoleon complex or high levels of estrogen? I still can't decide. Regardless I refuse to support a business that has such unprofessional, irate staff members, which multiple reviewers have already complained about.

I had a great time here with 3 other friends. We went around 8ish and left around 10ish. This is exactly what it looks like - a hole in the wall karaoke bar. We did not get a private room, we just hung out in the main bar and sang our little hearts out. We drank, we people watched and searched for the best songs in the big book of tunes. I honestly didn't expect anything more or less when I decided to come here. If you're looking for some fun and drinks, then you'll have fun no matter what. They have a bathroom! They take cards! $2 a song, $5 bohemian rhapsody. Enjoy!

I came here with a few friends and boy oh boy was I surprised. First I would like to thank my fellow yelpers that helped me find this place. Secondly, even though the night started with a slow start it had a good ending especially for a Tuesday night. The Happy hour prices are very reasonable for both the drinks and the songs. There's no food served her but you're allowed to bring in outside food and the pizza shop a few doors down comes in handy after a few shots. The song selections are good, tons of recent songs and a lot of my fave old school songs. The bartender was awesome, not only was she attentive but she through down when she sang. Lol and did I mention the happy hour specials that lasted til 9??? This place was a great time and I honestly can't wait to go back; if it was entertaining on a Tuesday just imagine a weekend! FYI Closet Train is the F train on 1st Avenue and East Houston unless you come by bus. Other than that, just be prepared to walk.

Again like the people over the last 2 weeks the doorman was very rude and screamed "get out" when there were over 2 people for our song, when literally there were 7 people in the same area singing Journey the song before and when I told him about that he said "i didn't see that" and said "do you understand English", terrible, racist experience

F*&K OUTTA HERE WITH ANY BAD TALK - THIS PLACE HAS BEEN HOLDING IT DOWN SINCE AT LEAST 2004 (that was my 1st time in). I am a singer. I always HATED karaoke. My nightmare is to listen to ppl who can't sing, sing on MIC and be drunk to boot. I met a fellow songbird who suggested we do karaoke together (she did it all the time) and we met here for our 1st round. I was TURNT OUT!! Keep in mind that karaoke is karaoke and we're in NYC, so if you come when it's busy, you'll get put in a big song cue full of other ppl or be forced to get a room. The drinks are no-frills, it smells like old bar in there...and it's PERFECT! This is the only bar in all of NYC that I can go at 5pm on a Tuesday, get a mic in my hand and work it out in song. SONG THERAPY! My girl and I always make friends at the bar and have the best time! Never a bad time at Sing Sing!

Friends recommended this place for karaoke. The place was kind of dingy had had a divey feel. The restrooms are sort of dirty but not so dirty that it was gross. The rooms were comfortable for the most part. They give you 2 books, one with song names in alphabetical order and another with artist names. As you know all asian places have english songs but not very often vice versa. We came with a group of around 6-7 people. We sang for a good 3-4 hours and got 3 pitchers of beer on a Friday Night. The total cost ended up being around 260ish. Not a bad place, probably not my first pick but I had a great time.
