Yelp
This place is absolutely adorable and I wouldn't change a thing as far as the décor goes. On both visits I've sat by the garage-style windows, which are opened on a sunny day. Nice location in historic Oregon City and they serve Stumptown coffee. Alas, my overall experiences have fallen into fair to middling territory.
My first visit was a weekend morning. Prime time for a place like this, and yet several menu items were not available. No quiche, no coffeecake and minimal bakery items (bagels, danish, etc.). Some of these are supplied by Marsee Bakery and not prepared on site. When I registered my surprise, the server told me the menu was a "guideline", but didn't mean that they had the items available every day.
So we had to go with our third and fourth picks off the limited menu. The Singer Sizzler and John Adams breakfast wraps, yogurt parfait and a danish. The food was actually fine, not great, and served within a reasonable amount of time. Our coffee, latte and hot chocolates also fell somewhere in the middle.
Second visit was for lunch. Service was a bit more leisurely, but the daily lunch special was a good deal. Vegetable wrap, chips, pickle and iced tea for $6.50.
On both visits, I felt that something was a bit off. Funny how you feel disappointed when a place 'almost' has it all together.
