The 13 Best Restaurants, Bars, and Cafes in Sisters | Eater Portland

"This family-owned specialty smokehouse has passed down its expertise from generation to generation, culminating in a popular meat shop and deli-butcher combo. There are a wide variety of meats, including beef, pork, chicken, turkey, local lamb, and elk, sourced from the Pacific Northwest. The small store also sells a diverse range of homemade products, including spices, rubs, sauces, soup mixes, and lunch meats. For those looking for a quick meal, they offer a full menu of hot and cold sandwiches, each featuring generous portions of meat. The best seller is the Reuben, featuring smoked pastrami providing a strong flavor lightened by the Thousand Island dressing and sauerkraut, served on thick marbled rye." - Barb Gonzalez

Google
Welcome to the Sisters Meat and Smokehouse! Been coming here for the past 8+ years and have yet to be disappointed with any of their offerings. Whether you want some of their amazing jerky, pepperoni sticks, and or One of their awesome cheeses for a quick snack or a nice slice of your favorite slab of beef. The list of what they have to offer keeps growing! They just opened a new mercantile next door with tons of goods and indoor seating to relax and eat your meal with some A/C. The new location is right on the main road through sisters too. They not only have fresh meats, but they have a wide variety of frozen meats, specialty sausages, and even elk and fresh packed frozen fish. They have tons of rubs and seasonings, sauces and spices to use with your cooking and some great pre-packed, marinated meats too. If you are hungry and can’t wait to get home to cook, they have beer on tap and a great selection of sandwiches and their tri-tip sandwich is delicious! They also have a grilled cheese and a PB&J if you have kids with you who want a more simple Option. I wish you a wonderful stop in to the best meat shop in Sisters! Thank you for reading my review and Happy Shopping & Eating!

Google
I’ve been wanting to go here for some time and while I was driving back from Camp Sherman, I decided to stop in sisters and try it out for lunch. It’s an awesome place. My French dip sandwich was very tasty. The people that work there are very nice.

Google
Best jerky and best sandwiches. The pictures probably don’t do them justice but they are great sized very tasty. They can get busy but they move fast so the wait for your sandwich is not long.

Google
I got the smoked turkey sandwich here. I kept seeing reviews saying this was the best sandwich place, so I had to try it. I love sandwiches and love finding places to try. This place will not disappoint at all. It was a great sandwich, but not the best. $17 is a little steep but that didn't factor into my review. If you love sandwiches, definitely a place worth trying at least once.

Google
Stopped in for a sandwich on our way back over the hill to Eugene! Super fresh food and amazing selection! Staff was very friendly and thankful for the business. Many spices and bbq 🍗 stuff.

Google
Great stop for lunch. Got the turkey sandwich and a tritip. Both were excellent. Staff were super friendly and very efficient. Definitely worth the stop when in Sisters. Meat case looked great, I want to go back and get some jerky. Also had a tempting case with all kinds of sides. Very cool that they have a pup some scraps. Much appreciated.

Google
If you are anywhere near Sisters Oregon don't pass this place up! Great little sandwichs available but the main event is in the meat cases! If you're fixing on a steak or chop you gotta check these guys out! The staff is super knowledgeable and very helpful in explaining everything they have to offer. Did I mention the sandos? I had the Reuben and it was AMAZING! Wife had the Beer Hound and the taste was very unique, with their house mustard I was in heaven! We bought a boatload of meats, sausages, and just about everything else! Thanks again guys, highlight of our Central Oregon trip!

Google
Excellent beef. We bought the best Porterhouse steaks here. Their marinated skirt steaks are tasty. Customer service friendly. They have marinades to die for. I love this place - worth stopping there on your way through Sisters.

Yelp
If you happen to be in Sisters, Oregon, and need a Reuben sandwich, let's face it. You have only one choice. I've been and I loved it. Not much place to sit though, but the service is friendly and accommodating. I lived five years in New York City and this sandwich matches any Reuben sandwich I had out east.

Yelp
Always the best always Prime cut meat the best sandwiches outside heating great selection of wine and beer You have to try the bologna none better Every time we come to sisters, we stop in for either a bologna sandwich or a package bologna to take home. It's so good.

Yelp
What just happened - I've wanted to go into this place for a few years now but just couldn't make it work as I was traveling through. Now I might schedule my trip around their hours of operations. Great service, amazing selection. I ordered a Kansas City cut and 2 fillets and it was the best meat I've eaten in years! No wonder they were slammed. No secret with these guys. If you haven't gone do immediately
google avatar

Yelp
Such a great spot with reasonably priced meat, especially from the display case. The filets are divine and service is really friendly. Nice selection of wine. My go-to for fresh meat, check it out'
google avatar

Yelp
Great lil shop with plenty of meats to choose from. There is a butcher section, a fridge with seasoned meats, cold cuts and cheese's olives. There is also a freezer with frozen meats. Small menu with sandwiches, a few beers on tap. They do growlers fills (as long as you bring in your own growler) plenty of wines , sauces, spices, mustards & marinades. I had to hold myself back from buying all the things because our car was already packed to the brim. Turkey sandwich was top tier. Definitely worth a stop when in town. I hope this place sticks around for a long time.

Yelp
Kinda pricey but a nice spot to stop in for lunch. 5 sandwiches cost me over 100.00 though, but the food is good quality and they give u a bag of chips and a cookie so I won't complain. There are picnic tables outside and the staff was kind. Get there early though it gets very busy!
google avatar

Arnab D.

Yelp
Overall the food was good but not spectacular. I liked the menu options as there was definitely variety in it. The star of the mixed platter was tenderloin but it felt like something was missing to make it a great dish to order. It was loud in the restaurant and the community table seating didn't help with the loudness either. Definitely worth a try but not close to the best steaks that I've had
google avatar

Yelp
Had the Rueben sandwich. It was very tasty, flavorful and tender meat with a nice marbled rye bread. Looks like a great meat market too.

Yelp
For kicks we got in the car and went to Sisters for lunch. The Sisters Meat and Smokehouse looked like fun so we stopped in. The atmosphere is interesting. Part meat market, part jellies, spices and souvenirs part sandwich shop. Not a ton of seating inside but we also didn't have trouble finding a place to sit.. there is also some seating outside, weather cooperating. I had the turkey sandwich sans tomatoes (maybe when they are in season) and the lady had a Reuben. Both sandwiches were great portions and fabulous flavors. The sandwiches both included chips and a cookie. The cookie was notably good. Chips are chips. Beers, wines, sodas all available to have with lunch. The service was friendly, quick and efficient. Overall great experience. Just a tad on the spendy side, but the quality is really good.

Yelp
Wishing I lived on this side of the coast so I could frequent Sisters Meat And Smokehouse every single day! Super friendly staff, quick service and then an hour long drive out to Lake Detroit, we are biting into our sandwiches and they are literal heaven! I got a Reuben and my friend got the roast beef and cheddar!
google avatar

Yelp
We can only add our applause to the many five star reviews. This is a small, deli type of shop that makes outstanding food. We had a Reuben sandwich that was perfectly delicious. It was thick with their in house made pastrami - very lean and incredibly delicious. Probably the best Reuben that I've ever had. Seriously. I think that anything you order there will be great. There is sometimes a line of patrons, but don't be put off, because it moves quickly with minimal waiting. This place may be your best choice in the area for a delicious lunch!
google avatar

Gina R.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches with beers on tap! Service was friendly and lots of seating space outside. They also had a nice selection wine, BBQ sauces and dressings!
google avatar

Jeffry L.

Yelp
Steaks were on point. Cheese was a little Smokey for me but damn good (I should have remembered it's a smokehouse). I like it extra spicey and the cheese had almost enough kick for me. Pepperoni was great. Beef jerkey was a little dry and salty and too much soy flavor, but I'm being picky here. Someone got a grilled cheese when I was in and holy crap it looked and smelled good
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
Friendly welcoming service. Order at the counter. The sandwiches were good. There are a few stools inside and then a few tables outside. Mostly take out orders while we were there.
google avatar

Yelp
Sisters Meat and Smokehouse was our go to meat market until they opened the Redmond store. This time we were there for sandwiches. It was a difficult decision; but, it picked Beef and Cheese Sandwich. For my wife it was a no-brainer, Old Fashioned Bologna Sandwich. I need to remember, no tomato for me and no onion for my wife. We found a table just outside the front door where we could watch the world go by. Unfortunately, the wind kept us busy keeping things from blowing away. The sandwiches came with chips and chocolate chip cookies. We added a couple of canned soft drinks. The sandwiches were large and very delicious. At $26 for the two of us, the price was not unreasonable. We will return and hope that the line is not too long.

Yelp
Loved the special hot turkey sandwich and my favorite every visit go to grab jalapeño cheddar beef jerky. Great friendly fast service. Cute clean shop with cool gift ideas as well. We stop here every trip from Bend to Portland.
google avatar

Janis D.

Yelp
I love the sandwiches here. They are the best deli sandwiches in town by far. The service is outstanding. And there is so many fun things to explore and find for your culinary pleasure
google avatar

Gabriel D.

Yelp
Best BRATWURST & Kraut I've ever had. Other people in the party had turkey sando & Bologna sandwich. Everyone said their sandwiches were very good. Great customer service, simple menu, the jerky and Pepperoni were really good. The butcher case looked awesome as well. Lots of seating outside with shade.
google avatar

Joe G.

Yelp
It's cool. Meats over priced. Triptip sando was decent. Meat was tender but bland, and I usually expect med rare with tritip... bbq sauce was great. 17 for a sammich and a bag of chips.

Chris G.

Yelp
Fantastic sandwiches. Great meats, spices, wine, .... Service is also great and the ambiance is just so perfect. I highly recommend Sisters Meat and Smokehouse.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I found no problem with their restaurant, food or drinks. However, a sandwich, packaged chips, and store bought cookie cost $17. The draft beer and cider are $6. Reasonable. For what you get, I thought the food price was too expensive. I think the price of the meal should've been no higher than $12. Because of the food price and the fact that they dared ask for a tip -- you order at a butcher shop counter, pick up your own food, and bus your own table -- I give them 3 stars.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
Tri tip sandwich! Juicy, juicy tri-tip with BBQ sauce. Each sandwich comes with a bag of chips and a chocolate chip cookie. You can eat it in store (they have some seating inside and outside) and free coffee and water by the door.
google avatar

Leslie D.

Yelp
My wife and I ate there a few months ago. The food was great and everything was fresh. We had a little bit of a wait because they were busy, but it was worthwhile again the food was delicious. The service was good and the was nice. I recommend eating here, whenever you're in Sisters.
google avatar

Ashlee G.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I loooove Sisters Smokehouse! I was in the mood for a good sandwich, classic sandwich if you will. We ordered the turkey and the bologna sandwiches and OMG they both were soooo good. I'f you loved bologna sandwiches as a kid, like me, you will be so happy with their version. The sandwiches have tons of their amazing in house smoked meat, but not too much where it overpowers everything else. Also their hot sauce and cheeses are fantastic!!
google avatar

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Great place - next time we visit bringing our cooler to load up - love the meat choices great quality .. Beef Jerky was amazing French Dip and Rueben amazing !!
google avatar

Alicia F.

Yelp
Inside/outside: staff was quick and welcoming. 8 or so chairs at a bar inside the air conditioning, 3-4 tables and chairs under the eaves out front and 10 or so big picnic tables under sails in the side yard. It was a very clean place with about a 50:50 split between meat/cheese/menu and dry goods. We sit in and it was great. Food: meats were incredibly expensive and looked of EXCELLENT quality...you get what you pay for. Hubby had the biggest balogna sandwich I've ever seen 3 huge slices of meat, 3 slices of cheddar, slabs of tomato, lettuce, onions on thick slices of white bread. He had to stretch his mouth to get it in. It's a winner (if you like bolagna). I had the pastrami. Again huge sandwich, generous portions of meat and kraut, with nice thousand island. Tastes different than our homemade pastrami but was very delicious. Other stuff: lunch was on the spendy side, $30. You could easily spit a samy with another person. Bottom line: don't miss it!

Evelyn B.

Yelp
After reading 5 star reviews we stopped on our way through Sisters. Ordered a Tri Tip sandwich $17. Expected it to be GREAT, it wasn't...., kinda blah. Also Ordered a Brautworst with sauerkraut $10 which was tasty. We still wanted more so I ordered a Reuben sandwich$17, Looked wonderful, but barely any meat and again pretty taseless!!! Lots of sauerkraut, was very disappointed. Add up the cost + a tip ( assuming it will be good). If you stop here get the Brautworst.

Yelp
The smokehouse is the king of Chartrutery boards in Sisters! Susan is the master creator there. Her composition and ability to dial in customer requests is mind blowing. She will even break out a drawing pad and colored pencils to draft ideas down with each ingredient! Love it!
google avatar

J F.

Yelp
My husband got the Reuben and thought it was delicious. I ordered the turkey sandwich and while it was good, it seems way overpriced for what it is. There is plenty of outdoor seating, but not much inside. The service was fairly fast and the servers were friendly.
google avatar

Jaime R.

Yelp
By far one of the best stops! The sandwiches were delicious, staff was welcoming, and we got to enjoy sitting outside. We truly loved this place. A must stop if you are in town. We will drive back!
google avatar

Avery H.

Yelp
Its been a tradition for me every time I am in sisters to stop at the smokehouse. Their sandwiches are next level, simple but absolutely delicious. The folks behind the counter are always super nice and courteous, great spot for eating outside in the summer, more of a to-go spot during the winter. I can not recommend it enough.

Molly T.

Yelp
Always have the best meat. Their hospitality is superior and amazing. Very casual and laid back feel to the place.
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
Had the tri tip sandwich. For $18 I was pretty disappointed. Place wasn't busy, but the sandwich was very sloppily put together, like it was done in a hurry. BBQ sauce was plopped into one spot, so most of the sandwich was dry. No extra sauce offered or in bag. Meat was decent, but nothing really special. Bread was a bit soggy, like the sandwich had been sitting for awhile. Seems oriented more towards tourists than value.
google avatar

Bill D.

Yelp
Amazing meat shop located a block off the highway. The meat selection was amazing as is the canned jars of various vegetables that are usually spiced with peppers. The jerky is easily some of the best I've ever had. While I didn't eat there, there were many people doing so and the sandwiches looked great and judging by how packed the place was, had to be good. When in the Sisters area, we'll worth the stop!
google avatar

Sandra C.

Yelp
Sandwiches were delicious. Worth the hype!! They have a cute little grocery. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Robert S.

Yelp
Five stars for sure. We had the tri-tip sandwich (which comes with a bag of chips and a cookie) and it was delicious...probably the best we've had. There is nice seating out front and very curious service. We've also had their brats and purchased a marinated tri-tip to cook at home. Both are delicious.
google avatar

Barbara H.

Yelp
I love a good Rueben and this one did not disappoint! Everything was on point: perfectly toasted, real Swiss cheese melted into the sauerkraut, enough dressing to make the sandwich just juicy enough, and excellent pastrami. Friendly service and pretty quick given the bluegrass fest crowd
google avatar

Eric J.

Yelp
If you are passing through or spending some time in Sisters. This is the place for anything meat related. They have every cut you could imagine at very reasonable prices. Shelves of rubs and sauces. Racks of bite size treats. Also a sandwich menu they make to order. I got the reuben, honestly one f the best I've ever had.
google avatar

Mac L.

Yelp
Sandwiches are outstanding Turkey is the yummy tri-tip packed with flavor. French dip my favorite. Rueben tasty! Friendly service gotta grab meat to go!
google avatar

Emily N.

Yelp
Outstanding. We went to the Redmond location this morning (Friday 7/19) and had the absolute best service. We strolled in after flying and had a lot of questions and things to buy, and we were met with help, beyond friendly service and so many samples. Wish we knew the name of the guy that helped us to he could get credit for his exceptional service. Thank you!
google avatar

Linda O.

Yelp
Great place. You won't be disappointed.no indoor dining. Small patio area only, nice selection of meats

C J S.

Yelp
We stopped in the location in Bend and what a great place! They have an amazing meat market, deli, and seasonings, marinades, sauces etc. The staff were so friendly and engaging. My husband and I had fresh made sandwiches, which were terrific! Then we bought some bacon to make for breakfast the next day, and some seasonings and marinades. We definitely recommend for lunch or just to get some amazing steaks, bacon, jerky!
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
Great service. Good beef sticks. Nice gift shop. Charming town. Great weather. Need to fill up 85 characters
google avatar

Yelp
This place is lovely. I was in the mood for a sandwich and I certainly didn't want Subway. I looked around on Yelp and saw this place where you can pick up meats but they also make sandwiches. I selected a turkey sandwich and the YS got the Reuben. Both come with Kettle chips and a cookie. These sandwiches are huge and if you are not too hungry you could likely split one and/or save half for later. Their sitting is all outside but they have the heaters outside so it's nice out there. It is especially good if you are like me and don't want to eat inside anywhere anyway. Someday that will be a thing again. I just can't say when. I will definitely come back into this place and pick up sandwiches again. They have beer, wine, and soft drinks to go with your food. I'll definitely be back again.

T B.

Yelp
I stopped in and looked around. It seemed pretty pricey to me. But again, I grew up on a farm where we butchered our own meats . The decor is very cute. I did not try any food but a couple people were sitting on the front porch eating.
google avatar

Rick G.

Yelp
Great sandwiches, meat and customer service. It's a must stop if you're in Sisters. If you order a sandwich it comes with chips and a cookie. And there Tri-Tip sandwich is the best I've ever had.
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
I usually try to stop by this place when driving through the town. They have some of the best jerky and jalepeno cheddar pepperoni sticks I've eaten. It's definitely a must try for anyone who likes beef jerky and pepperoni sticks. I've also tried their food- The Reuben sandwich was wonderful and full of flavors.
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
Delicious (if over-priced at $17) sandwiches and a cozy but small sitting area outside
google avatar

Richard F.

Yelp
We love this place, sandwiches are the best! We used them to send gift packages of meat to our relatives around the country. They did an amazing job of packing and shipping. One of the gift packages went to two chefs, they both said it was the best meat they have ever eaten. Super friendly staff and great place to sit and enjoy lunch.
