Siphon

Excellent food. Traditional dishes, menu is solid over many decades, great choice for meat and fish devotees! This time we sat in the back near the field section and the service was good... We will keep coming back as always since the 80ies. The best food in Belgium ❤️ love the Sole Meunière... the Chateaubriand today was excellent!!!

Siphon doesn’t need reviews. This is something that doesn’t fit into contemporary dining. A third generation, 100+ year old restaurant can’t be judged by your average standards. Everything here is perfected and just-right. The servers wear white coats with golden buttons and shoulder-epaulettes. The tables are covered in red-white gingham. Side dishes are served in metal crockery you’ll recognise from your old school or that restaurant you and your parents used to go to. The staff are super capable, trained and straightforward. I suspect they’ve been here for quite some time. As for the menu: all classic for fair prices. I do recommend making a reservation, it gets pretty busy, as this is a very renowned place.

What a find! Very traditional Flemish restaurant just a stone’s throw from our Airbnb in Damme. We were warmly welcomed; with Jack Russell Mikey & enjoyed a lovely dinner. Generous portions, really tasty, simple, well prepared dishes & super friendly staff. Emily, our server was a delight 🥰 The roast chicken was melt in the mouth; the pork outstanding and the crème brûlée just perfect. Very busy; every table seemed to be full which is testament to the popularity of this place. We will happily return.

Arrived at the end of the lunch time. Restaurant was busy with many "senior" guests. Smell was not very pleasant, too much old oil and God knows what else. Spent more than 5 minutes standing at the door with "oogenblick alstublieft". Personnel just ignored us despite of premsence of empty tables. Don't recommend this place, unless you're 90 years old and have nowhere to be for the rest of your life.

Lovely neighborhood spot with delicious food. Service careful and attentive. Our dog was welcome, too. Food was excellent and regional. Recommended

We arrived at 15:15, sat for 15 minutes at an empty table, I had to catch the waiter myself, who walked back and forth to find out that the kitchen was already closed. If you want to have lunch or dinner - I do not recommend this place!! The service is just terrible! We had to get up and leave, because I think it would have taken another half hour to get the drinks.

Mixed feelings - food was great though service not so great.

Old world charm, values and setting. The sole was the best we had to far this season. Steak on a gril. Service was fast en Siphon has a happy cost atmosphere. Good value for money. Will certainly go back there again. In fact we are going there tomorrow night🥰🥰🥰🥰 oh and please dont miss out on a devine creme brûleè. Chrispy top is PAPER thin.
