"You could spend a whole day at Sisters in Clinton Hill. This restaurant starts serving lunch at 11am, and they're open until at least midnight every night. It's a great place to grab drinks, but we also recommend stopping by for a nice dinner in the beautiful space. With its plants, high ceilings, and hanging globe lights, Sisters looks like an upstate cabin you'd see in Architectural Digest. "A lot of Brooklyn restaurants look like someone searched for photos of “Brooklyn restaurant,” threw together a mood board, and went shopping at the restaurant supply version of West Elm for items that fit. But not Sisters. The Sisters space is genuinely unusual and objectively awesome-looking, from the ceilings to the black brick walls to the massive white wood and marble bar that takes up the front room. And during the day, there’s a huge skylight that lets in tons of natural light. This place is straight-up PRETTY. The space is the main thing you’ll notice at Sisters, located in Clinton Hill on the same stretch as pizza haven Emily (Sisters’ bar is a great spot to occupy yourself during Emily’s long waits). But the food, which includes solid takes on the usual suspects like kale salads, burgers, mac and cheese et al, is pretty good as well. Hanging out can also happen here during the daytime - a casual atmosphere and pretty people fill this place at all hours (they open daily at 11am), whether that’s dudes in Outerknown flannel shirts or babies wearing sweaters much nicer than yours. While the backroom, which used to host DJs at night, isn’t currently in use, Sisters has added one of the better heated outdoor spaces in the neighborhood, located directly in front of the restaurant entrance. So you can come to hang out regardless of the weather, share some snacks and wine with someone you like, and then kidnap the people who designed this place and make them dress you in the morning. Food Rundown Fried Chicken Sandwich Light, crispy chicken on a bun with spicy mayo and cabbage. As it should be. This is the sandwich option to get here. Fried Pickles Not the most, well, pickled fried pickles we’ve ever come across, but they do come with a zesty buttermilk ranch. And they’re chips rather than spears, which is very important. Veggie Burger Unlike your usual I-have-no-idea-what’s-in-here mush, the veggie burger here is crispy and full of black beans. If you’re a veggie burger person, it’s enjoyable, but you don’t need to go out of your way for it. Roasted Cauliflower Chili crisp on top, cool yogurt sauce underneath - this might be the best appetizer here. Get it to share and then don’t. Mac And Cheese In a skillet. Tastes how it looks: good. Kale Caesar With Crispy Chicken Does this sound super exciting? No, but the kale is well-dressed with parm and bread crumbs and the chicken is, in fact, very crispy. "Clinton Hill is full of hidden gems and SISTERS is no exception. The quirky facade opens up onto one of the most unexpectedly glorious interiors. A fresh breath from the typical Brooklyn interior, SISTERS is light-drenched and unique with a gorgeous marble bar, expansive wooden shelving and a spacious dining room lined in brick and reclaimed wood. Come during the day to soak up the brightness and enjoy coffee, brunch or lunch, or stop by in the evening for chill vibes and dinner accompanied by a DJ set or whatever they have on their musical calendar for the night." - Makewell

"Sisters feels sort of like a dollhouse for a doll that went to Wesleyan and double majored in Art History and Romance Studies. But isn’t that what you want when you’re day drinking? If you just answered yes in your head, read on. Sisters opens at 8am every weekday (and 10:30am on weekends), and lunch starts at 11:30. They don’t serve all their cocktails in the daytime, but you should be able to get something like a bloody Mary or a glass of wine.
