Best Gay Bars in Washington, D.C. According to Eater Editors | Eater DC
"The newest spot on this list, this queer and trans BIPOC-owned and operated bar is located right on Adams Morgan’s nightlife strip. With the tagline of “For the Girls, Gays, & Theys,” the bar hosts a diversity of inclusive events, from “kink and draw” to Desi drag night." - Evan Caplan
This is a sweet spot. It's the only sapphic friendly "queer bar" I've come across in the city that's majority LGBT patrons and clearly targeted towards an exclusive group. Vibe is fun and youthful, the dance floor is small but atmospheric. Wonderful, freeing environment, and a great place to whip out your alternative outfits. Sick DJs too. We need more spots like this.

I celebrated my birthday at Sinners and Saints by booking an event. The service was spectacular and it’s a great venue for a small event! The drinks were well made and the bar staff were attentive. I can’t wait to celebrate there again!

Anytime someone asks for recommendations on a spot to go, I’m always mentioning Sinners and Saints. Fun events with great DJs, plenty of free events and reasonable priced tickets, drink specials, etc. Above all, you can feel an amazing community surrounding this spot. Truly amazing people here. One of my top favorite spots!

This is probably the cutest spot in DC! The whole team clearly puts so much work into creating a sweet and welcoming environment. The cocktails are fantastic and they book the BEST DJs. I love love love this bar!

This place a great vibe that allows for a casual conversation or a solid dance. The bartenders are very friendly, especially spike and Jazmine, but DJ Auroruss the true highlight of the bar. The ambience that he cultivates is amazing!

Walked in with a bunch of “straight friends” was told it was a private events. Security at the door let us in no problem. As we were walking out we over heard someone say anyone that looks that that down let them in. We will stick to trade and number 9

Come dance. Come drink. Come gather. This bar has incredibly friendly staff and a youthful energy. The DJs are always spinning good dance music. The crowd is fantastic. I think of this as an elevated edgy queer dive bar.

Yelp
The bartenders were amazing! The dj and music were also such a vibe. She played so much Latin music which I loved! She also gave me a free drink card because we were dancing all night. The drinks were good as well, not too strong for a gay place, if you know you know. I had a cute drunk time. The owner was real sweet and we made a couple friends inside. Def a new LGBTQ+ friendly spot that I will be visiting more often. I loved the writing on the wall and the lighting inside. I will be recommending more of my gays and girls to come!

Yelp
Tried to go here yesterday with my boyfriend and another gay couple that was visiting us from Los Angeles.
We were carded and started to walk toward the bar. We were abruptly stopped and told it was a private event by staff. We questioned why there was no signage orwere told by the person carding. We were then pushed to the door and as we were leaving, we heard "if they look like that they can't come in". As both couples are pretty masculine presenting.
Well, the couple we were with, one is the head of LGBTQ content for Buzz feed and the other works for Out Magazine. This was a leisure trip to DC, but looks like they have a new topic for an article. Prior to us getting in our uber to hit the other gay bars. They both took about 15 mins to shoot some content outside.
Sad, because we were treated with love at Trade and Number9.

Yelp
Wouldn't recommend to lesbians. I got hit on by a dude during dyke night. I felt uncomfortable and went to the bar to close my tab, I saw the same dude come to the bar and start dapping up all the bartenders. Sorry but it's pretty obnoxious to literally pay a for a ticket only to get harassed by a man at DYKE NIGHT and then see that he's clearly an embraced character in the establishment. Just a low vibrational space and I'm not impressed.

Yelp
A cute neighbourhood bar with friendly staff! I appreciated the fun glasses and the presence a of a cocktail menu which is usually not found at dance bars. I got an avaition-like cocktail and really enjoyed it! I would definitely recommend this over Pitchers if you're in Adams Morgan. It took a while for the dancing to get going on the night I went but I would guess that this varies depending on the event.

Yelp
This is my go to place for dancing. Every time I've been here, the DJ has been amazing. Great energy and vibes no matter how many people on the dance floor
