"This two-story cafe in Portland’s Pearl District is a strong option for those hoping to camp out and work, thanks to its abundant seating, extensive menu of breakfast burritos and sandwiches, and 5 p.m. closing time — late for many coffee shops in the area. The Wi-Fi is free, of course, and it’s a common sight to see many laptops stationed throughout the airy, window-lined space." - Nick Woo, Janey Wong

"For chocolatey roasts, lots of seating, and plenty of outlet access, this Pearl District outpost of a Central Oregon coffee roaster is a spacious spot for laptop campers, who lounge along the leather-backed banquettes and perch in the mezzanine, book in-hand. The menu here is extensive, both in terms of drinks and food: Beverages extend beyond coffee to include things like rose-cardamom matcha, and the food menu that extends beyond breakfast sandwiches to include full hashes, egg-and-potato plates, and house-made pastries." - Asia Alvarez

The interior is lovely and the vibes are cozy. I can imagine how perfect this coffee shop is during autumn! I had the daydreamer latte - it was smooth and well balanced, with perfect silky foam. It was perfect for the cool morning. And it was a short walk from our hotel. I’ll def be back next time I’m in Portland!

Really nice atmosphere. Very calm. We tried the latte and dirty chai. Both were ok. The brownie was pretty good. Two levels and has a lot of room if you plan to sit and work.

The stylish, clean ambience and friendly staff make this cafe worth the visit. Things you should know: I. PARKING There's a nearby Safeway parking garage you could use and then walk over or you could pay for street parking. Street parking, however, appeared to be filled by mid-day. II. SERVICE It's a good sign when an employee cares enough to ask how to spell your name! They're very timely here as well. Most of the time, baristas will give you your beverage in a to-go cup but they still incorporate the latte art with it. III. QUALITY I never say anything good about decaf coffee (ever), BUT I truly enjoy their decaf lattes here. If you want an evening sip without a kick, this place does it right. IV. CAPACITY This place is packed during morning fuel hours. It tapers off throughout the day. You'll notice all kinds of crowds here but I especially tend to notice the crowd that camps and knocks out work.

Good coffee, great atmosphere. Love the bar seating in the window and tables on the balcony level. There is also some food and baked goods. WiFi and outlets and most seats. Street parking available.

We stopped here during our visit to Portland a couple of times. The only thing we tried was their coffee. We had drip coffee and a cappuccino with oat milk. We found their coffee to be on the strong side, while we preferred more on the fruity side, but nevertheless, we enjoyed it. The place is bigger than a usual cafe, plus they have high ceilings with 2 levels of sitting. The high ceiling gives this place a unique vibe. Plus they also have outdoor sitting. Both times we found the staff to be super friendly and could see that they are very popular with locals and would engage in a conversation with them. One time on a weekday morning, there were many people in the queue and they didn’t rush anyone. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Portland to stop by this cafe.

Close to where I am staying with fresh coffee and amazing sandwiches. Service is excellent and always a place to sit. Tried the hot chocolate and loved the flavors. Great spot to hang with family or friends.

Google
A lovely neighborhood coffee shop. The people working here are always friendly, efficient, and helpful. I usually brew my own coffee, but will swing by for some breakfast items sometimes. The food has been consistently delicious. The scramble box I got today was cooked perfectly, the lox box is great, the Multnomah sandwich is a favorite. I'm grateful they expanded their kitchen hours and just to have this lovely business in this neighborhood.

Our go to neighborhood coffee shop. We usually drop in to grab the burrito and add all the additions to split before heading to church! Coffee is great quality, and we've ordered like half the menu by now. Everything is good!

Yelp
Day Dreamy Vanilla Late (hot) 12oz Pros: service was quick! Inside seating area is clean, bright, and very presentation was amazing. Cons: The drink was not good. I did not like the house made vanilla syrup used. It had an odd taste that didnt give mw vanilla.

Marie B. J.

Yelp
Friends met here to chat and say good bye after a fabulous retreat. Being with good company almost always makes a huge difference. I had the chai tea with oat milk (it was okay) I wish it was hotter and a bit richer in flavor. I would recommend this as a spot to meet (great parking) and a nice atmosphere. The other patrons were also very nice. It get jumping on a Sunday mid-morning. I was fortunate to beat the rush. I'd recommend this spot

Yelp
Now one of our favorite coffee shops in downtown Portland! Unique flavors (vanilla bean & vanilla rose, etc) and good latte art, friendly staff and lots of seating make this a great morning stop! I've been twice this trip so far and the vanilla rose latte has been my go-to both times! Even presentation is great with it, as it's topped with flower petals! The avocado toast was themed with lemon toppings and it was delicious. I would certainly get it again next time!

Bill G.

Yelp
Good coffee, but pretty expensive, even for the Pearl district. Not a good cafe to sit and work, it's pretty loud and the wifi is weak. They would clearly prefer people cycle through.

Yelp
I checked out Sisters Coffee Company for the first time on November 16, 2023. Sisters Coffee was founded by Winfield and Joy Durham in 1989. The shop is right on the corner and is incredibly inviting. I was literally walking down the street and decided to walk in. I was in the area on a business trip so I needed to get caffeinated. I ordered a small vanilla almond milk latte. The staff here is friendly, professional and fast. Literally got my latte made in a few minutes. The small size is much smaller than a "tall" at Starbucks but it seemed much "stronger" in terms of caffeine. It's a little pricey here but the drinks are worth it and it's the perfect place to get some work done. If you're in The Pearl District - Portland, definitely check out Sisters Coffee.

Wendi K.

Yelp
Cozy coffee shop in Pearl District. SUPER crowded on a Saturday - we had to stand. I had the avocado toast ($9) which was zesty and yummy, and a cappuccino with oat milk (about $5 with alternative milk). The espresso is a bit too tart for my liking. Pretty latte art though!

Erik P.

Yelp
I was so happy to stop in here on a recent trip to the area. I have never had Sisters Coffee before and was very happy with the quality and Service. I had the cold brew and it was great. Perfect cold brew, not to bitter or sweet. My wife had a latte and was one of the best from a coffee shop she has had in a long time. I wish they had more locations so we could have swung by on our way out of town. For sure will come back when we are in the area again.

Erica P.

Yelp
Stumbled across this lovely coffee shop when I was wandering around Portland and am I ever glad that I did! The shop itself is cozy with plenty of seating both up and downstairs, friendly, knowledgeable staff and Sisters Coffee swag should you want it. I ordered the Daydreamy latte and it was indeed very dreamy. Velvety foam, accompanied by a lovely vanilla flavor and espresso so delicious I was hard pressed not to turn my car around for another one! It is definitely on the top of my list for coffee spots I must return to, and I look forward to my next visit to Portland so I can keep exploring their menu.

Crystal M.

Yelp
This coffee place is ADORABLE! There's plenty of seating, both in the main level and some tables up on the balcony. I much prefer tucking in upstairs, you have great few of the whole coffee shop and the streets outside. The barista that helped me was so nice. I had wanted to sub in sourdough instead of a getting an English muffin and she explained that the shape of the egg sandwich doesn't work on sourdough. She was so apologetic but the fact that she took the time to explain why was above and beyond what I was expecting. I got the classic breakfast sandwich, it was great. I also got a medium Starlight Latte. Holy moly. Hands down one of my favorites that I've had. It was nice to go tuck away upstairs on a rainy Friday sipping a piping hot latte. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping by!

Katie L.

Yelp
Best coffee we had on our trip to Portland- highly recommend! I had a fantastic chai latte and my Fiance had coffee and bagel with lox! We will definitely be back.

Ayumi M.

Yelp
Loved how spacious it was and how bright the entire place was even on a rainy day. Coffee was good and baristas were friendly. Would come here again!

Rosalyn G.

Yelp
Sisters coffee is like a sister to me. Just I'm the heart of the Pearl District is something you can't beat for location. From the friendly service to the ambiance is something special. My go to every single day (no joke) is the Vanilla Bean/Rose latte. This vanilla rose syrup is something I've never had before and let me just say.. it is DELICIOUS. Best latte in the whole city. I'm not even kidding you. The coffee at sisters has to be my favorite. Don't skip out on the food that they have either. They have a great avocado toast! Please stop by Sisters is you have not already. Thanks a latte sisters!

Christine L.

Yelp
I wish there were more electrical outlets for working. Otherwise decent amount of seating with an upstairs and downstairs. Overcast latte is so delicious! Not that sweet which I enjoy. I'd say the early grey flavor is mild but nice. Blue cheese croissant is pretty pricey but very good! Pretty large size too. Their bagels are some of my favorite. Even better than some bagel shops in my opinion. They bagel dough is just perfect. Water refill station in the corner by the bathrooms.

Ana M.

Yelp
I came in here for a coffee and maybe a bagel, after I decided to wake up early and get something to eat at 8 am. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a vegetarian dish with arugula, potatoes, and egg (I think it's called the Harvest Hash bowl). The people were very friendly and the food came out so quickly. I also love how inviting and warm the lighting and atmosphere are inside. I'll be coming back again!

Mike L.

Yelp
Stopped by for a coffee and to get out of the rain. Ordered a double espresso on ice and it was a bit acidic for my liking. But the Overcast Latte was delicious. You get the taste of the Earl Grey up front, and then the espresso comes through afterwards. Fun drink.

Therese A.

Yelp
Thanks for keeping it real! Great coffee, service and yummy goodies! We will be back! Glad to see you've been able to weather lockdown in Portland! Love you stayed open, didn't change the quality of service or goodies and have both indoor and outdoor seating! Thank you!

Kim G.

Yelp
Cozy coffee shop in The Pearl that serves up some major caffeinated coffee! And always with a smile. I drink a 16 oz cup every morning and when I come here, I get a 12 Oz cup otherwise I get jittery. But the coffee is so darn good with depth of flavor that hits the spot, I can't resist it. For pastries, I love their unique take on a chocolate croissant. It's rolled like a cinnamon bun so you get a bit of the dark chocolate in every bite. The dough is more like brioche than a flaky, croissant. It's really large and for me, definitely half in the morning, half later. The ginger biscuit is loaded with candied ginger and is absolutely divine! Full espresso menu with all the norms plus drip, French press, Hario and Townshend's teas. Baristas are super helpful and friendly. The coffee shop is filled with light that reflects off the light wood walls and counter nits two levels, has a fireplace, and has lots of comfy chairs. Typically I order to go but after seeing someone eating a breakfast sandwich, next time I am getting one of those to eat there and Enjoy the cozy vibe.

Lauren M.

Yelp
I'm a matcha lover, and quite particular about my teas at best. Picked the Jasmine Matcha - which was imo a proper balance of floral and earthy notes. My partner picked the classic cold brew, of which I had a taste test - felt it was a bit acidic, but airy. Was very happy with my matcha selection & will be back to look over their coffee selection soon

Joe G.

Yelp
nice, modern venue. comfortable but cool. quick counter service. excellent coffee. convenient location.

Brent W.

Yelp
Excellent cappuccinos, friendly staff, comfortable seating. Finding a table can be challenging on the weekend. Another great coffee shop for the area.

Nicole M.

Yelp
Enjoyed our first visit to Sisters Coffee. Upstairs seating was nice to sit and enjoy our knitting. The pumpkin Chai was delicious.

Jenn R.

Yelp
Finally stopped here for a hot tea and to check out the food options. They definitely didn't disappoint. On my first visit, I got a ginger biscuit. It was exactly that: a soft and fluffy biscut with dots of candied ginger all the way through. And no, nothing was tacky or chewy. It was just perfect (especially after I added some homemade apple butter). On my second visit, I got the bagel breakfast sandwich. HOLY SMOKES!!! Best breakfast bagel sandwich EVER!!! Was that bacon AND sausage? Was that a roasted red pepper? I didn't investigate visually, but d@mn. (Okay, I looked up the menu: bacon, egg, cheese, topped wth aioli, arugula, mam's lil pickled peppers on a plan or everything bagel. AND THEY'RE BOWERY BAGELS!!!) I'd 10/10 get that sandwich again. Also, loving the Black Rose tea. Mmm...

Art C.

Yelp
Very, very nice. Very nice cappuccino here. Portland, as a coffee city, is for real. No lie...

Katy L.

Yelp
Best coffee in town! Pick up a drink or baked good there or get their coffee beans to go to enjoy at home. I go weekly because it's the only coffee worth drinking. Tasty even when you're drinking it black :) Staff is well informed and can answer questions. Friendly atmosphere with plenty of seating inside, upstairs, and outside.

Alena R.

Yelp
Love love love love my neighborhood coffee shop. Delicious coffee and food EVERYTIME!! The staff is amazing and quick! My #1 choice in downtown Portland.

Croissant G.

Yelp
Love this place. Their coffee is really good, I especially loved their valentines coffee that was cherry and chocolate. Their chocolate croissants are so good and they heated it up for me. It's flakey, soft, moist. Amazing croissant!!!

Logan M.

Yelp
Very cute coffee shop with cozy, warm lighting and an upstairs area. Friendly staff, clean seating areas, good coffee and incredible pastries. Though I love the anesthetics the lighting is a little to dim for comfortable reading.

Sean H.

Yelp
The Daydream latte is the best vanilla latte I've had in a long time. Latte art is in point too. Great spot

Erick J.

Yelp
Never going there again. They don't respect their clientele or employees. The story in the Advocate is sickening.

Gabe F.

Yelp
I travel a lot for business and always search out great local coffee shops and Sisters Coffee Company is one of the best! Fresh roasted beans and tasty coffee, yummy pastries and a great vibe. I bought a pound of beans and we drank the pound in a week. Will make this a regular stop when in Portland

Gina F.

Yelp
On our Portland work life balance tour found this coffee gem. Goal is to seek about amazing coffee, glad to find this as stop 1 on way to Forest park. Sunday scene here matches the excellent beverages. 5 stars across the board for taste, service and scenery. Jasmine matcha latte for one of us, rest of us enjoyed the classic americano.

Alan C.

Yelp
Came to visit for a wedding and had some time to kill so I looked up a few coffee shops in the area. Came across this location and went to check it out! The barista was SUPER helpful in choosing a set of beans and gave me precise measurements/pull times for my espresso machine to get similar results to how they make their lattes. Got their standard latte and it was terrific. The interior ambiance was warm, cozy, and a lot of people come here to do work too which is a testament to how inviting the interior and staff are. Would definitely come by here again in the future if I visit

Rashi T.

Yelp
Its your cute neighborhood coffee shop that you can hang out at ,or work /study . Lots of seating both inside and outdoors however no indoor seating at the moment . Sisters Coffee offers fine coffees along with pastries, desserts, and light lunch sandwiches. They also have Hario, Chemex, French Press, and Drip brew methods in addition to a full espresso menu. Local tea purveyor Townshend's Teas provides a variety of loose leaf teas as well. They also have a variety of beans on sale and they will grind it to your preference . Pricing is reasonable .The staff is professional , but haven't really gotten the vibe that they want to be friendly . The service is a little slow and it takes a little longer than other coffee shops to get the drinks out.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
I recommend coming here at least once. It's a nice coffee spot. Service was okay. Coffee wasn't to my liking but I read so many good reviews so it might be your cup of Joe.

Rob T.

Yelp
A delicious coffee I recommend. My first experience was on my way to Bend. I went going home too!! I love their style!!

Heather S.

Yelp
The coffee, chai, and matcha drinks are so good. This review is about the process flow: It's kind of a hot mess. I have been here many times and it is always chaos. People who have not been here have no idea how the line should flow. People waiting for beverages cluster by the door because that is the most open space. The drinks don't tend to come up in the same way they were ordered. If you want cream for your coffee, you must walk back into the order flow to get to the cream. It is not where you pick up your drink. It's not fun.

Allison M.

Yelp
Love love LOVE this place. Amazing breakfast sandwiches (get the South Sister!) and incredible coffee. Have yet to be disappointed here. My favorites include: South Sister Sandwich, Latte, Americano and the Cream Cheese Coffee Cake Muffin! Great spot. Perfect Oregon vibe.

Gary J.

Yelp
As far as coffee shops go? Good and consistent. Add in the pastries/bakery stuff and you get a solid win of a place! The Ocean Roll is a constant favorite, but I recommend it all. If you just want coffee, know that it isn't the speed, but that's because the cup you get will be better. Give it a go!

Mark M.

Yelp
Best vanilla latte I've had. Prior to hitting Sisters, I had thought no cafe would beat Seattle coffee shops. So good.

Roger M.

Yelp
My favorite breakfast sandwich around the pearl district is made with the same day fresh and scrumptious everything bagel from the Bowery bagel Company. Add crispy bacon, free range egg, cheese, delicious Russian dressing and those so awesome and a little spicy mama Lils peppers. That's it! Oh, a poor over cup of single origin coffee from Kenya, Rwanda or somewhere on the African continent. My go to for sure!

Dave S.

Yelp
Sisters Coffee has significantly upped their game in the specialty coffee area. I was surprised to see many single origin offerings (plus bourbons) from the usual global growers at their Portland shop. Unlike the Bend Flagship shop, the PDX location doesn't yet serve pourovers (I'll go 5 star when they do!). The good news is that they do a nice job of batch-brewing so you'll be less tempted to go to other PDX locations that have pourovers. Bagged bean prices are fairly priced for SO's. Most PDX coffee shops provide food that is generally crossaint-ish with buttery/sugary coatings suited for children. Sisters goes well beyond this and has some creative takes on items like avo toast. Menus always change so check the food online. Prices are what you'd expect in these times of inflation. Yes, if you go on weekdays during morning rushes you'll stand in line. Any good bean shop is like that so monitor their busy times and plan ahead. I'll agree with other reviewers: the wait staff is both knowledgeable and really friendly, so treat them well and tip them well.

Nancy C.

Yelp
Quite possibly the friendliest team on the planet. Excellent cold brew and a tasty bagel toasted juuust right. Well worth the 18 minute walk past several other coffee shops to get here.

Monica B.

Yelp
Today was the first time at Sisters Coffee Company but it surely wont be my last. If you are in the area stop by and try a daydreamy Latte and a Ocean Roll. It is heavenly! So good that I am going to stop in Sisters on my way to Bend (detour) to try the Sisters cafe as well.

Oregon G.

Yelp
Unmasked staff during a time of high covid infection/death rate in Portland and despite CDC recommendation of indoor masking deprives Sisters of the fifth star. Unmasked staff puts everyone in increased danger, customers, themselves and old aunt Tilly whom they visit regularly. Wear your mask and order to go until you have had the omicron specific booster shot (should be available in late September). I ordered their baked egg cheese and sausage sandwich to go. It was well made and delicious and hot enough to enjoy several minutes after I received it.

Jared M.

Yelp
#fatjared say...a short visit but a BIG impact! I ran in to grab a simple bag of coffee. The smell...SWEET LORD!! It was unreal. It had such an aroma of coffee and baked goods that I fell in love instantly. I was in a hurry, so like I always do I asked the person at the counter what her favorite/their most popular roast was! There was 0 hesitation! When you say something with confidence I know it's real! I bought it and she didn't just stop there! She then asked not only if I wanted it ground, but what kind of way I was going to brew it. 2 seconds later I had the best smelling bag of coffee I've ever had in my hands ground up and ready to brew! I took it to my airbnb and had some the next morning...PHENOMENAL!! A nice staff, going above and beyond, with an aroma of the gods and great coffee...5 STARS!!

Diana X.

Yelp
Cool swag, decent coffee but the honey latte was too sweet and the espresso base tasted slightly weak.

Kelsey H.

Yelp
Love the coffee and service! Great place for a morning stop! Super cute ambiance that you can relax at.

Cara M.

Yelp
The coffee is great...but... They get 3 stars because they charge 25 cents to add cream or milk to your coffee. It's not about the cost, it's the principle. They're charging for a tablespoon or two of cream? Really? Stop nickle-and-diming your customers.

Soomin K.

Yelp
Love the coffee but most importantly love the people working here. Super friendly with amazing customer service. I'd choose this place over other ones since we all know coffee here in Portland is already phenomenal. Might as well go to the one that you feel welcomed and leave the cafe full of smile.
