Sirkeci Mansion Hotel | Best places to stay in Istanbul | Bucket List Travels

"Overlooking the tall trees and flower-trimmed avenues of Gulhane Park, this traditional, affordable and charming hotel is ideal for a first visit to Istanbul – it’s within walking distance of nearly all of the city’s best-known sights. Set in a traditional Ottoman-style mansion (konak) filled with stylish local details, there’s a breakfast buffet with savoury Turkish pies and other authentic goodies as well as a lovely outdoor terrace for breakfasts and sundowners.   The owners are firm believers in responsible tourism and sustainability, and go out of their way to help you experience the best of the city. The hotel offers free activities every week – just for hotel guests – including Turkish cooking lessons, wine tastings, foodie tours and neighbourhood walking tours. There are special family-sized rooms, and kids are treated like royalty. A great-value, local-feeling place to stay.  " - Dana Facaros

We stayed at Sirkeci Mansions hotel for four nights and had a wonderful time. The location is excellent. We were able to walk or take the Tram to everywhere we wanted to go. The rooms were extremely clean and the bed comfortable. We had a room overlooking the park which was very nice. The best part of the hotel was the staff- everyone was so friendly and helpful. I started communicating with Aga(Okay) long before the trip. He helped with airport transfers, restaurant reservations and always answered emails promptly. He was quite amazing. The hotel provides FREE walking tours with Okay. It was one of our highlights in Istanbul as it was extremely informative and entertaining. Breakfasts were also excellent. If you are looking for a small boutique hotel experience in Istanbul this is IT!!!!

This hotel is located on the European side of the city within walking distance of major tourist attractions and surrounded by restaurants and shops of all varieties. We stayed in a standard room which had a room safe, tea/coffee making equipment, excellent air conditioning and a small fridge. The room was spotless and cleaned daily. There were also complimentary bottles of water for each day. The shower had good temperature, storage and power points were limited but we use packing capsules and carry multi point charges so we managed. Our package included breakfast which was a mix of cold and hot dishes (sweet and savoury) fresh juice and tea/coffee. There is a comfortable lounge, sauna, pool and gym and in house massage can be booked at reception. All staff are welcoming and very friendly. We arranged a laundry service in house (charged by the kilo) and a staff member went to collect it when it was not returned at the allotted time. There is a complimentary afternoon tea and reception will send postcards for only the cost of postage. Our booking was made through Fez Travel whose office is just 30 meters from the hotel and who were very efficient and helpful (see separate review).

Within walking distance of Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque etc this is right in the heart of tourist town Istanbul so expect vendors & restaurant to tout for business, constantly. The street is narrow and not a thoroughfare so it's quiet. Plus it's opposite a large park so even less noise. Rooms are clean, staff are friendly and helpful. An English guest told us the story of being ripped off by a local hairdresser - the hotel staff stepped in and saved him paying 10x the amount quoted. Breakfast is average but not exceptional for Turkey. Good value for money.

Amazing hotel. Staff couldn't do more to help and were so welcoming. Location is excellent no more than 15 minutes to some key sites with others easily reached by walking/tram. Rooms were clean and spacious with comfortable beds. Pool and hammam were a fantastic bonus after a long day sightseeing. Breakfast was delicious - variety of options was good. Also their afternoon tea sweet bagel was amazing!

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights. It’s a great location in the middle of Istanbul. The tram is located only a few mins away. The hotel was very quaint throughout with a nice breakfast and afternoon tea from 3-5. Rooms were a nice size and very clean. I eat in local restaurants, don’t be afraid to bargain on price, or take a day trip to the Asian side for a more relaxed vibe and good value restaurants.

Great location to do all the tourist sights (though otherwise I probably wouldn't stay in this area - it is a bit too touristy). Rooms were large and comfortable. Breakfast was OK. Most importantly staff were very friendly and helpful - recommending their favourite eating places in less well trodden parts of the city.

It was our first visit to Istanbul and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel. Perfect location in a quiet neighborhood yet close to all the main attractions. The staff was extremely helpful with everything. Next visit to Istanbul will definitely be at the same hotel.

Our stay at Hotel Sirkeci Mansion was unforgettable. Ohay’s hospitality and passion for his country turned four days in Istanbul into so much more than a hotel stay. From cooking classes where we shared the joy of eating our own meal without paying for a single ingredient, to a Wednesday tour where he surprised us with bagels, water, and ice cream — every detail felt generous and genuine, never an extra charge.||These little experiences gave us the confidence to explore the city like locals, discovering places that were consistently good and honest value.||Our room was perfectly balanced — comfortable, spotless, and full of character, with the most beautiful park view. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, and thanks to Beyhan, the kindest housekeeper, the room was always cared for with warmth and attention.||I truly wish I could take this hotel with me in all my travels: small, authentic, clean, full of character, and made unforgettable by the people who run it.
