The Best Resorts in the World: 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards

"Built by second generation Kenyans and conservationists, Sirikoi’s got a main lodge, a three-bedroom house, and two- and four-bedroom tents facing a watering hole for great armchair game viewing. The feeling that you’ve entered a private home suffuses the place, from the lovingly tended gardens to the heirlooms collected by the family over the years. In addition to morning and evening game drives, you can do a bush walk with a ranger, horseback ride across the plains, fly in a helicopter up to Mount Kenya to go fly fishing, or do a quad bike safari for an overnight campout." - CNT Editors

Sirikoi Lodge | World's best safari camps for families | Bucket List Travels

"This elegant camp, owned by Kenyan legend Willie Roberts, is set in the Lewa Conservancy in the north of the country, and blessed with prolific game. In mere days you might see it all – the Big Five, including both kinds of rhino, cheetah and leopard. Lewa is known as one of Africa’s key reserves for the preservation of both black and white rhino (regularly seen). With just six tents and two cottages, Sirikoi feels like an intimate home from home, thanks to the capacious living spaces, polished staff and delicious, locally-sourced food. The variety of activities is a special bonus – from Masaai village visits to fly-camping, and unusual biplane, helicopter, camel and horseback safaris. Sirikoi can arrange overnight quad biking excursions, where you sleep in camp beds with mosquito nets underneath the starry sky. This is a warm, reassuring camp whose family comforts are as appealing as its wildlife " - Lisa Grainger

We loved Sirkoi! Sue and her team are fantastic. Out of all of places we stayed in E. Africa the Lewa conservancy and Sirikoi was fantastic. Our guide Sam was fabulous and we saw such rare animals. Black and white rhinos, grevy zebras, Somali ostriches-I could go on and on. I went horseback riding which was amazing on the Savanah. Did I mention our beautiful tent, great food, fantastic staff. I surprised my husband for a milestone birthday with Masai dancers and it was marvelous. Go on the “back of the house tour” to see how sustainable the camp is. We met Kiko the resident half wild giraffe which was a treat. We hated to leave. Sue is such a gracious host, we felt like family. We will be coming back and staying longer on this gem of a camp!

This was my third African safari and, by far, this was the most beautiful of the tented camps I visited! Elegance, nature and an exceptional staff ensures a great experience. Dining among the trees watching herds of impalas, elephants and the local giraffe pass by is amazing. The tents are private and luxurious! Staff are super friendly and accommodating and genuinely seem happy to be there. Drivers are exceptional at spotting and finding the elusive animals! If we could live there we would!!!!

Sirikoi and Lewa has left a very special place in our hearts. Everything about our experience was exceptional. Coming from a hospitality background, I could truly appreciate the love and care that was put into everything. You can feel it. From the staff who are genuine, happy and proud of their work to the focused conservation and sustainability efforts in solar power, recycling, organic vegetable/fruit garden, home made furniture, local eco-friendly products and giving back to the local community. And the wildlife....wow! What a privilege it was to spend time with animals in their home environment - cape buffalo, lions, impala, rhinos, zebra, giraffe and more! Special mention to our Masai guide who was above-amazing - Legei! We miss Sirikoi and hope to be back someday! In the meantime, this is the go-to place in Kenya for an unforgettable safari adventure!

We loved Sirikoi Lodge and our safari experience there. Our tent was more than comfortable, the staff was great, the food was delicious and fresh, our guide was terrific and we saw dozens of animals in their habitat. Take the back lot tour to appreciate the property and many sustainability practices. Loved it!

Incredible. Everything about this place is wonderful. The accommodations, the wildlife viewing, non game-watching activities to fill the time between morning and evening rides, but most of all the staff. Make sure and do the back-of-house tour and if interested the Bush Walk and/or the Forest Walk where you end at a waterfall for a swim!

Wow! What a truly phenomenal experience. The team at Sirikoi truly went above and beyond from the moment we arrived! The entire team was so welcoming and warm - polished without being stuffy, five star without being corporate. Our guide Ngila was amazing. The entire staff who supported our house was just exceptional. The food was delicious / every meal we ate was wonderful (and we are food snobs from New Orleans). The welcome gifts were a nice touch - we used the tote bags and to go cups the whole trip! We also loved Nditu (the resident giraffe)!! This was the only time during the trip we saw rhinos (so many!) - since this was our first stop we didn’t realize how special it was until we talked to people at our other stops (in other parts of the country) who did not see one rhinoceros their whole trip! Also - the trip to the Lewa Conservency Operations center was truly inspiring. What an impact. Would recommend Sirikoi hands down!

Sirikoi Camp is a very magical place. The story about how it came to be is beautiful— be sure to take the garden tour to see how much of their own food they produce and how they recycle almost everything! Every single member of the staff is so warm and welcoming and always with a big smile on their face. They even surprised us with a bush breakfast one morning! We would especially like to thank Vincent for taking such good care of us and our beautiful tent. Legei was our guide — he is an amazing guide. He gave us a beautiful sighting of a lioness who shared a kill with 3 cubs. We still wonder how he managed this and then a leopard sighting on the way back to camp. We also had some wonderful elephant sightings and rhinos. Thank you, Legei for sharing your knowledge and life with us. And also a big thank you to everyone at Sirikoi Camp.

We cannot recommend Sirikoi and the Lewa Conservancy enough! As a former hospitality professional, I am very picky when it comes to where I stay. From the moment we were greeted at Lewa airstrip by our amazing guide Legei, to him waiting and waving at our plane as we left - the experience was one we will never forget! Sirikoi is a very special place. The accommodations are very comfortable, clean and functional with thoughtful details like local, eco-friendly products and local art as well as furniture and glassware made by the lodge staff. Their one acre sustainable garden grows most of the fruit end vegetables that you will eat - delicious! The staff are all hard working, happy and genuine. The story behind Sirikoi was shared with us by the owner, Sue, herself - which was lovely. The management staff - Maria, Vincent (Annick who helped), Charlie always had time to share a tea and conversation and give us insight into the operation and all the thought and love put into it. And the game drives were amazing!!!! Legei, our Massai guide had a sixth sense to know where and when to look for wildlife and we shared some great moments with him! He also arranged for several meals out in the bush which we well catered and presented. We hope to return to Sirikoi some day! In the meantime, we strongly recommend anyone planning a Kenyan safari experience to stay here and enjoy!
