Montreal Restaurants Work Around Outdoor Dining Ban With City Parks | Eater Montreal

"I saw that Laurier Park has become a focal point for restaurateurs’ picnic-style deliveries — it was one of the parks served by Darna Bistroquet and was the destination for Bar Mamie’s charcuterie and wine drop-offs as diners headed to the park for impromptu outdoor meals." - Valerie Silva

2024. There's lots of access down to the river's edge. Public washrooms are available and seem fairly accessible. Free parking. Many BBQ pits for big groups and lots of picnic tables which you can reserve. Large, open areas, shady seating areas, with a nice playground tucked away in a cool, shaded spot. So many huge, old, wise trees to hug. Well kept paths with comfortable lookouts over the beautiful North Saskatchewan river. Lots of happy dogs playing in the water. Boat launch available. It's a comfortable stroll over the Buena Vista footbridge to Hawrelak Park (currently closed), then further on, some medium challenging slopes around the golf course to Emily Murphy Park, which also has public washrooms. Except for one short, steep dip, E-bikes would be fun, an E-scoot might be more of a challenge on the riverside pathway.

Walking trails, picnic sites, playground 🛝, public washrooms and plenty of parking make this park a beautiful and fantastic outdoor area to be enjoyed by all. The North Saskatchewan River Valley has lots to offer and Sir Wilfred Laurier Park is a gem. Fun for all the family. Added bonus is that it is right next to the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Come for a good time and you won’t be disappointed or bored.

Beautiful park near the Edmonton Zoo. Easy access with lots of walking biking trails. Picnic sites can be reserved for gatherings. Excellent location for bbq with friends and family. We recently checked out the Silver Skate Festival and saw some cool snow sculptures.

This park is great. Lots of walking trails, picnic tables, benches, fire pits. Plenty of space to play all kinds of sports, activities. There is a playground for kids. Sir Wilfred Park is our regular go to in summer time. Excellent place for family and events. Restroom is also available on site. Pets are welcome. I highly recommend this park.

Beautiful with lot's of green space and picnic spot. You may need to book ahead to use these picnic shelters. Many people use this park for birthday celebration and other types of celebration. You can also get a close view of the river if you walk through the nearby foot trails. Parking can be difficult on a busy day at the park otherwise, there are many free parking spots on a quite day. Temporary restroom are on site. It's also a great spot to visit in winter as you get a chance to see the frozen river.

Beautiful park with spacious picnic areas. We hosted an event here, and the booking and reservation experience went well. Wish there was more frequent service at the bathroom when the parks are packed. Would definitely host other events here.

One of my favorite spots! The park is so beautiful and peaceful, with plenty of green space and trees. It feels like a little oasis right in the middle of the city. The paths are well-kept and perfect for a leisurely walk or bike ride. The views of the North Saskatchewan River are really lovely, especially on a sunny day. There are plenty of picnic areas with tables and benches, which is great if you want to bring some food and spend a few hours. I saw lots of families doing just that, and kids were playing on the playground nearby. The atmosphere is really relaxed and friendly, and it's nice to see so many people enjoying the outdoors. There's also plenty of parking, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot.

It was a real pleasure to facilitate technology here for the Michelob Edmonton Night Run! Beautiful venue, we had a lot of fun highlighting the fall colours in the trees by uplighting them, and the ground was even enough for safe work with staging, ladders, truss, and all of the transportation thereof. The only reason I gave the place four stars instead of five is that the city really should automatically consider closing the road that winds through the park (to vehicles, at least) when they know there is going to be an event that requires building of truss structures in the middle of the road, which involves having a technician on a ladder. Drivers can be pretty aggressive, but why?? It's a park on a nice fall day. Try bringing your bicycle instead of your Durango, maybe...??? Anyways... still had a great time and hope to come back 💪🏽👊🏽💥🤟🙂

Yelp
This was such an amazing place! We took our daughter here for the day in September. We came early and grabbed a daycamp site near the playground. She had such a blast! The playground is amazing so many neat things to do, climb, jump and explore. Seriously a great place to bring kids who are very active. We had a fire in the camp site and cooked our lunch and even set up a tent so we could relax and have a nap. We also went for a long walk along the river bank and just enjoyed nature. It was such a lovely day!

Yelp
The park has several picnic spots around the circle road as well as a few more secluded spots off the far corner towards the river (follow the bike path). The large picnic spots are through reservations. There is a boat launch area suitable for hand launch boats (kayaks and canoes) as well as for boat trailers. The grass is always maintained throughout the park and the bbq grills and picnic tables are generally kept in great shape. As with many other public parks, remote lavatories are rarely immaculate, but the main ones are usually kept tolerable. No dogs are allowed but the adjacent Buena Vista dog park is just across the main entrance.

Yelp
This is a great dog park in the city. Amazing views, trails and lots of space to enjoy. It's great to have so much natural space to go to on an evening for a walk. We have a small dog who isn't the most social but it is a good place for him to work on his social skills. It's great for people with dogs who love to swim because there is direct access to the river. It is usually quite busy because it is a popular park. There are plenty of benches throughout for relaxing. It's a quick drive for us from downtown to be enjoying a beautiful park this city has to offer.
