Sioux Falls State Theatre

The staff were super friendly. Clean facility and bathrooms. Loved the reclining seats. Will definitely be back!! :)

So cool. If you get bored during the ads, you can look around at the really cool space and architecture. The staff were really nice when I went. Saw the movie “Fall is a good time to die” which was locally produced. The seats recline. I think my neck hurt a little after but at least they recline. The buttons are fun to press. Good selection of drinks.

The State Theater has been very nicely restored. The place is clean, the chairs are comfortable with swinging tables and drink holders, and the staff is both friendly and helpful. Big thumbs up 👍 to the real butter 🧈 on the popcorn. They show a mixture of golden oldies and fairly current art house films, with 4K available for the new ones. The price is reasonable for today, below what the commercial chains charge. I wish it was closer to my home, because I would go to it a lot. Recommended.

A beautifully restored historical theatre that shows a variety of curated films. The seats are comfy and recline, the popcorn has real butter, and they project the film title onto the curtain with theme/vibe-appropriate music before each showing. My husband and I bought a membership after the first movie we saw here and will continue to do so as long as we can. A community treasure.

Well my dream has come true the last time I have visited the state theatre was when they were starting the close down the balcony because things were getting really bad, I was just a kid at that time and now they have remodelled it, upgraded the seats to recliners as you can see in the pictures and the price is not as bad as I thought it would be the prices for the food Is really a lot better than what I thought it was going to be. And if you want to step back into a nostalgic Theatre then this is a must see it is perfect they've done really really well Here the seats are comfortable I think you would enjoy it. I will be returning back to the state theatre, you've done really well. A great big shout out and thank you so much for doing such a great job in bringing us back a great theatre in downtown Sioux Falls.

The seats are amazing, with the reclining feature and leather. The snacks are great, and they serve beer and wine. We will definitely go back for another show.

What a hidden gem in downtown Sioux Falls! The recently restored and reopened State Theater on Phillips Ave. is incredibly beautiful. The rows are spacious and the high back electric controlled reclining leather chairs have ample room and are very comfortable. There is not a bad seat in the theater 🎭. And they are playing both old and NEW movie releases. We love this theater and will be back again and again. If you like the "big screen" experience, you will really enjoy movies at the State Theater.

Beautifully renovated old theater with new reclining seats 💺 😍. We are visiting or would become members. They have real butter on their popcorn 🍿. They do a mix of classic and current movies as well as art and foreign films. A definite must while in Souix Falls! Admission was less than $10.00 so for two with large 🍿 and a drink it was about $33.00. Thanks also to the great staff. 😀
