Downtown LA’s Extravagant Sinners y Santos Nightclub Features Live Wrestling Matches - Eater LA

"Meant to be the anchor of the entire Level 8 project, the Houston Brothers have brought their brand of Hollywood nightlife to Downtown LA in Sinners y Santos, an impressive Gothic cathedral-looking nightclub and lounge decked out with stained glass, DJ booth, table service, and even live lucha libre wrestling matches. It’s a wild experience that opened last weekend with surprise DJ guest the Chainsmokers (who are currently in residency at XS in Wynn Las Vegas) and wrestlers going at it on a stage suspended above the bar. The Houston Brothers are behind places like La Descarga, No Vacancy, Break Room 86, and Good Times at Davey Wayne’s, creating a distinct flavor of bars and clubs with entertainment from dancers, live bands, and now, wrestlers. The bars also often feature better-than-expected cocktail menus, though they’re not tethered to high-end mixology. Here at Sinners y Santos, veteran barman Devon Espinosa creates drinks like La Tropica Toxica or St. Marguerite which both feature flaming elements on the drink. As for the interior, there’s gorgeous stained glass, ornate woodwork, marble counters, velvet lounge seating, and a church organ as the DJ booth, Sinners y Santos adds to the Houston Brothers’ streak of striking ambiences — making it perhaps their most ambitious. Like every other Houston Brothers space, Sinners y Santos features a trompe l’oeil entrance that they hope to keep a surprise. The only other thing to consider is how to get into the club. There’s no cover like other Houston Brothers spots, but those wanting to secure entry can RSVP through the email line. Otherwise, there’s the standard queue at the door, but those waiting can get tacos from Brown Sheep, or load up ahead of time with a meal at any other of the other Level 8 eateries, including Mr. Wanderlust, Lucky Mizu, Qué Bárbaro, and Maison Kasai. Sinners y Santos is only open Thursday to Saturday, 10 p.m. to 2 a.m." - Matthew Kang

Brian, head of security is so nice!! My friend lost her phone and he was very helpful! His security guard Chase was awesome and found the phone. SINNERS Y SANTOS was so fun!! I loved the atmosphere and the music it was a good mix of dancing and seating areas. The bathrooms were very nice. THEY HAD A WRESTLING RING ABOUT THE BAR!!!

I have been to this place at least 20 times and always brought large groups of friends with me and spent thousands of dollars however last night there was this terrible door guy at the club entrance and would not let us in but did let many others in. He would just randomly pick people and ask them for credit card and $200 weird and shady while others could get in for free. This was not a case of any guest list or anything and ive never had that issue before and we've spent an hour observing him. It was just whatever he felt like. So messed up to only require few people to pay and ask for money up front to get in. He lied and said everyone needs to pay so club can make money. We refused to do that as it felt super suspicious and weird so he told us to step away while letting hundred of people in relatively fast without paying. We were stunned. He was not checking any reservations or anything just letting in while maybe every 20th person he'd stop and argue with them and ask for money. Super shady and dissapointing.

Really cool place! I dig the church concept. There also was some entertainment at midnight... My favorite part was probably the huge bass system they had 🩷 Everyone seemed like they were having fun

Google
Great experience here! From the doormen to the staff upstairs - great vibes ambience and music the cool thing is you can bar hop inside the space there are several bars and clubs on the same floor! Definitely coming back!

I entered this establishment with high expectations, captivated by its exquisite beauty and intricate details. The ambiance, a dark and brooding aesthetic, was particularly appealing, and the door staff greeted us with commendable friendliness. However, the experience was marred by the in-house staff’s lackluster engagement. Despite their striking attire, the staff members’ indifferent demeanor and lack of smiles detracted from the atmosphere. Their presence felt more obligatory than enthusiastic, which could discourage patrons from partaking in the offerings, such as reserving a table. Moreover, the bartender positioned near the main attraction—the stained-glass windows—was notably unhelpful. When requested to craft signature drinks, the response was unaccommodating, without any attempt to suggest alternatives. My visit was disappointing, which is regrettable given the venue’s potential. I urge the management to prioritize staff development or consider restructuring the team to ensure that the quality of service matches the establishment’s aesthetic promise.

Google
So over the top in the best way possible. Watching wrestlers perform while sitting in a pew is a surreal experience. Drinks were good and staff was friendly. Dance floor music is meh, but not a problem when overall the place is this good.

This place is so DOPE!!! Wash away your sins while you party. Level 8 and so amazing and this place the the best spot to finish your night. The best DJs, Diplo, Chainsmokers etc play here! The wrestling show is awesome. Must go!

Yelp
I had an office party at this location, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The bar is enormous, featuring a lovely outdoor patio that offers a fantastic view of the Staples Center. The drinks were great, and they have WRESTLING!!! Winning!!

Yelp
Came here for NYE celebration. The venue was hosted by a third party so it was a little chaotic as no one knew where anything was. In terms on the club itself - it's your typical club with bottle service tables, dance floor and 2 bars. It's a pretty fun place. The club backs to a sizable outdoor area with a view of downtown LA which is very nice! The entrance is on the side (around the corner from hotel valet). You can stay at the AC or Moxy hotel and it's a short walk to this club depending on where you are.

Yelp
We came here on Friday night after having dinner at Que Barbaro! The entrance and venue is esthetically beautiful but different. We got here early so people were trickling in, we didn't stay long so didn't get to see the wrestling. The bartenders were great, polite, and drinks were well crafted and delicious. We'll definitely be back with family and friends!

Yelp
What in the Mucha Lucha is going on here!?!? lol I had so much fun at Sinners y Santos. Came here after eating dinner at Que Barbaro and was first in line. Granted they need to make an official line because people just walk right up. So if you're scared go to church! It's themed like an old church Inside so I definitely took my ass to the confessions booth which is actually a Photo Booth. It's a cool spot but a little tight. Not a lot of dancing room but my friend and I made the best of it. I had never been here nor have I looked it up but was surprised when the red curtains came up and they had a whole wresting ring on top of their bar! It was very entertaining. Music was good drinks were good but the be careful they add an extra 20% tip.

Yelp
I like it here! We come pretty often because I don't live too far away. I had a table for me and three friends. We left and went to the bathroom and returned to a bunch of random older people in our secetion with our alcohol. My friends who came in with us were stopped when trying to go back to our table by a bouncer standing near our table. However, they let in a whole group of 8+ people in their 30s to our section, when we are girls in our early 20s who were very clearly not with those people. I think there needs to be more security to ensure sections are not being invaded. When i asked the people to leave, they refused and i had to find a bouncer to tell them to leave. Not the best first experience with having a table, but lesson learned!

Yelp
This place is unreal. Took my ass to church! And a lucha libre fight, holy smokes. Houston Brothers really outdid themselves. Run, don't walk to Level 8.

Yelp
I went yesterday for a Brazilian event and since I love the culture I was very excited, but we went inside the sinners and the Brazilian girl was amazing I loved it ! but the DJ apparently called Charan, first of all, awful playlist I know you guys can hire better DJs and second he was sooo rude to the other djs he wanted to be the only one playing but they had another dj to play still for the theme party of the night but he couldn't since this Charan guy wanted to be the main attraction, everyone started leaving right away ! Very disappointed. Level 8 is great and the sinners as well but with Charan as dj I am never going back

Yelp
Visited this place last night. First, you can't take reserve a place, you kind of reserve and they put you on a list and are supposed to meet you know if your party will be allowed in. Never heard anything so just got in line and walked in. The reservation system needs some help. Inside, the decor is unique and fits with that Saints and Sinners motif. However, I don't know if it was to be a club, a line, a bar or what. It really doesn't have a specific dance area, so it feels more like a bar lounge. Also, walkways are fairly narrow so, if you don't reserve a table, it gets very crowded when you're standing around. As for the drinks, I wouldn't say they stood out in any way. Not worth the price. I'd say to pregame before heading to Level 8 in general, but the venue ambiance is nice.

Yelp
We had free tickets to an event here last night, but you had to be in before 11. We got in line at 10:35 PM and the line was so long that it was 11:02 PM by the time we were greeted by the hostess or whoever she was. She proceeds to tell us that there is no way that we have been in line the whole time and we can't get in with our tickets. Her attitude was terrible. We waited the entire time for nothing and went elsewhere. Due to the poor attitude of this girl, I do not recommend this stuffy and pretentious venue at all.

Yelp
In all my years of living in Los Angeles and traveling around the world, I have never been to such an unorganized establishment such as Level8. Granularly speaking- the club Sinners Y Santos is absolutely terrible. Where to begin... Being a new venue, you would think a new club would have bottle service girls holding sparklers/signs if there is a request for it being a special occasion like a bachelorette party. They said that's not something they do. Ok fine. Moving on. Secondly, the customer service is non-existent. My friends will be leaving a review soon regarding the customer service level from each of their perspective. Finally- the bill. I was promised a comped bottle because it was a bachelorette party. They charged me 2 bottles. We asked the waitress to remove it but she said "it's too late, I already rang it up". Also please note EVERYONE, they charge you an automatic 20% service charge so you technically do not need to tip additional if you don't think the service was great. What is also ridiculous is that they add the 20% service charge amount in the tax. What makes me the most upset is they don't let you fill out the tip. It's off a digital pad. Anyone can basically sign for it. They can add another 0 in the tip without us even knowing too. I am currently disputing my bill because I did not approve the charges on my bill. If you need to dispute something, you will need to email them. But they do not respond promptly. I disputed my bill 3 weeks ago and only today someone contacted me. Potential customers- please contact me directly before deciding going to this establishment. I will also share receipts from this place with all of you on how they respond. They make promises but does not deliver.

Yelp
Showed up here with some friends around 10:30P on a Saturday and there was already a line! We only waiting about 10 min to get in. This mini club was quite an interesting one. It is a little small and there's not much open space. There's lots of reserved seating that takes up most of the space. The drinks are typical LA prices as well. The interested thing about this place is that they have a lucha libre performance. The ring is literally above the bar so it's was actually a little hard to watch the whole performance because they were so high up. One thing I DID like about this place with the DJ. He was really good! Great mixes and played top 40 as well as old school!

Yelp
Very disappointing experience last night . I was finally able to make to Level 8 and I was looking forward to celebrating my birthday at the Sinners per my friend recommendation. She lives close by and she went to this place and brought planty of friends on multiple occasions. Unfortunately we were stoped by gentlemen who demanded $200 from us upfront towards drinks because "club needs to make money " and "they are very nice to not to charge the cover ". We refused to do that since we already had drinks and absolutely will have more when we feel like without anyone putting pressure on us. We stepped aside confused and shocked . It was obvious that some people were let in without paying and only couple were asked to pay. There was no mention of cover charge or guest list anywhere. We decided not to spend any more time or money at this place .

Yelp
It said it was free to enter but when my cousins and I tried going in, the staff had informed us we had to pay 400 dollars to get seated inside. They need to stop giving false advertisement. Just say you charge to be inside.

Yelp
My friends and I went the second weekend from grand opening and it was terrible. You would think service would be top notch because it's a new venue. But nope, not at all. A friend of mine celebrated what was supposed to be one of the best nights of her life. She is still scarred because the service was Level 0. Also, they overcharged her by mistake. Their resolution was reimbursing her in a form of a gift card. Who does that? This place is not that cool. Do not come.

Yelp
The inside of Sinners y Santos is very cathedral like and definitely holds the name of the club! The club was extremely full inside with house music in the background. We opted to sit outside by the rooftop. Bartender was amazing, she asked what we liked and prepared a drink for us. She also informed us there was a wresting show going on inside.

Lilly M.

Yelp
Sinners y Santos is the best club to visit in DTLA!!! Such nice staff and bottle girls! :) They even have a special wrestling show that is absolutely insane to watch!!

Rio D.

Yelp
Good times! It took a while for people to get here but once they did it was popping. The hostess Madison by the elevator really set a good vibe honestly! Had fun checking out the other places at Level 8

Yelp
I had the most incredible time thanks to the host here. Taylor is so professional and a true Gem! They are lucky to have her. Thanks for showing this mama a nice night, Taylor. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Got a table. Left the table to explore the rest of the building. Before leaving the table, wife and I specifically asked two separate staff members to make sure the neighboring table of 20 people in a 6 person table space does not take our alcohol. Came back 15-20 minutes later. Our two bottles are empty. Mentioned it to the staff we talked to. They kind of just laughed. Talked to higher up person. Didn't really go anywhere. Neighboring table offered to buy us a bottle. Fine whatever. It's not about the money, it's about the service. Will I get another table here? Sure. Kind of expected more with this being a new place, but idk. It's my fault for expecting more.

Yelp
This was a fun and cute little bar. The DJ that was there that night played really good dance music. There was plenty of room for dancing and talking to your friends. The drinks seem pretty good. There was a wrestling show at around 9 PM. The only problem was that you have to crank your neck and look up above the bar to see it so you kind of miss out on some of the action but it's a cute little thing.

Yelp
I went to my friends bachelorette party a few weeks ago and it was underwhelming. Also, upper management needs to do a better job at communicating reservations. It took my friend a week later to get a call back to confirm a reservation. In the end of it all, it was not worth it. There are far more better clubs in LA compared to this place. They also over charge bills and do not refund properly as well. Do not come here if you're looking for a well worth it time.

Isabella P.

Yelp
Went here last night for me and my friend's birthday. We had a group of 14 that we made a guest list reservation for but did not want nor request bottle service. When we arrived the bouncers told us they couldn't let us in without charging us 3k minimum because we had the reservation. We asked if we could just get in the regular line and go in separately, they said no. We left and went else where. The reservation system needs to be clarified. No where did it say that was a rule or policy. Really disappointing night. Gothic cathedral Lucha Libre bar sounded like the best night ever but $3500??? What the hell

Johnny W.

Yelp
Went here last weekend and the vibe was intense. Great music. Beautiful and fun people! Everybody was dancing! I hate saying this, but it was lit!!!!

Mikaela M.

Yelp
What's not to love about this place! Wresting matches with dancers at 11:30 and 12:30, delicious drinks, and good music? Not to mention you can order tacos after the club closes to complete your perfect night out! And the service was amazing I will definitely be coming back
google avatar

Brittany H.

Yelp
Fantastic music and edgy sexy vibe. The staff was so nice - from bottle service girls to security guards. No idea what the others are talking about and I'm not impressed easily. I've gotten tables all over the country. This is a fantastic place for celebration with friends.

Kingston C.

Yelp
Best nightlife venue ever! There's a wrestling ring show every hour on Friday & Saturday at 11:30pm and 12:30am with burlesque dancers. Drinks are a tad pricey but shots were heavy and I asked the bartenders to make us unique drinks that were delicious. The food at the Taco Truck was the best way to end the night with some fresh horchata.

Ellie B.

Yelp
Fun club but it's weird that there's so many old people like in their 40s and up. I didn't know old people liked clubs lol

Keenan N.

Yelp
The bottle service girl we had from table 703 was not enthusiastic. It doesn't seem like she wanted to be there. When we asked if they do signage and hold sparklers, she just said no and walked away. I've never experienced this level of customer service. Considering we are paying big $$ to be here, they don't seem to care. They also incorrectly charges the bill so please beware when you are paying. They add on service charge in the tax as well. Absolutely ridiculous. Save yourself trouble and don't come here.

N K.

Yelp
At Level 8 of the Moxy hotel you'll find this vibrant night club that boasts world renowned DJs. A unique and electric experience complete with a lucha libre wrestling show, this spot is not to be missed!

Lucy B.

Yelp
This nightclub in Downtown LA is my favorite place. I have never experienced a night out like this place and the entire Level 8 concept. If you are in LA, this place must be in your list!
