I’ve been seeing Danie at Sister Margaret’s for more than five years now and I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else. From the moment you walk in, the service is friendly, welcoming and genuinely caring. Danie consistently goes the extra mile to make sure you’re happy with the result, whether that means taking the time to talk things through, offering honest advice, or perfecting every last detail before you leave the chair. The quality of her work is exceptional, and on top of that, the pricing is extremely reasonable for the level of skill and care you receive. If you’re looking for a salon where you feel comfortable, valued and leave loving your hair every single time, the Sister Margaret’s team are absolute gems. Highly recommended. ✂️💛

I booked a long haircut - restyling but ended up asking for a short chop instead. I was greeted by two wonderful ladies, Dani and Natalya, who made the experience so enjoyable! Natalya was the one who worked her magic on my thick, long, and half-bleached hair. Even though my appointment was only 45 minutes and she had another client waiting, she took her time to make sure I was completely happy with the result—she's like a hair wizard! I can’t recommend this place enough, not just for the fantastic hair services but also for the amazing vibe from these ladies and the charming vintage interiors filled with cool stories. It was truly a great experience!.

I read some great reviews and decided to get booked in with Cara, I had a very positive experience from start to finish and received great tips on how to care for my curly hair at home. Great energy at sister Margaret’s, wonderful staff members there :) x

Absolutely brilliant! I’ve just moved into Yarraville and did my online research. Booked a haircut with Danie and am so happy. My thick shoulder length brown hair (which makes my head heavy) is now so much lighter after Danie weaved her magic - buzz cut underneath at the back and thinned out throughout:) Just brilliant. Love that you can book online too.

Attempted to book online first Dec 15th but availability was blocked until February. Called three times over two business days and left a voicemail with contact details. No response after three business days. If phone contact isn’t supported during business hours, that should be clearly stated.

I’ve been going here for years - even after moving away from Yarraville! Friendliest staff, great vibes, great hair products and very reasonable pricing. Very communicative and suggestive in a non-pressuring way. I can truly relax when I go for my haircut because I know I’m in good hands! Honestly a godsend for those who may be anxious getting haircuts.

There's pros and cons to this review. The pro is... Sister Margaret gets well deserved praise for keeping my hair looking razzle dazzle, A-MAY-ZING. The con is, everyone is going to book up the appointment calendar to visit this wonderful, down to earth crew who want you to step out feeling fabulous! My hair couldn't bear to be without this Sister in its life - so much so, I'm willing to travel from far, far away to visit every month. Thanks for the chair chats, the honest advice with what can be achieved, and your rad scissor skills.

I’ve had a few cuts at Sister Margaret’s and was happy with the outcome - very friendly and super affordable! However, my most recent cut ended badly. I requested a trim and a curtain fringe (and showed photos). I was getting a fresh cut before heading overseas for a few weeks. I came out with an uneven full on fringe that wasn’t even cut straight. It was awful. I made it clear it wasn’t right and referred back to the photos but to no avail. I was told that it would be the right length when I returned from my trip - not what I wanted to hear. I’ve now had to go (and pay) for a fringe trim in an attempt to have it fixed and the hairdresser noted that neither side was even and one side had been butchered. They did the best they could but admitted that it will take time to grow into the fringe that I requested. Very disappointing and upsetting.
