NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"There’s a second, Upper West Side location of Sipsteria, a Georgian cafe and wine bar from Morningside Heights. The menus are the same at both locations, with classic Georgian food as well as snacky Mediterranean items and an interesting selection of Georgian and other wines." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

Google
Sipsteria (UWS) - have you been here? I was looking for a sophisticated but reasonable happy hour venue with my husband and found this lovely place that has recently opened in our neighborhood. During the day they are a charming coffee shop and in the early evening they convert to a wine bar with delicious Georgian appetizers and entrees. Standouts are the traditional Khachapuri cheese bread, Boquerones en Vinagre with Oven-baked Potatoes (marinated anchovies with potatoes), and a lovely selection of organic and natural low impact wines from Georgia, Moravian wine from the Czech Republic as well as wines from more familiar regions including France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain and the US. The food photos are a little haphazard, as we were voraciously eating our food before remembering to take pictures first, but hopefully they accurately represent the fare. Of note, the entire kitchen is behind the bar so you can watch the food alchemy that is occurring right before your eyes by the experienced and congenial team. We will definitely be back to enjoy their dinner menu for my birthday - if not before!

Reviewing just for coffee at the moment, but we'll return to try out their Georgian food. Ambiance and setup is very cozy. Service can be a little faster especially during coffee pick-up. Coffee was good too, Cappuccino's on a slightly expensive end, but understandable I guess!

Tried Silsteria Restaurant today — an excellent experience from start to finish. The dishes truly reflect the authentic taste of Georgia, crafted with great skill. Friendly and professional service made it even better. As a food blogger, I plan to return soon for a video review, pending management’s approval. A must-try for lovers of genuine Georgian cuisine.

Love this neighborhood spot! Was so excited to walk by during construction, and I’ve been a few times since it opened. Friendly service, and everything I’ve ordered — from pastries and coffee to dinner bites and wine — has been fantastic. Plenty of gluten-free options too. Sitting at the cute sidewalk tables is a must.

One of the interesting Georgian restaurants in NYC; they offer a good selection of Georgian food and wine; also they offer cocktails that use Georgian wine. Food is delicious and staff is really friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

On a whim stopped in for wine and also ordered the beet in plum sauce and traditional mushroom dumplings... Easily my new fave spot for Georgian spot.. the dumplings were incredible and the beet dish was absolutely delicious. Super casual spot with great food.

Super cute spot! We've been to the Sipsteria in Morningside heights and like it but this one is even cuter. More restaurant style and less cafe vibes. We sat at the counter and drank coffee for a couple hours. The other half of the restaurant was primarily drinking wine / dining in. They also have jazz nights weekly which would be awesome to check out. Definitely will be back!
