Urban Spa Escapes at New York City Hotels

"French beauty traditions come to downtown Manhattan at The Dominick’s Sisley-Paris haven which features facials and body treatments from the namesake and renowned beauty brand. Try the gender-neutral anti-aging facial that incorporates a 20-minute muscle-firming massage or go for the slimming body ritual that combats fat. The Moroccan hammams and two salt chambers are more reason to linger a bit longer here." - Shivani Vora

What’s All the Buzz About?

"This notion takes us to the rooftop of the hotel, where Sisley Spa uses The Dominick’s honey for a sui generis wellness experience. Dubbed “The Dominick Honeybee Ritual,” jars of the hotel’s honey are used to paint the face and body." - Salvatore DiBenedetto

Sisley Spa at The Dominick Hotel Review | Hotels Above Par

"A bright, 11,000-square-foot urban retreat on the hotel’s 7th floor, this contemporary spa channels French élan with crisp white tones, fresh flowers, and warmly hued accents. Rooted in a plant-based philosophy, treatments use Sisley’s botanical oils, creams and cleansers—highlights include the 90-minute Supreme Anti-Aging Facial featuring a 20-minute face massage and the cult-favorite Supremÿa product, soothing phyto-aromatic facials, and restorative bodywork such as 60- and 90-minute massages that can include deep-tissue techniques, hot stones, and lavender aromatherapy. The experience is polished from start to finish: well-stocked locker rooms with full-size Sisley toiletries, impossibly soft robes and slippers, a cozy waiting room serving fresh lemonade, teas, petit fours and macarons, and nine generously sized treatment suites with top-tier beds and plush blankets. Post-treatment relaxation is a standout, with a co-ed lounge of lounger beds, blankets and an outdoor terrace for lingering; other on-site amenities include sauna and steam rooms, two salt chambers and Moroccan hammams (the 90-minute Moroccan Hammam Experience is $500). Typical price points noted include many 60-minute facials and body treatments around $235, with add-ons such as cupping for $60, making it a full-service, pampering option that feels like a mini-vacation amid the city."

I cannot recommend Gabriela enough! 🌟 She is incredibly knowledgeable and truly cares about her clients. Not only is she highly skilled, but she is also so kind and attentive, making the entire experience relaxing and enjoyable. Every time I see her, I feel completely taken care of, and the results speak for themselves—my skin has never looked better! I always go back to Sisley because of her, and I look forward to each visit knowing I’m in the best hands. And not to mention the wonderful staff—Heaven is always so kind and warm, which makes the experience complete.

From the moment I walked into the Sisley Spa at The Dominick, I felt completely welcomed and cared for. Stephen greeted me with such warmth and genuine energy — he patiently answered all my questions and let me know that, as a guest of The Dominick, I could enjoy the sauna, steam room, hammam, and salt room. He was incredibly kind and accommodating, setting the tone for a wonderful visit. Haven was a delight to chat with while helping me choose a fragrance from the Sisley line (and she was so patient with my indecisiveness!). Jaime, my masseuse, was amazing — he worked through every knot and sore spot until I was completely relaxed… and asleep! (Apologies for the snoring 😅). Finally, Gabriella, my esthetician, gave me the most soothing facial that left my skin glowing — completely pain-free and heavenly. The entire staff was exceptional — warm, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. I left feeling rejuvenated, pampered, and already planning my return. Sisley Spa is a true gem in SoHo and the perfect complement to a stay at The Dominick.

Staff are friendly, but rating of 1 reflects the seriously substandard massage service and generally poor condition of the facilities, especially given the fairly premium price point. Strongly do not recommend, and certainly won’t ever be returning. Massage therapist started out well enough with decent pressure - checked in with me to confirm whether the pressure was okay at about the 15-20min, but then proceeded to do little more than brush oil on my legs for the remaining 90min session. She was also listening to something on her headphones, which would be unprofessional enough, but it was at an audible enough volume that I could hear it over the massage room’s music. Honestly, I can’t even believe this would be a thing I have to mention. I suspect maybe whatever she was listening to was distracting her, since there were several moments when she would just stop working. It barely felt like she was even on autopilot. Facilities are decent enough, but show clear signs of aging and likely neglect. Nothing really seems actively cared for - for instance, the showers in the changing rooms have an unpleasant and stale odor, and both showers had trash everywhere. Dry sauna in the changing rooms was left open for so long that it was barely 100°. Clearly, no member of staff had been in the locker room for hours to ensure things are in decent order or for basic tidying up. The steam sauna was also out of order, which I understand can happen, but that meant there was literally nothing else (besides some chairs in a waiting area-like lounge) to enjoy after what was barely a massage. Maybe once upon a time, this spa was worth the price point at which it seems to want to compete, but the apparent neglect and general lack of care/effort now makes this an overall less than 2 star experience.

Came here for my birthday weekend, and I had such a wonderful time. The staff were all so warm and welcoming. All of the different amenities were excellent and the staff made sure they were all ready for me to use. It felt so hyper personalized. And the massage was fantastic. I had Saul, who made me feel incredibly comfortable, focused on the areas I desperately needed work on, and was just overall very kind and clearly knowledgeable. And even on my way out, the staff up front were so sweet and helped to make my birthday weekend extra special. Highly recommend!

I stayed at The Dominick, a five-star modern luxury hotel in SoHo, and visited its Sisley Spa, the French brand known for plant-based luxury skincare. I booked a 10:00 AM weekday massage ($189, about $250 with tax/tip). My assigned therapist never showed up, and not until 10:13 AM did another therapist pick me up. She admitted she had only been notified at 10:03 AM, looked stressed, and even expressed some frustration. The massage finally started at 10:26 and ended at 11:20 — less than an hour and incomplete (my back wasn’t even treated). After the session, I refused the offered champagne and immediately asked to see the Spa Director, also stating I would escalate my complaint to the hotel’s General Manager. The Director was professional, fully acknowledged the failure, and waived the massage charge. I even offered to pay a full tip, but another manager insisted the guest should not be charged and assured me the therapist would still be fully compensated. To be fair, I used the hotel’s $50 spa credit to purchase a Sisley shampoo and a cleanser, and paid $217 total with tax/fees. Will I return? Yes — because the Spa Director truly listened, took responsibility, and handled the situation properly. That accountability makes me believe they deserve another chance.

Really disappointed with the customer service. The facial itself was really nice but 1. I was charged for extra treatment without me approving those add ons, 2. I was over charged by $150 on the final invoice in addition to add ons and the reception was giving me attitude for daring to demand an explanation (which I was right to ask for and they eventually corrected). They were extremely disrespectful and turned a special treat into a stressful experience. ZZ Day Spa remains the best option for quality, good service, and flexibility and def worth the trip uptown I was trying to avoid.

The massage therapist was good but this spa is outdated and old. The sheets had black stains on them. I’m surprised Sisley attaches its name to it but maybe when it opened it was better. The staff were warm and welcoming though but that’s it. Not luxurious at all!

Went there to treat myself with a deep tissue massage that was real good! I used their amenities after that. I am a fan of steam rooms and theirs is clean and spacious so I could scrub myself and I could even relax in their heated hammam room. It's good to know that we have to turn the steam and sauna on so next time ill make sure to do it in advance so its hot and ready as I enter. Thanks to the team for a great experience!
