Google
Loved the vibe of this coffee shop. It has so much space and a total vintage diner vibe because of the stools and the counter. The employees were really friendly and welcoming. The pastry options were amazing, everything looked so good! I got their Olive Oil Muffin which was perfection. I ordered their Golden drink which was really delicious and a total work of art. They have a nice enclosed outdoor area, a refrigerator filled with yummy to-go snacks and lots of drinksis well as some gorgeous merchandise. I am for sure going to come back to try one of their vegan breakfast burritos.

Google
Wonderful coffee shop with great vibes and delicious coffee. The food options are limited but everything is delicious. There is almost always a line on weekends but it moves fast and is 100% worth the wait. They also have super cute merch!

Visit after visit…simply PERFECTION!! Olivia is the sweetest. Today, 6.12.2025 my husband and I were out for a walk and we forgot our reusable mugs and I was in a panic because I will not use plastic or take away cups, but Olivia showed me they had pottery mugs and glass! She made my hubby an awesome Masala Chai with oat milk and my a Cold Brew with oat milk. All so good. Great seating. Excellent service. Thanks SINGING SUN…as always.

Google
Great chill place! Awesome coffee! We randomly hit this place on a road trip for a togo coffee , but we loved it so much, stayed around and enjoyed a few too many cups 😁 People are nice , place is clean , coffee if good, their pastries were also good! They also do sell beans too! Do expect a line probably on peak days but it moves rather fast! Cleanness: clean People: very nice Seating: a few outdoor some inside Noise: average noise! Parking: street, there is a lot in the back too Price: fair

Today was one of the worst and last experiences I will have at this location. Although the cashier was kind today (which rarely happens to my sister and me), the coffee is always mediocre. Anytime I get a latte it’s like I paid 7 dollars for a glass of milk. I kept coming back hoping it would get better and it did not. The main reason I would come here was because it was a short walk but I now know that I should prioritize quality over convenience. It also feels as though I am not welcome when I walk through the door which is odd because this location is on the avenue which is a majority Latino population. When I see the employees interacting with customers who are not people of color it looks like that is who they’re most comfortable with. I would not recommend coming here for the coffee or the experience especially if you are not white.

Google
Been on the search for a really great authentic Matcha. I came to Singing Sun based off of a recommendation from a friend. I ordered a Strawberry Matcha and their Matcha Latte, and both of them had no sweetness, really bitter and tasted like grass. If you come here, try anything else.

Norma R

Google
I was excited to try this new coffee shop but was very disappointed. Ordered an iced Strawberry Dazzler and received it hot. When I mentioned it to barista she was obviously upset and reluctantly remade it. She had a very poor attitude & made my family feel unwelcome.

Magdalena Rodriguez

Google
I really wanted to love this place. I waited in a long line to order my coffee. In the end I didn’t buy anything. All of their alternative milks have sugar. I don’t understand why a coffee place would buy sweetened alternative milk—it changes the taste of the coffee! Not everyone sweetens their coffee. More people are preferring alternative milks, so PLEASE let us sweeten our own coffee however we want—or not —just like those customers that use regular milk.

Yelp
I'm not considered a frequent flyer at Singing Sun but I am a weekend regular and I was highly disappointed today. I walked in a few minutes and the employee was reconciling the register. I immediately thought they must close at 4 pm today. She didn't acknowledge me, and finally after about 20 seconds I asked if they were closed. She continued and said no just handling the register. I waited and she the. Asked what I wanted. I ordered a hot americano. Simple. No coffee to brew. I sat for a moment ( long enough to take the photo) and the said "Americano." That was fast! Woohoo! I asked for Half/half and she handed me a container full with just enough for me. She did offer to get another, but I was good. The cup was too comfortable for me to carry. I knew immediately it was not hot. I opened the cup and took a sip of room temperature Americano. She said oh, something must be wrong with our water, do I want it iced?! No, I didn't and requested a refund, which was provided. I don't expect perfect service % of the time, but it's clear today everyone in the store was trying to close shop and get the heck out. Disappointment today. Headed to small town coffee shop

Asia E.

Yelp
total was $15 for two drinks we did not enjoy.,, matcha tasted like water and was a very light green color...and my chai tasted like if you lit a cinnamon candle near by and thought of a chai flavor :(

Yelp
I decided to venture out and try a new coffee shop today and I stumbled upon Singing Sun. A minimalist coffee shop meets Ventura, they even have cute swag for sale. Such friendly service, the girls were hustling as the crowd came in waves. I ordered the Golden. It has espresso, brown sugar, orange, and cinnamon. I thought I was going to be thrown off by the orange flavoring, but it actually balanced so well. I will definitely be back to try something else on their menu.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee shop, and I can tell you why in one word, Consistency. The espresso drinks are very consistent. I know exactly what I'm going to get here every time, and I like that. The espresso drinks here are made with care. The barristas take the time to accurately measure out the freshly ground coffee. The coffee beans they use here are good quality. The cappuccinos are always delicious. Delicious because the baristas here know their job and do it well. It seems to me that there is a fair amount of employee turnover here, but it doesn't matter. All the employees are clearly well-trained. They always have a friendly smile and are very efficient. That last attribute is important because this place gets crazy busy. It's not unusual for there to be a line out the door. That tells you a lot, because there are plenty of places to get coffee nearby with no line at all. The pastries here at Singing Sun are really wonderful. The Citrus Olive Oil Cake in particular is the bomb! If you see them in the case definitely do not fail to get you one! The Sugar Buns are fire too. Now, I'm not a Vegan, but I love Vegan-friendly businesses. And Singing Sun is definitely Vegan-friendly! They always have a really good selection of Vegan items for sale in their cold case. So many really delicious looking items! Singing Sun has a very inviting atmosphere. There are lots of places to sit, including a wonderful banquette along the front windows. There are a few tables, usually occupied by young students with textbooks or adults who bring their laptop trying to keep that "working from home" thing going. Another thing I love about Singing Sun is their merchandise. They sell all kinds of cool stuff, not just Coffee Beans and Coffee Mugs. There is a rack right next to the Cold Case that features upcycled garments that have been emblazoned with the Singing Sun logo. I have seen some fantastic items on that rack! So, yeah, all the above is why I love Singing Sun Coffee. There are probably 20 other coffee shops closer to where I live but this is where I like to go. Because they are so consistent, Singing Sun is my coffee shop. Mikey C says: thank you, Singing Sun!

Yelp
Nice place. Good pour. Wasn't too busy and found a spot in the corner and bike was next to me. Much appreciated for the coffee and pastry. I'd be back again real soon

Yelp
So happy to have this gem on the Avenue. So close to home I love it. Friendly staff. Beautiful interior design.

Yelp
their speciality lattes are delicious! not a fan of the name popper, but the idea of a honey & pink peppercorn latte was so enticing that i ordered it. peppercorn flavor could be stronger but still delicious. service was fast, and the cafe seems like somewhere i'd enjoy sitting in for a couple hours doing work.

Yeara C.

Yelp
For me, this place is between a 3-star and a 4-star. The ambiance is really chill and relaxed and the decor is gorgeous. It's a great place to sit and read/study for an hour or two. I've been here maybe 10 times total with friends over the past two years. The coffee: 7/10 The espresso is good-- if you get just a latte, it's great. However, their specialty drinks aren't that great and they're really expensive considering the amount of espresso is so low. It's mostly milk. Their matcha is pretty good-- i've gotten it a couple of times where it's too milky and not enough matcha (i need heavy matcha to be satisfied though so maybe it's a me problem). They also have small pastries and chia seed puddings in the fridge. Most of these are just okay in my opinion and they have almost zero pastry options that are vegan and/or gluten-free. Hate to see it. The space: 10/10 It's really pretty and it's a chill atmosphere with good music. The service: 5/10 Most of the time, when I've come in here with a friend or two, the people working the bar are unfriendly and do not greet you right away, if at all. A few have been friendly in the times I've been here, but majority of the times, they've been stand-offish. Like "better than you vibes." Just depends on the day and who's working. Overall, a cute place to get coffee if you're passing through. They have a shared back lot for parking and a few spaces in front for street parking-- both are free and unlimited, which is a plus.

Yelp
Finally stopped by the new coffee shop on the Avenue and was excited to try the matcha with coconut water on the menu it's the lucky charm. I unfortunately was very disappointed on this drink and this coffee shop. It was tasting like expired and the color was very off for matcha

Tiffany G.

Yelp
I've recently been coming to this spot and it's always a win for me. My go to drink is their central americano. Espresso and coconut water- the best drink combo I never would have even thought of! I get my caffeine fix while getting hydrated at the same time- fantastic combo. Another good choice, when I feel like having a little sweetness is their zinger. Kind of like a mocha but with a kick! It's the perfect amount of coffee- sugar- ratio with a sprinkle of cayenne that lights up your taste buds. Hence the name Zinger! Staff is always friendly and quick to serve. People are always there on a laptop or with a friend or book. The music is always tasteful, too. Way better than your average Starbucks.

Sam R.

Yelp
We typically go to Prospect when passing through Ventura but found this spot when driving down Main Street. This might have to dethrone Prospect because WOW was it good! I got a seasonal matcha drink which had coconut, oat milk, matcha, and honey (although I skipped the honey). It was soooo yummy and refreshing. My partner got an iced orange espresso drink that tasted like if an iced latte and a traditional chai had a baby. It was divine! There's also some cute little shops next door to wander through after your drinks. Loved it!

Shelby C.

Yelp
Outside: They have a few tables outside. So cute on the outside and so easy to get to. Inside: I went on a Thursday morning and it was so busy. I went to do some work and there was actually no tables open so I had to wait but that's okay! I didn't mind. It's good when a business is busy like that. It is cute in here too! Service/food: The coffee was good and staff was nice. They have pastries for you to buy too!

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Decently priced & good flavor The mocha still tasted like coffee & had the perfect combo of chocolate & sweetness The croissant reminded me of a calzone with cheese & pepperoni on the inside 10/10 Also even though there were a few people there we got our drinks pretty fast

Mc L.

Yelp
Deliciously earthy cold brew. Delightfully unpretentious baristas. This is the place for coffee in Ventura. There are others, sure. But this is the spot.

Alex R.

Yelp
Ordered the Central Americano (contains coconut water). I do not like coconut-esque things but thought the drink would change my mind. That wasn't the case. Their other drinks are probably fine. And there's a nice seating area by the window.

casie k.

Yelp
Still a 5 star review! And they're adding a new location! They keep their classic drinks which has kept me coming for years! Love that they stay original and the environment and staff are so welcoming!

Colette P.

Yelp
Good coffee and matcha Friendly staff and the inside of the shop is beautiful. Nice spot in ventura as well.

Kate B.

Yelp
Always love a trip to Singing Sun! Today I deviated from my basic iced oat milk vanilla latte, and tried the Good Fortune! It was tasty! The perfect amount of sweetness, you could really taste the honey and cinnamon. Service is always pretty quick and it's a great place to hang out and get some work done.

Thomas S.

Yelp
The inside is super pretty. The service was pretty good, unlike what the other reviews would lead you to believe. Howev I ordered four drinks for $25. Not a big deal at all, IF the drinks were good. They were not. Matcha Latte: No matcha flavor at ALL , basically all milk. Cold Brew: Earthy, not even remotely smooth. Basically like drinking potting soil. Chai Latte: Easily the worst of the 4. Weirdly bitter tasting, with no notes of spices or anything. You would get a better result by buying concentrate yourself and making it at home. Mocha: Not bad, at least compared to the others. Not to be snobbish, but for those prices and for their presentation as a 3rd-wave cafe, you would think that the product would be better, and the syrups would not be artificial and store-bought. I wanted to like this place, but vibes alone won't make the drinks taste better.

Suhani P.

Yelp
Loved this local coffee shop! Stumbled upon it on a random Sunday and really enjoyed it. I ordered a lavender majesty and it was absolutely delicious. I sometimes worry the lavender may be too overpowering but it was just perfect! The staff is very sweet and warm, despite how busy they were. There's seating but you may find yourself standing on a busy day. But it's a very pretty aesthetic shop!

Harvey D.

Yelp
Beautiful little spot very friendly, great barista coffee was excellent They look like they had some nice food as well although I did not partake but the mocha that they made me was perfect.

Yelp
Corner cafe with a nice modern vibe. I really liked my 'zinger' signature latte which included a ton of cayenne pepper and nutmeg. Definitely lives up to the name in that it woke me up. Not super balanced but I really enjoyed how you could pick out and savor the intensity of each of the key ingredients with some chocolate notes to round things out. I liked the creativity I saw in their drinks so I'll definitely be back to try more!

Gerry C.

Yelp
Came for a quick coffee stop and the ice mocha was delicious They have a limited pastry selection but the croissant we picked up was delicious. Service was great and the ambiance was nice. With a bright open space to just hang out

Madelyn S.

Yelp
Singing Sun Coffee caught my attention as I was walking along the sidewalk across the street. On a whim, I decided to catch a cup of coffee with my boyfriend. I ordered a hot latte to go while he got a mocha. I refrained from buying any pastries only because I had some conchas waiting for me! My boyfriend and I sat down together to try the drinks and were ultimately very pleased. He had tried a mocha from a new place recently and thought it was decent but changed his mind upon trying the one from Singing Sun as he liked their mocha a lot more! My latte was delicious and didn't make me jittery (which happens sometimes when my body doesn't agree with the expresso). There was a laid back vibe within the shop that I really enjoyed. I will definitely come back to try more drinks and get a chance with those pastries!!

Josh D.

Yelp
Love this place. Everything is incredible- staff is friendly. Ambiance is nice. Line moves appropriately. I only have one point of contention. Multiple times (at least 3, with 1 gift from my gf) I have gone in and asked for their beans to be ground for a French press. Unless I specifically ask them to do the grind "more coarse" they completely annihilate the beans. (Grinding more for a pour over then a french press) You can go to almost any site and find this out and yet the baristas continue to do it wrong. https://aboveaveragecoffee.com/french-press-grind-size/ is just a simple google search. If you're charging over 20 dollars for coffee, (and it's worth it!) knowing how to grind it for customers is a must. Happy to update the score if this is addressed.

Eric R.

Yelp
I had a delicious almond milk latte while listening to a good background soundtrack and surrounded by good vibes. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I easily found a seat with an outlet and wifi was fast. Good coffee, good vibes, outlets, and wifi are my criteria for a place I can go regularly. I'll certainly be back.

Dawn B.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come by this place forever! They are right on Main Street across from the Santa Cruz market and deli at Santa Cruz in Maine. The vibe is very cool. There's plenty of places to hang out and have coffee and enjoy your friends or your own company. But Rachel makes a mean Cornado, and so many people mess upcortado"s That I'm giving her 10 stars in this review. Friendly, warm, wickedly, good coffee what more can you ask for?

Kyle J.

Yelp
I got into singing Sun coffee a little over two hours before closing on a Friday afternoon. It was a good find for a caffeine fix on my way through town. There was a lot of seating and seemed to be a good place for reading or computer work from the looks of the customers. I had a iced latte and I would say it was about average and no complaints. It did look like they had specialty drinks and I wish I had more time to try another drink.

Eduardo T.

Yelp
It's a small coffee shop, and the aesthetics are nice. The guy who took my order was pleasant to speak with, but the other woman there... not so much. I used their restroom so I didn't hear my named called, when my coffee was ready. I sat down and waited a bit and just figured I would go check, there was a coffee there but I didn't know it it was mine, so I waited patiently for the woman to finish up a drink or whatever she was doing, but she never turned to look at me or anything but greeted two other customers that walked in... so I said excuse me, twice, to get her attention... I won't be coming back, the coffee is not that great, at least the nitro isn't. Service terrible, and their water station didn't even have water...

Erica G.

Yelp
We decided to try this place on Valentine's Day. Nice cozy coffee shop. I really liked the design of it. I loved my latte art but I did not like the taste of the coffee. I got it flavored for an extra .75cents. It just had a bitter after taste. Wasn't truly enjoyable for me. I got my latte with the regular 2 expresso shots and my bf got an extra shot. Glad I checked them out but after tasting so many lattes/cafes, this shop was not great. It's ok. Service was ok. It's a local favorite, you may enjoy it. For me it was just ok.

Christina W.

Yelp
We had great coffee here this morning. Delicious cappuccino with almond milk and latte with whole milk! Thanks for the superb coffee

Courtney A.

Yelp
This place is my FAV local spot. I usually get the good fortune and it is the perfect amount of coffee flavor and sweetness! The line is usually pretty lengthy but goes so quickly and they are so friendly.

Aeva M.

Yelp
I always stop up here when I drive up the coast and love it! So cute, great vibes and great coffee/ alternative drinks. They have great and creative (not too sweet/a bit healthier) drink options which I love them for. The staff was sweet and helpful as well!

Jeff L.

Yelp
Great 4coffee, a hot mocha and an iced latte. Latte lacked the flavors added though both coffees were the smoothest coffees we've ever tasted. The chocolate chip 2cookie flavor was only known by name. Overall rating for this first visit is 3. Great atmosphere, busy place with my most seating occupied. Nice there is for working in the cafe.

William K.

Yelp
The staff at Singing Sun and the coffee is by far the best in Ventura. The design of the space is also well curated.

Bailey P.

Yelp
Was very excited to try out a new coffee place that seems popular. My friend and I went and we were disappointed with the menu, it was very limited. My chai was ngl nasty. Customer service was fine, the lay out with the tables and chairs were very awkward. It was expensive as well and the cups were kinda small. It was also giving very millennial and I hated that. All in all I won't be coming back, glad I got to try it out.

Monica N.

Yelp
Still love this place! Online ordering is a breeze, I'm in and out with my drink in under 20 seconds. For AM caffeine, I love the americano, cold brew, or vanilla latte. For the afternoon wake me up, I order the iced chai latte or matcha latte with oat milk and vanilla syrup. Delicious!

Nia S.

Yelp
I've tried this place quite a few times and every time I hope that they will have improved from the last time. but I'm sorry the iced lattes consistently taste like straight milk and not enough espresso. I have tried everything from the good fortune that orange one and the lavender latte and all have taste like straight milk. I was so excited that a coffee spot was opening on Ventura ave but when I heard it was singing sun I was so disappointed. I did give the Ventura ave location a shot and they are consistent in making a latte that taste like a glass of milk for $7. so unfortunate.

Beshoy E.

Yelp
I have been here few times with my wife and this is one of ur favorite spots to come to. We love the coffee here. We usually get the lavender majesty which is super amazing!! You can't go wrong w this place! Service is always fast! Highly recommend it and will return in the future

Hayven C.

Yelp
really nice little shop!!!! it's cute and i liked the little shelf of merchandise by the register. i stopped in while my grandmother picked some things up from the market across the way and ordered an iced matcha latte. service was great!! i always appreciate when they ask you questions about how you like your drink, i'm not picky when it comes to sweetened vs unsweetened teas but today i opted for a sweetened matcha latte!!! it was delicious but my only gripe is the matcha wasn't whisked fully so there were a lot of chunky bits at the bottom that got stuck in my straw. otherwise i will be back when i'm in the area!!! i'm sure this was just a one off thing.

Jessica P.

Yelp
Absolutely perfect place to be! I just love everything about this coffee shop from the decor to the merch section to the fun fridge with fun drinks to the specials menu & friendly service! I can not say more good things about my experience here. I ordered a sweet & spicy drink which was so good and my husband had the lucky charm which was matcha based. Both SO good! Will be back many times over

Claudia A.

Yelp
I've always passed by this coffee shop and finally decided to give it a try. It was a very busy Saturday morning, as we order we notice the pastries and decided to grab a ham and cheese croissant the girl in the front handed of to us and we asked if they can be warmed up because who wants to eat a cold ham and cheese and she said they don't have any way to heat them which is so interesting because they sell hot burritos so those can be warmed up that was the first red flag following that we received our iced lattes which honestly were just a cup of iced milk for the price point I would've at least liked it to have some sort of espresso flavor or flavor in general. Glad I gave it a shot don't think I'll be back.

Emily B.

Yelp
The space was bright and welcoming. There were people enjoying time together and there was a good space for a small group. My coffee was delicious!

Claudia C.

Yelp
I loved the matcha. Definitely worth the drive from Oxnard to Ventura. The service was quick and the environment was cozy.

Suzi S.

Yelp
Adorable coffee space with the most delicious brews. The service is friendly and the space is light and airy and the coffee is outstanding. The line doesn't move fast, but still worth it.

Precious M.

Yelp
My husband and I love our coffee so we are on a journey to try every coffee shop in Ventura that catches our eye. I remember during covid we wanted to help local businesses so we ordered coffee to go once from this shop. We visited again recently and were greeted with a friendly smile and great vibes. The coffee was yummy and perfect for the cloudy day. We had Americano coffees. The aroma was slightly darker with Smokey notes with heavy strength which I what we wanted. Next time we'll stay in the building and enjoy the vibes.
