This Is the Hops Capital of the United States

"The taproom takes up a large corner block, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, lawn games, and hop bines growing next to a sidewalk. The brewery aims to highlight the many types of hops grown throughout the Yakima Valley, whether those are staples, such as Citra and Strata, or experimental hops. There are 24 beers on tap including fresh hop brews, hoppy IPAs, lagers, and fruited sours. Bring a picnic to pair with a pint, or try a new dish from an on-site food vendor." - Molly Allen

Where to Eat and Drink During Yakima’s Fresh Hop Ale Festival | Eater Seattle

"As further testament to Yakima’s burgeoning brew scene, Single Hill Brewing Co. opened downtown in summer 2018. The taproom is furnished with long tables to promote socializing and descriptive menus and offers the brewery’s handful of solo concoctions (a fan favorite is the hoppy Eastside IPA, naturally) as well as collaborative beers with other local breweries. To counteract the brews, Single Hill also has local Basalt Roasters cold brew on tap. It’s a social space with an emphasis on quality, education, and community." - Alisha McDarris

We had a very enjoyable experience recently using Single Hill Brewery for our daughter & son-in-laws 15th wedding anniversary party! We had a group of nearly 75 total, including children & we had rave reviews from all of our attendee’s. I truly enjoyed working with manager James Stahl through the entire course of pre-party planning as well as his assistant Anthony on the night of our actual event! James was very accommodating as the size of our group grew from 50 or so originally, to nearly 75 at the end. They helped us with reserving tables, up front parking to bring things in and plenty of time for us to set up & tear down our event. No one was rushed & we could enjoy time with our guests. Our guests were well cared for in a timely fashion & everyone enjoyed yummy cold brews & other available drinks on what was indeed a very hot, hot day. To top it off, we also enjoyed using the catering services of the on site taco truck Javi’s which provided hot, plentiful & delicious meals in a coordinated fashion. They accommodated my specific requests & were extremely easy to work with. We highly recommend Single Hill & Javi’s for any size event & would use them again in a heart beat. Thanks James, Anthony & staff & Alberto from Javi’s for a very pleasant evening with family & friends. 🩷

Great service, multiple samples to find the right taste. Great beer! Mexican food cart outside was fantastic and decent prices! Nice outdoor seating! Highly recommend!

Google
The staff and ambience were great, the beer was delicious, and they had a simple, tasty menu. Fabulous outdoor space. My dog definitely appreciated all the grass after a hard week of climbing around in the mountains! Also, plenty of parking if you're pulling a trailer.

Google
Love the beer, can’t wait to visit the brewery. I got a bad batch of cans in a 4-pack that killed my vibe at home. Frozen Fresh Hop IPA. I needed to bend back the tab on the first can, second can needed a hammer and punch. Hopefully I was the only recipient of these malfunctioning cans.

I tried six breweries during my most recent trip to the Pacific Northwest, and this one was by far my favorite. For starters, the service here is phenomenal. Eric, my main bartender both times (yes I went twice it was good), was awesome. He took the time to walk me through the different beers and gave me his opinion of them. Every other person I interacted with that worked there was super nice. I ended up getting three different flights with how great the beer selection was. Every single beer tasted good and had its own unique taste. Thunder Juice was my favorite! If you’re a beer lover passing through Yakima this is a must stop!

Google
Always kind, great selection of beer and always a Root Beer on tap. Great coffee, atmosphere, and overall a positive experience every time we go.

Google
This was one of the top places to visit in downtown Yakima! It was perfect for the caffeine fiends and brewski connoisseurs! Thank you for hosting our multiple pit stops for all our coffee, taco and craft brewing needs!

Google
So glad to find this spot on our road trip. Yakima didn't seem to have many options and thankfully this popped up. Huge outdoor area with misters and dog play areas. Super dog and kid friendly, so it was a perfect spot for a stop. The beer is really good and I wish we'd bought more than we did to go. Staff is friendly and helpful. The food vendor they had (Unicycle something?) was really good too, great sandwich and potatoes. I recommended this to our friends who live closer to make sure they stop the next time they pass through, I know we will certainly stop here again.

Yelp
Was passing through Yakima and stopped by after hitting up a local taco truck. This is a cool place with a great vibe, a large outdoor space and a wide selection. The server was amazing and had some great recommendations for me to consider. Whenever I go in to a brewery for the first time, I like to ask the server what they are drinking currently and got the recommendation for the West Coast IPA. It was phenomenal and I can't wait to visit their location in Seattle.

Yelp
I love this brewery. It's close to downtown so easy to walk to when visiting. Great beer, love that they support all communities They have lots of merch, fun art on their cans and loads of seating.

Lizzie L.

Yelp
I love love love this place. Especially now that Catalyst Coffee is here and I can enjoy it during summer mornings.

Yelp
Fantastic brewery. I'm not even a big beer guy but glad they had some slushes to accommodate that. Peers loved the beer here. Great space for medium sized groups, clean restrooms, and not overly loud so conversation is great. Both indoor and outdoor seating. They also have nice quality, thicker straws for the slushes that seem reusable. Self serve water has both still and sparkling which is great. Scary Peachy Wine Slush - delicious slush that feels quite literally like a wine turned into slush. Fruity and sweet but alcohol is still very apparent. If it weren't for brain freeze, I could down a few of these. Freaky Tiki Lemonade - this slush does not have alcohol but they can add rose for extra. More sour as it is lemonade. I prefer the peachy wine over this, but if lemonade is your thing, this is a great option.

Yelp
Wide assortment of locally brewed beers and ciders. Staff was helpful with beverage selections. Looks like you can bring in your own food and dog friendly. Have different activities for different nights-trivia, bingo, etc. Pretty standard brewery room setup. Right downtown

James S.

Yelp
Good beer. Servers were friendly and able to help my wife with her picky tastes . Watched some playoff football in between scratching some friendly doggie's ears.
google avatar

Yelp
Enjoyed a three-taste flight and a glass of wine on the patio, perfect weather. There was a pop-up food stand serving made-to-order sandwiches. Live music in the evening. *Nothing* to complain about though I do wish there were a few more menu options, specifically snacks (e.g., tots, fries, maybe popcorn) to enjoy with our drinks, but we had a lovely time.

Yelp
This place still has good beer but my lord they are WOKE and annoying about it, not helping anything with that guys.
google avatar

Dan B.

Yelp
Nice outdoor space when the weather permits. Beer selection was limited, the grilled cheese I ordered was delicious, but the tomato soup was sub par.

Yelp
Currently enjoying my 4-pack of "Fresh Luck" 2023 Fresh Hop IPA. Highly recommended. Will return whenever we revisit Yakima.

Yelp
A great brew stop, when in Yakima, you can also find their beers at some of the pizza places around the Seattle and East areas. We stopped by for one of my coworkers to pay off a bet, which always makes the beer taste even better.. right?!? It was Tuesday and trivia night, we found out where the action was in downtown Yakima, everyone enjoying the trivia, along with the friendly service and tasty beers, choices for just about anyone's palate, plus ciders and wine. Atmosphere was fun with lots of ahhhs, as the trivia played on, a great fire pit to chill by on a chilly night as well. A definite stop for any beer connoisseur. The passion fruit sour was really delicious and tropical, worthy of taking a four pack to go. Service and people were all friendly and welcoming. Fire pit on a busy night was a great place for conversation with the trivia question going on in the background. Must try when in Yakima or if you're in the one pizza places locally, check them out. SYOY! Cheers!

Yelp
Friendly, fast, & good beer, but not as exhaustive a beer list as published online. Interesting backdrop of a trivia game. Nice lights & mellow music with outdoor seating options for the quieter environment.

Yelp
Single Hill Brewing is one of the newer breweries (at least newer to me) that I paid a visit to on my last trip to Yakima. I really like the location for this brewery as it is centrally located... right in the downtown area.. and has a spacious and sleek looking taproom. The beers Steven and I had here was on the lighter side of the beer spectrum. Steve got a pilsner and I'm always a sucker for a cerveza style beer so that is the option I went with. The beers were very good... very refreshing and perfect for the warm climate ( at the time, it was summer). Single Hill was a very enjoyable spot as we toured several craft breweries in Yakima.

Ron L.

Yelp
Awesome brewery and beer. Cool people, and good prices. We came in 20 minutes before closing and they offered excellent service with delicious tasters and a pint before they closed. I grabbed some additional cans to go. Great brewery.

Yelp
The owner, Ty, is amazing. This place has a great ambiance, is kid friendly, and has an excellent beer and merch selection. They were so friendly and informative. We can't wait to go back
google avatar

Yelp
I like this spot! The brewery is huge, very open concept with lots of outdoor space as well. I had a Pilsner which was light and crisp. They also had a food truck. This is definitely a popular spot, I'd recommend checking it out.

Yelp
From the Fort Collins mega micro brewery area. And this place is for real. Great knowledge staff great beers
google avatar

Mollee C.

Yelp
This place was amazing! The beer was clean and crisp. Hands down best beer in Yakima. The staff was great and very informative. Had great outdoor seating and even had water misters to keep you cool on these hot summer days. If you have dogs, they offer a dog area with grass and doggy bags. A must try in Yakima
google avatar

Stephanie E.

Yelp
Excellent beer! Excellent location! Excellent service! This place is pretty huge. Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. They also host a taco truck frequently that is so yummy! We tried 3 different beers, and all were great! Their flagship IPA (can't remember the exact name) was my favorite! Dog friendly on the patio. Kid friendly inside with a kids play area. What more could you ask for!? Also, gotta love their Single AF merch!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice setting, good selection of beer. The server was rude and stone faced. Not a pleasant experience. Will definitely stay away from her on my next trip.

Yelp
Excellent beer. We had four people and everyone enjoyed their beer choices (very good ipa's). Only disappointment was that there was enough cider on tap for one glass???!!!! Staff also very nice. Reasonable prices. The food truck was also pretty good. We had a really nice evening on their very large patio to enjoys our beers and gourmet hot dogs

Maureen L.

Yelp
Great beer and ambiance! Excellent food trucks. A fun place to take visitors. Lots of outdoor seating for the good weather.

Nicole L.

Yelp
Stopped by yesterday during the day and was welcomed by the super helpful bartender (didn't get his name!) and Keena the dog. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating and really nice indoor decor and patio area. Beers were great- had a flight and a pint. Only complaint- I wish there were more than 3 in a flight! Will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Karen V.

Yelp
Great place to work and drink the day away. Great watermelon cider. Great beer. We will be back.

Yelp
Excellent beer in an open and architecturally pleasing environment. The outdoors is nice too with lots of tables, a water spritzer set up for hot days, and alternating food offerings. The downside here is that the staff isn't enforcing any boundaries - for example, an off-leash Doberman Pincher was running around inside. I had to repeatedly pick up my small dog to get it away from the Pincher, there were lots of "Sorries" from the owners but the dog remained off leash. And this was after a family with two young girls were running around the whole interior and shrieking and screaming... really piercing! The parents didn't do anything and neither did the staff. I love dogs, I love children, but it seems anything goes here. I finally went outside where things were temporarily peaceful.

Yelp
So, we were late to the party on this one, but better late than never! I remember hearing about the guys starting this spot and thinking about what a cool use of an old tire shop it would be. They have blown my expectations out of the water! Straight up, this is as cool a place as we've ever been, including any college town we've been to! They sit across from the Season Performance Hall, so there's no reason to not stop in circa a show! They have indoor and outdoor space that's more than adequate - inside is seating for 50 or so with tons of tables, both counter height and normal. Outside they've got tons of picnic tables as well as some counter tops to stand around. Inside and out are plenty of kids activities, including a sweet play area inside in the corner! Outside are cornhole boards with beanbags (read projectiles!) that the kiddos loved. The beer selection is pretty vast with no less than 2 dozen options. Included in those were IPAs - clear and otherwise, ambers, and sours. Flights of 3 are available as well. They've also got a local cider, local cold brew and some non-alcoholic options. Food trucks chill outside and offer different options for abound throughout the week. You'll find that everything pairs well with a hazy IPA! This is as cool a spot as we've been and reminds us of places in Portland, Seattle and any other metropolitan area you can think of...it's phenomenal to have them here! We're enamored and think you will be as well!

Yelp
Good beer. Nice staff. Clean. A couple off dogs that took me a minute to get used to. A lively block behind what seems to be an abandoned downtown mall.
google avatar

Carrie R.

Yelp
We didn't even stay to try anything. We came in and we're going to try different beers but the girl behind the counter was zero help and seemed very put out by us asking about flights so much so that we didn't feel comfortable even asking about any of the beers. We were so put off that we just left which is to bad because it seemed like it may have been a nice place.
google avatar

Norm H.

Yelp
Great place and super kid friendly. We often enjoy the food truck for a quick, delicious bite. Our daughter loves the play area and the chance to play with other children. Another bonus is that it is dog friendly. Children, dogs, adults, food and fun. Only complaint: they need to bring back Work Beer! Work Beer! Work Beer!

Peter V.

Yelp
Amazing beer. Awesome people. Well run! Love the little details like the diaper station in the bathroom and kids area!
google avatar

Meg L.

Yelp
Love the tart beer, only $5.50 and great ambiance. I will definitely come back here to drink or hang out.

Yelp
So we've had two negative experiences here, I decided to write a review after the second experience because it had to do with integrity and not the service. I would also like to say, for the most part I've enjoyed coming here and quite enjoy their selection of beer. Most recent experience was on their one year anniversary. My mom night two beers which totaled $16. She hit the "no tip" button on the iPad and left a cash tip of $3. A week later she looked at her statement and noticed that she had been charged $19. She called them and explained that it wasn't about the money it was about integrity. The gentleman was super apologetic and said he didn't understand how that happened. I then remembered that when I went to have my receipt sent to me another phone number populated. At the time I thought nothing of it but after my moms incident Ive become very suspicious. Overall, it was disappointing and made me trust this business a lot less. All of that to say, CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS and TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR TRANSACTIONS!!!! The second incident was when we had first moved two blocks away... SUPER excited to have a place to hang out at next to our new digs. We went in for the second Seahawks preseason game and we're greeted with a flat "no" and "it's not happening tonight" We were a party of four ready to sit, eat and drink for the next two hours. She then said "It's not the vibe tonight" and laughed. She told us that they try to avoid that before the season starts. I'm not sure what that means other than "we do our best to profit off of that season when it comes but don't show up and ask before then cuz we actually don't care about football" maybe reading too much into it because she refused to turn on the tv... either way, I left salty and after these two incidents don't plan on coming back.

Yelp
Excellent family friendly brewery! They have a great little kids corner to entertain the kids while the adults enjoy the tasty beer!
google avatar

George T.

Yelp
Really good beer and comfortable place to hang. The food truck in back is a great touch. Great stop when traveling through Yakima.

Youngmee K.

Yelp
Beer selection was fun to sample Need more hazy pale variety Atmosphere spacious and clean Service was good Korean food outside was good but pricey for a small bowl
google avatar

Whitney W.

Yelp
A great new addition for Yakima. You can tell so much thought went into their location, and their beers are awesome! Definitely recommend Eastside IPA!

Kris W.

Yelp
Single Hill is large and friendly, with expansive seating areas inside and out. Shade provided over much of the outside seating. Super dog friendly, with a dog-bag station and small grassy area for dogs to potty. Dogs are allowed in the building as well as in the patio area. Beer was excellent. Food was tasty and reasonably priced from onsite vendor (Unicycle, I believe); husband and I paid under $20 for our lunch.
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Amazing. What else can I say? It's our favorite place to chill as a family or hang out with friends.
google avatar

Sian T.

Yelp
Beautiful place, great vibes. Very family friendly. Go try their delicious beer and talk to their wonderful bartenders!!

Carly B.

Yelp
Awesome atmosphere, outdoor area was amazing. It felt very relaxing. The staff was super nice and the beer was great. I would definitely come back.
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
This brewery is pretty cool. There is a fantastic vibe with two floor to ceiling glass garage doors opened up to their fenced in patio. The ceilings are really high with rustic exposed beams and they host different events on different nights if the week. Dogs are all allowed so there are several dogs hanging out playing together. There's a kid friendly area, they let you try different beers and all the staff is awesome! I'll come back every time I'm in Yakima!
google avatar

Mary B.

Yelp
Wonderful wonderful wonderful! Haven't had such GOOD beer in a long time. Tasted six beers and was thoroughly impressed with all of them. Favorite was the barrel aged saison and the Erik the Dank. Zomg...so good! Great atmosphere...indoor/ outdoor seating...dog/kid friendly (lawn space for dogs...corn hole...kiddo corner with toys) Got a nice industrial meets outdoor law vibe! Will be back! Staff is friendly.
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
Nice establishment with great outdoor seating and good beers. I was able to enjoy rotating hazy ipa from Georgetown
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
A new go-to place when we're in Yakima. Love the farm beers and the Eastside IPA is to die for. The taco truck (5 Salsas) so also top notch and very reasonable. ($2.00 tacos & $3.00 quesadillas! They have a parking lot and outside seating, plus free games like cornhole if you're so inclined.
google avatar

Nic J.

Yelp
Best beer, best atmosphere, best people. This is an all new must in Yakima. They are just making solid beer in a great space. Service is super friendly and knowledgeable, taco bus out side (5salsas) is fantastic. Kid friendly. Also they have awesome events!
google avatar

Brian N.

Yelp
Fabulous beer selection, had an opportunity to check them out at both the Sunnyside Summer Ale Festival and at their taproom in downtown Yakima. Different styles and a few collaborations with other breweries in the area (fun to see the industry working together), all the beers I had the opportunity to try have been excellent. The taproom itself has a great feel to it and with the big and well-shaded outdoor space this will be a fun place to hang out after work / on the weekends with friends and family. Look forward to visiting often!
google avatar

Barry S.

Yelp
Great space and ambience, friendly staff, seriously great IPAs - as well as a good selection for the non-hopheads (like my partner). Oh, and the 5 Salsas food truck was a definite bonus. I can't say enough good things about Single Hill! The only thing I could ask for is, "When will you open a pub in Seattle?!?"
google avatar

Joey C.

Yelp
The beer is phenomenal and the staff and atmosphere was great. The food truck outside had some of the best food on wheels!
