Google
Very solid place with great drinks, great people, and a worthwhile cause. There's ample seating for working remotely or passing the time with a book. The shop also hosts & organizes community events. As a community focused non profit, specializing in mental illnes, they're well worth your time to visit & support

Google
A coffee shop with an inspiring mission, great atmosphere, and delicious products. I will be back! Most people here on a Monday during the day were focused on their work, it’s a quieter and more peaceful space. A ton of outlets, standing and sitting seating. Kind staff that guided me to the best drink. Nectar of the Gods latte was AMAZING. Sweetened with agave, cinnamon and chocolate, absolutely delicious. And not to mention 16oz for $5.50! super reasonable prices for Chicago.

Google
I been waiting to come here for 5 years ! And I finally made it. Got a nectar of the gods latte and it was amazing! Best coffee I ever had in Chicago 😊 highly recommend, great service. Vibes, merch, and shout out to Audrie, Maria. & Katie! For being very helpful and amazing service and a pleasure to talk to! I felt great leaving. Definitely coming back again soon!!! Great environment! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
The best coffee shop in the world. My favorite. Not only are their coffee and treats delicious, but 100% of their proceeds go towards mental health. Not to mention they’re always so friendly and accommodating, and the artwork they have on the walls and in the bathrooms are so cool! Always a place worth going to.

Google
Friendly staff, atmosphere perfect chill vibes for a rainy day. Coffee was strong, holy, and so good!It woke me up instantly. I love that! Haha. It's rare for that to happen. If I lived closer, this would be my wakeup call for work daily. ☕ #coffeelovers #rainydayvibes #perfecthideout

Google
Amazing atmosphere and extremely helpful staff. All of the staff are mental health first aid trained. Buying from here is also a way to support a great organization in Chicago, Hope For The Day!

Mikey B

Google
It’s good vibes all day. A coffee shop totally dedicated to supporting & showcasing mental health. How could hate on that? But it’s actually a cool vibe here. Good coffee. Cool spot to sit and get some work done. Peace n love

Google
Not a coffee drinker but was attracted to this coffee bar after watching a video from Obama Foundation about them. I love the concept that the bar serve as a place that connect people and talks about mental health. Mental health message that printed on the packaging is fantastic, what a good way to promote healthy mental health. Lastly, staff is really helpful, especially towards someone who have no idea about coffee.

Yelp
EVERYONE GO TO SIP OF HOPE RN. I fell in love with this coffee shop. 100% of proceeds go to raise awareness and help with suicide prevention and mental health. On top of that and all of the resources they carry, the coffee is incredible.

Grigor E.

Yelp
After years of coming here, I witnessed the worse service of any coffee shop. 2 workers behind the counter doing nothing. The cash register person talking about who knows what with no drink or orders made for what has to be longer the the 5 mins of me waiting. I literally was looking at them in a wtf is going on here as they both turned to me like I was part of their discussion. I eventually left came the next day to complain and the same person behind the counter said "yeah that was weird?" ... So weird that you didn't bother to address the customer waiting there while you also did nothing .... They lost me as a customer

Yelp
Ugh, Yelp deleted my entire draft. It was ok. I stopped here because it is across the street from the Logan Square library. I appreciate their mission, so I wanted to support it. They had good specials--I know the latte I picked up for someone else was happily consumed. My chai was ok, but nothing special. The staff weren't unfriendly exactly, but also weren't terribly welcoming and seemed more interested in chatting with one another. I might come back if I was at the LS library in order to support their mission.

Yelp
Visited my friend in Logan Square a few times the past few months and went to Sip of Hope several times. Great drinks and a great mission.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here with my bf because we were in the area getting his car cleaned. This place offers coffee/tea at super reasonable prices as well as the quality is very good! I had the "lake effect" drink which is essentially london fog with vanilla syrup. The drink hit the spot for me as I was tired and cold after walking around the neighborhood for a couple hours. 100% of the proceeds goes towards mental health and suicide prevention which is for an amazing cause. They have super nice chairs/benches for you to do work or meet up with friends to just catch up on life. The vibe at this place was amazing and I cannot wait to be back. I feel like I would purposely come here just to wfh instead of sitting at home. People are really nice here as well as it's a place to just sit down and sip on a coffee while thinking about life.

Yelp
Some of the BEST priced coffee in Chicago (lattes less than $5?!), with a wonderful mission-- 100% of proceeds support suicide prevention and mental health education. Great, chill vibes inside with plenty of seating and desk space-- perfect for light work or meeting up with friends. Highly recommend that everyone checks it out!! -- Price (relative to peers): 5/5 Coffee: 4.5/5 Ambience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Overall Value: 5/5

Kelsey G.

Yelp
Great service, mission, vibes and coffee! This is my go-to when I visit from LA. Their Nectar of the Gods drink is truly heavenly!

J B.

Yelp
Well sponsored spot in the neighborhood with quality products & service. Specialty drinks are popular.
google avatar

Deedee W.

Yelp
Sip of Hope is a non-profit where 100% of their proceeds goes to proactive suicide prevention and mental health education. They will actively work with you if in need... or maybe you just want to get a great cup of coffee! Grab a coffe and support a great cause!
google avatar

Sara K.

Yelp
Great coffee with proceeds going to a great cause. You can't ask for anything better! I ordered the iced Nectar of the Gods (agave, dark chocolate, and cinnamon) and am in love!! I enjoyed it because it was sweet and not too strong - so it may not be the drink for everyone. But there are lot of unique flavor options! The service was also great, everyone was so nice and helpful! With several tables and outlets, it's also a great place to work from / study.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
The coffee speaks for itself Quick in and out service Quite ambiance Quality product.
google avatar

Marissa M.

Yelp
As a former ER nurse, I am a HUGE advocate of mental health. I absolutely love this concept for a coffee shop and wish that more spaces like it existed! Aside from their cause, the coffee and atmosphere is great as well. Come for the cause, stay for the coffee!
google avatar

Jackie M.

Yelp
This is a cute spot if you're in the neighborhood! i love what the shop itself stands for and represents and i love that they offer coffee punch cards! its like a cute rewards program for customers. its super spacious and they even sell merch!
google avatar

Carleen T.

Yelp
100% of the proceeds to toward suicide prevention and mental health care. A wonderful cause! The coffee and tea are great, and the pastries are good, too. I bought some extra merch to support the cause. One of my favorite coffee spots.

Yelp
My husband and I rented a car for our last day in Chicago and we decided to drop by this little neighborhood for some coffee. My husband did the searching and came across this coffee shop, surprising me, to say the least. I am a Mental Health Advocate and have a background in Clinical Psychology, so I greatly appreciated everything this organization and coffee shop stood for. 100% of their proceeds go towards mental health advocacy, awareness, and suicide prevention. It feels so good to know that money that I spend here goes towards a good cause, and I don't feel so guilty about buying that cup of coffee or snagging that piece of merchandise! I've been searching for a new cap for awhile, and could never find anything unique or meaningful enough online. Seeing their cap and what it represented, "It's ok not to be ok," I knew it was meant to be. I purchased one of their caps, and felt extra good knowing that the money used for this goes towards helping others too. I thought of my sister-in-law who also appreciated psychology and mental health awareness, so we also picked up some coffee grounds for her as well. My husband ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte for himself and I tried their Gods Nectar drink. He thought the drink was decent and also felt good about supporting the cause. My drink was ordered hot and tasted just perfect - a hint of agave, but not overwhelmingly sweet like my husbands Vanilla Latte. I ordered a 12oz, which was enough to last me all morning. We saw a couple of people using their laptops and hanging around inside the restaurant when we visited. It wasn't crazy packed or anything, and we felt comfortable removing our masks to sip our drinks when we sat for a little bit. The staff was also very friendly. If we lived in this area, this would definitely be our local coffee hangout spot! I highly recommend stopping by to check this place out while supporting a good cause if you pass by this neighborhood!

Yelp
COULD NOT SAY ENOUGH GREAT THINGS ABOUT THIS PLACE. As a strong mental health advocate, a psychiatric nurse, and a wife of someone with Bipolar I Disorder... this coffee shop means so much to me. I mean... what an incredible mission, and what a difference this coffee shop is making! I'm much more focused on the mission and values of this coffee shop, versus the actual drinks and treats... but the drinks and treats were very delicious! There are a plethora of free resources to take for those struggling with mental illness... and you can just tell this coffee shop truly cares about all the customers they serve. Looking for your purchase to make a difference? Then stop by Sip of Hope!
google avatar

Chris O.

Yelp
Decided to visit Sip of Hope after passing by on our way to our Airbnb and hearing about the fantastic cause that they support (and of course the great coffee). The mocha and seasonal pumpkin lattes we had were both delicious and the staff were super friendly. Would definitely recommend visiting Sip of Hope if you are in the area and grabbing some tasty caffeinated beverages to enjoy while supporting mental health education and suicide prevention!
google avatar

Yelp
This was a really really nice coffee shop and I'm happy I stopped by.I got the nectar of God to drink and it had a lot of flavor. I love how this coffee shop also helps out the community in more ways then one.
google avatar

Linda R.

Yelp
As I love the concept, been meaning to go here for the longest time. It took being in the neighborhood for a 2nd Covid vaccine. So yeah, 2 good things helping to make it a great day! Has the feeling of a cool community hang out. One wouldn't be able to see that now as it is quite sterile and contained for safety but one could tell it is inviting. The baristas were nice and friendly and made a mighty fine cup of coffee. Looking forward to visiting again.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
My friend recommend the Dark Matter coffee sold at Sip of Hope, and their incredibly awesome mission. I stopped by today to grab a couple bags of coffee and a snack. You get a free coffee (hot or iced) with every coffee bag purchase. Since I got 3 and I was by myself they automatically gave me a larger size ice coffee - so generous! I had a ham and cheese croissant which was covered in an everything bagel-esque spice mix and crunchy seeds. Super delicious! It reminded me of the legendary pretzel croissants sold at City Bakery in NYC. The vibe was cool and modern, lots of folks working on laptops and super friendly staff. I wish this coffee shop was in every city - I love the concept and wish Sip of Hope continued success. I'll be sure to recommend this place to my other local friends and be back to visit on my next Chicago trip. Awesome!!

Yelp
I dropped in to pickup coffee & tea while the rest of my family was visiting the library across the street. I had planned to go to Gaslight on the corner of Milwaukee, but this place caught my eye. The vibe inside is even more inviting than the outside, with hardwood floors, exposed brick, good lighting, quiet music, and the smell of amazing coffee. I now have high expectations of my takeout drinks... And the chai latte is fantastic!
google avatar

Kyle P.

Yelp
Great cause. Great vibe. Great people. Great coffee. This place is always packed, and it's easy to see why. A truly great initiative that delivers in all areas.

Yelp
Loved this place!! Such a great business that supports mental health education and suicide prevention. It's located in the logan square area. It seems to be right in the midst of a little neighborhood which gives it such a cozy feel. The staff was wonderful and the were all super nice at answering all the questions I had, whether it was about their coffee or just the business in general. The coffee was delicious and I had mine sitting inside. There was a lot of seating inside but some outside as well. I did not get any baked goods but they looked delicious and most everyone who ordered a coffee got a little treat as well! So I'm assuming that these baked goods are delicious. Will definitely be back to try some! Overall such a wonderful coffee shop that is supporting a great cause!
google avatar

Justin E.

Yelp
Independent of their cause, which is great, this place has good coffee and breakfast pastries for a totally normal price (compared to Starbucks / other upscale coffee shops in the neighborhood). Their outdoor patio seating is excellent, even with the street being a bit busier.

Amanda C.

Yelp
amazing coffee and huge pastries, staff is super friendly AND all proceeds support mental health resources and services?? literally where can you go wrong with Sip of Hope. get the basil goat cheese croissant!
google avatar

Brett B.

Yelp
First, the drinks are consistent and great. If you only want a beverage, by far the place to be. Get it. But if hungry. The vegan donuts they started sourcing locally are absolutely garbage. They taste like a carnival food trucks grease trap. So much that it over powers the rest of any flavor. Maybe they were fried in coconut oil? Bc that's all you get is the oil the flavor. Might as well be sold by BP the so oily. Avoid at all cost
google avatar

Yelp
Looking for a great place to work on Yelp, I ran across Sip of Hope. As i read the reviews I decided to make the trek from North Park and i am glad I did. Walking in, there was a buzz in the place with people drinking coffee and working on their laptops yet having conversations throughout the room. The product, I am happy. I ordered an Americano and asked if they did ristretto shots. They responded by saying they do a triple ristretto already...I love you guys. Many places look at me funny when I say Ristretto or say that they can't (or that the roaster does not recommend it ????). Not here, they know their stuff. The Americano was dark and rich with amazing body. I am now a fan of Dark Matter coffee. I would be remiss not to mention the amazing staff and the idea of HOPE everywhere in the place. Their mission of suicide prevention is a great well needed mission. Come to Sip of Hope, have a Sip of Hope and give Hope.
google avatar

Megh L.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee shops, hands down! Their message is beautiful. Their purpose is profound. They proudly serve Dark Matter Coffee and lots of tasty pastries. Their mission is It's Ok Not To Be Ok #hftd 100% of the proceeds go to mental health education and suicide prevention. There are a ton of mental health resources there too. Check them out- you will be glad you did.
google avatar

Javier B.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Everyone was super nice and the coffee was delicious. Looking forward to going back. One point of concern, I ordered the horchata donut and it was terrible. Not sure if these are made in-house or delivered for the morning, but may I suggest looking into a new recipe or vendor.
google avatar

Arlen M.

Yelp
Fantastic. Love this place and the people who work there. So happy we have Sip of Hope in my neighborhood.
google avatar

Chloe W.

Yelp
The space aligns heavily with the mission with flyers of resources, large murals, and a bold wooden sign of "It's okay to not be okay." I got the agave latte (Nectar of the Gods) and spent a very calm twenty minutes reading in the space. Also a good WFH coffee shop with wifi and outlets!
google avatar

Alice W.

Yelp
Great institution that puts your caffeine addiction to a good cause. Oh, and one of the few places with decaf drip. As someone with Anxiety, I really appreciate it. Can be a little noisy here and the spots fill up fast. So don't come here for relationship talks or to break big news to someone.
google avatar

Kathleen B.

Yelp
Ended up here after a coffee shop down the road was full and boy does everything happen for a reason! Not only was my vanilla skim latte phenomenal (complete with latte art) but the business model is something that anyone can get behind. All of the proceeds made go to benefit mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Their baked goods also looked phenomenal- they had many sweet and savory croissants and also some delicious looking donuts.

Liam C.

Yelp
Great coffee and great energy inside. All proceeds goes to mental health research. The baristas are super nice as well.
google avatar

Romana Y.

Yelp
One of the best cafe's in Chi, no doubt. Amazing mission, hospitality and quality of drinks. The staff are pleasingly welcoming and kind. 100% of the proceeds at SOH are donated to suicide prevention. The walls are dressed lavishly with anti-suicide and anti-depression messages, as well as thoughtful messages of hope. #Dark Matter beans Breve Lattes: 5 (I have switched to the Breve lattes last year, and nothing could take me back to a standard latte). Nectar of the Gods: 5 Blueberry lemon muffin: 5 Granola/pecan doughnut: 5 My friends and I really enjoyed our time here. Thank you, SOH.
google avatar

Caryn T.

Yelp
Internet is slow and the tables are small. The coffee is decent but nothing to rave about. The decor and mood is nice however. Bring a book and sit by the large windows!
google avatar

Olivia S.

Yelp
Okay, this place is the cutest. Really wonderful mission and vibes and the merch is too cute. The coffee and feta croissant is good as shit. No lie, this cute curly headed barista made me one of the best mochas I've ever had... and I've had a LOT of mochas. 10/10 would dine again
google avatar

Kara K.

Yelp
Amazing. So good! And the baristas are rad as well. Always a pleasure stopping by for the great atmosphere, phenomenal coffee and fantastic pastries. :)
google avatar

Desiree M.

Yelp
Delicious and a good cause! Love it! What's great addition to Logan. Had the honey and turmeric when sick and it did the trick. :) friends had coffee and loved it.
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
Super super strong coffee, I have no idea whats in the beans here but i was buzzing so hard off of half of my nectar of the gods drink. I felt like I was on speed or something. My eye was twitching non stop and I couldn't even think clearly. I really enjoyed my drink, it was soo sweet and delicious!!! It took me 5 hours to feel normal again. I drink 3 - 4 cups of coffee a day and have no idea why this coffee made me so tweaked out. My friend had some of their coffee on draft and he was tweaking out too. It was a very interesting experience to say the least. Last but most definitely not least, I love how chicago has so many philanthropic coffee shops!! 100 % of sip of hopes proceeds go towards mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and other causes. Plenty of chargers and outlets available, and staff is super friendly as well.
google avatar

Cinthya Q.

Yelp
Great location on Fullerton ave with a modern industrial design with lots of seating. They even have a nice patio in the summer. Their coffees are delicious, and they sell delicious, humongous donuts. The best part? They donate 100% of proceeds to suicide prevention. That's something I think all coffee lovers can get behind. It's a great place to get work done (sometimes the internet is slow or not working). If the internet is not working, I just buy my coffee and go across the street to the library.
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Quality coffee, merch, employees, and mission! I have wanted to go here for a few years ever since I found it on Instagram. Coffee and raising money and awareness for mental health?? What more could I want! It was worth the wait for me.
google avatar

Nikki M.

Yelp
I find the service to be significantly more friendly and a lot less abrasive here than at the Dark Matter branded coffee shops. I think anyone with mental health issues would find themselves more comfortable here. It's still a little hipster, but not as pretentious. I absolutely love the minimalist atmosphere & the "My Neighbor Totoro" bathroom. Even more so, I love the iced Chocolate City Dark Matter Coffee on draft. Delicious. You get a free drink if you purchase a bag of beans. Score! And why wouldn't you want to give this place money? 100% of the proceeds go to mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Seriously, if you live in the area why would you buy your coffee anywhere else?!
google avatar

Andrej R.

Yelp
This coffee shop donates all proceeds to suicide prevention and awareness, which is an amazing thing to begin with. You step in and instantly feel a welcome atmosphere in the air. They offer free 'it's okay to not be okay' wristbands on the counter, and invite you to open a conversation about mental health. Johnny Boucher, the owner, travels around the world to champion the importance of mental health. They sell Dark Matter Coffee, and their Nectar of the Gods is truly divine. You can buy bags and some delicious pastries as well. 11/10 would recommend for the coffee and the cause.
google avatar

Ann P.

Yelp
What's not to love? Mindi Segal baked treats (weekends only) , to DIE for and Dark Matter coffee. Basic coffee, no latte's or frilly drinks. The friendliest baristas and a super cool concept. All proceeds support suicide prevention and mental health services. LOVE people who LOVE people. Sit outside and enjoy the quiet blvd. The pumpkin cheesecake chai muffin was moist and decadent and my hot coffee, so nice. 5 stars for the win.
google avatar

Amy W.

Yelp
Full disclosure: I'm admittedly biased since I work in the mental health field. I wanted to love Sip of Hope even before going there, because I was so excited about the idea of a community space that could provide support to those in crisis and destigmatize mental health issues. When I actually made it to Sip of Hope, it exceeded all my hopes and expectations! I immediately loved the open space, the optimistic artwork, and the friendly baristas. I also loved the free stickers, bracelets, and pins all communicating a message of hope. The coffee itself is also amazing -- I love Dark Matter and Star Lounge, so I knew it was going to be good! I strongly recommend getting Nectar of the Gods iced; it's the best iced coffee I've ever had!! It's sweet but not too sweet, and also has a bit of bitterness to balance it all out. I will be coming to Sip of Hope frequently to support their mission. Thank you and keep doing what you guys do!
google avatar

Edwin V.

Yelp
I've been coming to SOH since it first opened back in May. I must say, SOH never seems to disappoint. First of all, there's never any worries if the coffee is going to be good or not. It's dark matter for crying out loud! Perhaps the best Chicago coffee roaster! I normally stick with their $3 bottomless coffee cause unlimited coffee for $3 is too much of a good deal to pass up! When I'm feeling a more specialty drink I like to get the nectar of the gods. That one is insane! Also their croissants are huge and fluffy. Secondly, probably has one of the most spacious coffee seating areas in the city that is not a Starbucks. Most coffee shops goers know that it's often a struggle to find seating in popular shops. I greatly appreciate how much seating is provided here! So they drinks and food are great and the space is awesome as well, but that's not the biggest reason why they're great. I absolutely love the intent to build relationships with all customers here at SOH. Obviously that's vital if their mission is to help those with mental health issues, but they do an awesome job with it. So in sum: great food and drinks, awesome working space, and phenomenal also selfless service makes the coffee shop it's own entity. With that being said, if you want a great experience at a coffee shoo for a great cause, Sip Of Hope is the place to go!
google avatar

Maricar T.

Yelp
What an amazing concept. Can you believe that 100% of the proceeds go to Hope for the Day? I've heard of HFTD probably 3 years ago from Warped Tour but it hasn't crossed my mind since, until now. Aside from that, definitely make sure to put Sip of Hope on your list because not only will you be getting a good Dark Matter brew, but you will be donating to an amazing cause! I went on with an Americano and a Vegan Trail Mix Scone. I have a thing for vegan scones so I didn't have a hard time choosing (even though the donuts looked delicious.) There I was reading my book and feeling the caffeine go through my veins. No doubt do I recommend that trail mix scone! The right amount of crunch throughout! They've got bench seating (yasss) with stools opposite them, bar seating and window seating. Anywhere you go to sit, you've got a good view because the space itself is very appealing to the eye. Suicide prevention and mental health resources are available right when you walk in through the door. Guys, this place is the real deal and is a great addition to the neighborhood!

Yelp
Sip of Hope is exactly what innovative restaurants and coffee shops exemplify - marrying a valuable offering, in this case Dark Matter espresso and coffee, with a powerful cause, namely mental health and suicide prevention. While visiting the Logan Square neighborhood, I stopped in to check out the venue and was impressed with the resources available at the entrance for individuals seeking a resource to address mental health issues. Moreover, the wall reminds everyone of the helpful quote that "It's OK to not be OK" - additionally, the baristas are trained to listen to issues that patrons may be going through. I ordered the iced mocha and my wife ordered the chai tea latte - both of us were impressed at the quality of the drinks as well. The ambiance is not that different from most nice coffee shops, cozy, relaxing, and a nice place to spend a few hours. However, the art and murals on the wall are all emblematic of Hope and inspiration - I'll definitely drink to that!
