I love going to this cafe, whether it’s to grab a quick coffee or sit in the window seats and work for a few hours. It is very calm and welcoming - a great quiet place to focus. Their coffee is amazing and they offer Turkish coffee as well as other creative drinks. I also like their food options like the Turkish bagel and the fruit tarts. The owner is super friendly as well. Skip Starbucks and spend your money at a small business like Sip of Joy!

Service are nice but I can’t believe after they warm it the food is still cold … what? :( The food quality is good tho. The latte is too much milk and taste like water but the black coffee definitely is good tho. Kinda sad :(. Turkish coffee is good but not great.

If you're in Boston's South End and looking for a cozy spot that blends Turkish and American flavors, Sip of Joy Café & Bakery is a must-visit. Located at 661 Tremont Street, this family-run café, opened in July 2023 by owners Matt and Burju Sari, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. One of the highlights is their traditional Turkish coffee, brewed slowly to perfection and served in charming mugs adorned with scenes from Istanbul. Pair it with their milk baklava, a creamy twist on the classic pastry filled with pistachios and topped with cocoa powder-dusted whipped cream. The pastry counter boasts a variety of treats, from savory börek (flaky phyllo pastry) to rich walnut brownies and tart lemon bars. On Sundays, they offer a traditional Turkish breakfast buffet featuring fresh bread, olives, cheeses, tomatoes, and cucumbers—a delightful way to start your day.

A perfect space to read, write, chat. It wasn’t crowded, even on a Sunday afternoon. There’s a variety of seating options, including a few tables outside, one large table with a bench, stools and a bar against one wall, and several small tables for two or three people, including two window tables. My cappuccino was more like a very large latte, and the spinach feta pie was just okay. Next time I should get the Turkish coffee. Several other people got the Turkish bagel and seemed to enjoy it.

Super lovely cafe to stop by, a true gem! Great to do work and relax, plus the coffee was absolutely delicious. The Turkish bagel was fun, a yummy texture plus great with a little cream cheese or just alone! Definitely coming back to do work and try some pastries!

A cozy corner of simple Turkish delights in South End. While there are many Turkish bakery and coffee shops in Boston, South End and South Boston doesn’t have a lot of options. Sip of Joy filled this niche and brought a much-needed splash of Turkish goods to the neighborhood. On my recent visit around their opening hour on a Sunday, I found the shop nice and quiet. As the first customer of the day, I was greeted by the owner, Matt, who provided a comprehensive rundown of their pastry selection. Though not extensive, the cafe provided a well-curated mix of sweet and savory Turkish pastries, and Matt’s emphasis on providing more savory options set Sip of Joy apart from other Turkish bakeries in the city. Along with some of the pastries, I got a cup of traditional Turkish coffee that came out in a gorgeous cup. The coffee was well-balanced, and I liked how it didn’t have too much tart residue at the bottom. Some of my favorite pastries were the cheese & dill Turkish bread and the Quiche of the day. Both were served warm, and the insides were soft and fluffy. The sweet selections like the pistachio cookies were also solid. Sip of Joy might not have an exhaustive list of pastries, but overall, it offers a charming and authentic Turkish cafe experience. Highly recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for traditional Turkish treats and a cozy, personable atmosphere

Best matcha I’ve had in Boston! Fell in love with the strawberry matcha and the owner (I assumed based on his level of knowledge) was manning the counter and he was so incredibly patient with all my questions and gave me recommendations. Really appreciate the time and care he took with explaining the history of each pastry I tried.

Black coffee was good. Latte was too much of milk. Turkish bread was served cold inside. Quiche was also served fully cold.

Yelp
Item(s) ordered: Cortado, flat white, raspberry crumb bar The Review: Sip of Joy truly lived up to its namesake. The owner was very kind and when I was on the fence about the cold brew, offered a taste test. They care about their beans and order them fresh from George Howell. The raspberry crumb bar apparently was "omg so good". They also had a number of other delectable items including a pumpkin cheesecake. There is limited outdoor seating but if you can get it, it's a really nice South End experience. Will be back!

Yelp
Sip of Joy is a bright, modern and somewhat scandi-chic cafe The service is friendly and welcoming. There are counter/stools individual tablesand a large communal table. I got a warmed up simit (a relative of a bagel and a less-sweet Jerusalem bagel) and cream cheese and an iced chai. Both were very good. No breakfast sandwiches but quiche, pasties are available.

Yelp
Great cozy cafe. The staff are super friendly and most of the drinks are made from scratch. The cafe is small and has a small outdoor patio. I highly recommend the matcha lemonade, it is not too sweet but very refreshing.

Yelp
Sip of Joy is a lovely spot in the South End to enjoy a drink and pastry. The service is friendly, and the space is bright and welcoming. There are different types of seating, including counter stools and a large table. I got a plain croissant that was warmed up, and an iced chai latte. Both were tasty, but while I wouldn't get the croissant again, there were other treats that I want to try in the future.

Yelp

Yelp
Owner is a sweetheart! He was super welcoming and gave us a wonderful explanation behind each dish. He really cares about his customers and makes sure everyone is happy. The place is bright and cozy, which makes it a perfect work spot! The food was also yummy. The simik was covered in sesame and had a great chew, the cheese borek was oozing with cheese but had a delicious flaky crunch, the baklava was my favorite -- flaky, nutty, and not too sweet, and the spinach pie was light and filling. Their turkish coffee was also pretty good! I'd recommend asking for his opinion on the sugar level before you order.

Yelp
The Turkish coffee was really good and subtly sweet! I loved the small Turkish delight that came with it too. Pastries were delicious, decor very cute, and staff were very friendly. A bit on the pricier side. One person was camped out working but most were there to briefly have a quick bite and coffee.

Yelp
The best addition to the South End!! First I'd like to appreciate that they open at 6am most of the week, so it's a great place to stop by before work or if you're just an early bird. I went during the week just before 7am for a hot Turkish coffee (slightly sweetened), and Simit (Turkish bagel), and couldn't resist the milky baklava which is an absolute must. Although I would've liked it better if I shared it with someone, but it was just me and I was feeling ambitious. No regrets to eating that all before my day even started *laugh emoji* I got a pogaca (Turkish bread) here but I was not the hugest fan of it cause I liked it somewhere else. Skip this one if you need to and just get the milky baklava!! The interior is super pretty, with blue tile tables and chairs outside and a cozy spot inside. It does get pretty toasty in there though, so I prefer sitting outside. The owners there are so sweet and welcoming. I've only gone two times, but I can't wait to go many more!!

Yelp
Super cute new cafe in south end with cozy, comfortable space to study, read, or catch up with friends, which I was here for on a weekend afternoon. I tried their turkish coffee lightly sweetened as recommended as I typically add a dash of milk to my coffee. Paired with the turkish delight it was as lovely as the interior and the cups and saucers they were served on. It is relatively small so I imagine it could get busy, but it was perfect for our purposes that day.

Yelp
Best coffee in the South End. Hands down! Matt is a nice guy too. He is from Turkey and makes a great Turkish coffee.

Yelp
Owner gave me a cookie with my coffee. He's always so kind. It's a plus the coffee is good too. Love supporting small businesses in a world of Dunkin's and Starbucks.

Yelp
Great ambiance including outside. Macchiato was good and pastries had good flavor and freshness. They have Turkish items including simit. Pricing is as expected for a coffee shop in this area.

Yelp
Wonderful new coffee spot in the South End! The owner is incredibly kind and works hard to engage with every customer while still getting orders taken care of. I've been a few times now and always a great place to read a book or do some work.

Yelp
My fiancé and I stopped in here after walking past it a few times and we really liked it! There's a good amount of seating inside and the inside is really cute. We got a hot coffee, and iced coffee, a pastry and a baklava. Our favorite item was the baklava, not too sweet and had a really good flavor.
