Steap and Grind Review - Fishtown - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"If you’re in Fishtown and need a casual and generally pretty quiet cafe to get some work done or grab a quick coffee, Steap & Grind is a solid choice. They have a good lunch menu with salads and sandwiches that will do the trick when you’re in the area and their daily iced tea flavors, like grapefruit and blood orange, are a good alternative to the liter of iced green tea you usually mobile order from Starbucks." - Sydney McElwee

We look forward to coming here every Sunday. My pup, Milly, would start running to the shop as soon as we were on the street. Gert and the staff are always incredibly kind, and go out of their way to make the pups (and their humans) feel special. Milly girl spent her last day with us getting spoiled with a doggie ice cream treat from Gert. We are so grateful that she was able to enjoy this special place before she passed. Safe to say our new pup, Parmesan, also loves going here for her pets and cookie! They always have fun dog cookies that are made with quality ingredients. My favorite coffee is the pumpkin chai latte! We're lucky to have our favorite coffee spot right around the corner!

The girl behind the counter was very nice and had a lot of patience, however, the fact that they charge a whole dollar for substituting dairy in a latte while at the same time having a tip jar that says "save a cow tip us instead" is the most insensitive and offensive thing. If they actually cared about cows, they wouldn't promote dairy, and they wouldn't charge people who want to be kind to cows extra. Not to mention the latte that I got was not very good and cost me $8.

Amadeus gives his dog cookie a 5/5! The owner of The Groove Hound is amazing so I was excited when I saw that she was opening Sit Stay Coffee! We checked it out today and had a great experience. Everyone there was friendly, the pastries were good, and the chai latte was perfect. I got dog cookies and they were a hit! I'm excited to go back at a time when we can hang out in the yard :)

Purposefully went over here with our puppy while we were strolling the neighborhood. If there’s one thing Fishtown has plenty of, it’s coffee shops. But figured while we have the pup we would pop over. Nobody acknowledged us other than asking for our order, and didn’t mention or say anything about our dog. Not that I expect a red carpet or people to come rushing out to praise our dog, but it’s kind of the point here to have your dog acknowledged, no? We started talking about the cookies and we’re just left on our own to choose one, I guess there’s no difference between them? I wouldn’t know since they didn’t add any communication besides gesturing where they were. There wasn’t anyone else in line or waiting around, so it’s not like they were busy. 3 people working and it was just a normal walk up coffee window. We get more dog acknowledgement from literally every other coffee place around. The chai and coffee we ordered were fine, so I gave a stars for that. It is a coffee spot after all. I just kept reading about how amazing the staff is with dogs and see all these posts about them interacting with the dogs. Just a normal coffee buying experience for us.

This is by far the best coffee in Fishtown! I really enjoy how they pay attention to the little things-from the inspiring stickers on the cup to the variety of pastries and breakfast bagels. The baristas are very attentive and friendly to the core. Always brings a huge smile to my face and I leave feeling excited to come back for more! The pups are lucky to come here, too. :) Cuteness overload 🥰

Our new favorite place to grab coffee on our way to Konrad square with our pups. They have great pastries for humans and pups and they have an adorable treat shoot for the pups. LOVE it and the entire crew at Groove Hound 🫶🏼💗🫶🏼

Yelp
The veggie or the jalapeño cheddar cream cheese is unmatched. I think they're comparable to Kismet's - yes, I said it. The vegetables are fresh and well incorporated. The flavor pops and overall it's way more affordable. The coffee beans are sourced from Bean2Bean which is a solid choice. The chai latte is pretty good! They don't use the typical concentrate that others so I like that different flavor profile that isn't Tazo tea. The vibes are exactly what I hope for all local small businesses in our neighborhood! Our dogs go to the Groovehound daycare so they loveee that they can romp around in their usual stomping grounds on the weekend. Get yourself a nice bagel, drink, and let your dogs run around in the back. Your dog would prob also like for me to tell you to get them a treat or dog ice cream!

Yelp
Sit Stay Coffee is a must for dog owners! We love the convenience of the walk up window, but our dog much prefers for us to sip our coffees in the yard so he can play with friends. He also loves the treat chute, and it's so cute to watch him take the treat from the bowl. I take a video every time, so insta worthy! For humans, Sit stay coffee has the BEST oat milk latte (and I'm very particular about both espresso and nondairy milk alternatives). The shop owner Gert is a true lover of all dogs, and the baristas are great too. Overall it's a great environment where it's clear that customers become family and everyone is welcome.

Yelp
I'm so happy and full of a delicious bagel with delicious veggie cream cheese. Iced coffee is also delicious. Good service, seems like a good staff. Didn't go inside but that's okay I will go inside when I go back for more food in a few days. So grateful this place has opened!

Yelp
Not to be creepy but I love you guys. I've been waiting for a coffee place that sells bagels forever. I no longer have to whine about how you can only get $12 breakfast sandwiches in this neighborhood, all of which don't come on a normal bagel. I considered opening a place myself because of how clear of a gap this is in the area. Also your veggie cream cheese is fire. AND you have dogs. Thank you.

Yelp
Staff is always very friendly to me and my pup and orders are always quick to come out. The perfect little neighborhood coffee shop!
