I'm obsessed with this place. went with some friends n got a fish soup for myself (along with some sides to share) n I can't recommend it enough. super big portion for the price, great texture variation without anything becoming overly soggy, really strong + balanced flavor. service was some of the friendliest I've ever experienced + was fully accommodating towards my friend's dietary restrictions. we even got served an extra side for free :'3333 will Definitely be coming back 💚

Stopped by for dinner after reading Eater LA. Parking is street only but doable. The staff was super attentive and talkative about the cuisine. All the food was delicious. The popcorn chicken was spicy, the chicken and beef soup were the best. The samosas were also equally delicious. Got a lychee lemonade.

Sis Cafe is a gem! We stopped by for wonton soup to fight off a small cold and added an order of popcorn chicken. The soup was huge, packed with tasty wontons and noodles, and so comforting. The popcorn chicken was crispy, flavorful, and the perfect side. Great food, generous portions, and a cozy spot—definitely coming back for more. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

My girlfriend was knee-deep in forensic science studies and I was catching up on work, so neither of us wanted to cook. I had passed by this place a few times in the neighborhood, checked the pricing (budgeting for Halloween week), and decided to thank the plunge. Everything was so delicious, affordable, and made with love. It was so good that my girlfriend immediately started researching a trip to Taipei as there is something on the wall about the restaurant originally being located in Taipei under a different name.

Everything about sis café is on point! I had the samosas, (Taiwanese I believe)fried chicken, and the minced Braised Pork Rice Bowl, and Brown sugar boba. Samosas were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside- delicious! Fried chicken was flavorful and crunchy! Delicious! Braised pork was flavorful and filling! Delicious! The food was all fresh made! Service was excellent! The Boba was made perfectly, and there was an appropriate amount for the size of the drink, not too much and not too little! And the texture of the boba was perfect!! Will definitely come here for lunch many times again!

Called about their boba tea, came in and was greeted by the sweetest woman ever. She made me a black tea with creamer and hooked me up with boba. I believe her name was Marsha. Great tasting tea, great pricing and wonderful service. Thank you Sis!

My new favorite restaurant. I can’t wait to try everything on the menu. We had Beef noodles, spicy fried chicken with rice, crab Rangoon’s and teas. Everything was beyond amazing, the food, the service the ambience. I never really do reviews but I’m blowned away.

Everything here tells you that they care. The environment was tidy and clean all the time. Food was great and reminded me home. They even put two fresh litchee in litchee drink. When so many bars and cafe feed you with glasses of industrial essence, here's a cafe that has some real attitude (and vitamin).

Overall: Fantastic place for lunch. Service and food is consistently great. Good sized portions that will leave you satisfied. Food: Have gotten the beef noodle soup multiple times. Every time I have had it, it has been the same great comforting taste (savory, not too salty or sweet), chewy noodles, a healthy portion of tender beef, and plenty of vegetables. The fried porkchop has plenty of juicy pork that is well seasoned with white pepper. Goes great with the rice topped with a fried egg, broccoli, and pickled veggies. Popcorn chicken and spicy wontons are great dishes to share. Their drinks are made fresh. Try the strawberry lemonade with fresh cut strawberries and just the right amount of sweetness and tanginess. Service: Marsha is super nice. Very attentive and really cares about the food and your experience. They are also very fast and will take phone orders. If you are in a rush, you can rely on this place to get something comforting to eat.

Very unassuming spot. Seems like a lady and her run run the spot by themselves in a very home-esque kitchen. They did mention you can park in the empty unpaved lot across the street. Very Taiwanese centric and surprisingly delicious. We were the only people in for weekday dinner. Before we were in the ladies were mostly sitting at a table with no A/C on, but after we said we were dining in, they gladly closed the front door and turned on the wall mounted A/C units. We ordered the pork chop rice and popcorn chicken. The pork chop was legitimately the softest most tender pork chop I've ever tasted. And it tasted perfectly like the salt and white pepper offerings from Taiwan. The rice provided also had pork belly mixed in it. The popcorn chicken was more similar to Japanese kaarage in size, but still had that classic white pepper and salt flavor. All in all, a great little takeout spot with limited offerings but really provides that authentic Taiwanese taste.

Great Taiwanese food. The pork chop rice was very good. Fresh veggies. Will come again.

Small business. Only two ppl worki my in the back when we went in. My food was GREAT hot fresh! Such a low price for the portions. Good service. Small indoor reminds me of eating in my living room. Can't wait to go back and try the beef soup

I love it here!! The bean bing and spicy fried chicken bento are my favorites (they both fulfill crunchy crispy fried thing with spicy acidic addictive sauce. Amazing combo). The only other place I have seen or had the spicy fried chicken bento is in Thai restaurants in Taiwan so I was elated to know that SIS serves it. The bean bing I have never had anywhere else, but the owner says it's a Burmese dish. It's a ground bean based fritter, softer and somewhat sweeter than a falafel. I could eat them every day. Their other dishes are super solid as well - cold noodle, pork rice, popcorn chicken, beef noodle!! They really care about the quality of their food and boba too! Really reasonable prices and bug portions. Parking available across the street.

this place is a MUST try thai/Taiwanese spot in the area. my friend stumbled upon this place when searching for a lunch spot in the area and it did not disappoint. food: 10/10 I ordered their thai coconut curry with chicken and it was delicious! I saw so many reviews of this dish when looking through their photos and it did not disappoint. the rest of the table ordered their beef noodle soup, pork chop rice, and hot and spicy chicken and we only had good things to report. we also ordered their thai tea and lychee lemonade and once again, they were very tasty. service: the service is amazing!! we were the only party when we sat down and the staff was very attentive and sweet. our waitress was attentive to our requests and everything was brought out in a timely manner. 4/5 of us ordered a drink and she gave us a complimentary drink from her secret menu! street parking is available around the neighborhood

Easy 5 stars for this gem of a place. Sis is for sisters. Marsha in service and Bibi in the kitchen. Originally I was thinking it was a Thai place but it is Taiwanese! So delicious, well served portions and fresh ingredients. Totally feels home made and I come here at least once a week. My favorite dishes are the cold salad, the chicken soup and the spicy liver.

This food is incredible!!! The service is beyond compare. I love the Shao Zi noodle (with lemon and chili oil, owner recommended) and the spicy wontons. Can't go wrong with the popcorn chicken either. I never thought I would find a culinary experience across from work at LAGMC BUT lo and behold. I have never been to Taipei City but now I'm putting Taiwan on the bucket list. We love you SIS CAFE!!!!

This place is super yummy and the food is so comforting for a Taiwanese gal like me. I'm so happy that there is quality Taiwanese food in Boyle Heights! The owner Marcia is extremely friendly and thoughtful. They used to own a restaurant in Taiwan. Their beef noodle soup is my favorite. My friends said their other dishes are excellent too so I can't wait to go back to try more dishes! Oh and the drinks are also tasty and she can adjust the sweetness level for you. Let's support this nice neighborhood business!

This place has become one of my go-to's for Taiwanese cafe classics. The pork chop and fried chicken rice plates are amazing and consistently with a large portion on my visits. The chili crisp topping also seems to be homemade with an awesome nutty sweetness you don't get with Lao gan ma. The popcorn chicken is legit with the right amount of spice, fried basil, and crunch. Recently went with friends and got the tofu with thousand year egg which was a great app on a hot day. The best part is none of these dishes don't break the bank and don't have a heavy greasiness about them like the American Chinese places nearby. The ice teas are also nice, light, and refreshing. For me, this places fills a sorely needed spot in the food scene in the area, and I hope they succeed!

This place has been replaced by a new owner. I believe they're selling Asian fusion now. My family and I have tried the food. I ordered the Fried Pork Chop Rice that one likes taiwanese style and I like that nothing goes wrong with it . My husband had the tomato sauce rice with shrimp. That one it's sooo good, especially for the flavor, we have never had that before! My daughter had the house cold noodles that were great. The combination of all the veggies and sweet n sour sauce it's really good for the hot weather out there. We also got the side dish, the spicy wonton which has added bean sprout at the bottom when eaten with the wonton that will bring up the crunchiness that's really good as well. The lady serving us was nice and patient to explain everything we asked. This place is like a hidden gem at that corner, nice and clean.

Love that the menu is pan-Asian, accessible for work lunch breaks, and that everything I've tried has all been delicious! The women who cook and run the restaurant are consistently welcoming. This is an authentic Taiwanese cafe that is really delicious. The service is top notch and the food is consistently good. Portions are generous. Hidden gem in Boyle Heights. Wouldn't think to find a restaurant of this caliber outside of the SGV.

Ordered here for the first time after getting high compliments from a coworker. Tried the fried chicken rice plate, which was delicious! Good flavor and tender chicken, loved the side vegetables (broccoli, carrot, thin crunchy potato slices), enjoyed the pork and sauce over the rice, and loved that there was a well cooked egg on top. Also tried the deep fried vegetable spring roll, which was decent. Sauce was a little interesting but not bad. Very crispy and flavorful. Guava black tea had an interesting taste to it, so probably wouldn't order again. Spicy wontons had a good amount of spice, good portion, and good toppings (cilantro, green onion, peanut, and crispy shallots). Order was ready and delivered within 25 minutes via DoorDash. Decently priced food. Would go back again for the fried chicken rice plate and spicy wontons!

I came to Sis Cafe yesterday and it was really good! We ordered the curry , a spicy fried chicken and seafood salad ( didn't take a picture) . Everything was really good, I ended ordering a friend chicken to go. Highly recommended. The boba drinks are good lychee lemonade was my favorite!

Such great service, they were so nice to us. The server explained the dishes to us and gave us multiple options. The food came out quick and the as so delicious! Would definitely recommend and I will be coming back!

I first came here thinking it was pho and to my surprise they had just changed ownership and are an Asian Fusion restaurant with more Taiwanese influence (correct me if i'm wrong). Upon entering the lady at the from was so kind and helpful informing me of the new changes to the restaurant. I figured to try it out and ordered to-go. While waiting the lady was kind enough to give me a rose lychee drink on the house which was so sweet of her. The drink was very good and refreshing especially for my first time trying lychee. Waiting inside it was a bit lonely which came to a surprise since the food was amazing. Very savory and fulfilling and had the noodles separate from the broth to ensure they didn't become soggy on my way back home. My boyfriend enjoyed the wonton soup and the spring rolls so I will definitely be returning and dining in store.

so glad we came across this restaurant! we were in the area and I yelped for places, we chose this since it was the closest. It's in the Boyle hts. / USC area, street parking available but the dirt lot across is still available. We ordered the tofu w/ century egg, porkchop rice, fried chicken, beef noodle soup and it was all 10/10!! The service from makes it 100/10 It's a new spot, it'll definitely be your new fave hole in the wall!

Food was amazing! Service was quick and staff were friendly. I got the popcorn chicken, yellow curry shrimp with rice and freshly fried egg on top, carb Rangoon, and spicy wontons. Everything was great, fresh. Definitely going back :)

Awesome customer service the lady's including the cook omg so awesome you gotta come try them out they accept cash and any visa and Master card. The only thing that is that parking is a hassle but other than that clean everything 10/10:)

We decided to dine here on a Sunday afternoon after searching for a place close to the hospital. The food and service were amazing and we would definitely go again. Street parking is available nearby.

First time trying this place and omg everything is so delicious and tasty. The spicy wontons so flavorful and they serve it with some shredded veggies at the bottom. Ordered also the wontons noodle soup, spring rolls and thousand- year egg with tofu which is a cold dish and very good. Excellent service the cashier was very friendly and the place is very clean. Will be coming back.
