Absolutely amazing service and a great variety of wine choices. The interior is spacious and uniquely decorated. The staff is knowledgeable, fun and giving. Everything is clean and spotless. We had a great evening!

Update - 2023 - popped in a few months ago - not the same place. Vibe, at all. Not sure if it was officially open, as it appeared shuttered couple times we went by during Covid. But then, we saw there were people there this last time, so we popped in...even tho it was kind of dark... seemed maybe like a private gathering.. was not sure what to make of it. NOT welcoming at all. Tried to engage with the owner and it was a struggle. It was open, but maybe a handful of friends hanging out. Changed my mind after that. Not sure what was up but would not go back. Disappointed. Really wanted to see them succeed. Not enough wineries in the Grand Ave area. I know she is an icon for wine makers but did not feel welcome at all, this time around. *Loved this place too! Great wine, ambience, people.. and music! Just don't go enough.

Sip is a wonderful establishment. They live and work in Escondido, which means you can't get more local. At any time you can find the owners, Cassandra or Jeremy, hanging out at a table playing cards or behind the bar pouring wine. Every time we've come, there have always been hugs and a glass of wine ready to go. There's no other place in Escondido that can match the quality of service.

We were sold when we called for the dress code and the owner said, "where CLOTHES"! LMAO . We said you're funny, she said I know. She's beautiful, fun and knows her wines and beers. The place has a chill vibe, Black Owned & Operated (gotta support). Inside she sells other Black Owned Wines and beers. She has delicious Charcuterie Boards when you order certain flights. My group really enjoyed ourselves. We said we will make it a Friday Night Thang . As we paid our bill, we told the owner WE ARE TELLING EVERYONE ABOUT HER AND SIP AND SHE IS ABOUT TO BLOW UP AND WE SHE BLOWS UP WE ALL BLOW UP! (Martin Show Phrase). Very lovely wine bar in Escondido. The owner is very personable and friendly. If you like good wine (and beer), along with very friendly service, I would highly recommend this establishment!

During the pandemic, I was really lucky to find this black woman owned wine and beer tasting room in North Inland...surprisingly downtown Escondido. I've been a repeat customer since then. It's an immaculate chic spot to sip & unwind...sip & conversate...sip & dance. I especially love the wine tastings and dj nights. I always have a fun time! So be ready to enjoy yourself!! Just sip & be merry!!! There is a great variety of choices so let your palate decide. For the port wine lovers out there, this is the place to come to. Cassandra, the owner, has a nice collection. Importantly, the service is absolutely fantastic. And, I don't want to forget the yummy charcuterie board that's available to satisfy your food appetite. I came here with some friends, and they had a free tasting event featuring some wines from Northern California. The staff was super friendly and sweet. The wines were quite good. I loved the vibe, the art and the wine, so I'll be back.

Cute place that has comfortable couch seating if you are lucky to grab a spot. The server was highly knowledgeable about the wines and curated us a flight based on what we described that we like; the wines were served maybe a bit warm. Easy Street parking.

Beautiful wine and beer bar with unique options. They also have a few food options. Can double as an event space if you're looking to have a party or gathering. Location has ample parking options. Staff is friendly and attentive. Bonus: black owned establishment!

Came here for a friend's baby shower, so I've only had the "private event" experience. I loved the decor, the staff was phenomenal, AND they had cocoa butter available in the bathroom. I will definitely be going back. To top things off, it's a black owned establishment.

This wine location is so mellow and cozy. I love the music and the wine selections they have. I ended up buying a few bottles to take home with me. The atmosphere is so welcoming with good vibrations. The wine here is delicious and so is the beer. This is a perfect location for group gatherings or just solo time to sip wine while you do work. This is going to be my new spot. I recommend coming here if you are in the area, you won't regret it!

Went for the "SIP Wine Class Series: For The Love of Wine & Cheese." It was a fun experience. Met Cassandra, the owner, who helped me understand that wine involves personal taste. What tastes good to me, may not taste good to you. The thing that sticks with me most is her saying, "Just sip, taste and just ENJOY it. Good wine is whatever you like." The event was cool and relaxing. The vibe was totally chill. We had three wines paired with three cheeses and a dab of chipotle jam. I enjoyed the sweeter white wine (from the Lodi region of CA). The blue cheese paired nicely with it, and the jam added the most intense savory flavor. I learned that I'm definitely not a fan of the reds. Cassandra did a great job introducing us to wine and cheese. She was awsome and the experience was worth everything. We are fans for life. It's all about the sip society.

Met up with a friend yesterday and this spot is awesome! I don't know anything about wine but the owner recommended a great wine after asking a few questions. My friend had a beer that she really enjoyed. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Tasty beverage, Chill vibes, super clean, comfy and wonderful service:)

What a gem! I'm so bummed I can't hang out at Sip right now because the interior is so cute and cozy, but am so stoked they are doing pick up orders. I emailed Sip to inquire about setting up a time to come by and choose some wine. They emailed me back within a few hours and I was able to meet Cassandra the next afternoon. I don't know much about wine so was really excited and open to anything she suggested. I was so impressed with how much she knew about each wine and her extensive vocabulary to describe each one. She also explained how specific Sip is with choosing which wineries they buy from. I appreciate their thoughtfulness and responsible purchasing. I ended up purchasing a variety of wines (some for a birthday gift too!). I can't wait to try each one and continue to support such a rad local business.

I came in with my husband on a Saturday night after having dinner on Grand. We were greeted by Cassandra and her bright, beautiful smile once we opened the door. Right when you walk inside, the air feels so fresh and inviting. The atmosphere gives off a chill vibe with the cool music playing in the background. I love the wine selection and the variety of wine flights. My husband doesn't drink much wine so Cassandra was very helpful with him choosing the perfect red for the night. I definitely enjoyed my Rose All Day flight!! I can see us coming here frequently. When you make your customers feel like family and take your time to get to know them, it really makes all the difference! Thank you, Cassandra!

I cannot brag about this place enough! It's added to the great business in Escondido. From the wine selection to the ambience. They are all around A+++++! They have a calendar of exciting events. They will have a DJ or Live Music to listen to depending on the night. They've also done Paint & SIP events which are some of the coolest activities in town! I absolutely love the fact that they a huge selection of board games that you can play while you sip. The atmosphere is so comforting and relaxing that we make it a point to visit multiple times a month. I almost forgot, they have a wine club "SIP SOCIETY"! If you haven't been here, please make it a point to stop in. The owners, Jeremy & Cassandra, who are some of the most down to earth people I've ever met, as well as fun and full of great energy, will make you feel at right at home. Grab a bottle or a flight, listen to some soothing tunes and just sit back and enjoy your life to the fullest! Well done SIP!

Another amazing addition to Downtown Escondido! The wine selection is excellent, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is perfect. This place is great for a glass of wine alone or with a group if friends.

This place is super cute and right off the main drag in Escondido. Parking nearby was super easy! The vibe inside is calm and laid back. Only a couple other groups in there when we visited. We met the owner who was very friendly and funny. I tried a couple of beers while my friend had a couple different glasses of wine. They also sell little cheese boxes, but we didn't try those this time. I'll have to come back when I'm in the area again!

Always call before you come here. Their yelp specifically says they close at 11 pm and we came at 8 pm, it was CLOSED. I even emailed the owner letting her know I'm coming by for my bday event with a group of 15 and she confirmed with me few days before. That night I just couldn't believe it was closed. Thankfully Urge lounge was nearby. Never coming by again. I never had a business be completely closed way before their closing time. They should change their hours. I've attached photos of the email to confirm that this is true. The owner was nice about it and maybe they had their reasons but I'm still very dissatisfied.

Wish they gave us more cheese for the price. Besides that, classy spot with tasty wines and a great ambiance. Also, I loved the songs they played. No curses words or mainstream crap. The music definitely set the vibe right. I look forward to the next time!

Great new wine spot! Their wine selection is excellent and reasonably priced. We started with their wine flights and moved into a recommended bottle of Trenza Tinto. The wines did not disappoint. They had music playing in the background and games available... Everything just added to a wonderful experience.

SIP wine and beer is esthetically beautiful but it also shines bright because of what Cassandra (Owner & bartender) is doing in the wine industry - which is uplift and spotlight underrepresented BIPOC & women wine makers. She makes wine accessible to those wanting to give it a try and adventure Without judgement. It's a safe place to come try 1,2, or 3 wines and build community ! My favorite has been Kita and SeisSoles Rose & her charcuterie boards! Yum!

Open for pick ups. I saw them on black owned San Diego and drove straight over. I ended up getting the black girl magic red wine and the "she can" canned wine spritzers and they are so delicious! Service was amazing, definitely will be back!

Found this place via Yelp and had about an hour before closing time, so my husband and I decided to give it a try. Parking: a couple spots located in the back or you can find some along the street. Atmosphere: great ambiance. modern decor; nice wide and open museum like feel . love the rooms of wine to give you a nice little education of different wines. Wine: a great selection to choose from. My husband and I decided to do wine flights in which you get to choose 3 types. I'm red wine type and my husband prefers white wine. We had explained to Jeremy/ Cassandra about our pallet types and surely enough they picked out some wines that surely hit our taste buds. Food: we tried the medium cheese/ meat platter. a nice hefty selection of meat/ cheese/ jam/ fresh olives. definitely shareable between 3-4 people. Next time will give a try of their items. Jeremy/ Cassandra (owners) were very helpful and education with the wine selection and even gave us a small tour of the place. They also mentioned that Sip is only about 4 months old and their official launch is 10.22.16. A must place to check out if you love wine and they also have beer as well. Will surely be back.

Wine and beer selection? 10/10. Ambiance? 3/10. It felt like a classroom. Maybe that's what they are going for but I was hoping to have a fun night out and the place was dead silent, except for blaring fans, and brightly lit. Not a great vibe. To be fair, we went on a weeknight. Wines were delicious and high quality. I loved that they had customized flights. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. I just wished the ambiance was more inviting and less static.

What an outstanding gem in my hometown! I just adored our visit here. Such gracious friendly service and reasonably priced flights! We did the 20 for three glasses! Wow! My favorite was the True Myths Cabernet out of San Luis Obispo County. I'm hoping someday the Escondido wines become available by glass. So exciting! They even serve cheese plates! Hello! Great spot for out of towners visiting or business meetings! Shoot ladies nights too!!! I'm really looking forward to frequenting here! Bring your friends! OKAY WHERE TO START!!!!? So my husband and I decided to take a spontaneous night out in Escondido, (oh so fancy)... and we walked down Grand Ave for a bit and then decided to go elsewhere... BUT then I thought, OH WAIT BABE there is this new black owned wine bar in Esco we have to try....so we drive to SIP, get out and the fun begins! We were hesitant at first (there was a private party) but the owner, Cassandra, told us to come on in anyway, it is still open to the public. She was very welcoming, kind, and considerate of both parties. We browse through the menu and decided on the house moscato.. AMAZINGLY tasty, not too sweet, and just the right amount of subtle and soft on the tongue. We also ordered the cheese board which included a variety of cheese, grapes, bitchin sauce (A FAVE), and crackers. It was a nice little snack to go with the wine. The vibe of the place is very relaxing and warm. I love the simple decor and the open space. Just enough room to be close up with your loved one and still enough room to mingle if you wanted. The music is perfect. Not too loud or obnoxious, sets the mood right for a date night or a night out with the girls. Since my first visit, I've been back 2x and I will continue to do so. It's a great little gem in Escondido, and highly recommend for some quality time with your partner or a night out with friends. Oh and not to mention Cassandra hosts events there of all sorts, music, speaking events, etc. Happy to have a classy and welcoming spot in Esco! Cheers to SIP!

I have been wanting to check out Sip for a while, and I have to say sort of stumbled in here after dinner next door this past weekend with my wife and some friends. I am glad we did. While I will say for a Friday evening they were out of a few things on the menu that I just happened to ask for. Aside from that, the staff was awesome, having fun with my rouwdy little group, they have a great selection of wines and a few good beers of course.... and they had a food truck out front, a DJ spinning some music to get the mood going and a great selection of board games and such to make it a great place to hang out. All in all, I am looking forward to heading back to sample some more of their offerings and enjoy just hanging out. Thanks!

A local wine bar with fabulous owners make for an exciting addition to Escondido. SIP represents the continuing evolution of downtown Escondido; a revitalization of exactly how vivid the old with the new can be. Located near Escondido staples La Tapitia and Joe's Italian, SIP Wine and Beer injects a bit of pizzazz into the corner with modern tastes. The menu is simple - with over 60 wines rotating through the menu its a challenge to pick one you'd like each visit. SIP also features a short list of beers - all bottles - available for patrons less into wines, as well as flavored Pellegrino and Voss Sparkling water. Munchies accompany the wine - a chocolate board, a artisan cheese board, and a cheese and charcuterie meat board are all available. SIP also has a great staff headed by the two owners. You'll find them behind the counter or mingling with their patrons throughout, truly building relationships and ensuring everyone is well taken care of. If you are in the area and love wine, give SIP a shot because you never know what new passion you might find when you explore the lengthy wine list.

I want to warn anyone who visits that they may close before their listed hours. Came on a Saturday at 8PM, but they were closed when their hours state they close at 11PM. We came to celebrate a friend's birthday in which my friend confirmed with someone that we would come at 8PM. This was very disappointing and was an inconvenience as we had a group of 15 people and had to find somewhere else to go. I understand things happen where businesses have emergencies and have to close, however there was no emergency the person in charge just sent their employees home because it was slow. If that is the case I think they should have at least a one or two employees available in case someone stops by because that is very misleading to customers when your hours state one thing and you do the other. If you do plan on visiting I suggest calling before just to make sure they are open.

My husband and I went to Sip on a Thursday evening to check it out. The owners, Cassandra and Jeremy, were super friendly and wanted to make our experience relaxed and enjoyable - just what the parents of two little ones needs! Jeremy made good suggestions for the 3 wines we chose for our tasting. We enjoyed all of them. We also had the artichoke jalapeno dip. We were impressed by the serving size, and couldn't get over how amazing the dip was. We will definitely order it again. We are thrilled a wine bar has joined the downtown Escondido scene, and will continue to support it! I'm even hoping to host an event there in September for people who live in Old Escondido.

This is a hidden gem in Escondido! Very cute and cozy atmosphere with a large wine selection. The owner let us try a few wines before selecting a delicious Pinot from Oregon. They also had a few charcuterie boards that we didn't get a chance to try but they looked delicious.

Loved it! We enjoyed the wine selection very much. I was introduced to a new favorite wine (Daou Chardonnay) ... which is always fun... and i played some new games! It's super cool because it's spacious, they're very friendly and they have a stack of games to play ! Oh and there's often live music, so check the schedule! I have gone back a few times and am planning to plan a party there at some point!

What a lovely place! One guy was running the front and he was hustling. There are a lot of seats in here. I hope they get busier. The wine was perfect, just perfect. The meat and cheese plate was a huge winner. Highly recommend! Ambiance, decor, parking, all good! Give them a shot! Cheers!

Terrible wine selection and pricey. Food side items not very edible. Gave this place a try based on the stellar reviews. Bartender not very friendly. Place overall a little unwelcoming... felt a bias against me and my date as we aren't POC. Many other great places on and of grand Ave. pass on this place is my advice!

I love SIP! The atmosphere is nice and relaxed with comfy seating to chat or play games. The wine selection is awesome, the service is top-notch and always with a knowledgeable smile! Definitely recommend!!!

Cassandra welcomed me as soon as I walked in. She was very knowledgeable of the wines and explained each one before I purchased. I ended up buying 3 bottles and received a free can of SHE WINE. She was quick to reply to my emails in regards to scheduling an appointment due to COVID. Will definitely come back and continue to support this business. (:

Recently can here for a work event and I loved it. First, there was plenty of parking which is always a plus. I loved the atmosphere, chill, quaint and the staff was down to earth. Oh yeah, and wine was outstanding. Cool place. Would be really cool if some food trucks would pull up.

When meeting and conversing with her, you could tell she hand selects her wine collection offered to her customer. The place has a great vibe and ambiance!

This is a very cool place. My family was off to get desert and I wanted a beer. I dropped in on Friday night and got the full tour. The owners are a young married couple and both were very welcoming. There was a band playing mellow tunes making this the exact spot I needed to be for a cold one while enjoying some great vibes. Drop in, sip some wine or have a cold one. Great place and great people.

Stopped by last night with my boyfriend for wine flights. We loved it! The wines were delicious and the owners are very nice and welcoming. They even brought out some dried apricot to go with our white wines and chocolate Acai berries to go with our red wines. A very nice detail! The location is great, right off of Grand Avenue in downtown Escondido. The interior is clean and spacious, and they had some nice background music playing. They have a selection of games to play while you're there, too. There was a group playing Cards Against Humanity while we were there. I like that they are featuring local wines on their menu. You can do a flight of different tastes, or choose a glass or bottle of wine. They also have a small menu of appetizers. We didn't try any, but they had things like pita and hummus, and meat and cheese plates. I can definitely see myself stopping by here with friends or on a date to have a glass of wine and chit chat before going out to dinner in the area.

Great ambience and good selection of wine in North county is very rare, and I am glad I found out about Sip Wine and Beer. Also great place to host events such as birthday parties. They have a private room for such events.

Was so excited to check out this cute little spot in downtown Escondido! Loved everything about it! The location and atmosphere are great! The evening of our visit, they were hosting a private event in addition to having the tasting bar open. It's a great space for private events. They also have a backdrop for photos which was a fun idea! They have music bumpin', beautiful decor and games for guests to play as they SIP. The wine selections were awesome! Kassandra helped me and my friends select wines based on our individual tastes. I don't usually drink red wine, but Kassandra was able to find me one that I LOVED! The food was also delicious, more tapas style, which was great for the tastings. We had the Sipchetta and a large charcuterie plate. Both were amazing. This will definitely be one of our "go to" spots in downtown Esco! You have to check them out!
