I usually get the vegan chick'n teriyaki, I should try other dishes too! I love the mock meats. The portions were generous and the mock chick'n is really realistic it is like eating the real thing. The flavor is intense. I used to like the Sipz location in a food court in an office park in Sorrento Valley. I thought that the menu was really innovative. Sipz is definitely a vegan experience in SD.

Google
We got the vegan wings, salt and pepper “chicken”, and the orange “chicken” and it was incredible. My partner and I are vegetarian/vegan and this is possibly the best vegan food we’ve ever had. The portions were large as well! The drinks were delicious too as they are partnering with a local brewery and the mango hard iced tea was so light and flavorful without being overly sweet. Cant recommend this place enough!

Sipz is a great little vegetarian restaurant in Downtown San Diego. It is small but worth the trip. The food is good and full of flavor. The rice however needed some work. The plates and utensils that are currently being used are throw away, dine out plates, due to the old Covid policy’s. Not a big deal, the food still tastes good. The restaurant could use some updating, it’s a bit run down. The bathroom could use some cleaning, the restaurant also. Lastly the customer service was on point. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would still recommend this restaurant for good vegetarian food. 4stars for the food.

Antonio

Google
4 stars because of the great customer service even though the waiter was completely alone running the entire dining area. They were clearly understaffed and he was clearly struggling but still did a great job. We ordered some sushi rolls but they were mediocre. One set was too spicy, the other one just plain. We will perhaps give this place another chance in the future but as of now there are certainly better vegan places in San Diego.

Google
Really a great place. Menu is big but ask staff and use most popular items as benchmark! Lots of vegan meats that are clearly different based on the dish— chicken in stir fry is deliciously fried v sautéed in a noodle dish. Really friendly staff and lots of deserts thought we didn’t get to try. Flavors/textures are great.

Google
It was my first time visiting this place and I was happy I did. I was craving grilled veggies and they had plenty of options to choose from. Each dish my group ordered was delicious. The portions were great and they had plenty of indoor seating. I don’t have a big sweet tooth but they had some delicious sweets in the front as well. I’d for sure go back.

One of my favorite restaurant in San Diego! Great selection of vegan dishes and the service is always amazing 👌 My partner and I really enjoyed this place. This is a must place to check out if you happen to be in the area. I like the Salt & Pepper dish and the Drunken noodles. They also have some great desserts to finish your meal. Highly recommended!!

Google
THE BEST! I was in San Diego only for 4 days and went to Sipz twice. I have never had better asian vegan food... it was so crazy delicious! The staff was super nice as well. Sushi is to die for and the portions very generous as well. I would definitely be a regular if I lived in San Diego. Can't wait to visit again 💜

Yelp
Food is INCREDIBLE. It's not called Sipz anymore, it's Rising Sun Collective. My bf eats meat, but got the vegan chick'n in his general tsao's double delight and was thoroughly impressed! I've been here twice and definitely will be back again.

Yelp
Although Sipz North Park has rebranded, they still carry a few Sipz vegan staples! Victor and Rick are exceptional! As always, chill vibes!

Yelp
We walked in around lunch time and the place was empty, all except for a friendly human ready to give us a great experience. After making the hardest decision of my week (their menu is wonderful) I decided to go with a classic kung pao "chicken" and my wife got a fiery noodle bowl with mock duck. Both were mind blowing. If I didn't know otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to tell that it was imitation meat, and the sauces were divine. Great portions too, I'm usually not a leftover guy but after having about half of my bowl I was actually satisfied and took the rest home (not wanting to finish my food and wanting to still have some to last helped as well). One other couple sat inside after us and the whole time they were there they were just raving about the food. North Park is full of fantastic spots and this place is truly a hidden gem among them that deserves some limelight! The only thing that got to me was that it was oddly quiet inside, but if you have the right people with you it's not a problem :)

Yelp
Service today was exceptionally SLOW at the north park location. My family and I have come to SIPZ for many years at both the north park and Clairemont locations. Today's experience was the worst we have ever had. They cut out 90% of the original menu and it took us 1 hour to receive ONE appetizer. It took us over 1 hour and 15 minutes to receive our first entree, and it was lukewarm at best once it was on the table. We are not sure why it took so long to receive our food and sincerely debated walking out after getting our appetizer. We'd suggest going to Clairemont if you are expecting the standard SIPZ menu and service. This was a Wednesday night and they only had four tables to take care of. If you cannot handle 4 tables on a WEDNESDAY NIGHT you should NOT be open. Please work out all your issues and open when you're capable of providing acceptable service.

Yelp
A low-key asian-inspired vegetarian spot with a fun and casual vibe. The Thai iced tea and the Watermelon and Cucumber Refresher were delicious but veryyy sweet (order accordingly if you prefer less or no sweetener). The appetizer plate was primarily an assortment of the usual deep fried items, but the spring roll was very fresh. The entree portions are really big - definitely can share amongst two and have leftovers. If you like spicy foods, this may not be the spot for you; the "extra hot" option is about a Thai 2-2.5 out of 5. There was only one person working when we were there during a weekend afternoon and she was super attentive and helpful despite being as busy as she was.

Yelp
This place is a great vegan/vegetarian restaurant. They've got a lot of options on their menu. The food is pretty good. Their fries were the perfect kind of crunch, I was a big fan! The kung pao bowl is pretty tasty but my curry dish was super salty. That was unfortunate but the waiter was awesome. He apologized and brought us over a free slice of ube cake. That was awesome!

Brooke V.

Yelp
I seriously cannot recommend this place enough! The prices, service, and food quality are all top tier. The portions are amazing and everything tastes wonderful! Never been disappointed the many times I've ate here, dine-in, take-out and delivery!

Jizzel L.

Yelp
Went to have a quick lunch here with a friend unexpectedly and they had many vegan options ! I tried the vegan pad Thai and it had so much flavor ! Plus the customer service was amazing :)
google avatar

Matt W.

Yelp
Popped in here really quick because I looked up vegan desserts and this had some good looking items. I was not expecting this amazing Ube cake on the menu and it was one of the best slices of cake I've ever had. Super moist! I might just stop in tomorrow to grab one before heading out of town. According to the blue zones documentary if you eat this cake every day you allegedly live to like 110 years old or something.

Yelp
Came back here again, it's been a few years. I was kind of disappointed. The bench that I was sitting on appeared damaged, the lighting was not that good, and the first table we were seated at was lopsided. On top of that, the food really did not sit right with either of us. After eating it, I did not feel good, and after that experience, I do not think I will come back. I would think noodles with coconut broth would be refreshing, but it was not. This place seems broken down compared to what it was back then.
google avatar

Nyssa B.

Yelp
First timer here... I honestly don't know why or how it's taken me so long to try this place. Let's start with food, the drunken noodles wow that plate was packed full they definitely aren't afraid to give you food. On to the crab rangoon *chefs kiss* so freaking good, I'll probably be having some dreams about them. Tom Kha Soup, WOW that coconut milk lime broth was to die for but I'd definitely skip on the mushrooms next time not a big fan. Sushi will definitely be a HARD pass for me next time just wasn't it for me, the rice was a little dry and didn't hold together well. Service was also not the greatest, but let's be real everywhere is kinda going through it right now so I won't be basing my review off that. Overall, I will be back to try some more things on the menu! Glad to have a restaurant like this close to home.
google avatar

Raye P.

Yelp
Lovely spot with a huge selection of vegan cuisine. Server was attentive and courteous. Clean and bright in-house dining. The food was generously portioned and beautifully presented. Definitely bookmarked for our next time in SD.
google avatar

Sami L.

Yelp
I dined in for the first time. Although the food was good (not overly great, but definitely enjoyable), the service was really, really slow and the benches to sit on were very uncomfortable. I ordered the Siamese Thai and the Mongolian and they were simply just good. It seems like the service was slow because there were A LOT of take out orders, and only one guy working. The menu has a lot of options, and it's meat-free. It was a little too expensive for the taste in my opinion. I would recommend sitting in the chairs, and stay away from the wall benches (they're really sunken in and broke). It is all street parking, but it's in a pretty cool area. Parking can be challenging, but doable and you most likely won't have to pay (unlike downtown).
google avatar

Tara M.

Yelp
Bomb ass vegan food!!! Their Tom kha soup is amazing! I like to get it with tofu. I can't wait to try the sushi. Yum.
google avatar

Jaymie T.

Yelp
One of the hardest foods to find since becoming vegan is good Chinese food but this place hits the spot! We tried a sushi roll, the pho, and the general Tao "chicken" and tofu and all 3 were delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes.
google avatar

Cj L.

Yelp
Probably the best vegan restaurant i've ever been to. Everything tasted amazing and is 100% authentic and homemade. There were so many things to try and the service was fantastic. Loved the whole vibe of this place. I might just move to san diego so I can eat here regularly

Yelp
Sips is one of the few places in North Park that has been around for several years. Well before the breweries and popular restaurants came through. I have always absolutely loved their food. Their chick'n curry, noodle soups very tasty as well as their coconut cake. Never disappointed.

Yelp
Beautiful gorgeous stunning lovely lady working always so sweet and kind food is bussingggg
google avatar

Yelp
Take into consideration this review is based on a door dash order - the food was incredibly bland , I will never order again . Dry , tasteless . No imagination , creativity .... Too many great places in SD to waste my time on over priced cardboard . I know that's harsh but when you spend over $30 -$50 on a delivery it should be at bare minimum acceptable . Worst delivery experience so far .
google avatar

Drew H.

Yelp
Everything about this place is spot on. The Thai fried rice and kung pao is epic. For dessert, the cheesecake brownie is great.

Madeline O.

Yelp
The food is so good here!! This place was introduced to me by a friend, their menu options are good and I've never ordered something I didn't like. I highly recommend

Yelp
I discovered this place when I stopped by the north park area. I was visiting San Diego and I was exploring the north park area when I found this place. I liked that everything here was vegetarian. I decided on trying the pork bun, walnut shrimp, and vegan crab rangoons. The pork bun was my favorite part! It aaa $3.50 and the bun was super fluffy like a pillow. They nailed the texture and flavor of the bbq pork in the bun as well. The walnut shrimp was good but I wasn't a fan of the walnuts. It just tasted like they just threw in some roasted walnuts in it. It didn't feel like it go very well with the mayo and shrimp. The vegan crab rangoons were perfectly crispy, and you can taste the fake crab but you couldn't taste the vegan cream cheese very well. The servers were attentive and friendly with their service. I liked that they would check up on us and make sure we enjoyed our food. They would also give us great recommendations when we didn't know what to get.
google avatar

Shanine E.

Yelp
I went over a month ago and don't recall what I ordered (whoops!) but I do remember they all tasted great! The cream cheese rangoons were soo crispy outside and nice and soft inside. It was perfect. Great ambiance especially when it's raining outside. And my server was very attentive and helpful. Thank you, Sipz!
google avatar

Yelp
I love eating vegetarian food that doesn't scream I'M PLANTS! I'm not vegetarian, but I am starting to dabble more and be more intentional about when and why I eat meat. I tried Sipz for takeout and was so impressed. Their "chicken" was great. Their medium spice was a pretty accurate medium. There were definitely more vegetables than my normal spots which I loved. I also had enough for two meals! The price is affordable and you can order online. Looking forward to exploring more of their menu!
google avatar

Caitriona R.

Yelp
Used to come here three or four years ago. Quality no longer great. Disappointed. Serve food in to-go boxes. Sushi was dry and uninteresting, much of it with some sort of vegan spam. Won't be coming back.
google avatar

Marcela G.

Yelp
Their hours say 9 pm but when I called at 8 pm I was told they are not seating anyone because they had to be done by 9 So only take out is available They should not post their hours for 9 pm I'm glad I called because if I'd have driven there and be told that I'd have been very upset! Management really needs to get in the game.
google avatar

Yelp
HOW DID I JUST DISCOVER THIS PLACE !!?? Honestly bummed it took me so long to try this place and probably will be a weekly regular now. To start, I'm not vegetarian at all... quite the opposite actually and I LOVED the salt & pepper dish with fried tofu and brown rice. So much flavor here and if you love garlic, Definitely order this! Medium spice was perfect and with chili oil. I also LOVED the vegan crab ragoons. I haven't ragoon alternatives to my dairy intolerance and I wish I could buy a frozen box of these. Yum. 5/5

Yelp
Came to sipz after not being here for a few years and it's just how I remembered it. The food is still just as yummy and the pastries are the best! Nicole was our server and was very accommodating to us. Very relaxing stop to take my 2 year old to after our hike. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
super depressing dine-in experience. plastic red cups with warm water, paper plates, plastic forks...everything in small plastic to-go containers . music was free pandora (with ads) out of a small speaker lol. the food itself was good, consistent flavor from last time. prices are higher than before yet the presentation is like i'm in a third world country. there was only one host / server person for the entire place so multiple tables were filthy the entire time. the person seemed frazzled and overworked. i don't know if this place is going out of business but it sure felt that way. i'll stick to paying more for delivery and avoid this cringey experience next time. **also- the bathroom had no paper towels, toilet paper, or seat covers. really bad look.
google avatar

Katrina P.

Yelp
This place is just short of great. If you go for sushi, potstickers, or mango sticky rice, it's a 10/10 but other menu items I've tried like the broccoli stir fry and walnut shrimp were just okay. The dine in experience isn't the nicest though it is vegetarian so the price point is higher. Personally, I usually stick to take out. Also, I wish the sushi was available more often, especially because vegetarian sushi is hard to find. My recommendation, get the sushi and you will be in love anything else, try at your own risk.
google avatar

Dana P.

Yelp
This place used to be legendary but it feels super different now. It used to be packed but we were the only people in the whole place, and the food still took a long time. They're still using disposable everything for dine-in, which is really depressing. The pandemic is over, sis! We got the crab rangoons, which were good, and the barbecue chicken, which was carelessly slathered with way too much sauce. Why not toss them? Probably because they're not doing dishes anymore. We tried to get sushi but it wasn't available. It's really sad to say that I don't plan on coming back to Sipz any more.
google avatar

Vanessa W.

Yelp
I just ordered through door dash and I'm very disappointed. I ordered steamed tofu teriyaki with veggies and I received tofu and veggies swimming in teriyaki water. It's like a soup and its soggy and gross. I also ordered spring rolls which tasted okay but smelled terrible. I'm baffled by this experience tbh.
google avatar

Bao-Y H.

Yelp
Great Asian fusion vegetarian restaurant. This is a long overdue review since I visited a long time ago but I was reminded of it when I looked at my old photos. I actually went there twice during my short trip to SD. At the time I was vegetarian and my dietary restrictions took me here, I was not disappointed. I ordered the Tangy Orange and appetizer sampler. If I was ever back in the area I would go again!

ildifonso c.

Yelp
They don't pick up their phone for pick up orders and parking is horrible. I've been there before and the food is great but it's really not accessible.
google avatar

Sheridan M.

Yelp
My fave vegetarian place ever! And I'm not even a vegetarian. It's so good every time. I usually get the orange chicken but I wanted to try something different for a change. Our server Tiffany was so friendly and helped me pick out a delicious dish! I got the salt and pepper shrimp and it was the perfect thing for me. I loved how the shrimp had a crunchy breading, then it had crisp romaine lettuce, fried garlic, jalapeño and broccoli. The sauce it came with was good as well! I ordered mild and I wish I got medium because it wasn't very spicy at all. Nothing a squirt of Sriracha can't fix! Also must haves: Thai tea, Garlic fries and the fried crispy rolls.

Olivia P.

Yelp
Sadly not very good. Their Chai was delicious! My Tom kha was pretty tasty too but the rest was mediocre. I didn't like that the drinks (Chai and thai iced tea) came in a single use plastic cup when we were dining in. The appetizer plate was a weird combo and was just okay. My friend had a teriyaki plate which was served in a bowl, the rice swimming in a sauce that was certainly not teriyaki. She only ate less than half. My husband ordered a chow mein which was a huge portion but unfortunately it didn't taste that good.
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
Wow the food here is AMAZING. I absolutely love their TJ roll, Tom yum soup, and salt and pepper chicken with broccoli. This restaurant values their quality food and it SHOWS. It can be difficult finding quality food as a vegetarian because you have to really find places that know how to season their mock meat well, and there's only so few of them compared to just driving to McDonald's or a Popeyes just around the corner. so I can't find good vegan "chicken" just anywhere. This place makes me so proud to be vegetarian:) thank you for existing in San Diego!
google avatar

I'mMike B.

Yelp
This place is NOT cheap by any means.... The food is typically great! 10/10. But tonight, (Christmas Day) this place a bad taste in my mouth. Our pad Thai had no sauce in it, whatsoever. We called the restaurant in order to fix the issue but were extremely disappointed when they refused to adequately fix the issue in a timely manner. After four phone calls, and sending them images of the sauceless "sad thai" they offered to compensate one of the orders, not both, the next time we came in. So tonight we're having PB&J, which tastes a hell of a lot better than the heap of plain noodles from this place. Customer service: 0/10 Food quality: inedible
google avatar

Yelp
CURBSIDE PICKUP Supporting local during the Pandemic as much as I can but this place was a first and last for me. There wasn't much options when the Shelter In Place/Stay At Home order was set into place. Some restaurants were open while others were not. Some were thru certain delivery services, some weren't using delivery services. I ended up cutting out the middle-man and additional fees and picked up my own food after calling in the order. FOOD. Pad Thai ($12)- Rice noodles stir fried w/ bean sprouts, onion, basil, and tofu in a Thai flavored tamarind sauce topped with salty crushed peanuts. I only ordered this because my friends and I had a FaceTime Virtual Dinner across different cities and states and the theme was "Asian". I wanted something healthy and went for ToFu Pad Thai. It was one of the most blandest and colorless Pad Thai I have ever had - very disappointing. The taste was not authentic, the color was a khaki (yes, i said khaki), the portions were decent, but the price was a rip-off. Do Not Recommend. Crab Rangoon ($7) - creamy vegan cream cheese combined with "vegan" crab. This was actually good. Nice crispiness and the filling was flavorful. Recommend. Cupcake ($3.5) - nothing special about their cupcakes. SERVICE. Please tell your staff to lay off whatever they were doing, the server seemed v-e-r-y disconnected. I came to pick it up and after telling her my name name multiple times she kept referring to me as Pam. Who the f* is Pam? I even corrected her and she still kept referring me to Pam. I came here when SD had started the uphill climb the coronavirus infections. The server was telling me this place is safe (she was not wearing mask or gloves) but had told me the cooks in the back all have masks and that SD only has 34 infections. It was end of March and we actually had 519 positive cases, her misinformation made me scratch my head and wonder what the hell she was smoking. I also asked her to include a chocolate cupcake to the order and she kept saying "we don't have chocolate cupcakes"... but I clearly read a sign that says "chocolate cupcakes" and a handful of cupcakes behind the sign. I had to bring her around the glass case to see what I was reading and she was like "that's not chocolate cupcakes, Pam". Okay - stop starring at me, correct the sign, and give me the cupcake?! I am at a lost for words with this server. And for the last time, my name isn't Pam. On to the next review...
google avatar

Svetlana L.

Yelp
Hi everyone who are reading this. I'd like to say that this place is wonderful. Probably a little expensive. BTW, we have ordered philly roll (was good), garlic jalapeño fries (too salty for me) and baked teriyaki roll (was fine). Total amount was $33.40 for pick-up. Please see photos of our order attached.

Yelp
Wow Fantastic place! Insane amount of vegan options!! Came here on a Friday night for the $6 Pad Thai with Tofu. The price brought us in but this place really blew me away. The staff (Bidi) was kind and very helpful for us first timers. Vegan Pad Thai was good but could be better with a little more variety and less noodles. The fried fried tofu was great and you really can't beat the Friday price. It's still worth it on the non-happy hour price. Caterpillar Roll was great! They used mushrooms that they marinated in eel sauce to get the flavor! Very cool and great with an extra line of sriracha! They really pack in the Avocado too! Vietnamese Banana Pie I cannot recommended this meal enough!! Best dessert I've had in a long long time! If you like banana bread even a little then this will blow your mind! It's dense banana cake filled with banana and topped with a delightful coconut cream sauce and peanuts. Carrot Cake Great! Dense, moist, and absolutely full of cream "cheese" Goodness. This was the best carrot cake ive had as a vegan by a long shot! I meant to have a bite and couldn't stop myself til it was gone! Vegan Peanut Butter Brownie Sundae Great! Nice fudgy moist Brownie with a generous scoop of ice cream. What's not

Yelp
Hundreds of reviews for Sipz so I can't really add anything more except that I am glad that I FINALLY get to review this place. I have walked in here numerous times over the past five years to give them a try only to be ignored at the counter. About four months ago, I gave them ONE LAST try because while I like Riki Sushi, it's become over run with drunks guzzling down their drink specials and some of the rudest customers I have ever encountered. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately by a very friendly server. I perused the menu and found TOO many delicious vegan choices! :D I have to confess that I have been here five times now and my favorite dish is their vegan bun with steamed tofu. Their fresh spring rolls are also very good and I love their peanut sauce. My husband ordered the Thai Fried Rice with Fried Tofu and oh my gosh that was the biggest serving I have ever seen! My husband is slender and is a distance runner, he can put away some serious food. When we go out, he usually polishes off his plate and then half of mine. There was so much fried rice that he threw in the towel and ate the rest for dinner. I tried it and it is very, very good. I will definitely be back again to try some other items that they have there, I really like the atmosphere (I go in the off hours), the people are friendly too. One disappointment was their cheesecake (vegan), it was awful, the taste is something I will never forget. They don't make the cheesecake so it's not Sipz that made it. Otherwise, the food that they make is pretty decent.

Yelp
So excited to have finally tried this and the options of vegan sushi and other vegan fare. They only offer sushi all day on Fridays and Saturday's and limited hours during the week. Service is quick and friendly. Looking forward to trying it again.
google avatar

Marissa W.

Yelp
Food here is alright but truly nothing to write home about. I've gotten a variety of the vegan sushi and appetizers in the past and everything is just pretty bland. Honestly looking back at the menu I can't even remember what I've ordered as it just doesn't stand out. The one positive is the coconut cake they have which is vegan and pretty good. I would possibly order that in the future, however, as far as anything else I would definitely pass. Service also sucks from my experience. 3 stars because it's kinda just there in the middle... definitely could be worse

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled upon Sipz after a yoga class next door. It's vegetarian/vegan AND it was happy hour so we lucked out. Everything was freaking delicious, really. The Cali sushi roll was heavy on the sauce but still so good; I can't wait to try some of their more intricate rolls. Entrees were great, too. The portions are huge. PS: dog approved. My husband left his pad Thai takeout on our ottoman before going to work the next day and his lunch became our dogs sneaky breakfast. He didn't even get sick!

Yelp
Sipz was phenomenal! I I accidently found this place when I ate at the Mexican Resturaunt next door. I was pleasantly surprised to find they have all vegan food, including sushi (my weakness besides breakfast lol!)! Everything was freaking delicious! My boyfriend and I shared some cream cheese wantons... yum! They were crunchy, crispy, rich and tasty! I ordered 3 sushi rolls and they did not disappoint! They were all so unique and full of flavor! My boyfriend ordered the thai curry with tofu, and he absolutely loved it! We also got brownies to go, and those were wonderful! Chocolately, soft but firm and decadent af! The customer service was superb! The restaurant and bathrooms were very neat and clean. If you get the chance, check out Sipz--you won't regret it!
google avatar

Yelp
Everything on the menu is vegan/vegetarian and it's delicious. We ordered the steamed pot stickers, broccoli beef, kung pao chicken, brownie and raspberry cheesecake. Service and prices are excellent, definitely coming back again!

Yelp
My friends somehow convinced me to go to Sipz. You see I say that because I don't generally go to vegetarian or vegan places but they insisted and I went and I really appreciate them for bringing me along because this place hit the spot. I had the buns and drunken noodles and it was amazing! In fact, better than most places. This may be extremely random but GET THE LEMONADE, extremely delicious and fresh. Would I go back again absolutely! Would I bring friends, you bet!

Yelp
Great place, amazing vegan cuisine. I remember 15 years ago eating at the first Sipz on University. Expansive menu is 95 percent vegan, so you should make yourself aware which are not vegan with your server. They have great deserts also. Casual with street parking.
