The 13 Best Restaurants, Bars, and Cafes in Sisters | Eater Portland

"Sisters Saloon has served up cowboy charm since 1912. Originally built as a hotel, much of the dining room and bar has been restored to keep its inviting country ambiance. Photos of the early days of Sisters take diners back to when the town was just a dirt road and Sisters Saloon was the biggest building. A sign invites guests to go upstairs where there is a game room with shuffle board and an old foosball table. Downstairs there are swinging doors leading between the bar and dining room. This family-friendly restaurant offers a basic menu from ranch house burgers to chicken pot pie, steelhead, to gluten-free fried chicken tenders. For a satisfying meal, indulge in the reasonably priced, hearty Double R Ranch filet or ribeye served with a simple scoop of mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables. Follow it with warm cookies and ice cream for dessert." - Barb Gonzalez

I stopped in just as the rodeo hit town so not sure how things are on an everyday basis. I had a couple well made drinks at the bar and ordered the steak bites. The steak was cooked perfectly and the horseradish kicked it up a notch. Will definitely stop in again during my next visit to Sisters.

Google
Excellent! I always wanted to do something in Sisters OR and Sisters Saloon & Ranch Grill was a great start. From the classic decoration, atmosphere to the service and food everything was great. I had a medium well Ribeye steak with roasted veggies and coleslaw salad.

DELISH! Grilled cheese sandwich and chicken pot pie… Both my wife and I were pleased with the taste of these plates. On our way back from the Oregon coast to Nevada and waited to stop and eat in sisters Oregon. Dayne G. was a fantastic server, pleasant to talk to and very accommodating.

Google
The food is excellent, I have been here twice in the past two months. The service isn't as good, as the food. I come with an elderly couple they request to share a plate, at every other restaurant I have been too they have split the food in the back and then serve it, at this restaurant they just hand a plate and say here you go. It's happened both times I have been in, and I feel it lacks customer guest service. It's not like it's a low quality restaurant. It's a medium class restaurant with high-quality meat yet below the bar with simple things, like small conversations with guests. Below average pace for drinks to arrive. Even the average restaurant that we go to split a simple plate for 2 elderly people. Just seems unclassy for the server to not even offer when told they are splitting a plate. The place is so nicely done, the decor is on point for the area, parking is street parking, and it's right down town, they have a bar connected.

Google
Visiting from out of town and the Saloon was recommended. Staff were friendly, meal was quickly prepared, quiet atmosphere on a weekday. I choose the French dip and it was very tasty. The fries were good if a bit greasy but they were Cowboy style so it matched the restaurant. Overall a nice place to grab lunch! Hoping to try dinner there.

Google
I can’t say enough good things about Sisters Saloon! From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming, providing top-notch service throughout our meal. The atmosphere has that cozy, rustic charm that makes you feel right at home. We started with the steak, and it was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. You could tell it was prepared with care. The home-cooked style dishes that followed were just as impressive, each plate made with quality ingredients and that unmistakable touch of comfort food. To top it all off, we tried the Oregon Berry Cobbler dessert, and it was a true delight! Sweet, fresh, and the perfect way to finish a great meal. Sisters Saloon has mastered the balance of great food, warm service, and authentic local flavors. Highly recommend!

Google
The most amazing French Dip ever! Our server Jessie was so helpful. The fry sauce amazing! The beer soooo good. Great spot.

Samantha Tipton

Google
The food was pretty dang good, elevated bar food with a homemade twist. The chick pot pie was delicious.

Yelp
Cameron made our first trip to Sisters and perfect ending to a perfect trip! He was very welcoming and even though it was a busy dinner service he was very attentive and took time to ask us about our weekend and any questions we had regarding the area! A HIDDEN GEM IN A HIDDEN GEM OF A TOWN!;

Nancy K.

Yelp
Great service from Monse! Food was great quality--nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I stop by here every time I am in Sisters. The old western look of the Saloon draws you in driving by. Once inside you truly feel like you're in an old western film. The service here is always quick and friendly. We did have to wait a bit longer than normal for a table since it is rodeo weekend but they communicated well and were able to get us on the waiting list. It looked as though they were hosting an after party for the rodeo and it looked like a blast- live band and all. We were seated within 20 minutes. This place is worth the wait. I got the caballero burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was full of flavor and very juicy. I also got a virgin margarita which was perfect. This place is definitely something you don't want to miss coming through sisters.

Yelp
Not a great experience at the Sisters Saloon & Ranch Grill this last week. We were in town for the concert and wanted a good, friendly restaurant before we headed into Bend. And I have heard similar comments from a good friend that visited Bend and the Grill a year ago. When we entered the restaurant, we asked to see a menu before we made our decision, and we received the infamous eye roll from the blondish haired server. C'mon. This restaurant is located in a tourist area and it should be gracious and engaging. Nope. And a side note...why isn't the menu posted on the exterior of the building for others to see...and not receive the eye roll. The unfriendly server wanted to seat us at a table away from the window area, and we saw one that looked great. She said they would have to clean it first. No problem. A friendlier, but slow moving hostess made this happen. We finally sat down and waited, and waited for any type of greeting. When the unfriendly, eye roller server began to take an order from a party of two that was seated well after us, I told my wife, "let's go find some place else". She was surprised, but understood completely. We went to the a very friendly restaurant two blocks away and had an excellent experience. We will be back in the area often this summer, and now I know where to go and were to avoid.

Yelp
I love a good saloon, so I thought it would be fun to try out the saloon in town and get a drink. Since it was a nice day we asked to sit outside. The bartender said to ask the hostess, the hostess said to ask the bartender so we tried again. The bartender then said she would serve us a drink, but not come outside to check on us. We said that was fine and paid for two drinks. Of course, other patrons came outside after a while and so did the bartender to talk to them. I'm assuming they were locals. When we left I noticed a place next door that we'll try next time called The Barn. It had lots of seating and people outside enjoying drinks and the nice afternoon.

Yelp
We ate lunch here on our way out of Sisters. This seemed like the best option out of the limited choices in Sisters, and I was decently happy with it. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries, my husband got the salmon, my mother-in-law got the chicken pot pie, and my daughter got a kids mac n cheese. The kids menu doubled as a coloring sheet and they gave her crayons while we were waiting, which I really appreciated because it seems like a dying practice. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious! The fries were really good too. It came with so many fries that I was able to share them with the whole table. My husband said he liked his salmon a lot. The chicken pot pie was pretty good but came with a super thick crust, which was a bit overkill. But overall we liked the food. The vibe was just what I'd expect from a saloon. They had a separate area that was just the bar, but we didn't get any drinks since we just wanted a quick lunch. It wasn't the fastest lunch, but we waited a reasonable amount of time so I was content.

Yelp
Favorite stopping place on our way to Bend area. Staff is always friendly and celiac aware. Menu is marked for GF. Menu hasn't changed over the years so we tend to get the same things: GF chicken sandwich and steelhead. Read the menu carefully for up charges on substitutions; I wasn't expecting when I substituted salad for mashed potatoes and vegetables. Fun old time saloon atmosphere.

Yelp
Great place to stop and have lunch the decor fun and goes along with a saloon in sweet sisters Oregon. Service was amazing Jessie was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food was good I had steak bites and wedge salad was really crispy and tasty. Steak was cooked how I like . My hubby got the french dip sandwich he liked it lots of meat and big portion . The strawberry lemonade I would drink one right now if I could. So refreshing on a hot day. Go stop and say hi and have some good food .

Yelp
We were headed back from Bend and needed a small bite so Sisters Saloon & Ranch got our vote. My husband and I ordered a salad, a Cobb and a Wedge. They were both brought out fairly quickly. They were nice portions and tasted good, nothing fancy about it. It fit the bill. We also opted for the berry cobbler with ice cream. I'm a bit of a cobbler expert and while the berries in this dessert were sweet and tart and perfectly cooked, it definitely lacked on the topping. My ratio is half and half and this one was more like 80/20. They had a serving tray with examples of the dessert and ours and the tray did not match if you look closely! Don't worry we did finish it all, we just wanted more topping. We didn't have a reservation but there was plenty of tables open. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Yelp
Jeff is a great server, we've been coming to Sister's Saloon for many years and he's always a joy to talk to. Of course good service is not much without good food and we always leave with a happy tummy!

Yelp
We had the BEST waitress, Steph. We were there a couple of weeks ago and Steph was so kind and was a fabulous waitress. She was very attentive, came back to our table quite a few times and was so friendly. We are from Ohio, but if we come back, we will definitely ask for her! Hope you guys know how lucky you are to have her working there!!!!

Richard M.

Yelp
My wife and I waited 45 minutes for our lunch to be served by a waiter with a big mustache while we watched many new customers come in and get served within 10 minutes. I finally asked a different server what was up. She went to the kitchen and came back and said that they never got the order and will start it now. We refused and went to the Smokehouse and had a great lunch with great service! The town is always busy, so our patronage means nothing to the Saloon and it showed!

Allen B.

Yelp
Delicious food! Top notch deserts and even better service by Monse! We've been here multiple times with a large group of people and always deliver great service.
google avatar

Yelp
The servers were friendly and we got seated right away. I had the steak bites and they were tender and medium rare. We also ordered a grilled cheese that came with a large serving of fries. Nice place to stop for a quick bite.

Yelp
The whole experience was amazing! Our server Jessie was a ray of sunshine. The prime rib dip was large portion and so flavorful. Jessie recommended chips with house dipping sauce. She did not lead us wrong. Yummy! Come get you some delicious food!!!

Yelp
Monse was the best sharing her suggestions and why and how everything is made fresh every morning. We had a great time and will be back! Loved loved loved the French fries

Yelp
A great restaurant in a small town best describes Sister Saloon and Ranch Grill. To start, this whole town has a Western feel and is very cozy. We found a parking spot out front, which was lucky because there was a festival going on this Saturday at lunchtime. We were seated immediately, and the service was great from the time we walked in the door. We were seated in a wooden booth near the back of the restaurant. On the table was a variety of hot sauces and the usual condiments. The menu was pretty big, and everything looked great from the descriptions. The cup of chili was thick and full of beans and meat. The base is a little sweet but very tasty. The bison burger served rare was juicy and lean. I loved the house cut potato chips. The smoked turkey and cheese sandwich was light and healthy on very soft, fresh baked bread. We totally enjoyed the meal from the Great service to the delicious food. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or any meal.

Yelp
I live in sisters and always avoid the saloon. The most recent time I ate there, the chicken in the salad was bone dry. The steak was unimpressive, and full of gristle. We couldn't eat half of it. Not to mention was barely seasoned. The steamed veg on the side was so under seasoned it had never seen salt and pepper in its life. My drink was entirely strawberry puree, talk about a light pour. It has always been bland unimpressive food. Save yourself the money.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
if you have time I highly recommend sitting down for dinner at the Sisters Saloon. Outrageously Excellent steaks and Monse, our server, was an absolute delight. I'm not a chef but I know good steak. The beef they're serving here is incredibly tender and cooked to perfection. This is a "must stop" place for us.
google avatar

Yelp
We gathered hear for a family celebration and had a stellar experience! From our server Monse, to the amazing starter salads to the fabulous filet mignon to the giant bread pudding and brownies. A great time was had and we will be back!
google avatar

Deb S.

Yelp
The food was over the top. Started with Brussels sprouts with bacon and goat cheese. Perfect! Then delicious well seasoned burger loaded with pamplano chili and red onion snd special Alioli sauce. Sweet potatoes fries were made just crispy enough. The service was A+. Server went out of her way to be sure our lunch guest got her coffee even when they had a late delivery. The ambiance was pure Sisters. If you have never been there make this your food stop.
google avatar

Geneva J.

Yelp
I enjoyed sitting in the bar. Rodeo weekend so things were busy. We had delicious burgers.
google avatar

Sandy B.

Yelp
Great stop for food, drinks, and fun. Fabulous service! Slots in the bar area. Good food selection. Best part was the bread pudding - absolutely delicious! We had the wedge salad and Turkey sandwich. Home style feel.

Marc R.

Yelp
From the beginning, when we entered the Saloon, the AC was refreshing on 90 degree day. The menu had great options we all had several options to choose from. The Brussels sprout appetizer was served quickly (crispy and tasty). Tracy was adept at a few special requests, making recommendations to make sure the order met our needs. While we waited, we enjoyed the great playlist. Food came quickly and was hot, tasty and hearty. Tracy check-in in often to make sure everything was right. Try the bread pudding. Trust me

Dana R.

Yelp
Sat 6/7/25 6pm got seated for a table for 2. Table of 8 comes in after us and gets served before us. Ordered the steelhead and got salmon. I took a pic and asked google what it was and it came back as "salmon" as well. Waitress insisted it was steelhead. Shouldn't have steelhead on the menu if you gonna serve salmon. Service was mediocre at best.
google avatar

Alita B.

Yelp
Delicious food! Great atmosphere! Stellar service! Highly recommend this place. Everything is fresh. The hand cut fries are irresistible.
google avatar

Sasha P.

Yelp
A wonderful dining experience! We came borderline hangry and couldn't narrow it down on what to eat. Jessie was an absolute delight and picked out some delicious meals for us! The ribs melted off the bone and the brussel sprouts were a crisp dream. Jessie even gave us some recommendations of places to stop during our trip. Would definitely recommend and ask for Jessie!
google avatar

Sophi B.

Yelp
The waitress was very beautiful and kind. The Cubano sandwich with onion rings and unsweetened iced black tea was superb. The ciabatta bread was fresh, crispy toasted but soft and warm inside. I had the sauce in the side which was a deep attack on my nasal passages like smoked ginger or wasabi or...tumeric. No matter, the depth of flavor was nice. I will return and starve myself the day before so I can finish this delicious sandwich. Well done!
google avatar

Kim R.

Yelp
Cute restaurant with good service. The young gentleman who seated us was very sweet and professional and our server was very friendly. The food we had was okay, yet not as good as the service. I found the beef dip sandwich to be a little light on the meat but too heavy on the horseradish. I couldn't scrape off enough to really enjoy it, so I gave most of it to my hubby (who also felt it was too much but managed) and ended up eating most of the fries (which were great) and our Ceasar salad. The salad was fresh and good, on par with your average version.

Vince R.

Yelp
Jeff! Great service! 2nd time eating here in the last 2 years - to/from Boise to the coast. Love this place - great food, great service, great prices. On a scale of 10 - this is an 11. Relaxed and yet pampered with service.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Phenomenal service, unbeatable food, and awesome atmosphere! We could not have been happier with our choice to eat here. We stopped in briefly from out of town and had some of the best filet and steelhead of our lives. The seasoned butter that came with both dishes was the icing on the cake and the kids meal mac & cheese was also a highlight. It was a chilly night but we requested to sit outside and they were happy to accommodate. Ask for Stephanie, she was the best waitress - super knowledgeable and went above and beyond to be helpful. Cannot recommend this gem highly enough. 10/10.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Came here on Monday for lunch. The inside has a really cool western/saloon theme. Service was great. The chili was very good and hearty, little on the sweeter side. The potato skins were really two potatoes, cut in half with cheese and bacon on top, not bad/not great. The brussels sprouts were cooked well, but was really hoping for more flavor. Overall, it was a decent experience.
google avatar

Hannah P.

Yelp
Jessie was fantastic. She was so nice and fun!! we love the sisters saloon! We always eat here when in sisters!
google avatar

Ryan T.

Yelp
Cameron was amazing! Super friendly and helpful. The potato skins are legit and we loved the vibe.

Linda D.

Yelp
A perfect vacation lunch! FirstThe perfect Margarita! Red Rock burger is delicious, cooked to perfection and just the right amount of heat. But, not to be missed - the fries with fry sauce! I would love to have them bottle that sauce. The meal ended with the crowning dessert - the best bread pudding...EVER! Do yourself a favor, please ask for Jessie! She is a gift!

Betsy H.

Yelp
Jennifer in the bar is great! Friendly & attentive. Always a fun time! The saloon is great place to meet friends & have a meal.
google avatar

Holly L.

Yelp
I've been visiting Sisters since 2016 and have never eaten here. We placed a to go order and I'm really bummed we did that because I loved the atmosphere of this place when I went to pick up the order. The food was amazing. I received friendly service too. I will definitely be back when I'm in town next!!

Katie H.

Yelp
Great food! Took a little bit to have our order placed, but our waitress Monse was super personable and made great suggestions.
google avatar

Robin S.

Yelp
Menu is heavy on traditional 'saloon' food. Lots of meat. Vegetarians might want to look elsewhere. Nice old-school bar. Good tap list. Great service by the barkeep. - Caballeros burger: a good burger. Fries only average. - Steelhead fish: small portion of fish well prepared. Not a large meal as compared to the burger/fries.

Yelp
The place is pretty cool on the inside, historic. We stopped in for lunch. Their food was good pub fare. I had the dip sandwich with their hand cut potato chips. My wife had a salad. The server was friendly but somewhat absent. After dropping off our food and drinks she never came back to check on us. I needed some sweetener for my ice tea. I tried to get her attention several times. I sat there with my non-sweetened tea getting warmer as I waited. She finally came over to give us our bill. That's when I asked for and got my sweetener. By then I didn't drink much of it. She didn't seem busy and spent a lot of time out of view somewhere. Had service been better I would have given one more star.
google avatar

Bill S.

Yelp
Went to Sister Saoon for dinner and cocktails and was very happy! My wife each had the chicken pot pie with a martini. The pot pies were filled with a lot of chicken and vegetables with a philo dough crust and they were wonderful! The martinis were just as asked for and delicious! Dan in the bar area was our bartender/server and he was attentive and very personable! It was a very good experience!
google avatar

Anne C.

Yelp
Really nice service and very good, hearty food! I had the Caballero burger and my husband had the bison burger. Both were delicious. Also, good Brussels sprouts appetizer. Nice place!
google avatar

Misty W.

Yelp
Was excited to try this place. Ordered the Brussels sprouts and 6 oz streak with veggies and mashed potatoes. The Brussels sprouts were disappointing. Hardly cooked and there was more skins then actual sprouts. Steak was good but overly priced for an all scoop of potatoes and veggies. Also don't ask the server for napkins and silverware...apparently too much to ask. Will not return.

Lisa S.

Yelp
Food & Drinks were delicious! Highly recommend the caballero burger! The fry sauce is great too! Our server Jeff was friendly and very funny!
