The 13 Best Restaurants, Bars, and Cafes in Sisters | Eater Portland

"While in Sisters, don’t miss Sisters Bakery, an institution for almost 45 years. In the morning there are breakfast items like ham and cheese croissants, bacon cheddar scones, a Denver hashbrown danish, pepperoni pizza focaccia, s’more donuts, Saturday morning cartoon donuts (house made vanilla frosting topped with Fruity Pebbles cereal), and classics like old-fashioned donuts and soft butter cookies. To complement these delectable treats, there’s a selection of coffee, espresso, and latte options. Be prepared for a line out the door, but it moves fast. It’s best to arrive early to secure your spot and pick up the thick-cut wheat or sourdough bread loaves." - Barb Gonzalez

My wife and I got married in Sisters in July of 2025 and wanted to keep the majority of our vendors local to the area. We tested other bakeries, one of which was high end and much more expensive but we ultimately went with Sisters Bakery. Not only are they reasonably priced, but their staff, communication style, and general service were top-notch. The cake was exactly what we wanted, looked flawless, and tasted divine. The manager, Maggie Hall, both facilitated our tasting, and delivered the cake to our venue the day of. Every request was followed to the T including extra boxes so we could take home any remaining cake. If you didn’t guess by now, there was no cake left for us to take home. People raved about our cake! We could not have done it without Sisters Bakery. So it is without any reservation that I rate them five stars and if I could, I would rate them more.

Great bakery. Everything is delicious. A huge loaf of sourdough bread is $11. Get there early if you want big selection. Things do sell out. Convenient location with street parking. Great service. There is coffee available and two small tables in the bakery.

Google
Chocolate cake donut- too crunchy of an exterior for me and not moist enough to be a favorite. The flavor is exceptional. Very Oreo like. Near enough to be amazing but comes up short. Apple fritter- very large fritter. Soft dough but the edges weren't my favorite. Fairly stiff edges, not my ideal crisp texture but it's completely opinion based. Big apple chunks in the bottom of the fritter. Not enough cinnamon flavor for me. Probably a 6.5/10. Maple Bar- loved the bar. Probably my favorite donut from here. Very large, fluffy and soft with a thick delicious, albeit sweet, maple glaze. Would get again.

Google
Good donuts. But, as many other people have said, they don’t list prices or label what different items are which really creates a long wait and a long line. The last few times I’ve been here the folks in front of me asked for prices on their items which takes a long time and the staff seem annoyed but there is no other way to know prices or main ingredients in food (ie is it basil or spinach?) why do they refuse to list prices or have a menu??? They need better signs too so people know which way to exist and enter.

Google
Worth a stop! Glazed chocolate donut was melt-in-your-mouth magic. Also HIGHLY recommend the rosemary bread. The most friendly staff. We went early there was no line, thankful for the early opening time!

Google
Unbelievably little hometown bakery in Sisters, everything fresh, made right there every morning. Scones and rolls to die for. There is usually a line out the door for a reason. Not much room inside, you want to take these bakery gems to go. So glad we found this place, do NOT miss this bakery when you are in Sisters!

Google
This place is absolutely amazing! We devoured their fresh breads and pastries all week long during our 5-day vacation in Black Butte. Their donuts and scones were a perfect way to start our mornings at the cabin and then the sandwiches in the afternoon on their bread...INcredible. A turkey sandwich will never be the same for me. I loved, loved, LOVED their bread. I'll have much more to write later...but their pastries and breads are OFF THE HOOK deeeeeelicious!! Soooo worth the stop!

Google
This place has wonderful pastries. The prices on their menu are quite outdated though. $6 for an apple fritter , but definitely worth it.

Yelp
Wow...great experience at the Sisters Bakery last week. We were in town for the concert in Bend, and that day I had received an email stating that Sisters Bakery served one of the best Marionberry Pies in the state. But we were there 1/2 hour before they closed, and they were out of it. But...the server at the counter was so nice and said that if we could wait about two minutes, some fresh Marionberry scones were coming out of the oven. Simply incredible. Very light and full of marionberries. The people at the counter were also so nice and engaging. I will definitely be back on other trips to the are.

Yelp
Wow!! This apple fritter is over the top good!! Actual slices of apples, these are still moist and the fritter is not burnt. This is a small shop with a decent selection of treats. The line is long but it does move fast. They are very organized here and probably have to be due to the amount of tourism coming through. The staff here are quick on their feet and very friendly. We just stopped in for a little treat as we are passing through, but we are apparently just going to park it here for a bit and eat!

Yelp
How bizarre. My husband and I are from out of state and through a two page article in the 'Sisters Oregon Guide' we found out about the "Destination Sisters Bakery." The prices on Yelp showed a very reasonable menu with .80 items and 2-3 dollar items, the most expensive being a little over 6 bucks. Now, this menu on Yelp is ten years old so we figured another dollar or two would be added onto that. When we went in to see what all the fuss was about, a friendly voice asked "Would you like a box today?" I asked how much a box was, seeing that there's no price on anything, and was told each item is priced separately. We passed on the box and requested the last glazed cinnamon roll and a marion berry scone. We sat and ate the scone, none impressed as the flavor we tasted was a mildly sweet corn bread? Sitting at the table I couldn't help but wince at the price of the box the lady at the register was buying, 32 dollars! We decided to save the cinnamon roll for the truck ride, but when I went in for a bite with my plastic fork, I almost broke the thing! We walked back in with our puck in hand explaining our situation and were asked if we wanted it heated. We replied no and my husband says, "I'm honestly surprised we spent 11.50 on these two items, how much is that cinnamon roll anyway?" But we got no answer, a lady was walking in, we were asked about our card number and given a full refund and as we walked out we hear the same friendly voice ask the lady, "Would you like a box today!?" Two stars for a full refund.

Yelp
Sisters Bakery in Bend, Oregon is the best. I recommend it so highly--but be prepared for the long line. It moves quickly though, and everything is super fresh. I got a lavender chai and it was awesome.
google avatar

Yelp
The bear claw was a bit overbaked and quite literally flat. Needed twice as much almond paste inside. Tasted decent though. Sourdough loaf and marionberry cream cheese danish also a bit overbaked. The color should be golden, not brown. All the flavors are good.

Yelp
This was one of the best stops on our Oregon trip. This little bakery has been in business since 1981 and really delivers on the most tasty baked goods. The interior is very small but warm and friendly. I heard from a couple of locals in Bend, Oregon that we needed to stop here to try the Marionberry Scones. I have never been a huge fan of scones, but this one changed my mind. When we arrived it was late morning and we got lucky to purchase the last two scones. YAY! These scones were as good as were told. The flavor of the scone just erupted with fresh Marion berries. I wish there would have been a couple more of these scones as I would have loved to purchase more. Our visit here was pleasant and flavorful.

Yelp
So this is one of those oh yeah, we have to stop there when we make this trip kind of places. Really good pastries, good coffee drinks and a nice little place to sit out on the side. If you make it to sister's Oregon, be sure to stop here.

Yelp
The only sad part of this review is that I packed a small backpack that doesn't have enough room to stuff it full of treasures from Sisters Bakery. This place is BUSTLING and rightly so. During my 30 minute visit, there was a nonstop flow of customers at 2pm on a Sunday. The staff is incredibly friendly and warm. It felt like you could become their friends/ a regular in a heartbeat. I opted for a tea and key lime bar. Their winter menu had a fun "island spin@ featuring flavors like guava cream cheese, spam, key lime, etc. Needless to say, it took everything in me not to order more items. The key lime bar rocked my socks off. This bakery is worth driving out of your way for-- don't miss out!!

Yelp
Ok I loved everything I ate from here and want to come back for more next time I roll through town, however one thing was pretty off-putting. Nothing is priced, there is no menu and no prices, the line is long so it feels like they are capitalizing on the pressure of the people behind you to get a much of your money as possible. This would have been slightly more tolerable if I was at least given my receipt but as I tried to type my phone number in to get a digital version the girl cleared it and walked away. We ended up paying over 20 dollars for a small drip coffee, two croissants and an apple fritter. Being the pastry loving person that I am I still happily sipped my coffee and ate my treats but my husband was very put off by that all. That said I love the way they do the chocolate detail on the chocolate croissant and the ham and cheese croissant has a delicious seasoning added to it that made it unique. The apple fritter was huge and yummy! Overall I'd probably come back but maybe by myself and at the end of the day when there's no line and I can take my time lol.

Yelp
Very busy as it was rodeo weekend. The staff happily explained each pastry I asked about, helping me decide. I grabbed a selection to celebrate my birthday. Brownies were dense and moist, the Marionberry bar was sweet and crispy, my favorite was the almond pastry. I'll be back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Love this little bakery. Have to let you all know that this lady week i ordered a few pies for family in town. I called them in so they would be ready for the next day. Ethan took my ordered and I had to call back for a few other things in that 24 hour period. Got Ethan each time. So very patient and professional. And very understanding. If the line is long when you get there it goes really fast. Those guys work so hard and they are very quick. Enjoy!!! I recommend everything!!!

Yelp
I stopped in here by chance on a trip from Bend to Portland. I grabbed some scones and a lavender chai, which is odd because I don't love scones or lavender. However, everything was delicious. The scones were flaky and light. The lavender chai tasted like real lavender but wasn't too over-powering. The cashier was super sweet and helpful. What a gem in the cutest town!

Yelp
This is a must stop if you're visiting sisters or passing through! Sisters bakery was recommended to us by two locals and I'm so grateful they mentioned it. I HIGHLY recommend the ham and cheese croissant (heated up of course). The flakey buttered croissant with the melty cheese and saltiness of the ham - holy moly, best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. I think the butter might have a hint of garlic too (which I love but might be too strong for some). There are so many options to choose from, make sure to come hungry!

Rima K.

Yelp
Living in nearby Bend I like to stop at this bakery whenever I drive through Sisters. But my most recent visit was underwhelming as compared to previous visits. Several of the baked goods were quite disappointing. The habanero/mango scone sound intriguing but was literally inedible. My wife is from the Caribbean and so I picked up a guava/cream cheese danish which sounded delicious. The flavor of the cream cheese was way off and so again we threw it away. Same with a third item. The only item that met the quality of their past items was a coconut/mango muffing. So lesson learned - stick with traditional baked goods and not the more innovative ones that aren't worth it.

Yelp
The most amazing almond bear claw I've ever had- grateful I got the last one! Service is welcoming and engaging. Ambiance is charming, quaint, little funky in its old cottage charm. Clearly a local or tourist favorite. 5 stars for quality food, friendly service! Thank you for a great experience!

Yelp
This bakery is the reason to return to the area! We enjoyed the large Marionberry scones and the jalapeño focaccia. I wanted one of everything! Staff friendly. Easy parking. Walk in and order.

Yelp
Every morning during our short stay in Sisters we would see a long line stretched outside of this business. We knew we had to give this spot a try and decided to do that on the final morning of our getaway. The line is due to the very small size of the bakery's interior as well as the high quality of their pastries. The staff is very friendly and efficient so the wait time was actually not very long. Their entire selection looked delicious and I was shocked over the massive size of their apple fritters. I ended up going for a classic almond croissant and drip coffee. There is a small park within walking distance that we ended up at to sit and enjoy our small togo breakfast. Overall this was a very charming and delightful experience.

Jen S.

Yelp
We visit this bakery every time we are in Sisters, Oregon. They make such delicious pastry's, good eats & coffees!!

M J.

Yelp
Unbelievably delicious scones and jalapeño cheddar bread. We bought 4 different scones (2 savory and 2 sweet) and each of them was absolutely amazing. The texture was softer than traditional heavy but highly recommend. They were bursting with flavor. I wish that I had purchased more of them. Also the woman working the counter was so friendly and polite.
google avatar

Sage L.

Yelp
Baked goods had nice flavor and coffee was well balanced. I wish the items had name cards near them so you can distinguish which item is what. This would definitely allow a more fluent line to keep pushing through. I'd come here again to try something new.

Jon K.

Yelp
Best scones I've ever eaten! My wife and I are planning another trip to Sisters just to buy some scones. We drove from Roseburg to meet our kids in Bend for the weekend. On our way back we drove thru Sisters and decided to stop for coffee before our long drive back. What a great surprise - a must stop if you're driving thru Sisters.

Yelp
Unless somebody can tell me otherwise, this is by far the best bakery in Central Oregon. Nothing against sparrow, but the croissants here at sisters bakery are much better. The scones are really good as well, the muffins are good, the bread is good... And usually they have a cutie or three working behind the counter. During snowboarding season I like to grab a croissant in route to Hoodoo and leave it on the dashboard to keep warm until a midmorning shred break.

Yelp
I have patronize this Bakery twice and both times the bread has been absolutely outstanding. Oliver Lemon's sells the white bread homemade fresh from the Sisters Bakery and I use that for my egg sandwich as it's so fresh and delicious. Thank you for being a part of our community and supporting us with your fresh baked goods. Five stars all around. I 100% recommend this Bakery

liv A.

Yelp
Everything is so yummy and the people are nice! I will say if you're not there early enough you will have to warm up your stuff but I don't mind.
google avatar

Mariko K.

Yelp
We got a cream cheese brownie. It was kind stale and too sweet. Service was good though. There wasn't any room inside to sit inside so we ate our brownie outside in the rain.
google avatar

Lynn A.

Yelp
Love all their pastries! And the multigrain bread is addictive. Try the chorizo scones -- so yummy!
google avatar

Kim R.

Yelp
Second visit to the bakery, this Sunday morning about 7:30am. AGAIN, stopping by as we were passing through trying to snag a cinnamon roll....and AGAIN, a big no. They were already sold out. Tells me 3 things...they need to make more/they must be great since they're always out/I'm not meant to try one. Boooo! So, for the second time I picked out alternative pastries. A ham n cheese croissant, blueberry muffin, mixed berry danish, and an orange/cranberry scone. The croissant and danish were flakey and yummy, muffin was too dry, and the scone really lacked flavor. We also had coffee and a latte, both with nice flavor but not served the hottest. I'm sure I'll still try again to score a cinnamon roll next time we are nearby...I'm a glutton.

Lyn M.

Yelp
Cute place with a long line. Great choices for pastries. I ended up buying more than I should have. But they were great!

Yelp
coffee cold, ordered double espresso and got a single. asked for adjustment and was told I was wrong.

Yelp
Came here 2 times while camping in sisters during overland expo. The pastries are very good, warm and fresh, there's always people coming in, seems like the best time to go is between 6-7:15am. One of our friends passed by at around 9am and said the line was down the block and around the corner. The only thing I didn't like is that there were no prices on anything and that will usually influence what I get if I can't decide on a few things (what I would want to try more). I feel like when places do that it's shady. 1st time the total came out to $35 (bear claw came out to $6 from memory, probably would not have got that if I knew that) my husband and I got - Marionberry scone (really good, tasted like a pancake to me) Bear claw (not bad, a little too sweet for me but it was warm and fresh) Ham and cheese croissant (probably good if you're a pastry/bread kind of person, my husband says he likes more ham and cheese in his croissants) Cinnamon Roll - (these are really good, fluffy even the next day , not too sweet and not covered with a bunch of icing) Americano - (husband said it was ok, it wasn't acidic which he likes but there wasn't anything that made it stand out) Chai latte - (very good but a little too sweet for me. I would probably dilute it with more milk next time but the flavor is good) Chocolate chip cookie - (very good, wasn't too sweet and the chocolate chips were good) 2nd time the total came out to $25 (slice of quiche was $7) my husband and I got - Ham and cheese croissant Slice of bacon and cheddar quiche - (good flavor, I wish the crust on the bottom was crispier but still good) Spinach and cheese scone - (very good, tasted like the cheddar bay biscuits at red lobster) Chocolate donut with chocolate icing (very good, consistency was perfect) Americano

Yelp
The savory Feta Scone melted in my mouth. The maple bars looked heavenly but I did not make it back there to try them. The woman next too me certainly enjoyed hers! Maybe next time! Enjoy!

Marjie I.

Yelp
Donuts are huge but just ok. The scones are amazing! Service is friendly and helpful.

Leslie M.

Yelp
Obviously baked good are off the hook. Service sub par. Cold coffee and clerks overwhelmed.

Amy L.

Yelp
That bread is something else! We enjoyed the donuts, scones and the hot tea on a chilly morning. Love this place.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
Great service and good pastries. I stopped in because it was the first place open in Sisters (6 am), and I was making an early start. The case is full of yummy sweets: doughnuts, scones, pastries, and more. The chocolate old-fashioned doughnut was excellent. But they also have savories. I ordered the spinach scone, and was pleasantly surprised-- I am usually not much of a scone fan. But these were light and flavorful, and they may have changed my point of view on scones. They have great coffee choices, as well, and the service was friendly and efficient. Needless to say, if I stay in Sisters, or even pass through in the morning, this bakery will require a stop.
google avatar

Jennifer U.

Yelp
Small town bakery with delicious pastries! I went for the savories this time, and they were all so good. Got the Jalapeño pepper jack cheese bread, chicken pot pie, spinach/feta scone, bacon/cheddar scone, and the ham&cheddar croissant.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
My family and I stop at Sister's bakery often when we're going to ski at hoodoo. The service is great and I really love their maple bar donuts as well as their savory options, like their ham and cheese croissants. The store looks very nice as well.
google avatar

Taryn A.

Yelp
Nothing you order here will let you down. From sweet to savory I have enjoyed everything I have tried. My family personally is obsessed with the maple bars and focaccia bread. If your looking to score a sourdough loaf or other popular item you have to show up early and be ready to stand in line outside. (but so worth the extra effort) The customer service here outshines 95% of places and makes coming here a highlight of my day.
google avatar

Chris N.

Yelp
We popped in for a snack and left with several pounds of baked goods giggling like children. So friendly and helpful (they told us we'd want more & sure enough we had to check out twice). Fresh warm bear claws like no other. Yum!

Brian H.

Yelp
We are traveling around in our RV and staying in Sisters for a couple of days. This town is so cute! We stopped in this bakery and my teen girls and I picked out several items. Every thing we tried was amazing! I especially loved the marionberry bars. Sooooooo good! I will come back to sisters just to get those! Oh and the chai was very tasty too. I think perhaps they make it themselves.
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
We went to Sisters for lunch while we were camping at Belknap hot springs. My husband and I had split our lunch and afterwards I decided I had room for dessert. So I walked around the corner to the Sisters bakery. I didn't know what I wanted, but the sign on the door said they had pumpkin spice latte's. That sounded really good, so I got one for myself and 4 chocolate chip cookies for us and our two friends that came with us that day. Needless to say everyone loved the cookies and the latte was delicious too. It didn't have that artificial taste that some drinks have. Sister's bakery is small but cute and cozy. The service was spot on. I can't wait to go back! I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Anthony B.

Yelp
Wonderfully delicious sourdough bread like no other. Sliced just right and toasts perfectly!

Adam R.

Yelp
First, a little background; I grew up in Sisters (hold the ooo's and awes, it's a redneck wanna be tourist trap that's gawd awful) and the Sisters Bakery was never somewhere you actually ate or grabbed a doughnut. Lots of my friends worked there over the years and it was a dive that tourists loved. Well, fast forward more than 20 years and while I was down for a birthday party I stopped in here because I wanted something quick for breakfast and coffee. Coffee was ok, nothing special to write about there, but they do have a modest selection of items. Where they have received my five stars was the for the Buttermilk Bar. Please note that this is my favorite doughnut and not a lot of places actual sell them. This buttermilk bar was the best I have EVER had. And because I was skeptical that perhaps it was just the day or baker, I went back a couple days later as I was heading out of town to get another one. Just as awesome. I can only imaging that the other doughnuts are just as good (I would hope). I also tried their savory scones and their ham and swiss croissant. All were very good and certainly recommended.

Chris H.

Yelp
Today we had the cheddar bacon scallion scones, beyond delicious with perfect crump & outside crispiness. The cinnamon-sugar and chocolate-on-chocolate doughnuts were just what we were craving on the way out of town, the best!!! Bought loaves of sourdough for our freezer. Anything bakery item you choose from this wonderful bakery is going to be exceptional.
google avatar

Steven B.

Yelp
The pastry they call a bear claw was not as a traditional bear claw and it was obvious looking at it. Never mind that as it was an incredible almond pastry! Our bacon and cheddar scone was very hearty and delicious for lunch later. Sadly our Marion berry scone was a bit raw and doughy in the center. When I took it in to show them the gal said it was supposed to be that way saying their scones were supposed to be soft inside. I guess she didn't really listen to me when I said it was raw dough inside.

Justina B.

Yelp
Anything you try will be delicious! The scones, donuts, and croissants are all wonderful choices.
google avatar

Loretta N.

Yelp
I first saw an advertisement in an Oregon travel brochure for the Sisters Bakery and just knew I had to go to Sisters, Oregon. It was absolutely delicious! We ended up getting several items because everything was just so tempting. The town, the bakery and the people looked like the backdrop of a Hallmark movie! Just one of those perfect places!
google avatar

Taylor K.

Yelp
Get here early to beat the lines! Everything is AMAZING. Definitely get the marionberry coffee cake. Other favorites are the spinach feta scone, key lime bars, and seven layer bars! The staff are always friendly and helpful, too!
