We had a wonderful dinner experience at Siraj in Dubai in late JAN. We originally had a reservation for four at 7:00 pm, but arrived closer to 6:00—and our party unexpectedly doubled to eight. The staff was incredibly accommodating, quickly reconfiguring our table and giving us plenty of time to wait for the additional guests to arrive. That level of flexibility and hospitality really set the tone for the evening.
Siraj is located on the far east end of the Burj Khalifa lake complex. We were seated outside, which offered a beautiful partial view—roughly the top third—of the Burj Khalifa, which lights up dramatically throughout the evening. While the fountain shows aren’t visible from the restaurant, the atmosphere is still very special, especially after sunset when the Dubai heat drops. It was a bit breezy at times, but the kitchen thoughtfully covered the dishes as they came out, keeping everything warm and enjoyable.
Our larger group ordered a wide variety of menu items, and everything was excellent. I had a combination plate with lamb lollipops and assorted kebabs, which was outstanding. We also shared several hummus varieties with fresh Arabic bread that was simply amazing.
Our group is used to having cocktails with dinner, and Siraj does not serve alcohol, which—along with the lack of fountain views and the limited Burj Khalifa view—were the only minor drawbacks of the night. That said, the food, service, and atmosphere more than made up for it.
Overall, Siraj fully lives up to its strong reputation. Outstanding service, excellent food, and a memorable setting make this a place I’d happily recommend and return to.
